We spent weeks going back and forth on equipment selection and system design for a $40K home…read moretheater project. Paid a design fee and a 50% deposit. When it came time for the walkthrough, the technician failed to show up during our scheduled window. No call, no text, nothing. When I reached out myself, I was told he had known most of the day he wouldn't make it but no one bothered to let me know. I stayed home from work for the appointment. When I raised the issue and asked for a discount to continue, they chose to terminate the project entirely rather than take any accountability. Weeks of my time wasted. If you value your time and expect basic communication from people you're paying, look elsewhere.

Wanting to give…read moremy family the Christmas gift of being able to enjoy records in our collection, I brought the turntable to Shelley's to have it restored to playing condition. Stan Zeiden, their analog specialist, not only restored it but also restored my appreciation for the unparalleled experience of sitting and listening to a record. He was honest and caring, and he wanted the best for me and my family. Talking to him on the phone felt great - like an old-fashioned telephone conversation seldom experienced these days. He asked what kind of stereo system we have, what kind of music we listen to, and fixed our turntable accordingly, making recommendations for a good cartridge and stylus, and later sold me a brush to care for our records. He also conveyed instructions on how to care for our system long-term. What's more? He managed to get it done before Christmas! My father, an audio engineer, sat with me and listened to Blood Sweat and Tears - it was the best listening experience I'd had in a LONG time. We're quite happy and I have since been back for a great set of cables and a fuse for one of our ADS L810 speakers. All of the staff at Shelley's have taken great care of me. I would highly recommend Shelley's and Stan for any of your high-quality audiophile listening needs.

The 1970's meets 2021. I have a Denon AV receiver that I have been using for my home theater…read moresystem. Although it sounds great for watching movies and TV shows and listening to music as well, I thought I would like to have a dedicated stereo Hifi system for just listening to music. I was a teenager in the late sixties and early seventies and like so many people of my generation, music was an important part of my life. Everyone I knew had a sound system which consisted of a receiver, a turntable, a cassette deck and speakers. However, a number of my close friends, who really took their music seriously, owned a Yamaha receiver and a pair of RSL studio monitor speakers. At the time and for the money (and at that age money was very limited), RSL speakers were the best you could buy. I remember visiting the RSL showroom and comparing the various speakers in their sound rooms. The obvious choice to so many people were the RSL speakers. So, as you can imagine, to my great surprise and delight, I was excited to see that RSL was back in the manufacturing and sale of speakers. Without any reservation or hesitation, I purchased a pair of CG3 speakers to use with my Denon receiver. Wow, do those speakers sound sweet! So, when I started putting together my stereo Hifi system, my search led me to Yamaha integrated amplifiers because of their continued reputation for good sound and high quality plus my own personal experience with them (they were a featured receiver at the RSL store). To go with my new setup, I decided to go with a pair of RSL CG5's. I ordered the speakers over the phone with Joe who helped me choose the right speakers. He was friendly, informative and he appreciated my business. The speakers arrived on my doorstep the next day (I live nearby). So it's in the details, while unboxing the speakers, I go to remove the protective fabric, when I notice that the tape holding it secure is folded over at one end making a pull tab for easy removal. WHAT THE ... ! If they're putting that kind of attention into the packaging, imagine what attention to detail they are putting into their speakers. Well, I have been listening to my new speakers for a few days now and I couldn't be happier. They sound wonderful. Late at night, I turn the Yamaha's variable loudness control knob a little more than half way to -30dB from FLAT and adjust the volume. The result is a rich, full sound that doesn't disturb the rest of the house. Thank you RSL with your help, I hit a home run. My setup is a Yamaha A-S501 Integrated Amp, a 1970's Technics SL-D2 Direct Drive Semi-Automatic turntable and a pair of RSL CG5 Bookshelf Speakers. I also use a Topping DX3 Pro+ DAC for streaming Hi Res music to my amp from my computer, phone and tablet. Thanks to RSL I'm reliving the seventies with the sound quality of today!

Watch out for the $40 "Wait and See" Tech Trap! I came to this Woodland Hills location after a…read morefrustrating experience at the Apple Store, looking for a straightforward answer regarding installing Microsoft Office 2024 on my Mac. Instead of honest help, the Geek Squad tech tried to set me up for a future payday. He gave me completely false information, claiming that installing the new retail version would automatically "overwrite" any old, broken license files on my Mac. He then gave me a specific expiration date telling me to "wait and see" what happens on July 8th when my old service expires, and told me that if it doesn't work, he could "uninstall and reinstall" it for me for $40. He clearly knew there would be a license conflict, but instead of telling me about the free Microsoft License Removal Tool that fixes it instantly, he chose to withhold the solution so I would experience a tech headache at home and feel forced to bring my Mac back in to give him $40. To make matters worse, simply uninstalling and reinstalling the apps doesn't even clear the hidden Mac system cache where the licensing error lives, meaning his $40 "fix" wouldn't have even worked. I trusted my gut, ignored his advice, and fixed the hidden license conflict myself at home for free using the proper tool. Don't fall for the smooth talk or the safety-net pitches at this location they are actively manufacturing problems to sell you services you don't need.
