But, as you've guessed, it all started to decline, while the rent increased (significantly). My mother was a fall risk, quite common with dementia patients; yet, she had numerous falls/injuries, usually to her head (forehead, eyes, chin, nose, lips), as well as to her arms, legs; indeed, several falls required visits to the ER [for CT scans]. At first, I just accepted this as the norm, nothing you can do, just pray that it's not a serious injury to her hip [or head]. But it kept happening, and far too often, imho; from mid 2022 thru this year, she kept having falls, several which I think were simply due to the lack of staff to watch/prevent such accidents. Now, understand that I visited my mother every week while she was a resident; the first year, I came on Sundays; over time, certainly in the past 12-14 months, I came every Friday, and/or Saturday, if I felt the need. I had a good opportunity to see what was changing over those years. I definitely agree that staffing levels declined; sometime in mid 2022, certainly early 2023, I noticed that several key personnel had left the memory care unit. And, at least over the past 12 months, I noticed that the upkeep of the memory care unit was on the decline. Nothing major, just little things, like waste bins being filled [even when I came back a day later]; or the kitchenette floor not being clean [after several hours]; carpet stains; and furniture that was worn, slightly damaged. As far as care management, I think the staff tried their best to keep an eye on everyone, but, there were some occasions when no one was available and I would see someone who needed assistance. Usually I walked up to the nurse window and notified them, or one of the other staff. Now, as I said earlier, rents increased dramatically; the monthly rent on my mother's studio (private room), which was quite reasonable back in 2021, had a ~25% increase 1Q/2022; 10 months later, another increase, ~15%. Understand that rent doesn't cover personal needs (i.e., hair, nails, feet), or sundries (i.e., soap, shampoo, toothpaste, mouthwash); these are all paid out-of-pocket, in addition to the rent. I realize that it's difficult to maintain a care facility in times like these, without cost increases. But I didn't see any significant improvement to my mother's care, much less her surroundings, despite these major price increases. So I think you'll understand when I say that I cannot recommend HarborChase Wellington Crossing for your loved one. I advise you seek care at another facility, and there's plenty to choose from in the Lake Worth area.

With dozens to choose from, in the specific area we were looking at, definitely made this process even more difficult. Allegro Senior Living was highly recommended to us and when we visited the facility it certainly did not disappoint. We had the privilege of meeting Mary Adams at Allegro who spent a tremendous amount of time with us. We toured the facility, spoke to staff and shared our story. We asked dozens of questions and shared our concerns. Mary was warm, knowledgeable and so transparent about expectations for a loved ones transition to a senior living facility. After visiting many other communities and reviewing our choices, we immediately knew that Allegro Senior Living would be the perfect living arrangement for our mom. The facility is immaculate, nicely appointed, has lovely grounds, is intimate in size and has an abundance of amenities and activities for those that choose to participate. The residents and staff are kind and welcoming. Our mother has been in Allegro for a month and the community has certainly continued to please us. She loves her apartment and raves about the dining selections and quality of the food. The administration, with Erica Cohen at its helm, Angela, head of nursing services and Mary Adams, are all very accessible when we have had questions or concerns. The entire staff has been so helpful to assist in acclimating our mother to her new living arrangement and has made us all feel at ease. Our mother is happy! If you and your family members are looking for a beautiful facility for your loved one, please take time to visit Allegro in Boynton Beach. Though not the newest facility we visited, Allegro Senior Living is definitely the best in the area if you are looking for a wonderful caring community for your loved one.

I accompanied my friend, who wants to be proactive about aging, memory, and possibility of disease. We didn't wait very long after checking in, and we were escorted to a private office of one of their staff members, who was very informative, with a calming, patient, and kind manner. She explained the process to us, had us sign multiple forms, and answered all of our questions. Not sure how often we will be returning while we wait for test results. p.s. Would love a water tank in the waiting area!

No mention that you had to come first for 1-1/2 hour interview, then come back ANOTHER day which is another 30mi round trip, for the actual blood draw. If you don't need the trial, why do that process backwards? You may not be a risk and it was supposed to show if something to worry about in 10-15 years. Woman on the phone said they want to know what doctor, what insurance, etc. WHY if it is FREE? does not match what we were told when asking questions how this place works and she hung up. Disappointed this is not at all what we expected. Nothing ever as easy as they make it sound .
