CNAs act like they're doing you a favor by responding to your pendant call button. Half the time they pretend they can't understand you. If you yell, and i have a speech impediment, so often it's what i have to do, they will say they're trying to help. But i say, well then get out of your own way. The other day, i was being wheeled across the facility and you'd have thought it was a coffee hour. There was the fierce sense of urgency of maybe someday we'll mosey our way over there.

Allegro Senior Living was highly recommended to us and when we visited the facility it certainly did not disappoint. We had the privilege of meeting Mary Adams at Allegro who spent a tremendous amount of time with us. We toured the facility, spoke to staff and shared our story. We asked dozens of questions and shared our concerns. Mary was warm, knowledgeable and so transparent about expectations for a loved ones transition to a senior living facility. After visiting many other communities and reviewing our choices, we immediately knew that Allegro Senior Living would be the perfect living arrangement for our mom. The facility is immaculate, nicely appointed, has lovely grounds, is intimate in size and has an abundance of amenities and activities for those that choose to participate. The residents and staff are kind and welcoming. Our mother has been in Allegro for a month and the community has certainly continued to please us. She loves her apartment and raves about the dining selections and quality of the food. The administration, with Erica Cohen at its helm, Angela, head of nursing services and Mary Adams, are all very accessible when we have had questions or concerns. The entire staff has been so helpful to assist in acclimating our mother to her new living arrangement and has made us all feel at ease. Our mother is happy! If you and your family members are looking for a beautiful facility for your loved one, please take time to visit Allegro in Boynton Beach. Though not the newest facility we visited, Allegro Senior Living is definitely the best in the area if you are looking for a wonderful caring community for your loved one.

The residents have small apartments of their own unless they are in memory care where they may share an apartment. There are 3 meals a day, cleaning and laundry service for each resident. There are also varied activities during the day. Plus a beautiful patio. The staff is friendly and ready to give assistance when needed. It is a good choice when looking for a loved one that needs extra care!

Residents are mostly quite unwell and seem unhappy /unfriendly. The food is mediocre at best. The building is large, so residents who are a distance from the "activities room" can feel isolated; the design is not conducive to interacting and making friends. One of the two main lobbies, on the far side of the building, has been permanently closed. This entrance is unavailable to residents whose apartments are near it; instead, they have to walk a long way through the whole building to get to their apartments.

I relocated my loved one a year ago from her home in California to the Memory Care Facility. The Health and Wellness Director, Rosita Taylor, met with us and held both of our hands through the transition. Throughout the year, Rosita has remained a constant in my loved one's care. Helen Altieri, the Executive Director, helped me switch my loved one's health insurance from Kaiser, which is only in California, to one that is in Florida. Helen's door is always open if I have any questions. The nurses who work in the memory care unit, Dorothy and Gurdy, are compassionate and loving and ensure my loved one is properly cared for each day. I've witnessed them and the nurse's aides, hold my loved one's hand and walk and talk with her. The Clare Bridge Program Manager, Yvette Montoya, has made a drastic improvement in my loved one's life. Yvette knows how to interact with dementia patients and improve thier quality of life and has even gone the extra mile to set up a support group for family members. Every staff member has gone out of their way to help me cope with the struggles of being responsible for a loved one with dementia. The receptionists, Lovely, Luz, and Alyssa, welcome me by name each time I visit and ask how I am doing. This past year has been an emotional rollercoaster for me personally and I thank everyone at Brookdale West Boynton Beach for their love and compassion. I do not believe any other Assisted Living Facility would have provided the same kind of support that my loved one and I have received here. I strongly recommend Brookdale West Boynton Beach!

They were supposed to do basic things like shower her, help her get dressed, give her her meds, and get her to the dining room to eat her meals. They failed in just about every category and completely neglected her. My family would come visit at 4 pm on a weekday (multiple times) and she would still be in bed in her pajamas, not having eaten a thing. Every day I called her in the afternoon (i live in another state) and she would still be in ned, late in the day. The only thing they did was give her her meds. We have since moved her to a different facility and there is a stark difference. They are getting her up every morning and dressed, then to breakfast, they give her her meds, and they even called me today to suggest that we buy her more pants as the weather is turning cool.I had a new bed frame and guard rails delivered and before I could even get a handyman over there, they had put it together and sent me photos. They have her playing games all afternoon and she is thriving. I tried to work with the staff and management at Bella Mar for way too long and they gave me every excuse under the sun as to why my mother was in bed all day, with no meals. The bottom line is this - RUN from this facility and take your money and loved one elsewhere.

Right off the bat they assigned him to the "wrong team," which postponed the care he should have received. Then it took a couple of days for the physician to come evaluate him. The last straw was when the team advised me that he "wasn't ready" for additional services, including a nurse to be there with him. Finally, my request was approved and he died a few hours later. That alone would tell a reasonable person that he was ready for the additional services when I first requested it. It would have made his transition much more comfortable and humane. To top it off, it took many days for the physician to prepare the death certificate so I could have my dad's body cremated. I would not recommend this company at all for your loved one. This happened seven years ago and I still feel guilty that I let my dad down.
