Awful manicure. Only took 5 minutes.. If that tells you the time and effort put into it. Said it was my fault because I came in with a dark color on. Shouldn't they be able to remove all color? This was the worst customer service I have ever experienced. Mine was painful and rushed. And my daughter......who was getting married the next day.... Was asked to go to 4 different people to finally get her services completed. And it was a sloppy job. Helpful hint Talk to your clients. Stop talking amongst yourselves. Upscale looking place and they did a very good job removing my silk wrap from my nails without damaging the length or causing any pain. It is more expensive than NY prices but I was in the area and needed a removal. The staff is talkative as well. They take card and I paid 10 bucks to get the wrap removed. I may go back if necessary but most likely I will get my nails done in NY before I come down for a visit. read more

I came here for a gel manicure and pedicure last weekend. Made a reservation but didn't need it. They have 10 chairs and nail stations. They are responsibly priced - $30 for gel and $28 for pedicure. A bit pushy about paying cash (they have a special reward program) but I declined and used my card but left cash tip. I would go back as the work has held up nicely. read more

My first time to this salon and I was very impressed. Very clean and polite. I came in at 2pm on a Saturday and was seated right away. I had the classic manicure and pedicure with an eyebrow wax. The staff was extremely professional! They are cash tip only so make sure you bring that with you. They also offer a rewards program with I have never seen with a salon before! read more

Very disappointed. Chose this salon for its location as I was out and needed to get my nails trimmed. I also relied on a few good reviews. However the technician took only about 5 minutes with me....rushed through the manicure and then charged me $17 for the Deluxe Manicure. Nice place. They sat me immediately, a little pricey. I asked for a basic pedicure, without looking at the "price book" and I accidentally wore a pair of pants I thought I could pull up (I know that's my fault) and they still charged $28 for half of the service. Also reading other reviews I was happy when someone said you could add a tip when paying with a credit card, but that is NOT true. Not impressed and will not go back. Went in for a classic pedicure. The lady providing my pedicure put the brochure in my face three times asking me if I wanted to upgrade to the Spa pedicure. I got annoyed then. Not a comfortable experience and polish is already coming off. read more

got a mani-pedi yesterday, used to be 35, they charged me 40. There were 3 people switching between me and three other people (EW) and one of them wasn't even wearing gloves. Typical crap salon...had an appointment for a pedicure ans took me 25 minutes late...needed some extra attention on my heels the guy did nothing extra and cut my toe in the process. Pay the extra $$ and find a legitimate nail salon this place is awful. read more

I went to this salon based on its reviews but I was thoroughly disappointed. Everything I asked the women did the opposite of. To make matters worse she cut my cuticles down so far they bled. She even stopped midway through my manicure to make a phone call. I will not be returning. read more

I went here for the first time recently and had a really nice experience. I had a mani/pedi and I liked that they do both at the same time so you get out of the salon faster. The woman who did my nails was very friendly and kind. I chose a dark polish and so I was happy she made my nails nice and short just how I like them and cleaned up any stray marks before I left without asking. Massage chairs were new and incredible and they let you keep the chair on the whole time (I've been to places that want you to turn off while they do polish). Prices were reasonable (35 bucks for both mani and pedi) and you can both pay and tip with a credit card. I will definitely be back! read more

Pedicure ended up with an infection! Started off with cold water and when mentioned it was cold barely added enough hot water to make it warm. When scraping my feet didn't do a good job at all, left foot trying to scrap skin off big toe ended up scraping a spot under big toe raw and on top of that big toe got infected as well. Elegance Nail Spa is the only place I go for pedicures and acrylic nails. You don't need an appointment, but they do take them. It's rare that I've had to wait for a seat. The staff are friendly and helpful. They do NOT use "cheese grater" files or other damaging implements but still leave your feet soft. My fingernails are always perfect. Can't count the number of compliments I've received about them. read more

I've been to this salon several times, since I'm new in town and it's close to my home. I have tried different nail techs each time to try to find someone who will do a good job. None will file my nails square, the way I like them, even though I actually show them a picture of how I want them done. This last time, the nail tech (who is also the manager and stated she has done nails for 16 years) was very rushed and did not give me much of her attention. My nails turned out bumpy and very thick. She has done nails for 16 years. I am very disappointed and will not return. read more

Pedicure bath water was barely warm, almost cold, and the massage was so weak from both the man giving the pedicure and the woman giving the manicure it felt like a waste of time. DON'T GO HERE!!!!! Went in for a pedicure & manicure it was awful. The lady rushed through my pedicure. My toes was painted very sloppy. The very next day my polish started coming off my finger nails. The top coat wasn't polished on properly which is probably one of the reasons my polish started peeling the next day. Just after I had my first baby, my mom kindly gave me a gift certificate from Elegance Nails for a manicure and pedicure ($35 value). Though the salon is about 20 minutes from my house, my mom, a frequent customer, was excited to give me a chance to get away while she watched my baby at her house. Needless to say, it took me a little while to find the opportunity to use it. I went this week and after enjoying a manicure/pedicure, I handed my nail tech the gift certificate and a 20% tip. A moment later, another employee handed the certificate back to me and explained that it had "expired." Confused, as I would never imagine a gift certificate would expire (certainly a coupon, but not a gift certificate), I looked closely, and sure enough, the certificate stated that it expired 6 months after the date my mom purchased it. I politely explained to the woman that neither I nor my mom had any idea that the gift certificate had an expiration date, that my mother had paid in full for it, and asked her nicely if she would honor it. She refused and said I should have called to have the expiration date "extended" beforehand. Obviously, this wasn't possible considering I hadn't noticed it. I respectfully conveyed my dissatisfaction with their "policy" and asked that the manager, who was not in the salon that day, to please call me. I also asked the employee if it was worth losing customers to not accept the certificate. My mother called later in the day to ask for a call from the manager as well. Neither of us has received a call back. The real kicker is that my mom had also bought a gift certificate for my sister (another $35 one) for when she she is in town visiting from Georgia. Her certificate is now also expired, as her visits to Richmond are few and far between. Elegance Nails should have made their expiration policy more clear to my mom when she bought the certificates. They should have honored my certificate or at least made some sort of concession given their ridiculous policy which really boils down to blatant opportunism on their part. Shouldn't they be concerned with customer satisfaction? They had nothing to lose, financially, by honoring our "expired" certificates; however, they will certainly lose future business from us. I believe that my mom was robbed of $70. read more

I had to rate it with one star just to post a review. I went to Elegance Nails today to get a manicure. I was told to go to this employee's station. I passed it and went to the back of the salon to select a polish. The woman whom was to do my manicure stopped me to sit at her station and I explained I was going to pick out a polish. She did this again and I explained I need to go back up front to get my purse. This should have been a warning sign. She did a horrible job on my natural nails. I asked her to stop and I would pay her and re-do my nails at home. She called the owner over and I showed her how thick and streaky the polish was on my nails. They added thinner to the jar and this woman added two additional coats. Three nails are not even completely covered with polish. Upon checking out I told the owner I would not return. She told me she remembered I used to come into her salon all the time and to please come back. She said this woman was new at the salon but has been doing nails for years. The person who did my manicure also kept watching the front like she wanted to rush on my service in case another customer came in! Oh and she did not even talk to me. I had to ask her a couple questions and it was like she didn't even hear me speak to her. I will not return. I have been going to Tops Nails for a couple years and they are fabulous! read more
