Nortex Painting We…read morehired Nortex Painting to paint our kitchen cabinets for $4,000. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing from start to finish. We were originally told the cabinet doors would be painted in the garage. Later we were told there was not enough room -- even though we provided the same amount of space inside the kitchen. This change was never clearly explained. The primer used was extremely strong and toxic. The fumes were so intense that our eyes watered and we had difficulty breathing. We were never advised to ventilate the home properly or consider staying elsewhere during this stage of the project. We were also told the cabinets would be thoroughly washed and prepped before painting. That did not appear to happen. Additionally, the cabinet doors were hung from the top during painting, which left visible punch holes. They should have been hung from the bottom to avoid damage. After the job was completed, we requested the owner come inspect the work. His response to our concerns was that "there was only one person who was ever perfect," which did not address the issues we raised. Communication was also difficult, as the workers did not speak English and we were unable to discuss concerns directly during the project. Overall, we expected a professional, properly prepped cabinet job for $4,000 and did not feel the quality matched the price.

Excellent work.  Plan to contact them again for another project.  After much research, it was…read morenarrowed down to 3 companies and received quotes from each.  The quotes were within $100 of each other, so that was not a deciding factor.  With each, we walked through every room and pointed out work to be done to include patch, repair and paint.  Our decision was made when Jason from NorTex really listened to what WE wanted done instead of dwelling on the way they usually handle it. One separation and crack was deep and long, and we wanted to replace the sheetrock instead of patching the crack.  Jason said yes and spoke with knowledge about how it would be done and the expertise his crew had in blending the new material invisibly into the wall, especially one skilled worker who could spray on the texture to match.  And it does.  Thomas did a beautiful job.  Jason also recommended a paint with a very low matte finish to blend in with our existing.  Some of the newer paints, even classified as matte, have more of a sheen which would reflect the light in a way that was different from our other paints.  He came by each day to check on the job and was easy to reach, responding quickly.  When he wasn't here, we could communicate effectively in English with the group leader, Thomas.  Finally, they exhibited respect for our property and happily moved furniture and other items, and cleaned up everything when they left.  Would recommend them highly.

I had about 1000 sq ft of ceiling painted and part of it was repaired. Texture was matched and looked perfect. I can barely tell there was a hole in my ceiling. Only reason why I didn't rate a 5/5 was because of dealing with Phil. He called out the shoddy paint job that was on there before. He claimed that he had attention to detail and that's what mattered; to not worry about it and that they would do better. So come around the time the job was done, they forgot to put a stain blocker on a stain they were painting over and his excuse was that no one is perfect and that they did their best. Definitely not someone that should be working there and making such statements, especially when customers are seeking perfection if not close to it when it comes to painting and repairs. If it wasn't for Brant, I definitely would of gone crazy. He worked with me and was understanding to the whole situation. He even took time off his own weekend to check up on the job. Over all, you should definitely move forward and give them a try. Even if the job goes south, you can trust that Brant will make sure you end up happy.

He spent time to properly tape off areas, covered flooring and loved all furniture and covered with plastic.. his crew kept the entire home clean and everyone was responsive and courteous. He sanded and also consulted on the type of paint for each surface. I called for changes and he responded promptly.. the entire process was seamless! I've hired him twice now, once in a 5,500 square ft home and this high end condo of over 2,000 sq ft. Both customers were extremely happy with the process, cleanliness and end result!
