Kaitlyn helped me pick out these beautiful, colorful flower six-packs for my garden, and was very friendly and patient while helping me decide which ones would look best together. The plants were healthy, vibrant, and reasonably priced. I can't wait to get them planted. The team also helped carry everything out to my car and asked whether I needed plastic to protect the trunk from the dirt since I didn't have a truck. We are on the hunt for small, interesting succulent plants for a project. I had called Elegant Garden Nursery by phone ahead of time to ask about what they stock for sun loving succulents. The woman on the phone was very helpful, so I put them on the list to visit. The other afternoon, Dear Hubby and I stopped by, ready to load up on plants. Unfortunately, their selection was very minimal on that day. They were expecting more in the next day or two, they said. We picked out a few, but it really wasn't what we were hoping for or needed. On the other hand, if we had been in the market for a wide variety of other plants, trees, shrubs, or flowers we would have been in luck. They have a lot of beautiful pansies right now, for example. Noting that if you are coming from west to east, their sign isn't visible, so you might need an assist from GPS. They share a driveway with an equestrian business. A very beautiful nursery and growing grounds. Sales staff always very knowledgable and quite helpful in selecting plant material. They have golf carts available to drive you around the grounds and selected plants are placed into the rear carry area of the golf cart. Upon returning to the main area/parking lot, sales person writes up the purchase and you go pay inside the building. While this transaction is completed, all your plants will be loaded into your car/truck, with a plastic floor lining. Selection from annuals to large specimens, flowers and vegetables. Of course, they also have soil amendments and fertilizers to meet the needs of your new plants. I'll give you multiple reasons why not to buy from Elegant Garden Nursery, Inc. We purchased multiple plants from Elegant on recommendation of our Landscaper and friend who was redoing our front yard from the pomegranates and mess we moved into when we bought the house to artificial turf, palms, etc. We had been told by the grounds manager we had a year should we have any issues when we inquired and happy with how their plants looked. We purchased four palms in total and six Litilope Gigantea; being a veteran they told us to come back Thursday we would receive a military discount. Plants went in, turf done, house looked great. Shortly after one of the Pygmy Palms with three trunks started having two of the trunks start dying, one of them thriving; the other palms doing great. I brought this up to the nursery and they asked if it was being watered enough; yes, per advice of our landscaper we kept the soil moist, but not damp or soaked. Properly fertilized away from the plants as instructed as well. We had been emailing back and forth with Juliana as well as speaking on the phone. She said the General Manager would come out, which he gave repeated excuses that he couldn't make it despite us living 5.9 miles and 15 minutes from the nursery. We were then told he came out and could not find anything wrong with the soil or the palm (see images). Note that we have cameras and he NEVER came. In fact, no one had come to our home when we looked back over two and a half weeks of footage from the day after Juliana said he had come out. We were then told they can give a modest discount on a replacement palm. We spent nearly $1,000 at this nursery before discount (just over $800 after). We also have another backyard project planned with over $4,000 in plants we looked at during one of our previous visits to Elegant. Instead of saying "hey, we understand, let's take care of you" they have just blown us off, Juliana has stopped responding and promises to call back never happen. Home Depot and Lowe's for the exact same size plans are a fraction of the price, and carry a no questions asked 1 year warranty with receipt and pot. In fact, the exact same size palm (not pot) that cost us $268 with a Veteran's Discount Elegant cost $69.98 at Home Depot and $49.99 at Lowe's before a 10% Military Discount. The palm that cost us $68 with Veteran's Discount at Elegant costs $19.98 before a 10% discount at Home Depot and Lowe's. At this time, we are just going to settle this issue with Elegant Gardens Nursery, Inc. in small claims and give Lowe's or Home Depot, and/or another nursery our business since this company has no idea how to care for their customers. As to those few reasons: 1. An employee of Elegant Gardens Nursery, Inc. lied to us in regards to a guarantee when we purchased the plants. 2. Their plant half died, but will not support you when it does. 3. Their General Manager for the nursery and/or Juliana lied as the General Manager never came to our home. We have cameras and motion sensors all around the home, as well as dogs and neighbors who watch out for each other. 4. While Elegant Gardens Nursery, Inc. has great customer service when you're there, the severely lack and void of customer support once they have your money. 5. Juliana said she spoke with the owner, and even the owner decided to ignore the issue. read more

Very friendly. The grounds are beautifully kept. They didn't have a tree we wanted. But they ordered it and called us the next day. Also if you're looking for garden vegetable plants. They keep theirs in the sun so no need to harden them off before you plant them. If you have not been there in a while. You really might want to try it again. read more

I purchased 40 Eugenia shrubs that are $75 each ($125 if they are special ordered) for 15 gallon tree/shrubs. I chose the 12 at the nursery that were 6' tall and told them I needed a total of 40 same size and type and they said they'd have them ordered and ready for my gardener to pick up. When the gardener brought them to my home only half of them were 6' the other 3-1/2' to 4'. Gardner told me they would grow quick. After 5 days we called the nursery because about 5 of them didn't look so good and didn't appear to be thriving. We were told there is a 24 hour return policy and they wouldn't even give us any type of credit for other plants we would be buying, including a couple trees. I spent almost $3,000 here, I'm very disappointed at the customer service and lack of integrity for what this nursery sells. They claim to be a specialty nursery, but no returns after 24 hours? Needless to say I went elsewhere (Saticoy Nursery in the San Fernando Valley) where they had the same shrubs, taller and thicker for only $45 each 15 gallon bucket. Pictures are current (November 2021) after I have been nursing the bad shrubs and you can see comparison of ones I had picked out. Not very nice sending me inferior from what I picked out and then not willing to return or credit. My daughter is 5'2" and these were planted back in April and photos are current. Far from 6' tall! Why do people come here?! I guess same reason I did, assuming I was getting better prices and better plants because it was a wholesale nursery. Most of the staff was helpful and friendly that's what I'll say positively. Most all of the 30 plants I purchased from here look pitiful now, and it's not due to poor gardening, my Home Depot and Lowe's plants look fabulous - who would have thought?! Apparently I've read other comments and they have some small time frame you can return plants in, which I can understand to a point, but when you get as many as I did and they almost all look awful, something is wrong with the nursery. read more

If k could give this place a zero I would. The plants arrived all dead ! I placed a 4500 order all of which were either dead or dying. The driver who came to pick them up apologized for the horrible condition but said they told him to send the plants anyway. The few plants that I kept died in 5 days so the entire order is dead. They refused to acknowledge it - said no more refunds and the woman said we don't stand by our plants once they leave here. I have landscaped at least 6 homes and not once have plants arrived dead. I have been wanting to write this for quite a while now. Please double check the items you buy. I went in to buy French Lavander and I was sold a different type of lavender. When I went to return it a day later, the manager said she wouldn't even when I showed a receipt. She was flippant and didn't care since it was one plant. When I pushed she said "it doesn't matter if we lose one customer." To the owners, your manager said this. Feel free to email me if you want more. I would be concerned with a manager's response like the one above. It peeves me I trusted this company to provide a plant and it wasn't the one. Now, I know to go elsewhere since we are redoing our backyard. It sucks but I think what the manager said is more telling than anything. I will never forget it. read more

I usually love my visits to Elegant Gardens. They have good selection and fair prices. My first negative experience there was yesterday, with an employee named Keith. I had questions about trees. He responded in a condescending tone each time, as if he had much more important things to do and that I was wasting his time with simple questions. When it was time to put things in the back of my truck, I told him that there was already stuff in there, in case it would be a problem. Again, in the same condescending tone, he replied that he had done this many times, and "knew what he was doing." I didn't say another word to him. Paid the nice young lady at the check stand and left. Maybe he was having a bad day. People do. They just have to remember not to let it show to their customers. read more

I went there late last month, around noon. I walked around the place looking for someone to help me. I just had a few questions.2 employees were with other customers. I went inside the office and asked if someone could help me. I was told sure and she paged somebody and asked me to wait. I did. After about 10-15 minutes, I went back and asked again. We happened upon Elegant Garden Nursery by chance and we're so glad we went! We had excellent help from Sennin and highly recommend him. He was knowledgeable, patient, and very passionate about his work. He gave us tips and tricks for caring for our plants at home, as well as what we purchased today. We got exactly what we wanted and more! It could not have been any better of an experience. Delivery is a stellar deal as well. While they do have a wide selection of items, it's just not worth dealing with the rude customer service at the desk. We asked for help loading our trees up, provided a tarp and everything so the largest tree wouldn't be damaged on the way back home. They assured us it would be totally fine, but more than half the leaves blew off on the way home. The tree has since died, even though it was planted right away and well taken care of. I called the nursery to see if they had a guarantee, and was rudely told that they don't know what I did to the tree once it got home. No apology, no suggestions, nothing. That's just not how you treat someone who has given you thousands of dollars in business. So disappointing. read more

I went to Elegant Garden Nursery on June 2nd around 4pm before closing. My gardener told me to pick up a 5 gallon plant for the back yard. The helper there said he had no 5 gallon plants to take a 15 gallon. I said if it doesn't fit can I bring it back - he said said, no problem. My garden came Saturday and said, too big won't fit. Today is the 8th on a Monday and I called the nursery - they said NO. Myself personally, this is the type of company that has little or no concern about their customers. I wanted to return it and find something else smaller and they weren't sure and they would need to charge me. The plant has not been touched, still in the 15 gallon container, I picked it up and they want to charge me......wow, can't wait to scratch them off my list and share my experience. Love the inventory of specimen trees... even now, during "winter," they have excellent options and reasonable prices. Do know that customers wanting some trees, most plants, and soils can get military and senior discounts during the week. I gave 2 stars because the guy who helped load up our car was nice and helpful. 12:00pm on January 30th - with "holiday hours" clearly posted in multiple places: "close at 4:30." The counter girl told me and my husband they were closing in a few minutes and we'd have to hurry up. "What time do you close?" We asked. Only to met with no clear answer. In our first 15 minutes there we had already loaded up 2 flat carts full of plants. We were headed to shady section to pick out even more plants. They were closed and we would have to finish up, we were told. I've never been thrown out of any place I was spending hundreds of dollars at. Never. While we were paying for our items a customer called in. "Should we answer?" Said one clerk to the other. She ended up answering. The fella on the phone asked "are you open?" "Well yes, but we are closing very soon" the woman said. The man on the phone stated he was outside the gate and verified the nursery closed at 1:30. "Well yes," she said "but we were slow so the owner wanted us to close up". That's a quote. Slow?! You're not slow. You're kicking paying customers out of your store. That's not slow. The $80 we spent wasn't even a tenth of what we came to purchase. It's not even a whisper of the money we would have spent in future visits. How on earth can you justify asking a paying customer to finish up so that you can close... when you're closing early with no warning?! We weren't browsing. We were buying, and buying A LOT! The attitude of the girl up front was every bit as lovely as you can imagine. She wanted to go home and nobody and no amount of money was gonna stop her. So we obliged and left and felt bad for the guy who drove all the way there expecting they'd close at 1:30. She didn't care that he was outside the gate. Heck, she didn't want our business either. And we were already inside the gate! So on behalf of the guy who drove all the way there to be turned away at the gate a full hour before closing... I write this review. On behalf of the owner of this business who lost hundreds of dollars in sales on a slow day... I write this review. Don't throw paying customers out the door because you wanna go home early. You have no idea who you're throwing out or turning away. Could be a customer with a huge landscaping project, a huge garden and an organic gardening business. You never know. NEVER order sod for delivery from these people. We ordered sod and were told delivery would be the next day between 1 and 3 pm. At 330 we calked and were told delivery would be between 1 and 6 pm. At 730 pm still no sod and mow no one at the nursery. They got over $900 from us and we got zip. They wanted the entire balance up front. 13 hours past 2 nd promised delivery time. They never ordered the sod. Additionally, they could care less that we had crews waiting Friday afternoon and Saturday morning to lay the sod. Finally talked to a manager. Sod should be here first thing in the afternoon. He did not jerk us around. On the positive side, they do have a very large selection of plants. read more

I'm so disappointed that one of the biggest nurseries near me is such a dud in customer service/experience. I have given it a few tries and each time I say to myself "why did I come back here?". Bottom line, you're either escorted around in golf carts or not helped much at all and nothing has prices! If you're escorted, the driver has a price list to tell you the price when you ask. I don't like the feeling of someone waiting on me in the golf cart while I get out and look around. I would like to be left alone to take my time and see things for myself. However, I will say this...I think golf carts are a great idea for those that are disabled, prefer not to walk, or know exactly what they want to get in and out quickly. So here are my last three experiences: Last weekend I went to the office to ask where Boston Ivy is located. She said "I think it's across the way" and another man said "over there". Seriously? Do you know how big your nursery is? Could I not get "go across the gravel parking lot, go left at the aisle, then right at such and such or left at this section."? Well I walked "over there", didn't see it, gave up, and went home. There's no happy medium...you're escorted or good luck finding what you need! The time before, I was escorted, put a bunch of silverberry on hold only to find out later in the day they never held them. I would have come unglued if they had sold them to someone else but luckily no one wanted them. The time before that I was also escorted and was worried for the safety of my father in the back seat. Please don't drive so fast that I worry about my father falling out on a turn. Perhaps that's why you don't encourage walking around on your own because you'll get run over by one of your drivers??? With these kinds of experiences and no prices labeled, I promise I won't be going back unless you change how business is conducted. Want to be a stellar nursery? Let me help you because goodness knows I would love another nursery to go to! First, greet me and give me the option of whether I would like a golf cart with a driver or to just explore on my own. Have prices (and competitive prices! Don't gouge the home gardener because you're not the only rodeo in town or online for that matter) and plant names on EVERY single pot. Go one step further and have descriptions and care required for the plant. Have huge signs with categories for each section such as "Fruit trees" or "Vines". Your land is so vast, you could even give people a map with the sections labeled so people can easily find their way around. Oh, and if you're worried that your contractors won't like the prices, tell them first thing "it's XX percent off the price you see listed on the pot." They can figure it out. I am hopeful the owner of Elegant Gardens will see this review and not be one of those stubborn, arrogant business owners that think they are perfect the way they are. Accept you have some serious flaws and need change. I look forward to the day those changes come about because I would be a regular customer. read more

This place used to be great to buy plants as a contractor and many of my friends I have recommended over the years to go there used to rave about it. However. Over the last year or so, Managment seems to have become greedy. Let me explain: today (my last time I spend my money there), I sent an employee to buy 22 rose bushes. To bring to a job site for our client. (My employee is not the sharpest tool). Angel, the manager, sold my employee stakes rose stalks. And pretty much retailed them to him. Even though my employee has a card with my company name on it. But whatever. On arrival at the job site. I took the roses on my truck and went back to elegant gardens to return the things and buy the correct material. I was informed by angel that the company normally charges a 20% restocking fee. News to me bc I had returned a few items in 2018 without this being the case. (Spent approximately 25,000.00 in plants in 2018 at this place. BY THE WAY). "But, bc you are a good customer, I am not going to charge you this fee", I was told by angel. So, I thanked him and awaited my new receipt and refund. Angel Asked me to sign my refund which was done wrong. I was being shorted and pointed this out to him. He redid the math and basically came back full circle to me being shorted AGAIN. So I asked why are you shorting me the tax money you charged me on the previous sale? That needs to be returned to me (sale was close to 500.00 dollars). Angel told me he could not refund that money. I asked why and he simply said he had to keep it. I can only assume that he steals this money from the company or from the unsuspecting clients? Either way. I was F d out of nearly 40 bucks of my hard earned money. And I was not happy. I told angel to shove the money and took off was really mad that he would back track on no restocking fee and that he would lose me as a customer after I spent so much money there over the last 11 years Nor to mention the endless amounts of friends and family I have sent there Wow. Incredibly knowledgable staff and amazing products to choose from. I have been going here for years and decided during quarantine to completely revamp and build veggie garden boxes. Again, I returned to Elegant gardens where people were helpful and the product was excellent! My plants have been in ground now for a few weeks and they have continued to thrive. I did return with some "newbie" questions and I was given helpful guidance. They will always have my patronage. I now have a beautiful flower/tree garden as well as edible garden! read more
