Horrible experience here with one of the nail techs. If you see anyone here, go with Vee. I took a chance with another tech because Vee was booked and $90 plus $20 tip later, I regret it. Honestly, I shouldn't have left the salon, but I called to let them know I was dissatisfied and they offered to have me come back on another day to redo the polish and try and fix the acrylic. This place is a scam!! I booked online for a nail set that was going to be $45 and when I went to pay they charged me $65 for the most basic set of nails. I was given the shellac with no question whether I wanted the up charge or not. When I questioned the price I was met with disdain. There was no effort to help change the price or even for me to speak to a manager. The manager watched the interaction and did not approach at all. It is illegal to post one price, and charge another. I booked online and was never once told a different price. I would not recommend this place to anyone. read more

Actually so so horrible. I got my nails done here 2 MONTHS and my nails are still trying to heal from it. I hated the way they came out and got blindly up-charged so bad it was horrible enough already but I didn't want to write a review because I thought the nail tech was new and didn't want to cause problems. If I could give 0 stars I would. So bad I had them remove the polish and left with no polish. Walk in and not only am I feeling rushed to pick what I want to get, also giving me no time to pick a color. She starts cutting my cuticles and I notice that almost ever nail still has a significant amount of cuticle on them. I asked her to cut some again and still after I can noticeable see cuticles coming over my nail. My hand massage was all of maybe 2 minutes. Which was very upsetting part of the only reason I get my nails done. She goes to paint and clearly the polish is almost out instead of telling me she does the old put more filler in it. Comes back to paint immediately I notice it's super streaky, after the second coat I said to do one more or just take it off if it wouldn't get better. There was a language barrier so I had to attempt to use google translate. I said let's just take it off and try another color. The exact same thing happens. At this point I'm loosing it, tomorrow's my birthday and I could paint my nails better with my eyes closed. So I had them remove the paint and leave with just clear coat. The owner (or manager) came by and aggressively grabbed my nails started painting the top coat with pieces of cotton stuck to my nail still from removing the paint. I got my nails done for spring break about a month ago; a full set with pink French tip, and the service was less than an hour and they did since a beautiful job! very reasonably price and they're beyond nice. these nails survived everything and within the 3 weeks I've had them not even one came off. read more

I don't usually put companies on blast, but when I went to Elegant Nails Salon, LLC today to have them address the matter, they just made excuses & did nothing! Yesterday, when I was getting a pedicure I advised the lady who was doing the pedicure that the top of my foot was hurting from her using the pumice on the top of my foot. I showed her that it was turning red & asked her not to even rub the top of my foot anymore. My foot ached all night and today, along with the continued aching, it is clearly evident that she caused an abrasion on my foot. This has never happened before, but I will not be going back to this establishment. Giving no stars should be an option!! In response to Kevin at Elegant Nails, that is bullshit!! I never gave her permission to use an abrasive pumice on the top of my foot!! What sense does that make??? She is lying, she never said she was using it due to dry skin until today when I showed her my foot. Anyone should know how abrasive pumice is!! I know you're going to say whatever you want to in order to cover yourself & your "technician". What you should be doing is offering a refund, but you all are too greedy for that!! First I made an appointment for 3pm and sat there until almost 3:40pm until I was seated in front of a nail tech. Then I picked out color O66 and as you can see in the photo it is nothing like the color I picked out. I'm very disappointed seeing as I paid $50 for dip. I've been here twice, once for a pedicure and then today for a manicure. Both were average at best. I would not recommend getting a shellac manicure from here, during the curing of the nail after polished, the lamp was very hot - which I have never encountered at previous salons. The nail tech then proceeded to file my nails after the shellac polish had cured. This is crazy! Nail files destroy the edges of the polish, making it easier for them to chip and peel. The polish was also pretty poorly applied. Pretty disappointed in the manicure. read more

Alright ladies - I had been advised that Lansing was hit or miss. I didn't believe it until I went to Elegant Nails. Swing and a miss! I had them redo four of my ten nails for my manicure and still four of them have bump polish application. I think it's because 1. They don't wash your hands after the initial nail filing during the manicure and 2. They rush the drying of the shellac under the UV light. At my home nail place, they dry the nails under the light for 60-90 seconds between each application. I was dragging it out here, she tried to reapply polish after 20 seconds. This is a problem. And after the manicure she put a burning hot towel on my hands, which didn't remove all the dust. See the photos? That's in the car after the manicure. Do yourself a favor, don't try this place. It's not worth it. I see they responded- yes, I did tell the technician that the towel was too hot. Yes, I watched the timer, and the technician wanted me to remove my hands after less than 10 seconds. read more

My friend and I decided to give Elegant Nails a try before spring break as we heard good reviews around campus. I received a full set of gel nails with extensions the day before we left. These nails were not worth the hype or the $70 I paid (not including 15% tip). After 5 days of being on vacation they all began to lift and break off. In my experience, for that much I should have at least 2-3 weeks of wear. I would have been better off paying for press-ons. Service wise- I let my technician know that I'd like my nails to be shaped thin as possible as my natural nail bed is wide. Although I advise her I still went home and spent time shaping them. Along with that, I requested a french tip, my tech at first did not try to cover the whole extension- leaving me with half pink/half translucent coat and a thin tip that did not match. I understand that the customers requests are top priority, but as the nail artist you should be doing the best you can to make your customers ideas worthwhile. Other than that, service wasn't terrible and the salon was very clean. read more

I am reiterating my review because of the wholly incorrect response I received on my past post. This rating is fair. It was quiet when I walked in. No one said anything. I made eye contact with several people, including a gentleman who walked right by me, and no one said a word. Furthermore, even if someone did say hello to me it was very obvious I didn't hear because I didn't respond. Why would no one continue to try to get my attention? Because no one actually said hi. Or wanted my business apparently. I did go to the kiosk, after standing silently like an idiot at the front desk waiting for someone to say something. There was no option on the iPad for a walk in to check in. So I went to pick a color like I do at every other salon. I took my sweet time picking a color. Still nothing. This is when the gentleman got up to check out his client. He looked at me and continued to say nothing. The review is fair. You clearly did not want my business that day. That's no way to run a business and not fair to clients. So yes, one star. Maybe if I had gotten into a chair it would be a couple more stars. But I don't even know the quality of your work. I assume it is as good as your customer service: piss poor. read more

This place is such a beautiful place! It was eye candy from the moment you open the door. From the decor, to the comfortable chairs and throw pillows for extra support, to offering us the choice of water or wine, to the luxurious spa treatment. They really got the "treat you like a princess" idea down! As a treat, I brought my mom here to get a manicure and pedicure. (First off, my mother is not the easiest old lady to please) She was very happy with the way she was taken care of. They really listen to her and made her feel like a queen not just a client. We were there very early, we were probably their first customer of the day. The place is sparkling clean & very well kept. The equipments were kept sanitized. A one-time-use manicure/pedicure package for each client and throw away when done. They have a HHUUGGEEEEE selection of GEL and regular polishes!!!! I usually don't let my baby crawl all over public places, but this place was so clean that I felt safe letting her explore. She was also very happy. :) read more

I went to this nails salon about 2 weeks ago w/ my sister. We both wanted Fourth of July nails! We paid 110 dollars for two people to get acrylics. In my opinion that's a lot but I didn't look to see prices so that is partly my fault. Overall the nails look average and I don't think they were worth that much.. the service was ok. The guy doing my nails was a bit rude, I hadn't got my nails done since January so I was just getting used to it again. The guy was annoyed and kept pulling my hands extremely hard to show his anger. I will be seeing the lady who did my sisters nails next time. Just wanted to say that the nails are beautiful and are all still PERFECT after 2 weeks! I am someone who has a hard time spoiling myself. I asked my sister if she would go with me to get our nails done for my birthday. Well, my birthday was in January....and we finally made it to this salon last Friday, 3-22-19. It was pretty busy, and I remember feeling rushed. Rushed to decide what service I wanted, rushed to pick a color, rushed to approve the length. I had always felt that getting my nails done was supposed to be relaxing. This experience was anything but. After the tech cut and filed, and applied the gel fill- there was no washing of the hand. He continued to put the polish on. My hands felt dirty and "sandy". I was wondering if this is all that I was getting for $50. I left thinking it wasn't the best manicure I'd ever received, but I'd deal with it. As I drove away, I kept looking at them closer & in different lighting. The polish was heavier in some spots and not the others. The tips of the nails seemed slightly slanted/uneven and you can see that the polish is not covering my entire nail. I thought about messaging Elegant nails- and finally decided to. I really didn't want to make a fuss- but I paid $58 with tip (which was NOT deserved), and waited so long to spend that money on me. It wasn't fair that they turned out horribly. So I messaged them. The first message stated, "if you're not happy, we're not happy. Come in so we can fix them!" I was relieved that I didn't have to go around any longer with this mess on my hands. Well, it was short lived because in the morning, I received another message that pointed out ALL of the areas where I was in the wrong because of the service that I chose (they looked it up, but stated I had acrylic- which wasn't true) A tone of defensiveness, and a list of excuses why I left with a poor manicure. They said I could still come in and they would "reshape" them - but that was it. Like I really felt welcome after they pointed the finger at me and now a backhanded invite. See the pictures and decide if this salon is worth throwing your money away at. I'm going to have to go to another salon to get this crap on my fingers fixed because I cannot stand the way this manicure looks. By far, the worst I've EVER had. Not only that, but horrible customer service. If a business is not willing to spend the time to make their client happy, for whatever the reason, would you really want to support them? From reading other reviews, it appears that Kevin would be the person who sent the second message to me, and now I have a better understanding of the snarky comments that I received. He seems a little butt-hurt in each response, which I am assuming I will get the same backlash. Ridiculous. Grow up and take care of your customers. I first went to this salon when it first opened. Had a good experience, could've been the same had you spent 10 minutes evening out and fixing this mess. But instead you decided to open your mouth. Nothing is worse than a business that doesn't care about their customers - whether it's someone who comes every week or someone who comes twice a year... you never know who they're referring to. On Friday March 29, 2019. I went in for my second appointment with a different tech. She was very very nice! However, I am not happy with the way she filed my nails. I asked for tapered square... Each one is shaped slightly different. The final filing was not good at all. I told her (as well as the previous tech) that I like my nails filed flat. You can see in the pictures that they don't know how to achieve a flat nail. Again, I was charged $40.00 for a 2 week fill with Shellac polish. Total money waste of my hard earned money! Pleasant phone etiquette, impressive decor, and friendly staff but don't be fooled! I went in for my appointment yesterday (gel polish change) and my nail tech (in the middle of doing my nails) constantly stopped and turned around to speak with her coworker and assist him with the bluetooth connectivity the ENTIRE service. This happened literally the WHOLE time and she didn't pay attention to the length of time my nails were under the gel lamp and did a sloppy job applying polish. On top of that, my gel polish already started chipping yesterday...just a few hours after the service! Your guy's facebook page says the polish change is $20 but I was charged $25 for this crappy service and my polish is already coming off. The place was easy to find, and everyone was very nice, the interior was clean, nicely decorated, living up to its name. I was not happy with the job, and by the pictures I posted, you can see why. Lots of ridges, and rough edges upon examination afterward. I paid $45 and tipped 20%, but I would not go here again. I am a professional and need to look my best every day. About 3 weeks ago I went into this salon to get a full set, everything was fine and they have all the colors in a book due to Covid. I picked a color and then noticed she brought out the UV light for gel manicures. I did not ask for a gel polish and had no idea the color I picked was going to be gel. They should have informed me that the colors were all gel and you had to ask to just have regular polish. At the end when I paid it was $55 which I thought was insane, and the overall quality just wasn't very good :( my nails looked grown out after a few days. I went back for a fill and called before asking how much it would be and was told $25+, so I asked what would make it cost more and she said if you get gel, or a design. When I went in I specifically asked for regular polish and did not get a design. After I was done I got charged $33... I asked why and the receptionist said "taking off gel and filing down the nail". I don't understand how that makes the price go up, so if you want your fill to be $25 I guess tell them to not take off the old color and to not trim down the nail, even when it's so grown out lmao. I will not be returning here they take advantage of college students and hike their prices up for no reason. The only reason I gave them 2 stars due to the salon being pretty clean for Covid reasons. Edit: In response to the owner, the books are not labeled gel, and as someone who does not get their nails done often I didn't think about stopping the technician. I truly think this place only cares about money and looking good because the quality and service is 7/10 and that's me being nice. I've been here a lot too but the last time was my last. I was appalled by the service. I received a pedicure that was rushed, the most TERRIBLE pedicure ever, the only good part was the paint job. He scrubbed and massaged my toes and feet for like 30 seconds, all because I guess they were closing soon... but I feel like he should've finished my service without rushing and while I was getting my pedicure another guy started doing my manicure at the pedicure station I was super annoyed and uncomfortable! I called and set an appointment so if they didn't have time I don't know why they over booked. I hate being uncomfortable. And I pretty much paid $45 for dip polish ( I thought it was going to be a dip manicure, I've received it before, same with gel mani) but like I said he rushed and didn't even cut my cuticles, dip my hands in water or anything! And when I inquired about it at the end of my service before I paid he told me that manicures aren't included in their services ??? Interesting! So you mean to tell me I'm paying 45$ for you to dip my nails? No manicure? What the hell is point of it? This whole business lacks quality and is over priced.
