Over the phone I was told that my son's private session would last 30 minutes but it only lasted 5, which okay my 3 year old was distracted by the new environment at times. However, she was rude and impatient with my child. Why accept 3 year olds when you are going to get visibly annoyed and upset with them. That doesn't help. I was told I would get a call back with next steps and I never heard back. Not even a courtesy call. Not professional at all. I decided to look elsewhere after not hearing from them and my son is thriving in his new class. read more

The instructors, assistant instructors, and student instructors all model this and are great with kids. The chief instructor, Jordan Schreiber (Master Schreiber), is a 6th degree blackbelt with over 20 years experience in TEACHING taekwondo. Master Schreiber's ATA school is great! The staff is very friendly and always willing to help. The school is a little small but it's only problematic with a big class. Otherwise, it doesn't really matter too much. It might be a little intimidating at first because you might see everyone as really intimidating and competitive, and while people there are like that, it doesn't mean that they aren't nice and friendly. In fact, I met some of my closest friends there. They teach a lot of practical techniques, but they don't just measure your strength. In fact a big part about the school is that they measure your personal gain. They also teach life skills and I've seen shy people become confident and I'm pretty sure ATA plays a part in that. Our 5-year-old has only been taking class for a few months and already we notice major improvements in his strength and coordination.  He is focused and attentive in class and that has also affected his life beyond taekwondo.  It's great exercise, the teachers are really good with young kids, and our child is internalizing some of the principles discussed in class.  He loves it!  And so do we! read more

Ok, this is my first time writing a review for a place we dont even belong to!!!! Tonight, I went in for a free trial session with my son. He is 3. And also tried a gymnastics class today. I'm a bad mom, we double booked. So we show up at Master S's ATA, and my son WILL NOT COOPERATE. Very out of character for him. But ... ya know.. I'm a terrible mother who pushed a three year old too far! (I would also like to note, that as we waited for our orientation, we watched another class in action. The instructor was firm, and I heard several corrections through the class, but he was also encouraging and there for the kids. At one point, he literally had a student stand and define "integrity" and did so with confidence and accuracy. The instructor applied a real life scenario and honed in on this concept. I was BEYOND impressed) So Master S. does my son's orientation, and tries his absolute best to get him engaged. But Paul is having NONE OF IT. So we try. And Master S tries everything (with a gentle and firm hand) and can obviously tell its not going to happen. He assess the situation, and literally told me that tonight would not work, and we should reschedule his free trial/orientation for a day that he is not so tired and intimidated by what is going on in the gym. I am a mother of three children 5 and under and I've never seen someone deal with my child in such an educated, lovely, and challenging way. We will be back next week, and my son WILL join. This place is amazing. I'm in love with the customer service, the concept of ATA, and the integrity with which this organization runs. If you have a chance, be sure to visit. We take classes as a family, and it's been a great way to excercise and spend time together. Master Schreiber's ATA is amazing. My daughter is in the Tiny Tiger Basic program and she loves it. The lessons are fun and challenging. She is learning self control, self confidence, self defense, all in an atmosphere of encouragement and friendship. It is great for kids of all ages and abilities. My son has been training with Master Schreiber for 9 months. Master Screiber is wonderful with the kids. My son has a LOT of energy and at times has a hard time focusing. Master Screiber really teaches the kids discipline and how to control their energy. In the short period of time I have seen a difference in my sons mannerism. so I wanted to take a moment and update my previous review. We love Master Schreiber's ATA. Although the intro class wasn't what we had expected, being a part of this studio has been such a benefit and blessing to our family. My older boys are involved in the Leadership Program and have participated in 5 tournaments. They also decided to show what they had learned in their school talent show. My 4 year old daughter is also learning so much in the Tiny Tiger's program. I have even started taking classes for myself. I'm so glad to be a part of this "family". Wow! I have been training at Master Schreiber ATA since 2009. I am a man over 50years old and don't know where you could better training from one of the best instructors in the USA. Master Schreiber, is patient and disciplined with the kids, but at the same time makes learning TKD fun and not to ridged. You're learning from a Master with a 7th degree black belt. The American Taekwondo Association has over 200,000 students/ instructors World Wide! We are all one big family and the instructions and testing's are very uniformed, wherever your school is located. I've thought long and hard about whether I should post a review of Master Schreiber and ATA martial arts. I normally don't post negative reviews because I don't like hurting businesses, but wanted to post in case any parents with special needs children were considering this place. I originally found out about this place through a special needs parenting forum on facebook and decided to give it a try for my son who has ASD. I was NOT impressed by Master Schreiber at all. He came in, barely introduced himself to me or my son, didn't ask me any questions to get to know my son any better, and proceeded to just "test" him by having him do drills. It was really an awful experience for my son, and he didn't want to come back. After the assessment, Master Schreiber said that my son likely wasn't a good fit because he didn't do well on the "testing". Honestly, fine by me because I did not get a good vibe from this place. This is not a good place for kids who require someone with patience and a willingness to learn about your individual child and their needs. Its probably fine for kids who are typical and don't have any special needs, but really not a great place for kids who are not mainstream and require patience and "out of the box" thinking. Our world needs instructors who are kind, patient, and willing to lift ALL kids up. This is not the place unfortunately. read more

My child has been attending for almost 2 years, I do really like that they not only teach the kids martial arts but also life lessons, they try to instill good leadership skills and responsibility which is a plus. The only reason I didn't give them all 5 stars is because of the sales tactics they use, they approached me to tell me that my son would be a good candidate for the leadership program and were very persuasive and persistent to try and have me sign him up. I reluctantly did so, which I am kicking myself now because it is a 3 year contract!!! So even if my child has no interest in going we are bound by a contract!! I have tried several times to get out of the contract for several different legitimate reasons but was unable to. The only reasons they will let you out of the contract is if your child gets terminally ill or you move away where there is no other ata school. this has left a sour taste in my mouth. The Chief instructor is also a lawyer so he can use that to his advantage. The school concept is good but really dislike the sales approach. Just beware signing any "commitments" read more

My boys have been with Master Schreiber's ATA for over a year and I can't say enough great things about their organization. They have taught my children respect and courtesy, as well as given my children a physical skill they really enjoy. My boys have been to many tournaments and have learned to win with grace and lose with dignity. They are also members of of Master Schreiber's Demo Team which has taught them discipline but fun at the same time. We had my son's 8th birthday here with 10 of his friends and everyone had a blast. The class was organized, the instructor did great controlling the tempo of 11 eight year olds, and the kids never stopped smiling. They even covered what kids could do in regards to strangers and possible kidnapping. Worth every penny. read more

Son started at 7 and continues to attend 2 years later. He is worked physically (flexibility, strength, control), mentally (courage, character, knowledge) and enjoys the competition with peers. I have NEVER written a yelp review. But This place deserves it. Last April I wanted to sign my 3yo son up, and my husband thought it was a good idea to sign my 7yo daughter as well. Both my daughter and I were hesitate, but she agreed to try it for the introductory month, and we asked for no further commitment from her. Well, 6 weeks later, she was in LOVE, and wanted to join the leadership program, which was a year commitment. Again I was hesitate, but this time my daughter wasn't. I finally agreed (it was only a year), and let me just say that is probably one of the best things I could have done for my daughter. She has gained so much self confidence in the past 6 months. The self confidence is starting to flow out into other activities. And as an added bonus, her focus and commitment to her school work has increase as well. As for my 3 year old son... He is learning more about focus and discipline every week... and it is in a fun and loving environment. Yes I used the word loving while writing a review about a martial arts studio.
