It's honestly the absolute best workout class I think I've ever taken. It was so great, I bought 15 more classes just for the cardio kickboxing. The cardio kickboxing classes tend to have about 10-15 people (which is what I like). And the instructor always motivates you and tries to get you to push yourself. The workouts are always different, you choose the weights that are right for you, and there's zero judgment. If you're struggling, someone is always there to encourage you or lend a hand. I go to the 5:15 a.m. class, and while we're not exactly talkative that early, everyone looks out for each other. Even the strongest people are the first to cheer you on. After an evaluation from Tom, the owner and head trainer, I was soon doing exercises that I had never done before. Strengthening parts of my body that would improve my "function," and thus my overall strength. There is a pretty heavy focus on legs. With individual training and group training, you are often working out with other athletes, be it adults or students. I'm very happy with my performance after starting in this gym!

It wasn't until coming across Coach Gabe, Coach Ant, Coach Rey and Coach Mya at Rooted Legacy that made me feel comfortable taking on a new skill later in life. Both have decades of experience and still keep their skills sharp by competing. The gym has only been open a year and in that time there have been growing pains but they continue to learn and make the training challenging, educational and fun.

I played a lot of sports when younger, and served as a paratrooper, so at 68 my knees and hips were pretty shot. I started with Ibrahim at 24 Hour Fitness when I could not walk downstairs at all and could barely struggle up one stair at a time. Within a few years I was going up and down two stairs at a time, and now my wife and I are in better shape (whole body) than we were 30 years ago. Ibrahim isn't one of those trainers that's talking on his phone during a session - he's watching how the client walks, balances and moves, and has thereby picked up and corrected numerous things that I wasn't even aware were putting unnecessary stress on parts of my body during everyday routine activities. He's also assisted us with nutritional advice, is a very knowledgeable and talented massage therapist, and a heck of a nice guy.
