This is a wonderful place to get your haircut for people who want to have a nice experience, cutting their hair, but are very busy and don't have a lot of time to wait weeks and weeks to get a salon appointment. Element Salon was recommended to me by some friends. I was delighted to see that they had a branch down the street from my home. I had no idea it was even there, it's tucked away in a corner of a busy shopping center in Brentwood. However, this place is definitely a hidden gem. I was able to book a same-day appointment. You can call or book online to schedule. I had Charlotte who was friendly, lovely, and very professional. She was good about asking me what I wanted and gave a wonderful shampoo/conditioner and scalp massage. I also had a lovely cup of tea tea while she was doing my hair. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it, and styled it, so it had beautiful soft waves. The best part is, my hair is still amazing the next day, even after I washed it. The vibe of the salon is very modern, but relaxing. I love the black and yellow tones. This is now my go to salon !

This might be the worst experience I have ever had getting a blowout and style. I went in to treat myself getting my hair curled before a wedding and left and maybe 15 minutes later my hair is completely straight. We called the salon to see if they could fix my hair and they gladly said they could take me. I walk in and all the stylists are sitting around and was told it would be 15 minutes before someone could curl my hair....okay? Why one of the girls sitting around tapping couldn't take a quick curling iron to my hair is beside me....Extremely unprofessional group of stylists - they were more focused on eating their lunch. The only one that was gracious was the gentleman stylist in the front of salon who quietly acknowledged how bizarre the situation was. Go far far away from here. I can't imagine what getting my hair actually cut and colored would be like!

Just wanted to drop in and give a shoutout to Ally here at Element Salon. I have been getting my hair color from her for over a year at this point and it has always been beautiful. I like to go through transitions in my look and I have always loved each result. Most recently I decided on a makeover to magenta and she nailed the look I was going for. She also colored my hair before my wedding and she was able to match my extensions dead on (for my black roots, mixed brunette highlight hair going to honey blonde extensions, that's a lot of work) and she looked at my hairstyle trial, the extensions and placed the highlight pieces exactly where needed so they would blend overall. Attached are some of my looks with her. If you are looking for hair coloring done right, Ally is your girl!

I just moved to Nashville & so I spent a lot of time online looking for a salon & stylist. First of all, the salon is everything you could want, and everyone working there is friendly & professional. I appreciated that there's a free parking garage connected to all the shops at 201 Franklin. In searching for a new stylist, I particularly sought out someone whose Instagram photos demonstrated that she also has an interest/ability in cutting shorter hair (in addition to all of the long, flowing hair styles that are so beautiful & popular here in Nashville). My appointment was with Courtney & I was so pleased to meet her. She's a delightful person & put me at ease. Courtney formulated a plan to warm up my color, add some balayage highlights & precisely cut my hair with sharp, clean lines. She did an outstanding job & I am very happy with my new look.

I could have been nicer, but let me remind me, my hair is messed up for a very long time and extension is not going to make it grow

So I normally don't leave reviews, but this is a must. I went to elements salon through a recommendation. I made and appointment with A stylist 2 for a balayage. COURTNEY was then appointed to take my appointment. This is what she did to my hair for a strand test. I was very surprised she cut my hair rather than dying it as a strand test. The location and amount she took I felt like I was getting a drug test. I was so upset that I left and didn't get a service down at all. I called and complained And spoke to the director. I was then offered to come in and get an extensions consultation the next day. I came in, didn't get a consultation bc I was about to get a balayage elsewhere, so he told me to just send them a picture after the balayage was done for the consultation. I haven't called them back since. I was so annoyed at my consultation that nothing he offered me can replace the pieces of hair on my head. Oh btw, Courtney found my IG and sent me a message.

This salon IS AMAZING! Charlotte is a wonderful stylist and this salon is so friendly (: I called the receptionist a few times to add on services and she was so kind to me! As soon I got in, Charlotte was sweet, helpful, and so nice! I had brassy hair and she helped me so much and made my hair BEAUTIFUL! I've been going Tim for almost 2 years and I can't speak highly enough about him and the salon! Element is the only salon I trust in Nashville after trying many hip East Nashville salons that didn't know what to do with my curly hair. Tim cuts it exactly how I like it and knows curls really well! He's also given me beautiful balayage and currently he brought my dark brown locks to a beautiful light blonde! Everyone in the salon, which is bright, light and beautiful, is friendly and happy to see you. read more

Here's to a huge shout out for Courtney, a talented hair stylsit at Element in Brentwood. She's so good I followed her all the way from California where she was my stylist until ber move to Nashville a few months ago. She's as warm and friendly as she is an accomplished stylist! Although sad to learn she was leaving her large clientele in Calif, my comfort was knowing she could do my hair on annual visits to Nashville to see a friend. Yesterday while in Nashville,Courtney colored and cut my hair. Already had a woman in downtown Franklin ask "where do you get your color done? It's great!". Elements is very lucky to have Courtney on board! read more

I wish I could get the haircut... I schedule an appointment on last Thursday. I was on my car driving there and they called me asking to reschedule it. I accepted to schedule it again today at 2:45pm. I was driving there, but I was few minutes late and I called to advice about it. They asked me to reschedule again.. I just cancelled .. that's not okay... no good service.. not happy about it. read more

I have to rave about Rodney Buchannon right here! I'm SO THANKFUL to have found him!! First I went in for a consultation about a bad cut I had only two weeks prior, and I quickly learned that I found the right stylist in Rodney!! In his bio he states that he 'prides himself on his precision cuts' and that's EXACTLY what I needed. He was able to get me in the very next day and he is THE BEST!!! I enjoyed every minute with him because he is a lovely person, and this cut is AMAZING!!! He was able to correct the cut I was dealing with and now I can enjoy my hair again! YAY!!!! I'm thrilled to have found such a talented and knowledgeable stylist because I have very tricky hair to deal with, and Rodney knew EXACTLY what to do! Great salon and location!! I want to preface this by saying that this is a review of a level 1 stylist and I'm not sure if I would have had a better experience with a more senior stylist. I arrived at my scheduled appointment time and had to wait in the lobby for almost 10 minutes prior to seeing my stylist as she was running behind. This would not be a big deal normally, however there was no seating in the lobby and I had to awkwardly stand in front of the products that others were trying to view/purchase. I was finally introduced to my stylist Reagan who only briefly greeted me and did not even really introduce herself. I told her I only wanted a one inch trim with a few long layers. She proceeded to barely speak to me the remainder of the service. She spoke with other stylists during and told them she had been back to back all day and hadn't been able to eat, which made me feel unappreciated and like she was rushing through my service. Once my service was complete and I had left, I finally looked closely in the mirror and realized I got a blunt cut on the ends, VERY choppy layers and uneven almost bangs in the front (that I did not ask for). Perhaps this stylist was rushing, but if so they should work on their scheduling to ensure they have the time/patience/care to devote to everyone's service. I ended up having to go to another, more experienced stylist at another salon to get the cut fixed. Overall spent over $150 on a simple hair trim. EDIT: Want to add that the salon manager did promptly call me after this review to get feedback for the stylist and to issue me a refund, so they did work to make it right! read more

I went to Element today for the first time and am so impressed. Everyone was so nice and friendly and there was such a good vibe. Payton is AMAZING!!!! I had my hair colored for the first time ever and she took the time to really understand what I wanted and explain all of my options to me. She did an amazing job. Amanda was amazing and gave me the best haircut I've had in easily ten years. I'm new to Nashville but Amanda has been doing my daughter's hair for a little over a year. My daughter's hair always looks good so it was a no brainer to go to her stylist. I am so glad I did. She took a lot of time listening to my concerns and areas that I thought were problems. She not only cut my hair well but took the time to show me products to use, and more importantly how to use them, that will help my hair and help me achieve the look I want. She is extremely nice and positive and worked with me to find the perfect bayalage color for my hair. They were nice but she took off way more of my hair than I asked. I have curly hair and they cut it while wet which takes off a lot more than when it is straight after just being washed-they should know that. Before cutting, they showed me a section of hair that was 2.5 inches long which I agreed for that much to be cut off. They took at least 5 inches of hair-more in other spots. It's the week before my wedding and I don't feel like myself anymore. So while they were polite, they didn't do what I asked for and I will never be returning. read more

I made an appointment at 10am for a 3:30 blowout to treat myself which I never do. One hour before the appointment the receptionist calls to ask if I can push back to 5:30pm. Since I have an engagement at 5:30pm I could not move my appointment. She then proceeded to tell me that they were sorry but I could not come in today. She didn't even offer a discount to rebook and truly didn't even sound apologetic. Sorry Element. I leave great tips that your unfortunatel employees will never see. read more

My experience with Tim was like no other. He is a highly skilled stylist, colorist and did beautiful highlights as well. My hair is thick and long, which many have found tricky in the past. Not Tim! Certainly an improvement from my old look. A cut and partial balayage was a little over 200. Didnt realize you are required to do a $38 toner with the balayage. It should probably just be included in the price of the balayage as this feels a little deceptive once you are told about it. I like my cut but the balayage itself is difficult to see. Not much color difference tbh. Said i would need at least 1 if not 2 more sessions (at a little over $100 apiece) to get the highlights to look blonde. If i had known that before, probably would have stuck with just a cut. I was happy with my stylist. 3 stars to the salon for charging an extra $38 for toner though. read more

I had been letting my hair grow out for a while and the southern humidity and a rainy day finally pushed me over the edge to pull the trigger on cutting my hair short. I called a few places that had decent yelp reviews for "men's hair". The first call could get me in much later in the day. The next didn't have an opening until late evening. But whomever answered the phone at the Boardroom was a sweet as she could be. She said she had a chance to squeeze me there in about 15 minutes. Perfect. Siri said I was about three minutes around the corner. She said, "Well we will see you then". I walked in and was greeted with a smile and offered a cold drink. I don't imbibe, but really appreciated the bottle of cold water. Shalenia came to the lobby and escorted me back to her station. I showed her a couple of references of what I was looking to get done and this woman knew the assignment! The clippers came out and I was already feeling like a new man. Once she finished the cut she asked if she could tidy up the eyebrows. This woman lined up my brows, mustache and beard perfectly. But wait we aren't done yet. She took be back for the shampoo and hot towel treatment. I was just looking for a quick haircut. I ended up being treated to the single best salon experience I have ever had. Hands down. I have always wanted to find a place like this but the ones that I have tried have always come up short. I wasn't expecting any treatment like this and left there blown away by every aspect of my time there. AND she nailed the cut right off the bat! Like I said, I showed her two pics of styles I liked on Pinterest and she took those ideas and just ran with it. I have never had a cut come out this foot right off the bat. I'm picky and usually have to spend a day or two styling it differently until my hair looks the way I want it to look. Not this time. A quick pass with some product and a little tweaking and my hair looks great. My wife loves the look too, and she really liked me with longer hair. Oh, and when I went up to pick up that product and pay the bill, that same sweetheart that welcomed me in said, "So this time we got you the express cut service. Next time we will make sure you get the full service." Ummm, WHAT?!? You mean there's more? I can't quite remember everything else they offer, but I can't wait to find out. Say what you want, but men want to be pampered like this every bit as much as women do. Whether they admit it or not. The only downside is that I live in Arkansas. But I do travel through Tennessee quite often. So now I'll have to schedule my business trips around my need for a haircut. Now was it cheap? Nope. But was it worth three times what I paid? Absolutely! This isn't a walk-in clipper job at SuperCuts. This is an experience that every guy needs to treat themselves to, at least once in their lives. Ladies (or fellas) spoil your man with a trip here. Guys, you really do owe it to yourself to see what it's like to have a men's styling lounge done right. So thank you, Shalenia for an amazing cut and an experience that will stick with me until my next trip down. And Thanks to the rest of the crew for making this the best salon visit ever. The problem was she failed to use vasoline or something else to prevent the black dye from staining my head on the front, back and sides. I looked ridiulious. It took lots of medical grade rubbing alcohol and two weeks of daily rubbing the alcohol on my skin to get it off. It cost $107 each time for the screwed up haircut. NEVER AGAIN!!! I went to Sports Clips and got the haircut perfectly done for $28 including tip. And I went to Sally Beauty to get the needed hair dye and application stuff to do it myself in just 45 minutes with great results.

Salons will always beat out a blow dry bar when I want a relaxing experience and fresh, perfectly styled hair that lasts a few days, and Oxana salon has quickly become one of my favorites for a high quality-to-value blowout. I've been a handful of times with their level 1 stylists (used to be $45, now $54 for a blowout) and their assistants (still $36 -- truly a wild price for the quality!), and the assistant blowouts here are honestly some of my favorite blowouts I've gotten in town. My personal favorite has been Justine. Incredible pressure when she massages your scalp and washes your hair, and a clean, classic style that lasts for multiple days even in this Nashville summer heat. Bonus: she actually styled my bangs correctly, which is a rarity. Callie also did a fantastic job when I came in last-minute for a birthday dinner recently, and that blowout has held up for 4 days despite the insane heat wave we've been having. The salon uses high-quality Oribe products (a personal fave), has easy parking right next to the venue, and is easy to book online in advance. Sometimes - when luck is in my side - I can even snag a same-day appointment! I'm always reluctant to spill my secrets lest my favorite spots become unbookable, but Justine and Callie are genuinely the most talented at their level I've been to in Nashville and are deserving of the recognition!

Look, I had a pretty lame experience here. This was my first time at a Jon Alan Salon. Nowhere on…read morethe website does it indicate that this is a school/training environment, but it definitely is. I scheduled a trim and mini-highlight and it took over FIVE HOURS. My appointment was at 9am and I walked out of there after 2pm because my (very sweet) stylist has to wait for a "senior stylist" to check every single step of the process. My stylist wasn't comfortable actually doing any step of the cut or color. And that would be fine if the results were great, but my highlights are pretty bad--splotchy, too thick, weirdly placed--and the cut is...fine. It's hard to mess my hair up. The worst part, though, is they quoted me a price, then bleached my hair and took the foils off (so I'm sitting there with white stripes all over my head) and told me it would be an additional $30 for toner. That TONER wasn't included in a "mini-highlight." What? Are you telling me you just put bleach on people's hair and then send them out into the world and call that "highlights"? I can't stress enough how nice everyone was, but I would never go back here and I'm pretty disappointed.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE! I would give this place 1 star if that was a possibility. I made an appointment for my first hair cut and color (full head of highlights or full balayage) after quarantine at the Element Salon 12South location. I brought a few very specific pictures with me and the stylist (Suesan) said she felt it could be reached. She shared with me that she was unable to blow dry my hair due to COVID regulations at that point, so I was not able to see what my hair looked like prior to leaving. She dried two small pieces in front, but it was very hard for me to see what it would have looked like. After I got home and saw how ORANGE it was I blew dry and styled it myself. Even after styling it, it was HIDEOUS. It was nothing at all of what I asked, completely one color versus high lights/balayage. The color was all the way up to my roots in the front, but the crown was not colored at all. It looked like a tiger (dark brown and orange). I immediately let her know (through text message - after she asked me for pictures once I got home) that I was unhappy and asking for her to assist. She responded, "it looks so pretty :)". She agreed to fix it a few days later, but the salon was then closed (due to the manager getting covid) and I no longer felt comfortable going to her. I called the salon multiple times asking to speak to a manager, but all the salons (multiple locations, that I called) shared there manager was not in. A really wonderful gentleman at the Green Hills location who was horrified by my story made me an immediate appointment to have a consultation that evening with Taylor. At that appointment, she felt she was able to fix my hair and was confident with that. Her soonest availability was THREE weeks from then, which was insanity for anyone to think it was okay for me to walk around with my hair looking like this for more than 1-2 days. I continued to call other locations of this salon and finally reached someone at the Brentwood location. The receptionist took my information down and shared the manager would call me back tomorrow. She made me a standing appointment at the Brentwood location for a few days later to have my hair fixed. The girl who fixed my hair was really lovely and seemed to know what she was doing, but she did not achieve what I had originally asked for. She even said, "I can't believe ANYONE let you leave the salon looking like this. This should have been fixed that day". She died my hair back to a darker color than my original hair and put minimal high lights into my hair. This service was free after the mess up, but once again it was not what I asked for! I explained to her it was not what I was looking for and she said it would lighten up in the sun. I STILL haven't heard from ANY managers after this horrible experience and had to pay FULL price for this, which was crazy expensive (over $330). I would not recommend this place to even my worst enemies. What a waste of money, time and my beautiful head of hair. I've lost all hope in this hair salon and do not trust them with coloring my hair, which is super unfortunate. Stop reading and book with Ally right now!! She is amazing!! She listened to me try to describe what I wanted and asked a lot of questions to make sure we were on the same page before she actually started. I was going in for a big change (about 10-12 inches cut off and balayage for the first time), and she did an initial chop longer than I said I wanted just to make sure I actually liked it short before it was too late. From there she cut it in small increments until it was exactly the length I wanted. Hair appointments usually give me so much anxiety because I always seem to leave with something completely different than what I asked for, but I felt so comfortable the whole time and for the first time ever I actually love my hair! I got a cut, partial balayage, and gloss for reference. She also gave me some tips to take better care of my hair, and a shampoo and product that would be good for me based on the amount of effort I usually put into styling it (which is zero). I appreciate that she was so careful to get my hair exactly the way I wanted it, and that she met me where I'm at with my hair care routine instead of trying to get me to suddenly start spending an hour styling it every day. I found the salon as a new Tennessee resident, online it had great reviews. The environment was immaculate and warm and inviting just like its staff. The salon was great with communicating with me. They sent me text reminders about my appointment, the text to let me know the stylist I had chosen online had to go home sick and so I would be working with someone else, they also called me shortly before my appointment to let me know the stylist was running a little behind. That way I didn't get there and have to wait or I had time to reschedule had I needed to. Rodney was amazing, I don't know a lot about hair but told him the best I could what I wanted, he was articulate with what he thought, his suggestions, and why he did or didn't think we she go a certain direction with my hair. I was able to sit back and trust him to get the job done, and he cut and styled my hair beautifully. They have several tiers of stylists and Rodney is a higher level than the stylist I had originally picked but the salon was awesome and honored the price point of the stylist I had already scheduled. 5 Stars all around. Element Salon is very professional, organized, clean, and hip. I've been with Tim for years now. Before Tim I had gone through several hairdressers; not because they were horrible, but because they could never give me what I asked for, nor did they have an eye for what hair color and style went well with my complexion and face. Tim is extremely gifted and creative and does my hair differently every single time, which I love, and it always works well with my complexion. I like that I can change my hair up and get something different and not have to worry about whether or not it's going to look good on me. Tim knows color very well! He is always learning the latest techniques and keeps up with the times. Above all, Tim is a great listener, with a love for life, his clients, and his work. I woke up one morning before starting grad school and had a full blown identity crisis. The only thing I wanted was to chop off my hair and dye it. I contacted element salon through yelp and they literally booked me for two days out. I went in and met Caitlyn Jones. Guys. She's the best. She spent almost 7 hours cutting my hair and balayaging it into a dark brown and auburn masterpiece. She is amazing and I have NEVER had someone spend that much time and effort on my hair. She listened to me and got my input every time she made a color decision. She cut my hair exactly how I wanted it and styled it at the end, even though we were the last ones in the salon. here. Tim is amazing. In just two visits he has transformed my hair. The cut he has given me is superb, and I love that he knows what works for my hair which is pin straight, very fine and difficult. He has Sassoon training which is undoubtedly why he is so good with straight, short hair. I left the salon feeling like a million dollars, which is not always the case when you first try someone new. He also did a fabulous job on the color and covered my stubborn, emergent grey roots perfectly, giving my hair a rich, healthy looking tone. Where do I start? From the two times that I've been here I can say it only keeps getting better with every visit. The salon itself is very clean and they are following COVID guidelines very carefully, which is always nice to see. I saw Ally today, who can I just say did an amazing job. As someone who doesn't dye their hair very often she was patient and understanding and perfectly nailed what I was looking for. Her cut on my layers was perfect and I felt as if I was talking with a friend I've known for years. I will definitely be back and even my sister after seeing my hair booked herself an appointment! Upon entering Elements shiny new doors I always look a mess. Then I'm greeted at the desk with a smile and shown to my seat nothing abnormal here just fine service. But through the duration of the cut you find yourself uplifted from light conversation and put into an immersive trance by an amazing shampooing that could honestly put you into a coma. Ally can take my head of hair which is thinning dramatically and make me look as if I were 5 years younger and had a full head of hair. I've had many stylists through the years but since my first appointment with her I've never looked back. Elements salon is WONDERFUL!! I have been going there for over 2 years (ever since we moved to Nashville) and I have never been disappointed! The staff is so friendly and they make you feel so special. I have also appreciated the safety precautions they have taken during the Covid pandemic--temperature checks, hand sanitizing, clients spaced at least 6 foot apart and partitions between each station. They, also, only use every other station. I see Glenda monthly, and love my hair every time. The color is always perfect, and my hair has never felt better. After many years of living in Nashville and visiting multiple salons, I have never had such a phenomenal experience as I have with Tim. I've been to him 3 times now, and each time is better than the last. He takes time to understand the look you want, and will make sure you leave the salon looking nothing short of perfect. I saw Nicole Prochazka and she was AMAZING! I needed my blonde highlights touched up (it had been like 4 months) and a cut. She blended my old highlights seamlessly and did a bunch of great treatments on my hair, I've washed it 4 times now and my hair still feels amazing and so healthy just from the treatments. My cut was just what I wanted. I am always a little hesitant when it comes to seeing someone new for my light blonde hair but Nicole was seriously the best. I'm in town for the week and decided it was time to freshen up my hair, I called got in later that same afternoon and was welcomed in right away with complimentary beverages. Here's what happened: I called and made an appointment for balayage. I went in to see Tim and the color he did was absolutely GORGEOUS. Then, as we both looked at, we both wondered if it might be even prettier just a shade or two lighter around my face.
