We had a great experience at Elemental! Great food and awesome service, we will definitely be coming back!

ATMOSPHERE My friends and I dined here on a Monday around 7PM for a friend's birthday. Despite going during dinner time, the place was not very busy. This location is fairly big so they were able to easily accommodate my group of 6. It is very bright inside and there are big windows to let in natural light when it's daytime. WHAT DID WE TRY? I built my own pizza with artichoke hearts, spinach, goat cheese, and sun dried tomatoes with marinara sauce. The pizza I made was very basic. I felt I could have made something similar at home for cheaper. I think I would have had a better experience had I not built my own. One good thing about the pizza, however, was that it wasn't dry nor soggy. SERVICE My friends and I were seated as soon as we arrived despite being 30 minutes late to our reservation. Our server was very friendly and promptly refilled our water cups when they were running low. OVERALL I gave this place 3 stars because they had good service and their food wasn't bad. Had they had more unique vegetarian options, I would have given them a higher ranking. read more

A lovely pizza and pasta restaurant in the heart of Seattle's University Village. I stopped by on a rainy day to try their spaghetti and meatballs, which did not disappoint. I paired it with a Caesar salad and the service was good. Management went above and beyond to ensure a good experience, which I appreciated. Came here while shopping and was pleasantly surprised. The toppings were very fresh and I loved the crust. Not the best pizza I have ever had but I will be back if I am in the area. Their food is amazing but when dinning in their outdoor area in the rain they said I had to keep my puppy on the outside of the gate surrounding the area. We were the only people there and it was pouring rain. The poor little guy was shivering and kept trying to get to us through the gate. Manager never put in my order. I called in an order for a single carnivorous pizza at 11:43am and was told by the manager that it would be ready in 10 minutes. I walked to the restaurant and arrived at the time it would be ready, and sat for an additional 20 minutes. At 12:10pm I asked where my order was, and the server told me that it was never put in. It's completely disrespectful to waste my time after I explicitly called early to have my order ready when I arrived. read more

This update is way overdue! We have been back to Elementals Pizza menu times since. Between my husband, our kid and myself, I think we tried almost everything in the menu. Our latest favorites are sandwiches (BBQ pork and chicken Caesar), but long standing favorites are Big Chop, Kale Caesar, and elemental pizza. Food is just excellent! While we usually tent to sit inside, last few times we chose the outdoor seating. It is quite nice, especially one facing the plaza (Sephora, Apple Store etc). Service is good. They probably all know us there by now as being regulars. read more

I ordered a margherita pizza with prosciutto. It was okay... I would have preferred the prosciutto to be added on after the pizza was cooked, as the meat became too hard and crispy rather than retaining its velvety texture. The truffle mushroom pizza was pretty good. I love the the taste. (It was lunch menu, $13, a pizza with salad or soup) However, the bucatini meatballs wasn't as good as we expected. We watched as guys grabbed things from the containers without changing gloves; meat, veggies, cheese, etc. I know best kills germs but still. I don't eat beef or pork but watching that cross over between all of that just didn't make me feel too good. I used to work in the food service industry so I get it but this is just a personal standpoint I have. Pizza was fine though, the personal one was big enough to feed two alongside a small kale cesar salad. We got the margarita and it had a little too much sauce for my liking but it wasn't terrible by any means. I tried the green goddess pizza and it was incredible. I'm usually the type to go for a more tomato base over pesto. However this pizza just hit. The veggie selection was perfect and I loved the combination of feta, mozzarella, artichoke hearts, sun-dried tomato's, pesto- literally the entire works. The crust was also perfect- not to thick or too thin, absolutely just perfect for a rainy day. Pizza was a bit pricey but as expected for a woodfire pizza. Went here while on travel out west. Elemental Pizza is located in University Village, right around the corner from University of Washington. The Village is kind of like an outdoor mall with many retail stores as well as some food options. Elemental Pizza has a very good looking location and has a great contemporary style about it. While we were there, we were seated promptly and our order was taken right away. Our server was also the bartender (we were not seated at the bar) and it seemed like she had her hands really full. I would have preferred a few more refills and attentiveness, but overall the service was good. The pizza itself was very delicious. I had the meatlovers pizza and the crust was just the way I like it: not too thin not too thick with just the right amount of crisp. This is a great pizza joint for some great food. read more

I have to write an update... I've reviewed countless places on Yelp and I have to say... the owner reached out to me about my experience and obviously cares a lot about his customers satisfaction. I commend him and his efforts in providing quality service and food to his guests. Unfortunately, we went on a bad night for one of his staff.. but honestly, I'd totally go back and try it out again due to the passion of the owner. The vibe of the restaurant is great.. the whole chemistry theme is unique, too. Yelpers, this is a place where their owner really cares... and that, I will support. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We sat down at the bar for a few drinks and a bite to eat after shopping. Cozy place, but wow... Worst service ever. The bartender, Walter, was obviously uninterested in his job. Him and another girl were talking crap about another employee and he was just straight up rude. We ordered the meatball app... $8 for two dry, rubbery meatballs that had an odd medicinal taste to it. This site used to be Zao's Noodles, then briefly Grace's Kitchen, and now third time's the charm as Elemental Pizza. The kiddo and I went here at sat at the pizza prep area. We watched the pies being made and baked in a wood fire oven back when it first opened (2012?) and thoroughly enjoyed a Quattro Formaggi. It's been awhile and I had the opportunity to revisit Elemental with two former work colleagues today for lunch. I totally enjoyed the Truffled Mushroom - two cheeses, garlic oil, mushrooms, truffle oil ($15, $2 extra for added Italian Sausage). Wow - superb! The others had ordered the Carnivorous - tomato sauce, Italian sausage, pepperoni, salami, and shredded mozzarella ($16) and the SMH Baked Potato Pie - fresh mozzarella, cheddar cheese, bacon, thinly sliced Yukon Gold potatoes, caramelized leeks, and drizzled with sour cream ($15). Both also enjoyed a margarita and a bar crafted ginger ale, respectively. Their pies are flavor packed and ample, plenty to box up for later! There are also apps, salads, soups, sandwiches, and pasta specials too. But with this visit, they clearly excel and have remained consistent with their pizza pies. Service was pleasant, unobtrusive, and well timed. Clearly these folks are a well oiled team during the lunch hour. Delicious - glad I had the opportunity for another visit. As a new addition to U-Village, I am happy to see Elemental Pizza. There are few choices for good food at U-Village, which is limited to family-friendly but mediocre chain spots like the Ram, Boom and Blue-C Sushi. At Elemental, thin crust individual sized gourmet pizzas are their thing, Elemental is cozy, warm and a great bistro-feeling spot to hit up while holiday shopping. I was excited to run over and try some pizza with potential street cred, and happy to see NE Seattle attracting urban professionals and hipster student types to the hood for pizza and drinks due to Elemental's reputation. In terms of pizza flavors though, I was sadly underwhelmed. We had arugula pizza with prosciutto and I've had this pizza done more creatively almost everywhere else. (The best was recently in NYC with thinly shaved lemon on top.) Pizza was good, but certainly not great, due to a lack of seasoning which not even the salty prosciutto could balance out, and a crust so unevenly cooked that it was intermittently charred in spots, and doughy and not crisped in others. The pizza with meat and tomato sauce (the Carnivore) was enjoyable but similar problem with the crust. I love the idea of giving kids a piece of pizza dough to play with --very creative-- however I have to say that the kids food options are basically limited to one pasta dish, but not a kid-appropriate pizza on offer which was odd. Caesar salad was solid, as was most of the meal, but Elemental, while a big leap over its predecessor in this spot, is more middle of the road than I was hoping it would be. Also, prices are not any better than similar gourmet pizzas in NYC or elsewhere in Seattle, where flavors soar in comparison. Overall in terms of taste and price, unless I am shopping at U-Village, I'd rather venture (even though its more of a trek) to a spot like Delancy for Pizza or Bar Corso, where the pizza is truly exceptional. read more

They used to have a fettucine alfredo, with chicken I think, that was exquisite, absolutely to die for. Best fettucine alfredo I have ever had. Talk about a pizza to knock your socks off. I have driven to U village JUST to get my favorite pizza from them multiple times. It's the Yukon gold (but I add pepperoni) I also enjoy their salads, they're very fresh. My favorite is their caprese salad. The staff is kind and I enjoy the atmosphere. Service was so disappointing! Reading other reviews, it seems like my experience happens often. I went in on a Saturday afternoon with my mom and sister. We were seated after a 2 minute wait at a corner booth, but once seated, no one approached us for over 15 minutes. We sat there looking around to get someone's attention since we weren't sure who our server was supposed to be. The servers were either chatting amongst themselves near the kitchen or serving the customers around us (who came in at the same time as us). They didn't even acknowledge us and it seemed like they forgot us since we were in the corner booth (obstructed view). Our eyes did meet many employees, but none of them approached us, and went back to chatting away. I had to get up and tell the hostess who sat us that no one has helped up for over 15 minutes and she said she'd go check. 3 minutes later a server (who was one of the servers chatting earlier) came with waters and took our order, not even acknowledging how long it took them to finally serve us. It was obvious that we were hungry and irritated from our faces, but she acted as if nothing happened. At least come up with an excuse or something! Pretending like nothing happened made it even worst. When the food came out, everything was just lukewarm. It seemed like the food had been sitting out for a while. We ordered two pizzas, a salad, a pasta dish, and two Italian sodas. Everything was bland, lukewarm, and difficult to finish. The server's name was Katherine. We usually tip at least 20% for bare minimum service. We did not tip this time because of the awful service. We stopped by here for dinner last night and everything was pretty mediocre. First of all, there were only two waiters for the whole restaurant, so service was unsurprisingly very slow. (Despite the slow service, our waiter was at least very friendly!) Everything took a very long time, the salad came out with the pizza instead of before it, and after we finished eating, we waited probably 20 minutes before we even saw out waiter again to ask for a check. When we did finally get our check, the default tip options were 18, 22 or 25%, which just felt straight up greedy given the already high prices and the quality of service and food. As far as the food goes, the crust on my pizza (truffle mushroom) was soggy and rubbery. I don't know if it was underbaked or if it was just a pool of truffle oil that had soaked through it. Either way, it wasn't very appetizing. The best part food we had was easily the Caesar salad, which was very tasty and even though we ordered the small size, it was easily enough for two people to split. I would not recommend ordering a sandwich from this place (I guess that's why the call it elemental PIZZA). I got the rustic sandwich which was super salty and most of the meats were burned to a crisp. I could not finish it because it was too rich. The sandwich was also $13.50, which I think is too expensive for the quality. We did get the burrata which was a good appetizer. The mozzarella was fresh and yummy. Although the presentation of the pesto and balsamic was asthetically pleasing, it is not practical for spreading onto a slice of bread. read more

Service was not too great today 11/27/2022 at 6:45-7:20 My boyfriend and I love coming here, food is great but the service has only been good a couple of times. Our server was Nita H. She only stopped by 1) to take our order, 2) to deliver our order (without asking if we needed anything else) so we had to ask for ranch before she walked away from us. 3) to drop off the ranch. She did not check on us during our whole meal. Even though she walked past us three-four times, the last time she walked by us we had our empty drinks at the edge of the table. She did not notice and it felt like she was avoiding us. Finally we asked for our drink refill and we didn't bother asking for pepper and another ranch we needed. The food was amazing however with pepper needing to be on our Caesar salad and more ranch for our cauliflower it would have been better with a more experienced server. read more

In the past, I used to love coming here whenever I was in the area. Their pizzas were amazing and I loved the thin and perfectly chewy crust. I also really enjoyed The Big Chop salad. It comes with the works, chunks of salami along with a creamy but not so heavy vinaigrette. The food is something I can almost always count on. However, the service is subpar and it has been going downhill almost to the point where I actually left after being seated. The male server (couldn't catch his name since he wasn't wearing a name tag) is one of the WORST. When service is that bad it makes the food taste horrible, too. He sees us but pretends to not make eye contact. When I see him again, he finally decides to seat us in the middle of the restaurant when the booths are pretty much empty. I asked if we could get a booth instead and this dude just rolls his eyes. He doesn't return to our table to bring us water or the menus. I see that he was tending to the people behind us but it was like we were an after thought. At this point after waiting for 15 minutes, the food isn't even worth it so we bounced. Why would I want to waste my money here? The search for a good pizza place continues. We will never be back. read more

coming into the elemental pizza, service was great! everyone is really nice and welcoming when greeting us as we entered the restaurant. the waiter also was very intentive to our table and the others when filling up our waters and checking up on us just in case we needed anything. the food on the other hand, was very bland and raw. it was very undercooked and parts of the pizza dough was either very flat with not enough dough to hold the toppings on the pizza and the crust was huge and flavorless. the toppings were too heavy for the pizza and the red sauce mixed with the cheese was very oily and tasted very unappetizing. i don't know how to describe it. i had to force myself to finish the pizza. it is also very expensive, don't recommend going here for pizza. read more
