    Il Lupo small pizza
    Rebecca Q.

The cutest/authentic-feeling little neighborhood Italian spot in Greenwood! Portions are hugeee so definitely worth the price. The wine was not awesome but was only $9.50 for a glass. Il Lupo pizza in small size was quite large and the crust was phenomenal. Carbonara was light and very smoky flavored with fresh garlic bread. Service was a little slow for the restaurant not being super packed, but enjoyable date night overall.

A cozy small family restaurant, delicious food, friendly service (thank you Peter!). It was our first time here and we all enjoyed it. I had lasagna bolognese (pictured). Generous proportions for both the lasagna and the side salad. And really delicious. My daughter and husband had a grilled warm eggplant salad that I tasted, -really yummy. Dessert was also really good -spumoni ice cream. Great place for small family groups or a romantic dinner.

Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 4/5 Penne Boscaiola was so yummy. The waiter said it was his favorite and I'm so glad I took his recommendation. The calamari had an exterior crunch that was well done so the texture was perfect. -1 on the ambiance because a guy at table next to mine decided it was socially acceptable to play his phone loud because he didn't want to interact with the others at his table.

Food was so amazing service was spot on! We will definitely come back and recommend to everyone. Kinda off the beaten path but completely worth it. We did not try the pizza but everything was so good we got a pizza to go to try. My husband is Italian and he said everything that we got was authentic

I tried Italio last night while attending a birthday dinner. We were seated in a little outdoor turned indoor area next door to the restaurant entrance. They made this area really cute and they have blankets and space heaters along with a fireplace for the winter. It was a tad bit chilly in there but I am not blaming them since it was 17 degrees out. Probably just a hard area to keep warm, especially in the intense cold. I ordered a side caesar and the spaghetti bolognese. The caesar didn't look very dressed so I was worried about the flavor but was pleasantly surprised. The dressing was light and delicious. The one thing that would've made it better would've been freshly cracked black pepper. The spaghetti was tasty and came with two buttery pieces of garlic bread. I'd definitely order this if I have the chance to come back again. The service was phenomenal. We had a fairly large party and they were speedy and answered all our questions. This would be a cute little spot for a quiet date night or a larger party for about 10 people. They don't have many tables so be sure to inquire ahead of time if you are looking to bring a big party.

Wow, what a solid and cozy Italian restaurant in Greenwood! Easy to miss, but just follow the music and you'll find yourself at the footsteps of this gem. My wife stumbled upon this place and we did not regret it. We were dumbfounded by the size of the restaurant, but we were told there's a separate seating area next door. What an adorable patio! We ordered: Focaccia bread Pizza Biancanieve Chicken Parmagiana Tiramisu The focaccia (which was home made) was a great appetizer. Paired with some sweet marinara sauce, the focaccia was light and airy! Maybe could use a tinge more salt, but it was a great start to our meal. The pizza biancanieve was solid. I was initially torn between a house-made pizza sauce and the olive oil base pizzas, since I never tasted olive oil based pizza. The owner (?) was happy to split my pizza down the middle to let me try! In my opinion, the pizza sauce was heavy and flavorful, and the olive oil was lighter but heavy on the garlic. Both were great though, and the pizza (L) was huge. Note: this isn't the best pizza I had in Seattle, but it's pretty damn good. My wife's chicken parm was amazing though. The veggies were great, the garlic bread pieces were extra garlicky, and the chicken was cooked perfectly with an amazing cheese layer on top. The spaghetti underneath was a bit watery, but the dish as a whole was a showstopper. My wife doesn't eat much, but she managed to gobble it all up. The tiramisu, also home-made, was really delicious, definitely worth a try. It's not as light as a traditional tiramisu, but it was definitely loaded with sugary goodness. Basically, if a tres leches cake and a tiramisu had a baby, it would result in this dessert. And I'm not complaining. Overall, one of the better Italian restaurants I had in Seattle. Great portions, great service, and solid food. This may not be THE BEST Italian food out there, but the rustic nature of it and the warm service has me hooked. I'll be back, and I want to try the cannoli (also house-made, you get the picture)!

The food was excellent. Fresh ingredients and great taste. I ordered the pasta and calamari. It was so good and I ate all. Garlic bread with pasta was so delicious. Service was great. The restaurant is cute.

    Homemade Lasagna Bolognese

The lasagna was yummy and a very cozy meal. Great size portions. My partner got the Philly cheesesteak and he loved it (also good portion. He took half home). We also tried the calamari which was good. It did not taste like the basic frozen calamari like other places. The aioli was great too. The staff was very kind and attentive. I have nothing negative about my experience!

Karin has taken care of us countless times, whether it's a quiet Monday or an absolutely packed one due to the events at the town hall across the street, and they have always been warm, patient, and accommodating. I actually celebrated my birthday here because it's one of my favorite spots. I am part of the large group that one of the recent negative reviews is referring to. It happened immediately after the USA FIFA match, and the restaurant was the busiest I've ever seen it. Despite that, Karin still went out of their way to accommodate our requests that normally wouldn't be possible due to the rush, including trying to help with separate tabs when they'd already explained that large groups would likely need to stay on one check. As for things like grabbing water, silverware, plates, or chili flakes...our table had already gotten those before a majority of the group arrived. It's a casual pizzeria, on one of their busiest days ever. Setting and cleaning up the table (especially when seated outside) is not a problem for our group as we do it every week. Which is why it's upsetting that we opened our spot to someone that left such a nasty review. What stood out to me wasn't poor service. It's that despite how overwhelming it must have been to work post-FIFA, Karin was able to take orders, bartend, serve food, and close out checks with professionalism. Sometimes no matter how much effort someone puts in, not everyone leaves happy. The pizza is fantastic! I love showing up every week and trying what new slice they have come up with (in the year that I've been coming here there legit hasn't been a repeat). The atmosphere is great and the staff, especially Karin, have earned our loyalty over the past year. We'll absolutely continue coming back.

If that line is intimidating or wet (think rain!) then duck inside to Pizza and Pasta Bar for a delicious meal. While there we met the owners Bruno and Goli who were helping out behind the counter. They are the nicest people ever! So friendly and accommodating and always smiling. Their pride in their restaurant really shows in their care of the food and customers. I had the infamous meatball sandwich and my wife had the chicken carbonara. They gave us each a slice of their pizza for free as they had a bit extra from one that just came out of the oven. The food was prepared in front of you which is always interesting to watch and the charming brick pizza oven was directly in front of us so we could watch that process as well. Pretty cool. There are a wide variety of pizzas and pastas, desserts and drinks (alcohol too!) available on the menu. We ate at at the bar and had a wonderful conversation with the owners as they bustled about in the open cooking area. I enjoyed my meatball sandwich which had great crunchy crusty bread that held in the contents of melted cheese, red sauce and meatballs. A great choice to get when there. My wife liked her chicken carbonara and as the portion was pretty large, we were able to take some home for later. Extra yummy for me (ha ha)! The complimentary pizza slices were a hit for us as well. Napoli style with thin crust and flavorful toppings. We found out that Goli created the restaurant's design with the face of a woman that looks a lot like Venus in "The Birth of Venus" painting by Botticelli in the Uffizi Gallery in Florence Italy (just sayin'). In a medium nonstick pan, large tong full of wet noodles, one ladle of white sauce, toss them together. Boiled chicken pieces, BOILED chicken tossed into the pan. No seasoning or shredded cheese, or Italian seasoning. Served in a plastic to go container that cost 1.85 extra bc it was to go since they wouldn't allow us to sit w outside food. We also enjoyed the garlic everything fries, which were delicious! We just had to try a flight to sample the brews. There are some really good beers available here, especially the Belgian blonde, citra pale ale, and the stout. I did not really care for the seasonal sour (grapefruit, I think)--to me, it just tasted like a sour and nothing more, but someone with more interest in sour beers would probably enjoy it just fine. Despite the busy night, our server checked on us regularly and was very personable, stopping to chat with us about the local sports scene. There's plenty to look at, inside and out. Oh well, I guess I will be back! The woman heated up my slice and after a few minutes, it was ready. I took my slice and went to sit outside near Pioneer Square so I could be outside and people watch. Pizza was tasty and solid, but the crust was too dry. I have a feeling the slice wasnt the most fresh, so thats why the crust was a bit dry. But, if you know me, I do jot like soggy pizza (I mean - who does??), so a bit drier isn't too big an issue. Unfortunately, the experience is consistently dampened by one of weekend bartenders. As others have mentioned, it's that taller bartender (Alex?) who repeatedly comes across as arrogant and dismissive to us; a less than desirable character trait for a bartender. It's such a pity because that is the sole reason we now lead our groups to spend their money and patronize other establishments instead. Recently we did give Diller another try, but sadly it's the same story and thus this feedback. Hospitality makes a HUGE difference. Bartending isn't just about making a good drink and expecting tips. As someone who tended bar all over Seattle for 23 years, I know how much energy and attitude shape a guest's night. When the service feels cold and passive-aggressively rude, it's hard to feel good about the experience. It's disappointing, because this place has so much potential. Hopefully management considers bringing in weekend staff whose personalities reflect the warmth and atmosphere the space deserves, there are plenty of more qualified bartenders in Seattle that would gladly fill their spot.
