Came here for a post graduation lunch and we all really enjoyed our meal. Service was excellent - our server was warm, patient, and so helpful in getting our order together. The space is pretty accessible too, with no stairs, single person bathrooms, and parking spots close to the restaurant. (But also, good luck finding parking. The U Village is somehow always busy.) They had an overflow room in the back of the restaurant with enough space for bigger groups. Bonus - there's a second bathroom in this area! We ordered two large pizzas, a large Delfino Chopped salad, and Garlic Cheese Bread, and it was more than enough to feed our party of 7 people. We got the deep dish and stuffed style pizzas in Spinach as well as Chicago Firehouse and they were equally spectacular and decadent. I decided to try their Chicago style pizza and it was good! The sauce was tasty and flavorful and there was a decent amount of protein added. Although it doesn't look too much at first, it actually makes you pretty full! There's a lot of crust which was actually enjoyable. I'd recommend grabbing a side of marinara sauce with it. The service was good. The server answered any questions we had and informed us that it'll take around 35 mins for it to be ready. The ambiance was decent. Delfino Pizza surprised me and so far my favorite in Seattle. I'm from NYC and usually prefer New York-style, but their take on Chicago-style is well-executed -- just not the deep-dish I expected. Crust had a pleasant chew and structure, toppings were generous, and the balance of sauce and cheese worked. What I ordered: -Cheese -- my favorite; simple, clean, melty, and the best of the bunch. -Pepperoni -- nicely crisped edges and good flavor. -Chicken & Bacon Ranch -- too much meat for the amount of sauce; not well balanced. Maybe I'm just not a ranch-pizza person. -Gluten-Free Vegetarian -- appreciated the GF option; toppings were fresh and the crust held up. -Cheese Calzone -- excellent turnout: hot, gooey, and nicely browned -- a great comfort option. Small critique: I missed having oregano and crushed red pepper on the table -- that's a New York habit of mine, but would've elevated the slices. I've never been to Chicago so don't know if it's authentic but the pizza here is decent. Granted, it's like $40 for one. I opted to build one. We had 3 toppings and ordered spaghetti. It took a while to prepare and we were well aware of it. It would be nice if they had some kids/family games to pass the time. I have passed by this place many times but first time stopping in. The food was great and great service. The see dish and stuffed pizzas do take about 35 minutes in the oven so be prepared when you go. They have lots f appetizers, salads, sandwiches and pastas to choose from as well a munch on while you wait. Flavor was good, a little salty but overall tasty. Their tomato sauce is very tasty and highly recommend on anything. They have a back room for seating so I guess plenty of seating if you have a large group. read more

I was in UVill with the fam, and we were all in the mood for some Pizza to celebrate my son's birthday. Unfortunately, Delfino's really disappointed. We were seated way in the back of the restaurant and there were flies buzzing everywhere, Yuck! The service was slow, and the staff were really inattentive. When we finally got their attention, the attitude didn't do much to improve the situation. The pizza was really bland and lacked any real flavor, especially for the exorbitant prices. The toppings didn't stand out, and the crust was nothing to write home about either. I have lived in the Chicago area and have had some really great deep-dish pizza and unfortunately Delfino's does not do justice. I would not recommend Delfino's as there are definitely better places to grab a slice or Whole Pie in the Seattle area. read more

This is our first time eating Chicago style pizza and from what we can say now is there is no way NYC pizza can beat Chicago. That deep dish sauce on top guarantees a nice, non-soggy pizza with a slight crunch and is really filling. Price is a bit steep towards couples, but that probably has to do with their location. I don't feel a pizza should ever cost more than $29.99 for a large signature style. This place though is like a nice treat once in a while or if you can afford it weekly. read more

Absolutely disappointed by the staff and food service at this delfino's pizza in uvil. First of all when me and my buddies walk in there's 4 young men, looks like a bunch of college students (nothing wrong with this but just describing to give a more accurate description) working at the front and they're all talking to each other and ignoring customers and my group we be waiting for someone to acknowledge us and seat us and one of the guys stands in from of the other worker and turns his back on us and they continue talking until im like erm hello is someone finna help us ??? So anyways after watching these workers just chat and completely ignore us they finally seat us at a table that's dirty af btw and the cups have a bunch of oil stains and dirt marks and I ask the server to switch the cups and so he does and guess what he just grabs cups off another table and the cups he gives are still dirty LOL. Anyways we be hungry af so we order a regular pepperoni pizza which takes almost 30 minutes to come, and breh mind u there's nobody in the restaurant but us and a couple who is already eating, btw I understand like a deep dish would take long to prepare like that I understand if it's 30 minutes, but we ordered a simple pep. I even asked the server what's the status of our order and he's like oh yeah it'll be right out. Breh he didn't even put the order in. He goes back to the group of workers and starts laughing about how he forgot to place the order. When the pizza finally comes it's soggy af and ong a homemade pizza I make in the dark would taste better than whatever it was they served us. The server did not go out of his way to check on us throughout our dining experience and instead chose to chat with his coworkers and there's one that would occasionally glance and go back to laughing with the others. Our server was a young man with curly perm like black hair and tattoos, and the one who kept laughing with him was an asian young man with black hair and black glasses. I am very dissapointed in my experience today and I will not be going back or recommending this to anyone. I hope that management sees this and has a talk to the employees they choose to work here. I had the Spinach pizza at PostDoc the other day and was a bit disappointed as I'd already talked to a friend who'd ordered one and he said his was cold in the middle, so I asked them to cook it longer (so I wouldn't suffer the same fate). My first bite was indeed probably 70 degrees, so I hate to think what it would have been if it wasn't ordered "well done". I can't imagine sending a pizza out that was cold in the middle when an instant-read thermometer could tell you that it needed some more time in the oven to get the middle hot. Time to invest 20 bucks to keep from serving cold pies. read more

Came by when craving some pizza in UVillage, and I was at Elemental last time I was here. I haven't had deep dish in quite some time, so was excited to eat some. We got food kind of early (4ish pm?) because we ate brunch, and it was pretty busy! They have another entire dining room in the back, which is where we were seated. The two of us ordered spinach stuffed mushrooms and a deluxe stuffed pizza to share, swapping out olives for sauteed onions. The mushrooms were delicious, although it was kind of funny that with the addition of marinara sauce, it just tasted like pizza toppings. The pizza was excellent (although the sausage was a little spicier than the not-spicy I was hoping for), plenty of cheese and toppings (middlings?). We ended up with two of six slices left to take home, so pretty good value! The food did take quite a while to show up, so I wouldn't recommend coming to this place when you're starving-- maybe come about 30 minutes before you're starving! read more

The pizza was very good. We got a large Chicago Style (one of their signatures) and half of it feed four of us (granted, we didn't have any big eaters that day). It was very tasty and at $43, priced fairly well considering current inflation. The service was good, although keep in mind it does take 20-25 mins to cook one of those bad boys. That's just physics. As for ambiance, the restaurant is fairly small with limited seating. I'm sure they get very busy on weekends. Sitting outside with a pizza might be nice, but it's not much to look at inside and no view. I would say it was clean and felt sanitary. Overall, good pizza and a good value. I was in a party of four, we got a deep dish pizza (pepperoni and sausage), a large salad, and then garlic bread. Overall we all gave it 6/10 for the food. Unfortunately our pizza took around 45 minutes to get to our table, and the dough was a bit raw beneath the toppings. We thought that the sausage and the marinara sauce was really bland and flavorless. Our service was also not the best, our waitress rolled her eyes after we all ordered waters, and then rolled her eyes again after we asked for the bill, refills, etc. Everybody else seemed polite enough, maybe she just had a bad day. read more

We visited today, and unfortunately, we had a very disappointing experience. The cashier was rude, dismissive, and disrespectful throughout our interaction, which made us feel very unwelcome. The pizza itself was good, but the poor customer service completely overshadowed the meal. Not an expert but I really love Patxi's before they closed in Ballard. Delfino isn't as good as Patxi's but it's passable. The toppings on the Delfino Special - their namesake - are skimpy and doesn't really go together well in terms of flavor. The crust wasn't fully cooked through I don't think. It's hard to tell if it's cheese...or just unbaked dough. The crust is also bland, not buttery. Anyways something in the execution is off. The highlight was the super generous cheese that was very fresh! The excellent red sauce on top of the Chicago deep dish baked pizza pie is also delicious! read more

I was there for the Chicago style deep dish, so got a mini (personal sized) deep dish Delfino's special. The pizza is not bad, but it's different from the deep dish pizzas I've had in Chicago. Not a rich and heavy, especially with the cheese. Thought it was decent, even if not quite the same as deep dish in Chicago. Also had a bowl of minestrone soup, which was pretty standard. Friend had the fettuccini alfredo and said it was okay. $45 total before tax and tips. Docking a star for cleanliness. What was considerably worse was the Chicago style beef sandwich. The beef was not super thin and over salty without being flavorful. The peppers in the sandwich were not really traditional and I don't think it was a good representation of a Chicago style beef sandwich. Smarty-pants has a much better version. Yummmmy pizza!! They have 4 sizes; mini, small medium, n large. I ended up getting a mini not aware of how small it was due to someone saying their small was huge n filling. The mini is like a beautiful pot pie. I got the spinach pizza n it was goooood! Award winning for a reason. Love how u can watch the the chefs make the food. Will probably need to revisit this review in the future, but this is just based on my experience with a single slice of pizza. I swung by to grab a slice to-go. In the slice case, they typically have the following options as slices before 2pm: - Thin crust cheese $5.50 - Thin crust pepperoni (they were out today) $5.50 Classic deep dish stuffed spinach $6.50 Special deep dish (today it was chicken bacon ranch) $6.50 I ordered a slice of the classic stuffed spinach. (Note, the "thin" crust just means regular/non-deepdish crust, not actually "thin crust") It looked cheesy in the case when she pulled the slice out, but by the time I opened the box to take a bite I was disappointed in the lack of cheese pull (I took a bite the second I walked out the door for optimal freshness). The bottom of the crust was a bit soggy, and the crust had kind of a thick gummy and doughy yet cardboardy texture that almost tasted a bit raw. The sauce had good flavor, I didn't really notice the spinach, and it did not have much cheesiness. Basically, just tasted like thick dough with sauce. I took a few bites and decided to take the rest home to reheat and hopefully get a better cheese pull (it didn't really make a big difference, tbh) Overall, the slice was fine but I wasn't impressed. The crust was the most disappointing in taste and texture, it lacked that satisfying cheesiness, and I was underwhelmed with the size of the slice as well (for about $8). On the positive side, I was able to walk in, order a slice, and walk right out so there was no wait. (I did have to ask for a napkin, but I think that might be standard practice now to have to ask for takeout utensils/etc) I'll give it another go...but I'm not eager to do it anytime soon. read more

Our friends boasted about this place so much that we had to try it ourselves, and I'm a huge pizza lover, so duh! So here's where I think we went wrong...We ordered the wrong pizza. We got the spinach deep dish pizza, and there was honestly nothing special about it. It was fine. We only ordered it because on the menu apparently this is the pizza that made them famous (really?). The marinara sauce was also on the top, which I wasn't expecting, not a big fan. Other pizzas on tables nearby definitely looked waaaay better. For some reason, I had commitment anxiety when ordering. Even a small deep dish seemed like a lot of pizza to invest in. I didn't want to order something that I didn't like. I tried the Italian Beef ($14) and it was so tasty! Maybe a bit over salted but with such complex other flavors from the giardiniera and seasonings that I loved it! I didn't dip in the au jus a ton since that was super salty and somewhat took over the acids and spices I was more enjoying. I don't know about the rest of their food, and the venue is cute but a bit cheesy (think a poster with images of brick rather than brick itself like you might actually see in Chicago), but service was nice and reasonably fast, it smelled yummy inside, and the price was good for the post-COVID world of gauging!
