We had my sister's bridal shower here today and it was lovely! We did this in the morning for a brunch and the food was so delicious I didn't even pause to take any pictures. The whole venue had a very clean and classy vibe, and a lot of the guests loved that there were so many ice cream places within walking distance to grab a little treat on their way back to their cars after.

As a former event planner, I'm very particular about details. That said, I couldn't be more happy with our experience at Elements at Water Street. A couple of weeks ago, we held a baby shower for my daughter at Elements on Water Street. We wanted to do a traditional English afternoon tea for approximately 40 guests with a custom menu. We wanted to bring in our own tea pots and tiered serving trays. We also had specific ideas for the decor. Working with Cheryl prior to the event and Mollie the day of the event was a dream come true. Both were helpful and caring while still being professional. The chef, who had come from a venue downtown Chicago that serves an afternoon tea, was very willing to be flexible to our custom menu ideas. The food was not only beautifully presented but delicious! I feel very fortunate to have found this venue for my daughter's baby shower. It was just what we had in mind!

My family is beyond grateful to Cheryl Cady and her incredible team for ensuring that our son's wedding was pure perfection! Our friends and family could not stop gushing about the fabulous food, gorgeous ballroom, ambience and customer service. The waitstaff and bartenders could not have been nicer or more accommodating. Thank you, Cheryl, for your excellent communication, guidance in planning, recommended vendors, attention to detail and kindness throughout. We always felt like we were in great hands!! I highly recommend Elements at Water Street for any special event. Photo by Katherine Salvatori Photography.

This is a very nice venue. We had our holiday party for work here last week and everything was wonderful! I wasn't involved with the planning of it, I just showed up to work but the staff there were wonderful - the bartenders were super friendly, and kudos to one of the staff members Zach....who could not do enough for us! From attending the coat room to bringing out our coat drive toys to water street to our cars, that guy did them all - such an asset to the place. They had some nice perks with our meal package like a gnocchi bar (the chicken garlic ones were amazing) and a mashed potato bar... so fun! I highly suggest having your event here, it really is a lovely place!

Dance floor in the ballroom and the amazing ceiling!

Could not have nicer things to say about working with My Chef and Jamie Walsh for our wedding day…read morecatering. We met Jamie at our venue's vendor expo and were immediately impressed by their services, pricing, and vast food offerings. It was a no brainer to book with their group! We had our tasting a couple months before our wedding day; which is complimentary to the couple and a $50 charge for any additional guest to join. They have you select 8-10 appetizers, 2 salads, and 4 entrees to taste at their Naperville location. They also have displays of china, silverware, glasses and more to help couples select what aligns aesthetically for their special day. Jamie worked with us to make small modifications to their standard offerings to make the food exactly what we wanted! Our wedding day came and we were floored by the quality/presentation of food, level of detail in place settings, and service from all staff members. We had multiple guests say that this was some of the best wedding food they've had, steaks were not over cooked, and food tasted fresh. Jamie also let us add desserts a week out to reallocate money from a couple of guests who last minute were unable to attend. Their team was even nice enough to service items not purchased through their group: disposables for the late night snack, display and refilling of cupcakes, etc. Overall, their group went above and beyond for us under Jamie's leadership. Our tables looked great, our food was wonderful, and their team was fabulous. We truly appreciate all they've done for us and could not recommend them more! Appetizers Selected: Mac & Cheese Bites, Bacon Wrapped Dates w Honey Citrus Sauce, Cocktail Meatballs, Bruschetta Bar Salad Selected: Mixed Field Greens w Pears, Goat Cheese, Pear Infused Vinaigrette. *Alts: Candied Walnuts & Second Balsamic Dressing to offer Dinner Selections: 1. I came here today for the first time. I decided to go with the $10.99 plate. The gentleman in line…read morenext to me was very nice and he recommended the meatballs in a mushroom sauce. The meatballs were delicious, the sauce actually was very good and I don't even like mushrooms at all. The second item I got was the meat filled dumplings, and those were really good. They were actually a lot better than I thought they would be. The third item I tried was the smoked Polish sausage. I will be honest, this was not my favorite. It was not bad, but the flavor on it I did not like as much as other Polish places I've tried. I definitely want to go back and try their cabbage and noodles and pigs in a blanket. They also have desserts that I will have to try as well. They do sell sandwiches, Chicago style hotdogs, and have a small grocery store inside.

This was a cool place to check out. Yes, the shop is tiny so the aisles are made for one person to…read moreget through. However, this place is kind of tucked away so it wasn't busy at all in the afternoon. The outside of the building just says Deli. If you like Polish food, you'll love it here. I read some people exaggerating about the wait times. It does not take long for them to help you. Like Jewel or Mariano's, they're not going to slice your meat in 10 seconds if that's what you're hoping for. Btw the staff was nice. I think the Karen's that complain about them being rude are not very cultured and only know American culture. I ordered the signature pastrami sandwich for $10.99 and it was a very generous portion size. She put a ton of meat in it. The pastrami wasn't tough, it was fresh and soft. Honestly, I had Katz's in NY and this was a really great pastrami sandwich. I also got a large cannoli and meat pierogis. The cannoli was delicious. The pierogis were good but I like to have softer skin. The meat filling was fine but the outside was a bit too tough. I've been to a number of Polish restaurants and they usually make the skins very soft to cut. I would rate these pierogis like a 4. Overall, it's about a 4.5. Prices were very cheap. I got everything for $20. I will definitely return to try more items.

Catering Made Simple was, without question, the most stressful, unprofessional, and disappointing vendor of my entire wedding. What makes it worse is that the owner chose coercion over accountability -- attempting to pressure me into deleting my review before even agreeing to speak with me. That alone should tell you how they handle their mistakes. I posted multiple public notices tagging them and gave them a deadline -- Friday, September 26 at 12:00 PM -- to reach out and make things right. Despite several attempts, they ignored every one. Planning Failures: Our contract clearly stated a plated dinner, and I provided a detailed color-coded diagram with guest names, allergies, and meal choices weeks in advance. Despite this, staff insisted it was a buffet while we were lined up for our ceremony. I had to walk into the reception in my gown minutes before walking down the aisle to correct them. Because of their confusion and refusal to listen, our ceremony was delayed -- critical time lost as we were already working around rain. Execution Failures: We paid for full cake service, but utensils were missing, and flimsy tools from a décor box labeled "Do not use" were handed to us. Our cake, made by a close friend, was ruined when staff shoved a fragile custom topper -- still in its frame -- into the cake, splitting the top tier. One staff member even called it "cheap." They also failed to provide the highboy table we paid for and placed our cake awkwardly in the back of the dessert table. Guest Service Failures: Staff hovered over tables and repeatedly asked guests if they were finished. My own half-eaten meal was cleared while I was in the restroom, leaving me hungry at my own wedding. When I asked for water, I was escorted to the bar instead of being served. Professionalism & Accountability: My coordinator was harassed to the point of tears, and staff even threatened to pull me aside during the reception to complain about her. The owner, Greg, was present all night, saw me address problems directly, and never once spoke to me or apologized. Instead, he posted defensive public comments and tried to coerce me into removing my review. The only positive: the food was warm, tasty, and as expected from the tasting -- but that's where the good ends. The impact on our wedding was significant: * Our ceremony was delayed. * My coordinator was harassed. * Our cake -- lovingly made by a friend -- was ruined. * Guests felt uncomfortable. * I was left hungry. * The owner refused to take responsibility. To top it all off, I have since been blocked from a major Chicago wedding vendor group -- likely due to a complaint from Catering Made Simple -- instead of them engaging in constructive dialogue. Catering Made Simple failed in planning, execution, professionalism, and accountability. They caused unnecessary stress and ruined key moments of a once-in-a-lifetime day -- and then tried to silence me. Brides and grooms: do not risk your wedding on this company.
