I love local businesses, and I love it even more when they deliver great food and drink. Elements is such a staple in Downtown Biddeford. It's a great place to meet a friend for a drink, stop in to get some work done, or run in and grab a coffee to go. They have a great selection of books, coffee, and beer, so they definitely live up to their sign. The staff is always friendly, and the atmosphere is delightful. I have a toddler so I don't get to enjoy the nightlife in Biddeford much, but even driving by Elements on my way to grab take out brings me joy, seeing live bands performing and everyone crowded around to watch. Elements is just one of the many reasons Biddeford feels like home for my family. read more

This is outstanding. A coffee shop in Biddeford that you would love to meet up at with your friends, spend hours reading a book or surfing the internet. Excellent coffee slow poured or the brew of the day. I don't want to sound too surprised but I am. Even the inside feels like a cafe that you just want to hang out at. The lighting, the exposed brick, the newspaper countertop, the rows of books, the wood floors. You just want to hang out. The staff were really friendly and helped me pick out a brew that fit my taste. I haven't been here for wine or beer yet. So, I can't comment on that. However, for every bit of amazingness this place is there is just as much potential to work towards. read more

This place is the best place to stop at in the Biddeford/Saco area, for great coffee. They have ready brew, if you want to get a quick coffee, or pour over, if you have some time. Both taste great, but I love my pour over. I've also tried their iced coffee and iced lattes. Both tasted great, and didn't have too much ice, like many places put in. The Bard Coffee that they brew tastes amazing, and is roasted right in Maine. You're better off than Starbucks, that's for sure. Additionally, they carry a decent selection of local products, such as whole bean coffee to bring home, peanut butter, jam, and more. I'll add more, as I experience other parts of the shop. Elements is a unique cafe with lots of creativity. If you think about the periodic table, then the name of the cafe makes more sense! Aside from having a cup of coffee (Co), beer (Be) is served, there are books (Bk) to read, live music (Ms), trivia (Tr) every Tuesdays at 7 pm and great seating arrangements. If you're not a beer drinker or coffee drinker, wine and assorted teas are offered too! Aside from drinks and books, food is on the menu, huzzah! If you're gluten free, they have snacks when they are available. Bagels, muffins, cookies, scones and biscotti are served daily. Kamasouptra soups are sold seasonally......wish it wasn't because those soups are so savory! Tapas plates are popular on the menu. The cheese plate (not the small one) is big enough for two that's for sure. Brie, blue cheese, goat cheese, and cheddar are neatly displayed with ample crackers and grapes. I can't wait to try the hummus and charcuterie plates! I love unwinding here after a hard day's work and coming on the weekends to have a chill day! I've been trying to find a zen cafe that I click with and Elements has stolen my heart. The staff take pride in the place and are great to talk to when you sit at the bar area. Fridays and weekends tend to get crowded because the live music is really worth listening and jamming out too! read more

I've been back to Elements many times and it's everything I could want in a downtown coffee shop. They've got their hours figured out, they now serve beer, there's live music sometimes, excellent used books, and the atmosphere is really cool. I'm not sure what's happening with wine, but they've got amazing beers so it's less important. Oh, and they're next door to Engine which is an amazing art gallery and performance space where something is always going on. That's another big plus. read more

I absolutely love this spot. Their ginger orange iced tea and jasmine iced tea is delicious and their wifi is extremely fast. I've been spending most days here to get work done. It's the perfect place to stay focused and fire off any emails to a co-worker, write the next chapter to your mystery novel, relax with a good book and coffee or tea, catch up with an old friend, or just enjoy the music. The people who work here are extremely friendly and soft spoken as are the folks who come in as paying customers. Beyond impressed with this gem in Biddeford. Great music, friendly service and super fast free wifi. I love places like this. I had some soup, a couple craft beers and an iced mocha for the road. All excellent. Books galore, great coffee, great beer, really good snacks, normal prices, nice and informed staff who put on an eclectic playlist, and balance conversation and service. The only downside is you have to bus your own table-so be prepared to carry what you order. It's like if Starbucks sold beer and better coffee in my living room. I can't give this place enough stars. When my friend suggested to me the other night that we go out for a latte in Biddeford, I am ashamed to admit that my first reaction was not positive. She assured me that this place was the real deal. I take my lattes very seriously and will admit that I can sometimes border on being a latte snob. I am sooooo glad that I took a chance on Elements! It really shocked me how urban and warm and inviting a place it was. It had a really cool industrial vibe to it. I loved how the smell of books and coffee welcomed us as soon as we entered the door. We were also pleasantly surprised to hear live music being performed. I got a delicious biscotti and a hazelnut latte. I wouldn't say it was the best latte that I've had, it was a little on the bitter side... But this place was so wonderfully surprising that I'll be going back again for sure. Our quest for a great Cafe Americano in the Portland area yielded no fruit so we started heading back to Ogunquit. My daughter remembered hearing about this place called Elements in Biddeford, so we decided to get off the highway and take a look. After four very bad attempts in Portland, our expectations were sort of dragging close to the road. As soon as we walked in , the entire vibe changed to a more upbeat tone. The atmosphere was very pleasant, the owner (Katie) had a huge smile and gave us a warm Maine welcome on a rather chilly day. We explained our disappointments thus far and she immediately said she had us covered. After a short tutorial, she went to work. The grinder whirred. The espresso dripped smoothly into the cup. Hot water was then added followed by the almond milk which was steamed ever-so carefully to Just the right temperature and and then poured into the cup. The result was the perfect Americano that lacked the bitterness and harsh aftertaste, the previous cups and wrought. While we continued sipping one of the best Americanos, jubilation rang out into the streets. As we said our goodbyes, we thanked Katie and her staff for a great experience and a few laughs. You would be remiss if you didn't stop in at Elements on Main Street in Biddeford and tried one of the many excellent drinks they have to offer. read more

This is my favorite place to study, read, and drink wonderful local beverages. They're very accommodating for vegans, and offer warm and cold drinks for any pallet. I recommend the iced chai tea, if you're looking for something cool on a hot day, or a jasmine green tea if you're looking to relax. The staff are kind and cute, always going the extra mile, even if they're busy. The place always has a cozy vibe, playing all the best music. Elements is my absolute favorite place to spend time in Biddeford, Maine. It's a quaint setting, has excellent coffee and beer, and the staff are friendly, fast, and courteous. If you're looking to purchase literature, Elements has that too and the owner is a master of curating the perfect selection. I highly recommend spending some time at Elements. There is always plenty of parking and you can go anytime from early morning to evening when they have bands and trivia. read more

Attended a private event held there. My first time there and I will definitely go back. The food they made was terrific. Roast beef sliders deliciously slid down. THIS PLACE SUCKS Me and my friends go to trivia every week and it's always been fine if just a few of us bought coffee. Tonight we went into trivia and one of us bought a hot chocolate and a biscotti. We were approached 7 times asking the rest of us what we wanted. The rest of us responded that we were fine and we just wanted to do trivia. We were kicked out because not everyone in the group bought something. If we hadn't come in they wouldn't have sold the hot chocolate or the biscotti. Plus there was a whole table of people behind us who didn't buy anything! We are NEVER going back. Biddeford has several Dunkin' Donuts, one Starbucks and a Tim Hortons out by the strip malls, and otherwise bad coffee at practically every little gas station. What's a coffee lover to do? Well, that is why Elements, the only real cafe in the whole freakin' metropolis, is so unbelievably important for both the culinary scene in Biddo as well as the "renaissance" that people have been crowing about for many years, but which still stands on shaky legs. Mix Yordprom, Tandem, & Hilltop in a bean roaster, grind em up good, and shake out a healthy portion in a huge empty space in industrial downtown Main Street. Stock with lots of books, excellent coffees, multiple, changing yummy draft beers, simple, moderately-priced, locally-sourced tapas, add interesting clientele, including the slowly-mounting tide of hipsters who are discovering Biddefud as the next new thang, stressed-out UNE med students, and lots of local community, et voilà you have Elements. I have sealed so many deals here with clients who look around and change their mind about the "ghetto" that is Biddo. For that alone, the place gets five stars, quid pro quo, but even without any skin in the game this place gets four thumbs up for its relaxed, courteous, and most definitely not attitude-filled service and atmosphere, the almost monkish aspect of a bookstore cafe, conducive to learning, surfing, chilling, and sweet-talking clients. The beer selection is great, the wine so-so, the coffee wonderful, and the food is OK too! What more do you want? Is it worth a trip down from Portland, well of course not, but for those of us who ply their trade to the south, Elements stands out as a beacon of culture and hope for the future. read more
