English Toffee Cold Brew with Toffee Cold Foam
    Denise B.

We came to Maine to visit my daughter who lives. While visiting Lyman, we came across Swell Nitro. The coffee house is quaint and right off the Main Street in Saco. I had the seasonal English Toffee cold brew with vanilla cold foam, it was amazing. My husband had the Blueberry and Banana Nut Lattes, we came back multiple days. The staff were friendly and helpful. Definitely worth the 15 minutes trip.

Today was my second trip to Swell Nitro, and it once again did not disappoint. They clearly invested in phenomenal branding - as you can feel a west coast vibe throughout the cafe. The staff are delightful, and clearly experts in what they do. They execute each drink with the greatest of ease, even when it's packed out with customers - nothing rattles them. Favorite drinks include the Banana Bread Latte, Apple Pie Latte, and the Pumpkin Nitro. All have bold, perfectly crafted flavors without the burnt bean taste of the other well known chain that's found everywhere. They also have a great variety of pastries on offer - all from a local bakery! This will surely become out weekend treat - so glad that they've come to amp up the flavors of downtown Saco!

    nitro matcha with oat milk

I came here once and tried their nitro matcha with oat milk. It was very watery. I didn't feel like the nitro part made the drink any smoother or tastier. The milk added appeared to be just a splash. I probably wouldn't get this drink again here or anywhere else based on this experience. Matcha latte seems like a better option. I have heard positive things about Swell's coffee though. The staff seemed nice, as did the store which seemed clean and comfortable.

Been following along with their social media since they first started posting. I appreciate trying out new coffee spots and new spots in general. With a soft opening today and their grand opening tomorrow means stop in and give this place a try. Once their menu was posted the drink that stood out as a must try was their banana bread iced latte and my fiancée said we must go. The space is bright and inviting with a good amount of seating including some tables and bar sitting style. The staff were friendly and welcoming with smiles on their face. My fiancée got the banana bread iced latte and I got the maple sea salt iced latte. Both were phenomenal but the winner of the two being the banana bread, it nails the flavor. If you are a fan of coffee shops add this new spot to your list! I look forward to returning to try more of their drinks and get the banana bread latte again.

Banana Bread Latte and a blueberry danish!

Banana Bread Latte! What a beautiful morning treat in a glass! I was greeted with warmth and a smile! The space is welcoming and clean! The first sip of the latte made me close my eyes for a moment. The velvet texture, subtle sweetness and smooth espresso taste all came together in a moment of perfection. It is safe to say, I will be back!

Today was finally that day we did. Street parking nearby was easy and while not busy it had friendly patrons who were hitting it off and making friends, showing it to be a friendly inviting space. The staff greeted us right away with a smile. We came down for the Mocha Madness event they were doing. My wife loves mocha so it was a no brainer. For this week they have 8 different mocha drinks available and each is going head to head bracket style and winners are based on sales. Great concept and many great flavors to pick from. My wife ended up picking the Rose Mocha and I got the Hazelnut Mocha. If we were more local we would have made a plan to try them all and actually determine our favorite of the 8. We also grabbed a bag of coffee beans to enjoy at home! They also had a local candle maker selling his candles so a great example of local supporting local. If you find yourself in the Biddeford/Saco area I highly recommend checking out Time & Tide. Great vibes with high quality coffee.

This morning, my wife and I finally planned to go check out their space for the first time. What more could you truly ask for than a cafe/coffee shop meets bookstore meets beer bar! My wife is more of an avid reader than I am so she enjoyed the book aspect more. They have a large menu of offerings drink wise with everything you'd expect from a coffee shop. I do wish they did a rotating seasonal special drink menu, as places usually have one or more great sounding drinks on those. Both my wife and I settled on an iced blueberry latte. Overall it had hints of blueberry and tasted more like milk than anything. Would not be rushing back for it specifically that's for sure. Food wise they have some in-house baked goods as well as bagels from Rose Foods and corssiants from Little Spruce Baking. My wife got a plain bagel with cream cheese while I grabbed a chocolate croissant. I did mess up by not requesting it be warmed up but it was still delicious! Will be finding more spots that have goodies from Little Spruce. The bagel was also tasty. Book wise my wife enjoyed browsing but did not find any books she needed to grab. She did enjoy reading a couple chapters of her current book while we sat by the large windows (good spot for world watching outside). We enjoyed our visit but have other spots we would be happier to visit again.

It's really a combination of everything about this spot that brings us back. The only thing even close to a negative I could come up with would be the fact it's not located closer to us, but it would become dangerous and a must visit every weekend if it were closer. You will step in the door and it's a warm and welcoming space with a selection of tables, window seats and communal style table as well. Also during warmer times they have a back patio as well. The staff and owner Tyler have always been nice greeting you right away and going the extra mile for customer service! Besides the vibes the drinks and food are always top notch as well. From the chai lattes, espresso martinis, huge list of flavored lattes you really can't go wrong! Food wise since the beginning the sandwiches were my all time favorite breakfast sandwich and they continue to be! Besides their usual menu offerings they are constantly working on specials to keep you coming back for something different. For example the visit today my wife loved her Catface Florentine that came on an English muffin with swiss, bacon, sausage, spinach, with a lemon-dill aioli. If you find yourself in the area or even semi-close add this spot to your list of places to check out! Incredible food and drinks with friendly and fast service with phenomenal vibes overall!
