We are having to delay our remodeling project till next year, so I will update this review with…read moremore info when we move forward, but Teamwork Home Designs already deserves a resounding 5 Stars, and is absolutely who we would want to move forward with. Avi was an absolutely delight. Fast, clear communication before the initial meeting. Very thoughtful approach in our initial meeting. So many images from their highly impressive portfolio to help us think through options. Excellent examples of communication and workflow from previous projects. Instantly ready to share previous customers we could reach out to for references. A really good balance between sharing his ideas for our project, but also really listening to our feedback on what we wanted/invisoned. All the right insights for how to keep us in budget, and very generous with (we can add this/that for little/no extra costs since we're already doing XYZ). We mainly requested a bid on two projects (Kitchen and Primary Bathroom) and help deciding the scope for the remainder of our projects (Flooring, Guest Bath, Office, Patio, Etc.). We were very impressed with how realistic, but also open-minded he was with what portion of our "bonus" projects we could fit in. The formal quote came in fast after our initial meeting, was easy to follow, and fairly priced. Found the proposed timeline to be very well balanced for efficiency vs realism. Appreciated the suggestions provided for if we should/could "live-in" during the remodel vs. a timeline that would allow the bulk of the work to overlap with a time that we were going to be out of town already. Also insights on what it would be worth "buying in advance" to take advantage of sales, even if the actual work was delayed. We got a few quotes and would have felt confident moving forward with any of them when the time came, but the quality of their portfolio and Avi's attentive listening definitely put Teamwork Home Designs at the top of the list. Can't wait to work with them in the future.

My experience with this company was disappointing. Before hiring, I recommend asking to speak with…read moreprior clients and reviewing completed projects similar to the scope of work you are considering. The team appeared comfortable working on bathroom renovations; however, the shower diverter was not installed correctly, which caused the handle to be improperly aligned. We later hired a licensed plumber to inspect and correct the issue. Overall, the quality of work did not meet our expectations. Some aspects of the workmanship appeared rushed, and based on our experience, I would recommend exercising caution with detail-oriented tasks such as wood staining, drywall, painting, or door hardware installation. This project did not go as smoothly as anticipated, and I would not choose to work with this company again.

We are in the process of completing a kitchen remodel using a design by Round Rock Cabinets Direct…read morewith cabinets manufactured by Waypoint. Our kitchen designer was helpful and courteous, and we ended up with a cool design with a good amount of high-end features (all plywood, 42 inch upper, two lazy susans, big base cabinet drawers, etc.) for our budget. The experience was much more pleasant than our quotes at Lowes/Home Depot, and we got a very reasonable quote. We ordered and paid on August 4th. Cabinets were actually delivered on September 12th. The 5+ week lead time was longer than we anticipated but workable and more of an issue with Waypoint. I was very concerned about potential quality issues based on reading online forums. There were some relatively minor paint problems that we can probably touch up (the promised touch up kit was not included in our sink base, unfortunately). We discovered two bigger problems: a cracked wall cabinet door and a missing gap in the design with no filler pieces to address. The 3.5 inch gap should have been addressed in the kitchen design and measuring process, but, alas, it was not. These two issues have delayed the completion of our project, inconveniencing my family and our install contractor. I reported the problem on 9/14, and we still have not received the corrected pieces as of 9/22. Tracking indicates possible delivery on 9/23. Waypoint claims to have "Rapid Resolution", but 9 days is far from rapid when you are in the middle of a renovation project. I was told the parts shipped on 9/16, but tracking indicates that shipment did not occur until 9/21. I hate to give a negative review, because the people I have worked with at Round Rock Cabinets have been friendly and helpful. That said, I don't feel very good about this situation. After a pretty good start to our project, the communication and resolution of our issues has not inspired much confidence.

We…read morereceived several quotes but went with Joy because I felt very comfortable with her and she was easy to work with. She has lived in or around my neighborhood for decades and I liked that her shop was just up the street. Her crew was very respectful, professional, always on time and willing to answer any (and all!) questions. It was a long project and there were usually two people in our house for 6 weeks. Like I said - it was a full gut to the studs and then built back out. The project was completed on time and the changes to quote/contract were only due to requests and changes we made. There were never any surprises. They laid down floor coverings every morning to protect the hallway, front entry and bedroom and then cleaned up every day when they left. They did our master bathroom first. They ripped out a 40+year old tub/shower combo insert, toilet, vanity, mirror, popcorn ceiling, etc. They built a custom shower floor, moved the drain and installed new plumbing. They tiled the floor, the walk-in shower and a full wall of tile behind the toilet and vanity. The end result was beautiful and the work was fantastic. There will always be questions and some touch up on a project this size but they were always quick to fix anything that I noticed seemed "off" to me and even came back on a Saturday to check on a non-emergency item that they knew we were anxious to have completed. They did the guest bathroom after the master was complete. Same thing - ripped out an old tub/shower insert, removed everything down to the studs, removed popcorn, etc. They then installed a brand new tub, toilet, plumbing, vanity, mirror, and added some electrical. They tiled the floor and around the shower, build a custom shelf at one end of the tub, installed a light tube (a great way to bring natural light into a dark bathroom/hallway!) and installed the vanity, mirror and lights. Joy and her team were a pleasure to work with and very helpful when I had questions about some final decisions I had to make. They offered suggestions when I asked. Thanks Zach, Donna, Felix, Stephen and Eduardo!

We purchased our kitchen during IKEA kitchen sales - and realized later it is a pain to find the right crew to do it, as a lot of general contractors out there are either not willing to touch IKEA products or to charge ridiculous amount to read through the manuals. Of course we can go with IKEA partner - but they are kinda on the expensive side and so swapped due to the sales event. I met with Joy and Donna - both are very knowledgeable and decided to work with them. Joy's crew worked hard to stick with the agreed timeline and the quality is beyond expectation. From the very beginning the quote Joy sent over was itemized, clear and precise. They also have a very comprehensive contract to sign with you (I was surprised to see some of the companies dont do that!). Before signing - all the terms and clauses are carefully explained. During the process - her crew is NEVER LATE. Actually they are often early! Martinez led the project and he is very dedicated, detail oriented and patient. He helped answer all my questions (yes it is very important for a remodeling new-bee). Whenever there is a problem he would always make sure to walk me through the options and offer his professional opinion. The office crew is amazing to work with as well - they are very responsive, willing to listen and accommodate. We had one minor fix after the remodeling and when I raised the question, the office sent their guy over right away. Overall I will definitely recommend them!

Abbie set up a measurement appointment within a few days. Chad came out to measure our kitchen countertops to get an accurate estimate. We received the estimate later that same day, and it was very reasonable. I went into the shop to choose my granite and met Rebecca and Amanda. After choosing my granite and free sink, our installation was scheduled. From start to finish the whole process took about a week. Edgar and his crew installed our countertops and even came back to address a concern I had with shims( I keep my old backsplash so to make the countertops level shims we're needed). Edgar came by very happily and addressed my concern and made a slight tweak to trim the shims. I would highly recommend BLG and their team for granite countertops. This fancy-pants "nursery" in North Austin offers financing for your project (or partners with…read moresomeone who does). That should tell you: it's looking for customers with fat wallets. I asked if they were a native plant nursery on the phone and the salesman responded "we guarantee all our plants, so we wouldn't be doing that for plants that won't grow well here." NOTE: That is not an affirmative answer--it's an evasion. Selection is limited to medium to large containers, and well-established trees in MASSIVE containers (those certainly require delivery, I'm thinking). No seedlings or small containers, that I could see. This was a huge disappointment, since I was led to believe I was going to a native plant nursery, and that I would be offered assistance and advice. Neither turned out to be true. This nursery really wants you to buy into letting THEM do the work for your "project," from design to installation to maintenance. If you've got unlimited cash to burn and you want to pay them to maintain their work, go for it! This doesn't feel like a place where you can come as a gardening novice and get advice and ideas--what you're going to get (assuming that someone decides to speak to you while you're there--someone did speak to me in fact, to tell me nicely to move out of the way) is an upsell--or a brush-off, if you're deemed too small-fry to waste their time with you. Of course this impression is formed by a few minutes on the phone where the SALESMAN (not gardener, not plant expert) encouraged me to bring in photos of my yard so they could help with the design, followed by an excited trip to the nursery, and discovering that what's here is mostly large containers, lots of very large trees (get three large trees for only $10,000!), and lots of (I think) non-natives. Don't come here if you want to learn how to do things yourself. If you want full sized trees to plop into the ground and someone to do the work of maintaining them, or you really like the idea of financing an instantly landscaped yard without having to do anything but open your wallet or going into substantial debt--then Moon Valley may be just the place for you.
