I really didn't want to write this but feel I must. This location is practicing fraudulent behavior. Now I see this seems to be common practice for them. Since I retired, I determined I no longer wanted to accumulate monthly sessions so I cancelled my membership and received 6 giftcards (equivalent to several hundred dollars) for the unused sessions I had accumulated. I was assured TWICE that the cards did not have expiration dates but I had to use them at this location. I was happy with that. I made an appointment on their website and received a call today telling me they will not honor the gift cards since they are under new management. They are still under the same corporate umbrella company. I'm now out hundreds of dollars. I consider this very poor customer service. I do not recommend this location. Beware... read more

Like many of the other reviews in the last couple of months, this establishment became completely unrecognizable after the change in ownership. My wife and I have been going to this location for a decade, and we will never be returning barring ownership selling. We purchased e-gift cards in December and when we tried to use them, they were suddenly unable to find them on the account and that they don't sell the gift cards it's a third party named Hownd. Since these gift cards were never given to us, we did a chargeback. Conveniently, once the chargeback went through, they called us saying that they can see the balance on our account now. When we went into the location to discuss, the "manager" threatened to ban us and charge us for the dispute fee. I then called the next day to cancel my account and was told the person who we talked to was just a "front desk" employee and that despite their website saying membership is month to month, they need 30 days notice on cancelling. When I refused to pay that, they "terminated my account". I would not recommend this location, purely on the behavior of management. I contacted the customer support and they were basically no help. I emailed their district and they stop replying to me. What a freaking joke. My husband and I have gone to Elements Massage for a long time but with the new ownership would not recommend. I purchased $400 worth of gift cards in December and were never sent the gift cards (e-gift cards). We called Elements prior to a scheduled massage and they told us they could look it up. When I went to pay, they said they can't help me because it was through a third party. I disputed the charge and then suddenly Massage Elements had full view of my gift cards and threatened to pass along the chargeback fees to me (illegal by the way). I then went to speak with the manager about this and their unacceptable threat to pass Fees along to me when I was not acting maliciously. She ultimately threatened to ban Me and I walked out before it escalated further. Hownd is the third party and confirmed to Me that Elements Massage had access to my gift cards the entire time. Take your money elsewhere. Erin is amazing and will be impossible to replace her. This is a luxury good and the owners should recognize they are one of many and not the least expensive. I had a membership at Elements previously & had nothing but great experiences with staff. After canceling, I paid individual fees to transfer my remaining massages to gift cards (suggested by staff.) I had a bit of trouble using one a year ago, but the issue was resolved. Today I received a call before my appointment & was told they couldn't find my gift card in the system. I told the woman I had 2 more, but she didn't offer to look them up or suggest any resolution. I asked her to please look them up & got a return call 30min later offering no suggestion on a further course of action, just "someone should email you this week." I'm left feeling my business is of no importance to Elements & no respect was given for my loss of time and in over $200 in gift cards. I was not even asked if I'd like to keep my appointment & pay on my debit card! After this interaction, I will absolutely not do business with this location again. ​I'm appalled by the lack of concern & not being offered anyone else I could speak to or any concern, period. If I don't hear from anyone, I plan to file a complaint for unethical business practices since there is no corporate contact information available. The massage therapists are wonderful however, the older blonde woman at the front desk is a nightmare. I have gift certificates and she told me they have no monetary value and cannot be used. WHAT?? She was very aggressive and downright rude. I asked to speak to a manager or owner and she told me 'no'. I asked for the owner to contact me and of course, I am still waiting. I asked for her name and she replied 'Betty Boop'. Her name is actually Karin - go figure... I will be contacting Julie Manthy who is the Chief HR person in corporate to bring this to the next level. My gift certificates are 1 yr old but have no magnetic strip. Because the Bloomingdale Elements is under new mgmt, Karin is telling me they have no monetary value. This location has a new owner since OCT 1st and they are not honoring gift cards from the previous owners. They never even announced a change in ownership, nor any information to their members about the gift cards not being honored. The desk clerk actually went out of her way to ask how I was paying and when I said I was going to use a gift card for the additional services she asked for the GC before I went into my massage. When I came out she said I couldn't use it because I paid less than the service. She said I had to use the 1hr on my account (GC was for the same service) and pay out of pocket for the balance. She said when I don't have anything in my account I can use. Common sense would be that I will have 1 in my acct every month with a membership! So unless I quit I cant use it I guess. Told me to call corporate and gave me a fax number too! Good luck dealing with these new owners, they obviously do not care about keeping members. BEWARE. NEW Owners took over effective Oct 1st. My gift cards (of which I have 6 more) were issued to me from my PAID membership and unused visits. I have been using them all along without any problem. Just went for a massage today, and was asked if I were using a Gift card, which I said yes and presented. AFTER my massage, the front desk manager (?) upon checkout informed me my gift card is now expired. Even though there is not any exp date on any of them, they suddenly are not valid after issued in 2019. (Suddenly without notice, they have a 5 year exp date?) When they were issued, I was told they would not expire. They charged me full boat and applied some BS amount of my now expired GC. This is a scam for sure and the new owners are not giving water anymore after the massage, no more little chocolate (I mean its a thin mint...how much could that be?) and they aren't honoring the GC. So if you have any GC from the OLD, very nice Elements, find out before you go what they are going to honor....Also they aren't honoring Groupons or some other coupons per the little sign on their checkout. I bought 10 gift cards in 2016 for discounted rate. I was new to massages and tried 3 different therapists here in 2016. One was too hard, one ok, and another perfect for what I needed, relaxation massage. Unfortunately he left in 2018. In late 2018 and just last week I tried two other therapists. They were both ok, but the message therapist I had a few days ago did not know how to give a relaxing massage. It was more focused on loosening muscles. I'll point out that I had never had a full massage before my visit to Elements. The closest I have come was therapy for my right shoulder due to a car accident many years ago. I see a chiropractor on a regular business and he and my wife had both suggested that a full massage might be beneficial. So we decided to take advantage of the first time customer special and went with 60 minute massages. I had my appointment with Jenny. Jenny was very friendly and talkative and made me feel very at ease. The room was very relaxing and the massage table was actually very comfortable as well. I did ask her to turn the heater off though because I tend to get very warm pretty easily, and she politely obliged. It was the fastest 60 minutes I've ever burned through! I could literally feel my muscles loosening up. Jenny did a fantastic job and I actually was not that sore afterwards. There was not a lot of thumb jabbing, which i was concerned about initially. My chiropractor had said that I might be sore the next day because my body would react like it was a workout, so I was expecting that. But honestly, I felt great with just slight tenderness. I will definitely be coming back and probably for a 90 minute massage this time. Hopefully Jenny will be available again as I think she was great. read more

Honestly my impression about this place is 99% about Erin, they gave me my first appointment with her and I was sold ever since. Erin is incredible, and she has a pretty good memory. She is also extremely professional. I think I deal with stress pretty well, so I don't have a lot of tightness usually, but it is so nice to be completely pampered from head-to-toe. I definitely leave on cloud nine every time. I did sign up for a membership, I think I was in a dream state after that first massage and would have said yes to anything. However, it was a good choice for me. I don't do enough to treat myself so I decided that for the last few months of nursing school I'd take care of me once a month. I booked my appointments with Erin each time; her schedule does fill up quickly but typically I would book my next appointment right when I finished with my massage each time. That worked out well for me. You do have to give them a 30-day notice to end your membership so expect to have one more appointment if you're going to cancel. I knew that from the reviews and Erin reminded me of that. The membership isn't as bad as most people make it out to seem, but then again, with Erin I had the best massages I've ever had in my life (and I've had massages all over the world). read more

Horrid customer service, does not check the voicemails, does not return phone calls, does not amend the problems they caused by canceling appointments with no notification yet they claim they do contact the client. I called in December 2021 and their voicemail says they have " shortened hours in June." The voicemail said that a year ago too and I told the staff about it twice now and they still haven't updated their voicemail. Had a deep tissue massage from Leah, and it was potentially the best I ever had. It was the only deep tissue massage I've had where I briefly thought about asking her to dial back the pressure. My back was one giant knot so it was a lot to work out but it felt SO good afterward. Great reception area and very clean rooms as well. If you want a deep tissue, you can't go wrong with Leah! From the moment I walked in the door, the staff were absolutely lovely. A 90-minute deep tissue massage with Zakilah was, hands-down, the best massage of my life! I can be a bit shy to speak up sometimes, but each time it crossed my mind that I might like a little more or less or something, as if by magic, she came through with it.
