What I mean by that is most times you ask Hair Stylist to only takeoff a little they takeoff a lot, Dawn makes you feel very comfortable and only takes off a little. The shop is clean and very today looking and located in a shopping center that has plenty of parking. They also offer an array of products for your hair. You can tell the employees all love working there because they all have a positive rapport with one another which I think helps with the quality of energy during your visit. Especially when sometimes your visits are four hours at a time. We don't currently live in Chicago, but every time we are in Chicago area we will visit the sorelle salon!

I recently moved into town, and was looking forward to being a few blocks away from this salon so I could make it my "regular" spot, but looks like that won't be the case. My wife and I have been going to this location for a decade, and we will never be returning barring ownership selling. We purchased e-gift cards in December and when we tried to use them, they were suddenly unable to find them on the account and that they don't sell the gift cards it's a third party named Hownd. Since these gift cards were never given to us, we did a chargeback. Conveniently, once the chargeback went through, they called us saying that they can see the balance on our account now. When we went into the location to discuss, the "manager" threatened to ban us and charge us for the dispute fee. I then called the next day to cancel my account and was told the person who we talked to was just a "front desk" employee and that despite their website saying membership is month to month, they need 30 days notice on cancelling. When I refused to pay that, they "terminated my account". I would not recommend this location, purely on the behavior of management. The massage therapists such as Erin and Kevin are amazing people and great at their jobs.

The appointment took much longer than expected, there was confusion about the matte finish I requested, and I also noticed that the tools did not appear to be sanitized between clients. After paying and even leaving a tip, I was called back because I had accidentally been charged twice. While waiting for the duplicate charge to be refunded, I finally got a close look at my nails and realized how bad they were. The shape was uneven, polish was on my skin and cuticles, there were bumps throughout the finish, and the overall manicure looked rushed and unprofessional. The photo speaks for itself. When I pointed out the issues, I was repeatedly told they could file them or redo them. The problem was not the filing. The entire manicure was poorly done. I was already late returning from my lunch break and could not stay longer or come back another day. Since I would have to pay another salon to fix the work, I requested a refund. The refund was refused. I even offered to accept a partial refund because I understood time had been spent on the service, but that was refused as well. During the discussion, the manager/owner put her hand on my arm while trying to get me to sit back down. I don't know what her intentions were, but I was uncomfortable being touched after I had already said I needed to leave. What upset me most was being told that $35 was "not a big deal." Whether $35 is a lot or a little is not for someone else to decide. It is money I worked for, and I paid expecting professional results. I understand that mistakes happen. What disappointed me was the poor quality of the work, the refusal to provide even a partial refund, and the dismissive way my concerns were handled. I left with nails I disliked, no refund, and the added expense of paying someone else to fix them. I will not be returning.

One of the employees greeted me and asked what I needed/wanted to get done. I showed him my nails, with a faint green tint, and said I needed to have this fixed as much as they could. I'm not allowed to wear nail polish at work, so I just requested a clear polish that I could easily take off. We didn't say much, but he shaped up my nails nicely, and someone else took over when she was done with her previous customer. They both cleaned my nails gently and they look great. I've had many experiences at other establishments where they are rough with my cuticles, got acetone in my splits by my fingers (which burns really bad), and a very rushed services which make me really anxious. I was very grateful they were gentle with the service. I was really looking for a basic cleanup with some acetone, but they did a really nice manicure with a soft hand massage as well. This was about 25 minutes and was a nice little break in my day. $15 dollars with a $5 tip for people who were easily able to clean my nails and not judge was a nice experience. One thing I will note is that before I had my nails painted, they asked if I wanted to pay. I said yes since it's just a clear coat and I had no designs or anything, but I'm sure they would let you pay after if you said no. Not sure, but something to consider. Pros: Quick service, lots of color options from what I looked at, fair price for what I received, gentle work. Cons: Very quiet atmosphere and little talking (which I enjoy but I can understand why someone would be unnerved).
