I've never had a massage before and boy I didn't know what I was missing. I have had a sore neck for over a week and decided to get a massage. I contacted Jen and she was able to squeeze me in the same day. When I arrived she took the time to get to know about my issue. The massage focused on my neck, shoulders and lower back. Ive had 3 massages in my life and this one by far was the best. I play sports and run a lot so my legs are constantly sore and feeling strained. After the massage my legs and whole body felt much more relaxed and able to perform in my next physical activity. Very knowledgeable in the different muscles and techniques to help them feel better. First and foremost- Thank you so much to Jen! I've had lower back pain most of my life with pain levels from a slight dull pain to painful shooting pain in my nerves. I have an L4 vertebrae that was broken in my early childhood that requires special care. I also must wear a duty belt for my career in law enforcement so you know my back takes a beating. Recently- I have been in great pain as my lower back, hip, and sciatica have been extremely out of whack and flaring up. I have been seeing a chiropractor weekly for over a month now and he recommended massage to help with the issues I have been experiencing. I yelped massage in the Schaumburg area and decided to give Jen a try based on testimonials and not wanting to jump through the massage envy, elements massage, business type hoops. I used to be a member of massage envy but hated being tied to the company. Jen was able to fit me in at the last minute with excellent communication back and forth between us. The room was clean and exactly what you would expect to help calm and relax yourself. Jen is a professional who is very knowledgeable of the human body and muscles and nerves that need to be massaged for what issues you have. I was hesitant at first but I am very happy that I booked her. I will definitely be back in the next few days to weeks. Plus she has great respect for, and supports our military and law enforcement. My friend actually surprised me with an 80 minute full body massage by Jen (I know, ridiculously thoughtful friend, right)? I cannot begin to recommend Jen highly enough. As a physical therapist myself, I must tell you this woman knows anatomy. Jen was great! She has a private room in her house that is perfect, not once did I ever feel like I was in someone else's house opposed to a brick and mortar during my massage. When I arrived Jen gave me a questionnaire to fill out and we discussed where my pain was. Jen was able to relieve about 95% of pain in my lower back, which was amazing the other 5% was relieved with stretches she recommended. She also gave me tips on how to help prevent the pain from happening in the future. I never write Yelp reviews, but I felt inclined to share my wonderful experience with Jen Taylor. The massage given was not for me, but rather my dear friend whom I was taking out and surprising with a massage. After reading prior reviews on Jen and comparing them to chain or corporate massage businesses, I decided it would be best to go through Jen for a more personalized experience as she represents her own business. The communication with Jen was extremely fast and thorough as soon as I sent her a message on Yelp inquiring about what she offers. After explaining what I wanted, an appt was setup within a few minutes. We exchanged numbers which made communication even easier as we were able to text/call. The day before the massage Jen sent me a reminder text. The day of the massage we pulled into her driveway and I had my friend blindfolded as it was a complete surprise for her. I went to Jen's door and she let me in her house to show the massage room so that I would know how to lead my friend in while still blindfolded. The room was wonderful and had a great ambience. Dim lighting, candles, soothing music, heated, smelled heavenly, had the whole works. Just immediately calming as soon as you step in. As I did not receive the massage, I took my friends word for it when I picked her up. She literally had a different voice (more relaxed than I have ever heard her) and she was nearly emotional as it was nothing she ever experienced and just felt a total body relaxation. I am extremely glad I went to Jen as opposed to Massage Envy, Elements massage etc as it was a seamless, personalized, and overall fantastic experience for both of us. Can't thank Jen enough. I originally was scheduled for a massage with Jen and then last minute I decided to change it to a Reiki session. She was so accommodating and she responded immediately every time I reached out to her. She spent a lot of time with me asking about my health, current problems I'm facing, etc. She is very nice and she really took the time to genuinely listen and she provided some positive feedback as well - she provided support when I had least expected it! After the Reiki session, I felt SO good and relaxed - I really felt like jello! I had been going through a lot lately and somehow she managed to make everything just "go away." My session was last Saturday and ever since then I've felt, and continue to feel, different - in a good way - I feel great, motivated, I have a positive outlook and feel resilient, I feel healed in many ways.
