My wife just had a massage here from Mark, this evening and said it was, hands down, the best massage she has ever had. For context, she has been having massages in San Diego, Santa Barbara and elsewhere most of her life. Places like the four seasons, the knot shop etc... that are extremely highly regarded for the expertise of the therapists. Mark was better. Her muscles are like literal rocks and it isn't always easy to find massage therapists who can give, what amounts to, a sports massage. Essentially. She noted and shared with me that he seemed very knowledgeable on the way that the body and the muscles work and it wasn't just a relaxing rub down, although it was after a bit. He was inspecting and looking and was modifying as he was going through the massage. He honed in on a particular place that extremely tense and challenging and spent at least 30 minutes on that. She was very grateful that he was able to understand the mechanics and understand her specific mechanics so quickly. She also said that the environment of the location itself was very relaxing, upscale, and very inviting. It made her feel very calm just waiting to start. The front desk staff was very professional and nice. She was very at ease. We are so happy to find our new massage home. We will definitely be back. read more

I learned about Elements Massage at the Yelp Wasabi event in the summer of 2016. Elements is located next door, was new, and donated a gift card to give away at the event. Fast forward to the Fall of 2017. I've had my share of running injuries and decided I needed to get back on the bandwagon of monthly sports massages. I went on the Elements website to book a massage and liked how I could read about each therapist to decide who was a good fit. Most of the therapists list deep tissue or sports massage as one of their specializations. Best of all, you can usually book an appointment a day or two out. No athlete wants to miss a week of training waiting on a massage. I joined the wellness program, which means I get a 60 minute massage every month for $59 and can purchase additional massages at this price. This is an excellent value and money well spent each month. So far, I've had two therapists, Andrew and Gil, and both of them were professional, listened to my concerns, and customized the massage to my needs and "niggles" from running and working out. The entire business, from the receptionist to the waiting area to the actual massage room, has been comfortable and welcoming. Even if you don't work out regularly, massage has many benefits and is a great way to treat yourself while doing something positive for your body. Recently, a request to provide feedback to Elements Massage reminded me I had not updated my prior Yelp rating. The only reason I'm offering a 2 instead of a 1 is the actual massage. Here's why I've had to lower my evaluation: Booking experience = 1 You can't book online if you want to use SpaFinder or Groupon certificate; instead, you have to prepay their full price. Booking my appointment required four phone calls. In the process, the staff member sent an email with the wrong date and time. The staff member also sent an email with another customer's name. While gracious and apologetic, this was just a few too many errors. When you have to repeatedly call to fix a booking, it diminishes the experience. Massage=4 Actual massage experiences at Elements tend to range from good (3) to excellent (5). My most recent was a 4. Problem resolution=0 I periodically purchase (or am gifted) certificates for a massage or spa experience. In the past, Elements has offered great prices through Groupon where language specifically precludes purchasing more that one certificate unless the second is used as a gift for someone else. Knowing this, I was surprised when the verbiage was missing on an offer page--and trust me, I looked for the exclusion. I was pretty excited to purchase two massages at a great price. The actual certificates, however, did have the exclusionary language. While disappointed, my mom also likes a good massage, so the second certificate would not have gone unused. The day before my massage, I went to the site, selected and printed one certificate, and put it into my bag so I wouldn't forget to have it in hand. If you use Groupon, you know that once you access and print your certificate, you're accepting this is considered "spent." Imagine my surprise, when checking out from my massage, to learn Elements accessed my purchase in advance of my visit and chose/applied the second certificate to my appointment. Essentially, I'd now paid twice for the same massage--at more than the cost of their regular fee. Worse, the manager told me to go to Groupon to try to fix the problem myself. For me, this was a customer service fail. Fortunately, we have plenty of options in the community for good massages. I did receive a good massage, but 1) not worth twice the price or 2) the hassle of having to spend extra time with either booking or 3) resolving problems that Elements created. I left the site with the impact of the actual massage significantly diminished. I don't plan to return. read more

We just moved to the area and I've been trying to find a good massage place. Got a gift card to this place, so decided to try it out. When you walk into the Elements Massage on Oakland Market Road in Mount Pleasant, you are greeted with two ladies. The one on the left was wonderful and helpful, the one on your right, was just grumpy and rude and made rude remarks. But then, you move on to the massage room. The massage was an absolute joke. There was no real "massaging" going on. More like petting my skin and playing with my toes. There was absolutely no benefit in what she was doing. It was also the most repetitive massage I've ever received in my life. Same movement over and over again. Massage was also not equal between sides. What was done on one side, was not repeated on the other side. The towels used on my body during the massage were BURNING hot. I can still feel the burn on my skin. Overall this experience was absolutely disappointing. Looking up the prices online now and this place is definitely not worth it. read more

I had a Christmas gift of a one hour massage for Elements which I used for a deep tissue massage. The masseuse was great. She listened to my needs and took it on board. Then she worked her magic on my back. One hour of relaxation and bliss combined together. What more could you ask for. I love the fact that you can almost always get an appointment either on the same day or following day. I also love the fact that it's so near my house. Located in the Walmart & Starbucks area with easy parking. The ambiance and decor are relaxing and inviting. The staff are eager to please and a pleasure to deal with. I also love that their opening hours are extended every day except Sunday's until 9pm. Sunday's I think are 7pm. Very customer friendly. Tina at the front desk was friendly and professional. I like that body areas to be treated were clear and under written and verbal consent. The treatment room was clean and Tina took the time to explain the heat of the bed, the lighting and the volume of the music would be addressed to my specifications. I had a nagging shoulder and neck issue that was skillfully addressed by my therapist Lucy. She hit the nail on the head with what I needed - great hands!! I have been getting massages for probably 15 years and this was the most unprofessional, fake, rude, and uncouth massage business I have ever been into. First of all they try to act like they are some professional place and it's just 1000% fake! I rescheduled a massage after they knew I wanted deep tissue and instead of simply picking up the phone to tell me this woman did not do "deep tissue" they sent a text about it? Who on earth employs 2 women answering phones, to not call a client back to make sure they were aware of that? What kind of awful training do they give? No one relies on text messages from any business in 2022! I think they do this on purpose to ruin the schedule and to try to get the money out of you without providing the full massage! Yes phones works in 2022, all you had to do was inform the client VIA CALLING THEM and informing me that this person did not do deep tissue. So I get there and Claudia the massage therapist tells me she does deep pressure, but not deep tissue, making me think that she would still do deep tissue. Then she says well we can reschedule. Then the manager said no you cant? How fake and unprofessional can these people get? This was a gift from my mother and it's very obvious they don't like non members coming in. They actually had the audacity to ask for a tip after they did not give me the correct massage! WOW! Unbelievable with these people! I have never been more let down by a massage company than elements massage! Tammy the manager is extremely rude! She could care less about the clients! A total disrespectful lady! They also play around for 15 minutes before the actual massage start! They literally are stealing money from clients when this occurs! She offered me nothing to make it right, so all I can is warn every person to not waste your money or time. The customer service and ambiance is exceptional; you're greeted as soon as you walk through the door. The first time I went to Elements, I was concerned about it's policy on procedures to prevent the spread of the Covid virus. Since the employees who actually did the massages were required to wear a mask, I decided it was probably safe. I went for a massage yesterday, and found out the policy has changed. The employees are no longer required to wear a mask. Elements management also cannot ask the employees is they have been vaccinated. It turns out my masseuse had not been vaccinated (yes, I asked her), nor was she wearing a mask. I was told they are following guidelines set by the community. This might be fine for some people, but as a 75 year old woman, I did not consider this a safe environment. read more

I have extremely disappointed and frustrated with this company after calling 4 months ago to cancel my monthly membership and still being charged $99 a month for something I am unable to use due to haivng a 6 month old plus covid-19. The lady I spoke with to cancel did not mention having to sign a form to cancel. She said she would have it canceled and as I was reviewing my credit card statements I see that I am still being charged. The lady I spoke with to help get my money reimbused has not been helpful at all. I would not reccomend this company to anyone and they just lost a customer. I would have continued going here for massages and wanted to continue going here just not on a monthly basis. read more

This was definitely a good massage but my massage therapist had a cold so she was coughing on me the whole time. Plus she was 20 minutes late and only did 10 minutes extra so I got cut 10 minutes. This was a Groupon introduction but I wasn't disappointed. In fact, this place exceeded my expectations. The staff is very friendly, responsive to phone calls, appt scheduling and communication. The salon itself is very clean, nicely appointed and has very extensive hours which is appreciated for someone who works full-time, including late evenings. My masseuse, Taya (sp?) was so good I think this is going to be more than a Groupon experience. She asked the right questions before we started and then has excellent skills and great hands (a must for a masseuse!). I can't say enough bad things about this place. On June 6th I came in for the first of four massages that I had paid for, and told them I wanted to cancel my contract. They acknowledged the request and even put it my folder because the guy working on me asked why I was ending the messuages. I told him that it was hard for me to find time to come in and that it wasn't something I needed to do right now. On July 1st I noticed that my bank account had been charged another $79 and when I called to inquire about the charge they told me I had to sign a release form to stop the contract. I told them that I was not presented with any form to sign when I told them to stop my contract. They told me the manager was out and they would contact me the next day and of coarse I never heard from anyone. I went into the business today July 5th and was told that they weren't giving my money back and that I was lucky that they weren't taking another $79 out next month. As far as the messuage itself they were not very effective in relieving the soreness in my neck and lower back which is why I went there to start with and have no desire to go back. If you choose to go, you better read every word and understand that they have no intention to let you know ahead of time about anything that will prevent them from getting every penny they can from you. This is a business that Mt. Pleasant can live without. read more

Thought I'd give this a try and my appointment was at 8:00 p.m. Normally 8:00 p.m. does not find me out HOWEVER after a fantastic massage I slept like a baby. Ok so I was planning on doing their monthly massage membership based on all the great reviews BUT I really had a less than stellar experience. My massage was one of the top 3 worst massages I've had. I usually get massages once or twice a month (here or in ATL) so I know what I like and communicate that to the masseuse. The women at the check in desk were extremely defensive after me giving a nice but honest explanation of my experience. That said I will not be returning or recommending them at all. If you're considering a massage here I'd recommend to keep looking - it was not a good use of my time or money spent. The rudeness, defensiveness, and them being totally un-empathetic to my experience was disappointing.
