I want to be clear: the massage therapists here are very skilled and the massages themselves are excellent. However, the man who appears to be the owner or manager (a tall gentleman with glasses who is always at the front desk and answers the phone) has treated me disrespectfully on multiple visits. This is now my third negative interaction with him -- he has been consistently rude and dismissive, and during my most recent visit he spoke to me in an inappropriate and embarrassing way in front of other customers. Customer-facing staff -- especially someone in a leadership role -- should not behave this way. I'm sharing this because it needs to be addressed. No customer should feel disrespected when coming in for a service. The therapists are excellent, but the front desk experience needs serious improvement. read more

Exactly what I needed today. Walk in quietly and whisper, the main entrance is right in the main room. Very little decoration, the focus is definitely the customer not decor, but all the more reason to close your eyes and zone out into relax mode. Big comfy chairs against the wall for foot massages, massage chairs in the middle for body massages. A couple tables in a back room. I was grateful they took me as a walk in immediately. The phone was constantly ringing, and multiple people were turned away. I chose 30 minutes for my feet, 30 in the chair. I had the same wonderful masseuse for both. I was seated in a relaxing chair, a warm bucket of water for my feet, covered me with a towel, and he started at my head, then neck and shoulders. Foot and leg massage came next. Pressure was excellent and he took care making sure I was constantly covered despite my being fully dressed. When it was through, he moved me to the massage chair and found so many knots and released the tension in my lower back, shoulders, neck, occipital lobes, arms, wrists, and hands. Reasonably priced. I love that you can get same day appointments and the team does a great job of accommodating your schedule. I went in for a 90 minute massage and I appreciate that they took the full 90 minutes. This is a really great option of you're looking for someone to really get in there and work those muscles. If you are looking for a massage to get some knots out/help with back pain and don't need a fancy spa experience, this is a great deal. it is a nuts and bolts place, you get what you pay for. when you walk in, there's a line of chair massages happening but in back there are private rooms for the full body massages. the private rooms are essentially just empty rooms with a massage bed in it. again, it's NOT a luxury experience so if that's what you're looking for, this is not for you but i don't mind keeping things basic. i definitely would come back as my masseuse was great. i do recommend calling ahead that way you can request a male or female masseuse. mine was very nice and good at what she did. she made me feel comfortable the whole time. read more

I always like to go and support local, small businesses in my area. I went in to get a foot massage at Orchid. My massager did NOT do a good job. She was repeating foot massage in the same motion, over and over, like shes never done this before. All the sudden, the manager/owner was yelling at several massager out of the blue, which scared me and a few other customers in the room. We don't know what he said in foreign language but I do know the tone was not a happy one. In the past, I'm use to having a curtain or being in a room for a semi privacy. There're like 6 people in the same room getting massages and so close to one another. I was not satisfied with the result and the atmosphere. Went on a whim to have a foot massage as walk ins are "welcomed" and I was traveling post my vacation to the beach. Lead dude is impatient, difficult to understand , and generally just unwelcoming and dick- ish . Placed in a room with 2 others, making 3 total in extremely close quarters. My massage guy was short and strong and applying way too much pressure on my feet. Seems indignant when requesting lighter pressure. I'm female and not the Incredible Hulk after all. I didn't feel comfortable being blind folded by the towel he put across my face. I removed it to find the two men snickering and laughing in their native tongue so unable to have a clue what they were saying. Unprofessional and awkward as you are laid out and unable to move easily. My masseuse sneezed twice over my feet. Gross. Later, my feet showed bruising on the top and sides. Lead guy who seems to run the show continued his rude demeanor and loudly proclaimed I needed to tip post paying cash for the timed service. What a loser experience. Go else where ladies. Hands down the best place for foot relief I've ever visited in my life, including other massage parlors, podiatrists, and chiropractors. I've been following them since they had their old location in the Long Point shopping center. I come here almost every time I'm in Charleston. I used to suffer from serious plantar fasciitis and this was the only place I found relief. Now, I just like to come back. Prices are very reasonable. You get to choose whether you want a 20, 30, or 40 min foot massage. You start off by sitting down in comfortable cushioned chairs where your feet soak in a warm bath. While that is happening, you receive a complimentary neck, shoulder, and arm massage. Next, you receive your foot massage for the designated amount of time. I've had the services of mostly all employees. All do a great job. Any foot or ankle pain is almost completely relieved after leaving here, even if just for 20 minutes. I literally dream of this place when I'm not nearby. As others have written, this is not the place for a romantic or spa-like experience. I do not come here for back massages, as they are not my personal style here (limited oil, hard pressure, no music or aromas or otherwise standard spa experience), but have requested services when having a specific issue (e.g., last month I had a horrible crick in my neck so much so that I couldn't turn it to the side, so I requested a neck massage... they fixed that issue quick!) You can walk-in, which is super nice, but I would suggest calling ahead so that they can put your name on a list. Otherwise, you might have to wait or come back later. Since they are located in the Mt Pleasant Towne Centre outdoor shopping mall, coming back later in the day usually isn't too much of a problem, if needed. This is the third time we have been treated this way. This will be the last time my husband or I go. We very much like Mae or Eva and this has happened several times that the owner will answer the phone and say that the two massage therapist we would like to use are no longer there. They try to give you someone new. You can not request the person you know is good. We have had Lisa twice and she can not be a trained therapist. She is very rough and hurts the one time I had her and then today for my husband. He was told the two we prefer were no longer there but they both were there when he arrived. Then he told me that he had to get back to somebody in one of the back rooms and could not help me. So, I have been coming to this place for a few years mostly because the price is right and the massages are pretty good. They are not professionally trained and mostly do not speak English, so often hard to communicate, however I continued to come for the reasonable price. Over the past year I have had frustrating times, disappointing experiences over and over, each time thinking it would be my last. Today was the final straw. This place has told me 3 separate times that I would see a particular "therapist" and each time they slipped someone else in. I even spoke with the person I requested and she assured me she would be the one to treat me...of course they wanted to offer someone else when I arrived. Even with the fair price, this unprofessional way of operating is not tolerable.
