I was charged $130 for a missed appointment that resulted from a genuine emergency during which I had no access to a phone. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I called a few hours later to explain the circumstances, the response was dismissive.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The justification offered -- that the charge was necessary to compensate the massage therapist for their time -- doesn't hold up mathematically: NOW Massage's Mt. Pleasant employees earn an average of $41-$45 per hour depending on experience, while the owners reportedly grossed between $130,000 and $200,000 last year. Am I compensating an employee or pool boy? lol In good faith, I proposed a reasonable compromise: a refund of half the charge. Instead, I was offered 50% off a future service, which sidesteps the actual issue -- that I should not have been charged the full $130 in the first place. Had the situation been handled with any consideration for the circumstances, a $65 charge would have more than covered the therapist's hourly rate and reflected basic fairness. My contract being charged $180 and not having used the services in over 90 days. Seems crazy to me.! read more

Always a great experience. I've used different massage therapists here and they're all incredible! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The receptionists are kind and helpful.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The massage space is an open format with soft walls, but they are private and the sound experience is relaxing because the space feels like the inside of a seashell. I just cancelled my membership. I was a member of the now for over a year and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the experience over time became more transactional and less consistent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I also had a recent issue and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the way Karla and her team handled it left me feeling very uncomfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] At the end of the day, I think the concept is there but the facility is poorly managed. read more

I had a great massage with Andrea this morning. I selected the 80 minute with scalp massage and it was so relaxing I fell asleep. The venue is calming and absolutely beautiful. There are "rooms" separated by heavy drapes and soft overhead lights. It's so tranquil and relaxing. This was a really nice, relaxing massage and I thoroughly enjoyed it. read more

Check this place out! I discovered the Now on Instagram and was intrigued when I learned about the Mt. Pleasant location. I booked two deep tissue massages for my dad and I to celebrate his birthday. Location was clean and aesthetic, staff was more than kind, and prices were reasonable! My massage was great and I was pleased to hear about their membership option - $75 a month for a massage with a free add on - chosen by corporate. First, the message rooms are separated by curtains, not walls. Also, feels like they just want to churn and burn, doesn't feel personal. I bought a gift card promotion and they split them up up into multiple gift cards of smaller denominations and told me I had to use them all separately after the fact. Couldn't use them all at once so some went unused since I cancelled my membership after a month or so. Pretty misleading and sketchy. Icing on the cake and why I left this review is that almost a year after canceling my membership they started charging me again. I first heard about the NOW Massage studio via the CHS Today email newsletter promoting the opening of this place. I try to get massages monthly and my other place sometimes requires a month out in advance for booking so decided to check this place out and really liked how easy it was to schedule online and at a date that was soon enough for me! Online you can put your preferences for a female or male massage therapist when booking your appointment so that is nice to fit one's comfort level. They also ask about any surgeries or areas that need extra focus on to cater to your experience. A day prior to my appointment I got a phone call from Tina to confirm my appointment which was a nice reminder. As soon as I walked into the NOW Massage studio, I'm greeted by one of the most sincere and welcoming souls I've ever met: Alexis. Alexis asked me about my day, if this was a first experience, offered some water, checked-in on me overall so that felt very comforting. Just based on the incredibly kind and professional staff plus the massage by Yvonne I already knew a membership was a must. The membership info is explained online but what I loved the most was how if you're too busy that month, the massages can rollover, friends + family can be considered as a user for that month if you can't make it, and you can cancel anytime too. The flexibility and availability make the membership very appealing. Alexis also shared how the studio has an app so that can be helpful with requesting certain therapists, making appointments, and checking to see if you used up a massage that month or not. The massage area is very tranquil and has a nice beachy scent with a constant sound of waves crashing which makes you think you're at a resort. Online I saw there was a promotion for first timers so with my massage I got an add-on for a scalp massage with coconut oil. The scalp massage add-on got me so relaxed I was trying not to fall asleep!! Haha I like the coconut oil as well because it softens my hair and looks healthy after a few washes. Good massages but far from the best massages that I've had in my life. It really depends on which massage therapist that you have.

I must begin by apologizing. I can not believe I have not reviewed The Now yet. We have probably tried most if not all massage places in Mt.P. Many are quite good. Some are less expensive. None are as good. The Now may be a few dollars more than other places but worth every penny. They listen to you, concentrate on the areas you say but still complete the whole massage experience. Ask for Anthony or Dean although we have had several other therapists (both male and female) who were top notch. This is a way we treat ourselves when we have a few dollars left over after paying the bills. You should work it into your budget if you can. You deserve it !! read more

My masseuse was Miss Carrie- I had her for an 80min prenatal massage and my gawd, I am beyond relaxed. She was extremely caring and loving with me and my baby as I'm 29weeks. Cute ambiance and friendly staff. Vibes were great and prices were fair. The area around the spa was great for a quick bite and shopping.

I was asked to reschedule the morning of my appointment, which I didn't mind but I was placed with a different therapist than I had booked. I arrived and checked-in 10 mins early and then didn't get to the back room until 5 mins after, by the time I was on the table and massage began it was 10 mins after the hour. I was told that the table heater was off because I'm pregnant but 10 mins into my massage I asked my therapist to check because I was feeling warm- it turns out it was on. The massage overall felt nice but it felt rushed. The massage ended at 50 after so instead of having a 50 min massage it ended up being a 40 min massage. Kind of disappointing. read more
