Please disregard my previous review of Salon Elemis. I was having a horrible day with personal Family matters & I took it out on the wrong people. Salon Elemis has a wonderful staff that offers so many services (some services I never heard of (but All very unique!). The Stylist who cut & colored my hair was Kim & she is amazing Stylist, very creative & she really sees you before cutting it! My apologies to not only to Kim, but to Carine & the rest of the staff for my "Unkind" review, they DID NOT DESERVE that from me. I really dread ever leaving less than five stars for a business but I felt to be fair to consumers I had to do that. We're new to the area so it was time to look for a local salon. When I called, I explained I had a young daughter that needed a bang trim and had a little event so she wanted some braids. I asked for somebody who had a fun personality and that could do braids. When we got there, our stylist came out to meet us, and when I explained the same exact thing, I seemed to have tripped the woman up on the braid part. I explained that it was not that I wanted any kind of an "up do" just some braids pulled back in her hair because she was going to be dancing and again she was young, so just something fun and a little special. There was this look of confusion on her face and I thought well maybe they didn't tell her or maybe she's not comfortable doing a braid and at that point I became very uncomfortable but the dance was in an hour and a half so I had no choice but to just go with it. She hugged her stylist and thanked her and then we got in the car and we both agreed that would be our last time there. I honestly don't blame the stylist on this one, but rather whoever made my appointment because there's no reason we should've been paired with this woman when she clearly was the total opposite of what I had asked for. I'm not saying by any means she's a bad stylist, but creativity did not come into play for this appointment when really it was the whole reason for our visit. read more

(My back up girl is great too) Keri blends my long grey with highlights and lowlights so it always looks like " the grey is starting to come in"! The girl Sarah who just started working there is the worst. She has an Instagram page that displays all her services and the work she has done. I make an appointment which of course you have to submit a deposit and every time it would come time for our appointment she would cancel and it would always be last minute. There was even one time I drove all the way to NJ from Brooklyn, NY and she canceled as I got there. She never answered my messages or returned my calls and I have yet to get my money back. ABSOLUTELY WILL NOT BE RETURNING! Kerri did my hair and did not give what was asked at all. I was asked to pay 200$ knowing that it was not what i had asked for. I reached out to the owner Carine and instead of her saying i'm sorry that happened and to come in and get it fixed she said there was already stuff wrong with my hair. Asked why i was contacting her directly. IT IS YOUR OWN BUSINESS. my feelings about my hair were extremely invalidated as Kerri told me "you make this choice not me". As a boss you should not allow your employees to talk to clients like that with no repercussions. Carine the owner just left a comment and was straight up lying. It is crazy to tell someone they're lying when you are blatantly lying. Nobody has ever done this before. I do not know why you're talking about beware of Bella Kafka. I have never had bad service before going to your salon. so clients beware that you will be gaslit and not cared about. your feelings will be invalidated and you will be told you're lying when you're not. Giving 2 stars for the effort, but my hair was completely messed up here. Normally get highlights, asked Pasquale if I could somehow go lighter - he showed me some colors and made his recommendations on how to get there. I trusted him and went with it. My roots ended up red, and 3 hours were spent back and forth to the sink trying to tone it down. Blow dry was rushed and therefore rough on my hair since my visit had run into other clients' appointments. I left with very dry hair/scalp and that red color that I had no desire for (especially mostly at the top of my head?) Had to go to a higher end salon to get it fixed a week later, and it will take time to fully reverse what was done at Elemis. Pasquale offered for me to come back to get it fixed as I clearly wasn't happy, but I really could not trust him after that. I won't be back. read more

I received a gift certificate for this salon. I decided to try it. I was blown away and amazed not only by the salon but by Carine!!! I was pampered from the minute I walked it! She was really concerned about how I felt and making sure I got exactly what I wanted. This is the best my hair has looked in years!!! My hair looked damaged, discolored, and well, not great... I am very disappointed, I just got the worst hair cut. Actually two stylus try to correct it, but so uneven and looks terrible. They cut it then blew dried it, then cut it again dry. A disaster! By far the best salon around. It's so hard to find a salon who can "consistently" produce beautiful blonde hair (especially without all the damage). Carine is truly a talented artist with color and cuts. I've been her client for a few years now and every time I leave the salon I'm more than satisfied & I receive so many compliments, even from strangers. This establishments feels like a home, when you walk in people greet you and on special occasions there are even snacks set out for customers to eat while waiting for their appointment. Went on a Groupon deal for haircut and full highlights. My cut was fine, but the highlights are less than satisfying. In my experiences with getting highlights, I've never been told that toner is an additional fee, so the 1st visit, I opted out. Went back a 2nd time for toner the next day and the overall color was a bit better, but got home and noticed a bright yellow streak of hair against my scalp still. Was in NJ over the summer for a wedding with my girlfriend, and she had to look for a last minute hair appointment. Elemis Salon was kind enough to accommodate her, despite not having an appointment, and being very busy on a Saturday afternoon. I commend them for their customer service, and for helping us. I don't go to women's salon, as you can tell I am a man, but I have to say the place was very nice, and the staff was super fun and friendly. My wallet felt a little lighter afterwards, but my girlfriend was very happy with her results and that is what matters. She said she would return here if we were ever in town again. read more
