I had never been to Strandz but trusted the reviews. Well Liz had me come in a few days earlier, ahead of my appt to look at my hair. It seemed OK, we moved ahead. Well, I sat in her chair for an hour. Liz was very busy behind me. I had no idea what she did till she held up a mirror. My hair was gathered at the nape of my neck, off my face. Alison is not just a very gifted and skilled stylist, she is patient and kind (and though she is a perfectionist, she works very efficiently). Lana also wanted a tip, which took me aback as she is the owner. That was a surprise. However, she did make everything right, eventually. I had to go back twice to fix the roots and the stripes, and was not charged either time. I do appreciate that. I had to cover the stripes with color spray until she could get me back in. They were also too orangey, because they didn't process long enough. They were supposed to be pale blonde. All in all, a mixed experience. Everyone that i told about the tip was also shocked. I guess that things are different here? I always tip, except when it's the owner. The price was fair for the area, so also a plus.

I pull out my phone and find a message they called me to come in earlier (I obviously missed the call) The message was it was someone's birthday and they needed to close so they could all get ready.
