We came for an event and didn't find it all that comfortable to sit and enjoy. The chairs were zip tied together making it a tight close fit for many. It appears to be very spacious in seating spacing so why the chairs attached to each other without a thought process to those who would be cramped. Not having the technical aspect of the event worked out prior to confirm the overall experience on points earned per event lacked. Standing is your best option. read more

My 6 year old has been so interested in gymnastics so I was so happy to find a place local to EG. we signed up on line for the trail with was a little confusing at first because it was asking for auto payments but that's only if you signed up. For our trail class my daughter was given a name tag and where to line up. There was no introduction to her instructor she just lined up and jumped right in. I really wish I was able to get a run down of what to expect but nevertheless my daughter still enjoyed the trail even tho it felt she was just thrown in. My kids have been going to Elevate for a little over a year now and I've seen a big change in their confidence and strength. Just a year ago, they weren't able to cartwheel or pull-up. Now, they're learning how to do round off back handsprings and bar kips. The coaches really are amazing. They will tell you that they view their teams as family and I truly feel like they care about these kids like family. The coaches put safety first and teach the kids to be supportive of one another. My kids can spend hours at practice without complaint because of Elevate's positive environment. I've been taking my daughters to Elevate for over 5 years and have to say it's probably one of the best gymnastics locations around. As with most businesses, things could always be better, or you could find fault in how they operate, but overall, the owner and coaches do a great job with the kids. They try to make it fun and engaging when the kids are younger, building up to more discipline and stricter practice routines as they progress. It allows the kids to grow into the sport, and my daughter has really improved year over year. For younger or beginner level classes, they are larger and tend to thin out as kids progress or move into other things. I was not a big fan of the larger classes, but I see how the program is designed and appreciate the way it develops the kids. My daughter is now on a competitive team, and yes, it's a pain to do parent points (volunteering), but that is laid out when you sign up for the competitive program. As with other competitive sports, it costs money to travel to competitions, but that's to be expected. Sports overall = $$$, if you don't like it then don't put your kids into a sport. I wish there were more gyms to choose from in this area. They rarely pickup the phone, it's next to impossible to get a hold of them via phone. The waitlists are long (took my girl over 6 months to get into a girls basic 1 class). There's no communication with parents before or during about expectations or progression. Apparently, evaluations are based on coaches' recommendations or by parents' requests only, so I guess it's possible for your child to stay in the same level forever and never move up. Then, when your child does move up, your child is given a passing certificate but no one tells you you need to go sign them up for the next class so that they can be waitlisted for the next level; which again, can take months for them to get into. And it's true, no one greets you and the coaches does not have time to talk to you, so if you have concerns or questions, you will need to make extra initiative to be heard. Granted my kids are young and don't know any better. They enjoy themselves and to them, it's just play (expensive play on my part). read more

Found out that parents are not getting charged the same fees despite the fact that the gymnasts are in the same level. Parent points are forced and all the positions fill up fast. It's been 2 months and I have yet to be introduced to the coach who teaches my daughters class. They also charge you for days and weeks they are closed due to holidays. Really wish I could give this place a higher rating because my son likes his class. BUT if you are signing up as a new customer then they do not offer any make up classes. I have never paid for any children's activity or sport or music lessons that have NO make up classes. In my opinion, the lack of make up classes really takes away from the value. It's just ok. We only stay because our daughter likes coming. It's true that they barely answer their phones, and it takes a while for someone to get back to you when you leave a message. There are no makeup days if your child is sick and misses a class. There was a time where I witnessed they took benches away from people sitting on them, even families with small children forcing them to sit on the floor so that their staff can have them for a meeting. Those benches are there for guest purposes and taking them away looks very bad when they are already in use. Maybe invest in some chairs for your staff or plan your meeting after hours. Another issue is that it seems they have too many children (toddler/4yr old class) per coach/instructor which causes them to not pay attention to your child. It's just ok here. I like that they try to be as professional and as friendly as possible. I have two children here, one 4 year old who loves her classes with Mrs. Suzie and Mrs. Sasha. and a 2 year old boy, who happens to have Down Syndrome. He has made such a big progress with his physical abilities and following instructions from Mrs. Sandy. She always treats him with respect, dignity and lots of kindness. When you have a child with disability, you cry a lot, sometimes because of how unfair people are, and sometimes because of how kind they are. I have seen lots of kindness in this place. Management will take your money but not interested in resolving conflict and basically tell you that your child is not welcome because they don't want to deal with a parent that is standing up for their child that has special needs. I wanted to update to my previous review of Elevate Gymnastics, which was about three years ago, because I think its important that anyone interested in getting their children into Gymnastics understands what a top tier program Elevate operates. I don't know that anyone has addressed this in previous reviews. I might be a bit long winded but if you want to get an idea of how good the program is bear with me. Like most gymnastic programs, Elevate has introductory programs (run through the local parks and recreations dept.) that start kids off tumbling and becoming familiar with skills used in gymnastics. These programs are very basic and have a lot of kids and sometimes parents involved. If the parent wants to advance the child, or if the coaches think the child has potential (they will suggest advancement), the child can move up into more advanced and skilled programs at Elevate. For the boys (my son has been doing gymnastics going on six/seven years). They will advance your child from the tumbling programs, to a pre-team program then into the team levels. The levels are based on the skill and age of the gymnast. They start off at Level 4 and go all the way to Level 10. If your child is capable the coaches will talk to you regarding advancement because the higher the sill level the greater the time commitment for the child and of course the more expensive the fees. The issue of talent and abilities is something that parents need to consider, understand, and come to terms with when it comes to competitive gymnastics. The coaches will NOT advance your child if they do not have the skills to move forward, so it is possible that your child may not advance past a certain level. Not every child is born to be an Olympic Gymnast regardless of how hard they try and the coaches will not put your child in danger by advancing them past their abilities. The teams are coached by USA Gymnastics qualified coaches. The head coach Ron Howard is a great coach and very well respected in the gymnastics community. The other boys coaches Rick, Tanner, and John are also excellent coaches. During the 2018 season the level 10 15/16 year old boys team did very well. They were entered in 5 invitational meets and came in first place in all of them for their level and age group. The meets were in Reno, Las Vegas, Stanford, Elk Grove, and Rancho Cordova. The boys did very well at the State Championships (Nor Cal) as well, I believe they came in second. Almost all of the boys went to the Region 1 Championships (Reg 1 is Nor Cal, So Cal, Arizona, Nevada, and Hawaii). The boys team sent seven boys to Nationals (Junior Olympics) this year. Two of those boys (both from the level 10 team) are going to the US Gymnastic's Championship. This meet has the best gymnasts in the country and is where National titles and team births are decided. So, in a nutshell the competitive gymnastics program is as good as any in the country. Since my son has been there they have sent boys on to several different colleges - Berkeley, Penn St., the Univ. of Illinois, the Air Force Academy, and the Army Academy. This year Elevate had the most Academic All Americans of any team in the country. If you child wants to be a competitive gymnast and has the skills and drive to achieve it, you won't find a better gym than Elevate. read more

This place is disgusting! My daughter recently participated in a 6-week 'basic gym' through CSD. On day one the staff at the front desk were incredibly rude, I went back to ask a question and the lady looked at me, ignored me, and continued walking. I said 'excuse me, I asked a question'. She sighed and gave some snappy response. OK, I was willing to look past that, maybe she was overwhelmed that day. So my daughter attended a couple sessions and wasn't feeling well for the next two. I kept her home because we're living in Covid times and out of respect for others and an abundance of caution. Upon my daughters return the class started late. She was in Maggie's group. When Maggie learned my daughter hasn't mastered a cartwheel she sighed, scoffed at, and rolled her eyes at my daughter! There was also another girl in class that was a bit heavier than the other girls in class. She couldn't do a flip on the bar, again Maggie scoffed and rolled her eyes! Fat shaming? Maybe. At the least, she's rude and forgetting this is a recreational beginners program through CSD. Most of the kids in the group were younger than my near 12 year old. My daughter will not be returning, they got their money. If it would have worked out I would have signed her up for a program directly through Elevate because she showed interest, but no thanks! I won't have my kid attending with some disrespectful adults that run the show. Very disheartening. read more

Very disappointed in this gym. I was so excited that my son finally found an activity that he loves but after a couple of months, we won't be continuing. The young adults that "teach" the kinder classes appear bored, disengaged, and do not have the skill set to keep the 5-6 year olds focused to ensure they're following along and performing the moves correctly. For $70 a month you get only one class a week. Additionally, the gym is not air conditioned in the summer (they said they have swamp coolers but it felt like a sauna in there). Poor little athletes. This business is out for the money and could care less. UPDATE: They have raised their prices since this review to $78 a month for one class per week that is one hour long. read more

I'm updating this review to one star because it seems to be getting worse my daughter no longer enjoys the class her teacher is rude doesn't help them, and she even tells other staff that the younger girls were boring and she didnt want to be there so i rather save my money then have my daughter being taught by someone who doesn't even want to teach (young teenager) also when I spoke with the office to advise of why I was leaving it seemed like they didnt even care so I will take my business elsewhere.
