The manicurist is also the owner of the salon and is a very personable person and I enjoyed our conversation while getting my nails done. She even offered to purchase a green colored gel polish, because I requested it and she didn't have it in stock. Everyone was very friendly, professional, and warming. BTW, she gave me my own nail file/ buffer to utilize when I want to take the gel off of my nails. I will definitely be back for more gel polish manicures! PS: I saw people getting their hair cut while I waited, and the stylist had great skills!

I've been a first time client at many salons as I move around quite a bit and I even worked as a receptionist at a hair salon for a while, so I'd say that for the average person I have a good understanding of how they operate and how to act as a client. I needed my hair highlighted before going out of town since I couldn't get in with my normal stylist in time. I specifically picked this place based on the stylist's Instagram portfolio (Catherine Keller), who had availability at 9am, so I booked with her two days before. The appointment was booked but needed to be confirmed and since I'm no stranger to online scheduling I'm sure all she had to do in those two days was hit a button to confirm or decline. The day of rolled around and at 8:30 I called, texted, and Instagram messaged Catherine since my appointment had not been confirmed. I didn't hear back so out of respect for her time, I drove 30 mins for my appointment. I walked in and there was music playing in the back and I could hear someone talking but the place was otherwise completely empty. I wasn't about to wander around since I honestly felt like I was intruding so I called, texted, and DMed again. I sent one last message around 9:30 saying that I was still here and that I'd be leaving soon unless I heard otherwise from her. At 9:35 I got an email that they had declined my 9:00 appointment. Screenshot included. Honestly I'm just super frustrated as I really needed this confidence boost and went out of my way (1 hour round trip) to be a respectful client only to be completely ignored. This is super unprofessional and I have never seen something like this since stylists/salons usually value their time and have strict policies to protect them. If a client is able to book an appointment with you, the least you can do is confirm or deny BEFORE their appointment time! Then I might have been able to find somewhere else to go at the very least, but now my only time window for this has been wasted. Needless to say I won't try again. Do better

To start, I had issues making my appointment. I was out of the country so I had my mother call and book with April. Later I was told April is not accepting new clients. After this, I booked online with Lindsey. That appointment was canceled due to my request for ombré. I was sent an email offering me an option for another stylist which I was not comfortable with so instead they just outright cancelled THAT appointment as well. I didn't know this until I called to confirm (when I got back into the US) the day before only to be told I had no appointment. The woman answering the phone told me CeCe was good with color and was sure she would do an amazing job so reluctantly I booked with her. The day of the appt CeCe was on time and pleasant. However, I brought a photo of the exact look I wanted. This is where the problem began she began to bring ME swatches asking ME what I thought of such and such color. She stated she saw purple in the photo! I didn't see it, but I'm not a stylist either all I can do as the client who flies airplanes for a living (mind you I don't go out and ask other people what to do to do my job properly) she was asking what do you think if this color? I brought a PHOTO I want that. So finally she settled and began. CeCe painted three inches of my root color a burgundy wine color! It was BLOCKED not "melted" Then the overall color was reddish not brown like the photo I showed which was beautiful brown with melted caramel highlights in it! I was shocked and even that day in the salon I said my roots look odd. She stated it was the light. It was when I got home and took photos that I could really see what had been done! I called the salon and CeCe agreed to correct the mistake two days later. That day I took my mother with me in case it was me not communicating what I need effectively. CeCe was defensive and it made me uncomfortable. She actually argued with my mother in front of the salon causing a bit of an interest for other coworkers to watch. She "corrected the color" which pretty much took me back to my original color and then when it was done she said "Oh I had to cover the ombré part because of what you ask me to do" I was VERY clear that was the ONLY part I liked!!! The color was not right but I told her I loved the dimensions. The day I went in for correction, she did not charge but I don't expect someone to work for free either so I purchased shampoo and conditioner and put a tip on top of that. I went home and when I finally washed my hair the color WASHED OUT!! So I paid not once but TWICE to get not a single thing I wanted and to lose the one thing I liked about my hair!!! I reached out stating the color was not what I ask for and in addition, the distinct wine color used at my root was unflattering, harsh and in some spots actually made me look bald. This whole process has been extremely upsetting but what makes the matter worse is I've now contacted them several times with no response. Clearly they do not care. If you are looking for a salon this is not the place!!

I was really impressed with the work they did and decided then that I needed one of them to bless my hair with their hands, lol. I called the shop and spoke to Taniya/tnicole (omg my bad if I spelled your name wrong) and she was extremely nice and helpful. She was able to squeeze me in for an appointment with Jade. I was also able to purchase hair from them as well and that was super convenient. Not knowing where I was going, I arrived at the salon a little late but Jade was understanding and still was polite and professional. The salon itself is nicely decorated. One thing that really stood out to me was that a hair wash was still included in the service. Like that's so unheard of now which I don't understand why. Jade did an amazing job on my hair. My hair was laid OK?! I felt like a new woman and received several compliments as soon as I walked out of the salon door. I highly recommend them both. I also love that I never feel sold but educated to make informed decisions. We talk about angles, lengths, routines, hair care, and products - and I never feel sold or pressured into anything. I have seen a massive transformation in my hair in the last five years, and I owe that all to these stylists. It's worth every penny and minute invested. Although each stylist is unique in their approach and rank (junior/senior stylists), as a client, you can see that regardless of those factors you are getting a dedicated, quality experience with real people who are passionate about what they do. Upon completion of the redo service, I was told that I needed to buy a specific shampoo and conditioner to preserve the Keratin. Since I was told about this beforehand this time, it was a better experience than last time, when I wasn't even told about needing specific aftercare products. Update: so I go back and follow their instructions and purchase the specific products and use them as directed and my hair is still not straight. This Keratin does not work.

UPDATE 2: In regards to Kay's unprofessional comment- I went to different stylists for…read moreCONSULTATIONS. They did not lighten my hair again as you incorrectly assumed. I was told by multiple stylists the work Locks and Lashes did was horrendous. The micro extensions were placed on thin pieces of hair, so the extensions would inevitably fall out fast. I remember a stylist watch Kay put in my extensions, and she whispered "you're doing this really fast...". She did it fast because she overbooked. The extensions were also placed in no pattern- trained stylist knows to place these extensions in rows, so it looked TERRIBLE and caused my hair to get tangled and matted up. Kay: I asked to lighten my hair only enough not to damage it. I specifically said do not overdo it as I knew it was damaged. Finally, Kay "misunderstood" what services I wanted during our initial consultation. I said I wanted the brown under my hair blonde, but Kay still scheduled a partial highlight (this does not cover the bottom of the hair). She did this because she's money hungry and tries to get in as many clients as possible per day. Masks were not required during the appointment, and the salon was at full capacity (and this was days after salons re-opened). Locks and Lashes clearly does not care about COVID protocols, as they broke several guidelines during my appointment. It felt like they were trying to maximize revenue and did not care about the safety of their clients, nor do they take pride in the work they do. If you're a victim of terrible extensions from this salon, *Amor Beauty by Andreia* is professionally trained in microbead extensions, and she fixed all the terrible work this salon did at a very reasonable price. Like I said in my original review: The client is never right. Kay- your comment only shows how immature you are.
