Bought the Groupon for Locks and Lashes as I recently moved to the area and had no idea where to look for someone to do my hair. Lynette did a great job on my cut and color and was very sweet! I was very pleased with her service and have gotten a ton of compliments! It is a little pricey. If I had paid regular price for balayage and a cut ($300) I don't think it would be considered a good value compared to some of the other places. read more

The salon offered me an opportunity to go back and have my hair redone. The stylist who do my Keratin treatment the first time was no longer working there, and the two stylists who did my hair were kind and efficient. Upon completion of the redo service, I was told that I needed to buy a specific shampoo and conditioner to preserve the Keratin. Since I was told about this beforehand this time, it was a better experience than last time, when I wasn't even told about needing specific aftercare products. Update: so I go back and follow their instructions and purchase the specific products and use them as directed and my hair is still not straight. This Keratin does not work. read more

UPDATE 2: In regards to Kay's unprofessional comment- I went to different stylists for CONSULTATIONS. They did not lighten my hair again as you incorrectly assumed. I was told by multiple stylists the work Locks and Lashes did was horrendous. The micro extensions were placed on thin pieces of hair, so the extensions would inevitably fall out fast. I remember a stylist watch Kay put in my extensions, and she whispered "you're doing this really fast...". She did it fast because she overbooked. The extensions were also placed in no pattern- trained stylist knows to place these extensions in rows, so it looked TERRIBLE and caused my hair to get tangled and matted up. Kay: I asked to lighten my hair only enough not to damage it. I specifically said do not overdo it as I knew it was damaged. Finally, Kay "misunderstood" what services I wanted during our initial consultation. I said I wanted the brown under my hair blonde, but Kay still scheduled a partial highlight (this does not cover the bottom of the hair). She did this because she's money hungry and tries to get in as many clients as possible per day. Masks were not required during the appointment, and the salon was at full capacity (and this was days after salons re-opened). Locks and Lashes clearly does not care about COVID protocols, as they broke several guidelines during my appointment. It felt like they were trying to maximize revenue and did not care about the safety of their clients, nor do they take pride in the work they do. If you're a victim of terrible extensions from this salon, *Amor Beauty by Andreia* is professionally trained in microbead extensions, and she fixed all the terrible work this salon did at a very reasonable price. I have been here 3 times now and I really love this place. Kady is quick and great at what she does. I think she is also very competitively priced. Definitely recommend getting your lashes done here. They also do hair which I am tempted to get the full pampered experience next time I go. read more

It's alright!! Salem did my balayage she did a good job I mean put effort and she did what she gotta do. Honestly, result didn't came in good it was just a bit of shine to my hair that's about it. I wanted to do honey blonde, but she told me it won't turned out like exactly the way I wanted which I get it. I was excited to see my hair after the blowout but ugh it wasn't even close to balayage. I got big glamorous lashes today and I was so nervous. I have a phobia of anyone near my eyes and figured I would have a panic attack. I also worried about how heavy these large lashes would feel. The entire process went so smooth with zero panic attacks as she helped calm me down during it. I even dosed off for a bit! Afterwards, it felt completely natural. Nothing compared to heaviness of false lashes do to your eyelids. It feels 10000% the same until these gorgeous beauties hit my top eye lid. :) read more

It is so sad that you can lie so freely and not care. I never said I loved my hair, sadly. I have an email from Brazilian Blowout that says different. You did not do enough passages and we discussed this. You never returned my calls which is why it took so long to reach you. The other Brazilian's I received did not even come close to yours and it is because you rushed through it and didn't do enough passages like they said. You never even recommended their product, you recommended a product for blonde hair. You even said that the Purology product I use is a great product and is fine to use because it is sulphate free. I honestly do not want to give you a hard time but you shouldn't be dishonest. You did a terrible job and did not make it right. People should know. read more

Horrible experience at this salon. After just moving to Charlotte I was already nervous about trying a new salon for cut and color. I booked my appointment in advance and paid the deposit. After arriving for my appointment my stylist said and I know you were told there's an additional $40 (yes $40) bc I'm a senior stylist. I said I was never told that and she said well it's marked here on you account that you were told when you made the appointment (FALSE). Bc I had already taken a half day off work and had driven to the salon I decided to suck it up. I showed a picture of the cut and color I wanted and the stylist seemed to have no issue as it really wasn't complicated, simple trim & touch up balayage. After coloring which took nearly 2.5 hours she washed my hair and asked if I wanted toner. I said doesn't toner come with the balayage? She said no is additional $25 (OMG!?) I was so pissed but didn't want orange hair so I went for it. She proceeded to cut my hair and then I was told she did not have time to dry it bc her next appointment was there...(WHAT!?) because I had purchased a groupon and style as included in the price but was not done I asked if she could replace the toner cost for the style since she didn't have time & she said no.... after nearly 4 hours I was done and just wanted to get the hell out of there after paying $65 more than I had anticipated on and already ridiculously high price for cut/color and left with sopping wet hair only to get home and after drying myself saw the horrific color!! The top half was so orange & brassy while the bottom half was an ashy gray color. Not to mention my cut was so jagged and totally off! I called back to reschedule and was treated so rudely. I finally was able to get on the schedule and once arrived I was basically blamed for the color as the stylist said she asked me if I thought she had left it on long enough. WHAT!? You're the hair stylist not me!! I wanted her to completely re do it but she refused and said she could only try to "fix" what I was unhappy with. She then proceeded to have a lower level stylist "fix" my color for her after I paid for a "senior stylist" I asked if she could also fix the cut and she said she didn't have time!? All and all DONT WASTE YOUR TIME (I spent nearly 7 hrs at this place in total) OR MONEY! You will be disappointed! Terrible quality & service. read more

Horrible place, They are nothing but lying, manipulative theives. I went here for eyelash extensions My eyelashes were about 200.00 My eyelashes were falling out within a week. I went back to them to fix it, because they didn't do them right and they charged me another 50 for their screw up I also went again for the same reason this time they charged me 75 once again for something that was their fault I was litterally leaving and my eyelashes were falling off the moment I left. This place is very unprofessional the lady wanted me to make another appointment which I knew I wouldn't be able to afford for awhile so politely declined and she wasn't too happy that I turned down the appointment about a month later I received a 75 dollar charge onto my card I was in shock but I knew it had to be a mistake. So I called and told them what had happened but they blamed it on me and til this day swear that I made an appointment which I didn't. It was an unauthorized charge. I also never gave them Permission to save my card information. They are money hungry thieves. They are such horrible people I hope they never scam anyone again! read more

My issue is just the communication between the coworkers and communication with the clients. I had extensions done and was told when making an appt that my $25 deposit will go towards the service. My initial appt had to be rescheduled because of a lash tint that was done at a different location was not done properly and I wanted to go to this location because of the work I've seen them do and I thought it was great. I appreciated the honesty and the worker telling me that it was best for me to wait until my lashes got to a position where the extensions would stick. She stated that she would call and let me know what options we had and I scheduled another appointment. She never called and I never got the text message I received the first time making an appointment so I wasn't sure if she was even able to do the work. After my lashes got to a position where I thought she would be able to do the work I called back and spoke with Kady. I advised that I paid a deposit initially but wasn't able to do the work at that time and I didn't go to the second appointment because I wasn't sure if she was able to do it (because I didn't receive a call as promised) and did not receive the reminder text messages. She stated that the $25 would go to the service and I went in for the lash extensions. They do great work I must say because I have seen other clients when I was there before. But for my appointment I asked for a natural set but wasn't asked what kind of curl I wanted or how I wanted them to look. I thought they would look like the natural sets I've seen on Instagram and also the other clients I've seen in the salon. I was getting this done for a very special event the next day and couldn't really argue with the way it was done. Of course after extensions you can't just take them off without pulling out your real lashes. Also she stated that my extensions would probably fall out because of the way my lashes were before coming in so the big problem is The lashes were not the look I wanted because the curl was too tight and also I had to pay $25 more for lashes that would probably fall out sooner than they should which I would not have done if I knew this was the case. I told the receptionist that I was told the money will go towards the service but she just repeated it was gone because of the no show. Maybe I should have booked with Kady then my work would have been better and I wouldn't have had to pay 25 extra dollars for service that I really didn't like. This probably won't happen to another client but I definitely won't be going back. read more

My sister-n-law used this salon for services and they ruined her hair. She used a groupon for a cut and color service. After the service was completed, she went to check out and the salon charged her additional money stating it was for additional services, of which was not disclosed at the time the service was rendered (unprofessional). The salon owner or person claiming to be, because this company is not registered with the NC Secretary of Statey, stated she knew my sister-n-law did not obtain services she went in for and had her come back to "fix" the issue. My sister-n-law went in for black fading into purple hair and came out with burnt orange hair that was uneven in color after going back. The lesson learned is that when a salon advertises and uses Groupon, they need business and do not use that salon! It is very sad that women do not support women and making them feel beautiful, particularly when you are in the beauty industry.
