New to the neighborhood and stepped in to see if I could possibly get a wash and cut service , upon walking in the girls were looking at me as if I was from another planet .... The receptionist told me that she doesn't think they do black hair ... I asked if she could please ask a stylist just to make sure, she asks a stylist and they look over at me and whisper, she comes back and again lets me know that they do not do black hair . Now, I understand that they may not be familiar or have worked w black hair , that's not my issue, my issue is the side eyes , the unfriendly energy, it gave very much MEAN girl and I do not appreciate it . I recently visited this salon for a root touch-up, and my experience was disappointing. The water for washing my hair was ice-cold due to a problem with their heating system. My stylist tried her best to use boiled water, but she still had to use cold water to rinse out the shampoo and finish the service, which made me very uncomfortable. What was even more disheartening was the owner's complete lack of concern. She didn't acknowledge the issue or apologize for the inconvenience, making me feel undervalued as a customer. I appreciate my stylist's efforts, but the overall lack of customer service from the owner was unacceptable. I do not recommend this salon to anyone, especially with that owner in charge. Had my second visit yesterday. I like the color job, however, my hair is not pixie short nor is it medium length and when I asked for a cut yesterday in addition to color and was cut less than 1/2 inch of hair and didn't get what I asked for, I think being charged $248 was way too much. So I didnt cheat on the tip (although I should have) I walked away paying way too much. If this is how they treat regular monthly clients , I'm not going back. read more

Had the worst experience at this salon. I'm usually not one to post bad reviews but I have cried for months over my hair. I keep it in a ponytail most of the time now since my hair job was that terrible. I will however not give them an entirely awful review since they some what came through with the cut. Denise cut my hair and she did a good job, not 200 dollar job though. I went over some color options with her, and fell in love with the idea of giving my hair some spunk. I hadn't had a haircut or dye in over a year, in between being pregnant and having a newborn to care for I didn't have much time to myself. I did however know going into it that this salon is very pricey but I felt it was worth it since it had been so long so why not get the best in town... or so I thought. I scheduled with Julie Yamada, as recommended by Denise and let me just say it was disastrous. There is no easy way to put it. I was in a chair for almost 8 hours the first time to leave with orange hair, mind you I had to call the babysitter a couple of times to keep extending the time for my baby since I had only reserved her for what I was told, 4-5 hours, what a balayage usually takes. I had to leave because it had simply been too long. Julie recommended I come back to get it retouched because it looked terrible, or in her words "she needs to get it perfect before I leave the chair". I came back a second time, once again she glosses my hair about 5 times having me wait a couple minutes for each yet again leaving with clown hair. I wanted something beautiful, and subtle. Something professional. This was far from it. Here I am calling up the salon coming in a 3rd time. I spoke to Carol Ann who gave me an up-charge because I wanted to get it fixed by Denise. I already knew Julie wasn't doing the trick. But instead of having it be part of the customer service where the head stylist fixes your hair, I get an up charge. I came back with Julie instead since I had already spent well over 700 dollars for the entire process and still left in tears. This time it wasn't so bad. I guess I could live with it. The color was a little less orange and a little more subtle than before. Denise mentioned this time the color would not fade. On top of the messy hair job I received my hair is also damaged. Luckily I do have thicker hair but I can feel how crisp my ends are and how easily it has breakage. Here I was a week later looking at my hair and once again in tears because it never became what I was once lived up to think it would've been. I sincerely paid way too much money for the awful job they did to my hair. The customer service was terrible for the time and money I put into it. They played with my emotions, hair is so personal and so impactful but here I am hiding behind ponytails. read more

I got my haircut and color with Courtney and seriously it's the best haircut and color I've ever had . My hair is easier to manage and takes shape I didn't know it had. I'm a costumer for life. Minthia is a miracle worker. I came to her for major root grow out and a color correction. She efficiently and skillfully consulted on what needed to be done and told me "I got you". Immediately I was put at ease and completely trusted her. I walked out today feeling like a different woman with so much confidence and a cool ashy blonde that I have never been able to achieve with other artists. Her chair side manner is also stellar. The salon itself is warm and welcoming. Everyone genuinely seems to like each other. I felt special and well taken care of so thank you for that. Best Salon Ever! I cannot say enough great things about my recent visits to Denise Antonacci Salon. First off, the customer service by every single person who works there is outstanding!!! Their attention to detail at their salon is second to none. I first went there about 5 weeks ago to have a consult for a Brazilian Blowout and Color. I had already had two Brazilian Blowouts at a different salon and was not happy. After doing Keratin Smoothing treatments for years I was very frustrated. They had scheduled me with Julie who is also a Color specialist. My color was rather dull and I needed direction. From the minute I met Julie and shared with her what I was looking for and what I was unhappy about, she was nothing but caring and empathetic. She said to me something I have never heard at a salon before. "We want you to feel beautiful". And since my BB and color with Julie, to a blowout and style with Meg, to my first haircut with Minthia a few days ago, I have been happier with my hair than I have been in years!! And I also feel more beautiful than ever. I absolutely love this salon and can't recommend it enough. They even loved my little dog Oliver! read more

I wanted to try a new salon as my other took months to get an appointment. Saw some good reviews here so I called for just a trim and they were able to do same day! It was so a great hair cut and they clearly have paid attention to details to make their customers comfortable. I love the massage chairs while getting your hair shampooed and they offered all sorts of beverages when I walked in. The stylist listened to exactly what I wanted and it turned out great. I also felt it was reasonably priced compared to other salons I've been to in Charlotte. Will return!! read more

"All that Glitters is NOT Gold." If you value the integrity of your hair and your time, buyer beware. Despite the rave reviews at Denise Antonacci Salon, I had an extremely disappointing, albeit disturbing experience here, not only once but TWICE with two colorists, Minthia & Julie. During my most recent visit, I asked Julie for lighter and brighter highlights around my face and instead of painting highlights, she painted TONER!!!!!! This left my hair super dull and with my grays still showing around my temples!!!!!, including my left side root area lighter than the right side root area. Julie's response was "I'm sorry I am a work in progress and people make mistakes." Their website bios are bullshit and vague, nor does it show where their stylists worked in the past or what schools they previously attended. Good colorists get extensive training and they are mentored for YEARS to avoid amateur mistakes. These mistakes from so-called "seasoned" colorists should never happen!! Having come from the talented salons of Manhattan for 40 years, I can tell you that Good colorists DO NOT make mistakes, ONLY BAD, inexperienced ones do. Not only did they completely ignore my requests here, but I left the salon upset, angry, and displeased knowing I had to yet again waste several hours in the salon chair for Julie to do color corrections. After two horrible experiences, why didn't Denise Antonacci take the time to review their work with me? Why are they not getting taught what they did wrong? Nobody gets involved. Nobody cares about the customer here. Instead, the attitude is "sorry you are displeased, so we must NOT be the right fit for you" Denise knew the mistakes Minithia made by putting the wrong toner on my highlights ruining hours in the chair making my highlights flat and dull. The manager of the salon, Carolann unfortunately does not understand the concept of "the customer is always right" instead I was gaslighted and reprimanded for being upset and blamed for "their" mistakes made me feel bad about myself as if I was the one being wrong when in plain sight you can see the mistakes Julie had made. I have confirmation from several friends who have since seen the color mistakes and agree this was really unfair treatment. Lastly to my horror, I found out that very personal sensitive information I had previously shared with Denise Antonucci, was then shared with Carolann (Manager) and Carolann shared with Julie (Colorist) and god only knows who else knows? It was extremely personal stuff to which I am extremely embarrassed - this is not only wildly unprofessional but a breach of confidentiality. I will share that Courtney (Colorist) who is someone I never worked with went out of her way to help me during my stressful experience helping me with a blow-dry alleviating my upset. From the second I walked through the doors, I was a immediately greeted by Carolanne and began to feel at ease. Laurie Lane was patient, listened to exactly what I had envisioned for my hair and executed it phenomenally. I made an appointment with Denise for color and a haircut. I arrived at 10:00 a.m. and left at 4:00 p.m. She worked on numerous people while I was at the salon. When I checked out my bill was over $600.00. She totally over processed my hair to the point where my hair was breaking off. I had to purchase clip on bangs.
