I visited Studio Spa & Salon today to redeem a Groupon for a gel polish manicure. The service was amazing and my manicure looks great! The manicurist is also the owner of the salon and is a very personable person and I enjoyed our conversation while getting my nails done. She even offered to purchase a green colored gel polish, because I requested it and she didn't have it in stock. Everyone was very friendly, professional, and warming. BTW, she gave me my own nail file/ buffer to utilize when I want to take the gel off of my nails. I will definitely be back for more gel polish manicures! PS: I saw people getting their hair cut while I waited, and the stylist had great skills! read more

KEDRIANA the hairstylist is always who has did my hair here, & this is my last time I'll ever go back to see her. KEDRIANA was very rude and unprofessional about the mistake and huge complete mess up she did to my head. I ended up having to find a stylist that could fix the issue without damaging my hair, which the only option was a color correction $$$. Now my hair is potentially damaged from her shitty products as she claims she used a new bleach and didn't let me lift long enough, because of this my hair turned a orangey / golden color.. KEDRIANA also refused to fix her mistake, and only gave me half of my payment back. I think this is horrible business and will never recommend this place to anyone for how she treated me. read more

My mom got me a day of beauty which included hair, pedicure, manicure, and brow waxing. Ashleigh who did my hair and brows, was awesome. Love my cut and blowout. Brows were painless and look fabulous. Angie did my pedicure and manicure, was not completely satisfied with that. The actual pedicure and manicure was good just the nail colors they have. The polish I choose for my feet was a red. It took forever to dry. I got done at 330, I wore sandals to make sure it could and would dry. I was going bowling that night and would have to put socks on. Honestly thought by 8 they would be dry. To my shock when I took my socks off, my big toe was all screwed up. So I would not recommend a color of you get a pedicure or manicure unless you have a long time to wait for them to dry. read more

I can only assume the owner is the woman who yelled at me in the parking lot today? If not, she certainly acted like she owned the entire strip mall. I frequent this little mall several times a week: Waxhaw Family Vision, Asian Grill, Snap Fitness, the new Italian restaurant, Ice Cream and Pizza Works and YES, Studio U. Today I parked in front of this business and walked with my daughter to Snap Fitness. It was then that a woman ran out of the place and yelled at us for parking in front of Studio U. She said that parking spot was for her customers ONLY. I should have parked in front of Snap Fitness or behind the building because Studio U has limited parking. Really? I should have taken a picture of the empty parking lot to show you how laughable this situation was at the time. Also, there were no signs indicating that I was parking in a reserved spot. As an owner, she should be embarrassed to yell at anyone who visits her shopping center, especially when those spots are not specifically reserved for her business, especially when an empty parking lot speaks volumes about her nail place. She was completely out of line. Her anger and vitriol were unnecessary and I hope she is embarrassed. Needless to say, I will NEVER get my nails done at Studio U EVER again. Based on her parking lot behavior she probably doesn't even care, but I will contact the strip mall's management company to complain. I will also be notifying all other companies around her that this is how she does business and that I can't spend my money at their businesses if a spot isn't available near their storefronts. I've had my nails done here before and they are average. Nothing to write home about. This is the icing on the cake. NOT a good way to do business. NOT a good way for me to start my day. I am angry and will not stop until people know that this is how she runs her business. read more

Got a wash, cut and blow dried do today. I called the day before and was able to get an appointment the next day. Angie was very friendly and did a good job. I had 2 inches taken off and my hair looks and feels healthy. The place opens at 10 am but ladies were already there getting their hair done. I saw a lot of older ladies coming in to get their hair done (me included)! Younger crowd may come in during the evenings or on Saturday's. I didn't think the place itself was anything fancy but who cares as long as you get the cut you want! read more

Beautiful Salon and amazing staff. The first time that I walked in, I was immediately greeted by a very friendly staff, I had my 2 children with me, my 9yr old daughter and 11 yr old son. While I was getting my nails done, my son got a chair massage (that he loved) and my daughter got her nails painted..all complimentary of the staff. I LOVE trying Groupons on places that I have never visited to see if it's worth going back and unfortunately, I will not be going back to this salon. I redeemed my Groupon for gel nails recently and was not thrilled. The place seems very disheveled. The tiny desk where my nails were done was very dirty. I wish I would have been paired with the owner based on the previous review because the person that I was with had no idea how to do nails and it showed. It looks like I have 2 weeks worth of growth and wear and it has been 1 day. I do my nails all of the time and receive many compliments on them, so I thought that I would treat myself to a professional. Big mistake. read more

Kelly colored and cut my hair last week and I have gotten so many compliments!! Complete strangers have said "I love your hair color it's so pretty." I went into the salon on an amazing Groupon deal, but already rescheduled with her in a few weeks. She is the salon owner, is very friendly and definitely listened to what I wanted as far as color goes. They use Goldwell color, which I had never used before, I am a long-time Redken lover, but so far the color is holding up very well and has a lot of depth and shine. Waited 30 minutes past my appointment time. The salon was dirty and had an unpleasant smell. The stylist was friendly, but not a very experienced. I was quoted one price over the phone and was charged $20 more. I felt I had to write a review because its not fair for the customers, when you get bad service for an expensive treatment. read more
