We've had our rescue doodle for a few months - a 2 year old who had been severely neglected. We tried every dog training video and "technique" we could find online and day after day, felt like we had very little influence over him. He didn't care about our personal time or space and had very little respect for us inside our own home. Being big and very strong, walking him was tough. The biggest issue was his lunging and barking at other dogs, which became a little scary. We were always on edge whenever other dogs were in earshot. His reactivity was the highest I had ever seen, so this was all new to me. We knew several people who had great results with professional trainers, and after hitting our limits with DIY, we knew we needed proper help. Elevated Canine was recommended to us, and we reached out quickly. Mark met with us at a nearby park and spent some time with our dog, showing us very quickly that he was willing to receive training. Given our very social lifestyle, Mark recommended Jess, a trainer in San Diego who trains service dogs. Red would be trained in high-traffic environments around lots of people and dogs, which was perfect for us. They had an opening quickly, so we packed his bags and said goodbye for the three-week program. Jess gave us regular updates with photos and videos of her work with Red. I can't say enough about Elevated Canine! Our dog, Ziggy, is our first dog we've owned (outside of growing up with our parent's dogs) so we were definitely in need of essential foundation training work. We wanted our dog to learn basic obedience, walk loosely on a leash, and eventually be trained to walk off leash. We also wanted to learn how we can fulfill the needs of our very high energy working breed (Ziggy is a male euro Doberman) and begin sports foundation work like agility. When we reached out to Elevated Canine, we were paired with Felipe Baeza. Felipe has been a HUGE help with Ziggy's foundational obedience and overall behavior at home. Felipe is patient, knowledgeable, and really understands how to communicate with dogs (and their owners!). He always took his the time to understand Ziggy's unique challenges and created a customized training plan that addressed everything, from walking politely on a leash to coming when called. Not only did Ziggy improve in obedience, but we also gained the confidence and tools to continue training at home. The transformation in my dog has been incredible, and walks are now enjoyable instead of stressful. We also learned how to REALLY play with our dog and through that, our relationship with Ziggy has significant improved. He taught us how to actively engage with Ziggy using food and toys plus he taught us interactive games with obedience to ensure Ziggy builds impulse control and continues to listen to us. Felipe also opened the door to the dog sport, IGP (Schutzhund), and we are now actively training with him to compete. Felipe has been an instrumental part of Ziggy's IGP training and continues to help guide us on each exercise with compassion and patience. Felipe also provides us with information on workshops and will send us videos to help us understand the details of the exercises. We also had to travel out of the country for a few weeks and boarded Ziggy with Elevated Canine as well. Roel was our trainer to help and he is seriously amazing!!! He texted us with updates on Ziggy's training and helped improved his focus heel and about turns. He also trained Ziggy in different environments building his confidence further. Well I've been researching reputable trainers in the area for my 1 year old German Shepard. I found Oscar on youtube being interviewed by Robert Cabral. I was really impressed with his unique talents in dog training. I contacted his facility and someone texted me to set up an consult appointment with my dog. I understand Oscar is busy but I did request if he can at least evaluate my dog and if I choose to...I would consider having other trainers work with her. He totally ignored my request and set up an appointment with another trainer anyways. Slightly disappointed but I read on his website that he stands by his trainers. I went ahead with the appointment reluctantly. So yeah this other trainer "evaluated" my dog. She is a puppy that needs a lot of work but she doesn't have any big issues. We talked about some training options to consider....one was to do a board and train for $6,000 and another was a training package for $900. I really didn't feel confident enough to do either. He hasn't shown me any techniques or handled my dog to show me what he's all about. How am I supposed to be convinced this is the right trainer for my dog? I might as well just go to a random trainer elsewhere. Oscar was the reason why I looked up his business. I wanted to set my dog up with success moving forward with the best trainer in the area. Our American Bully x Rottweiler mix Silas began his training with Roel when he was about 7/8 months old for a 5 week board and train to address basic obedience and an introduction to off leash. Jess has been my puppy's trainer for over 3 months now and she has changed everything! At the beginning my puppy got extremely excited when seeing another puppy it was impossible sometimes to get her to calm down , stop barking and pulling towards them, this was why I contacted Jess. I have met several other trainers in the past for my other dogs, but I have never come across anyone like Jess! In a short period of time, my puppy has improved so much. WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!!!! If i could give 6 stars I would!! I adopted Charlie, a 1 year old Belgium Malinois mix in Nov 2020. I knew what I was getting into with a mal, and thought I could do training since i worked from home. While Charlie was pretty good on leash walking and listened to some commands (like sit and down), he had was a handful. I tried taking him out and would get slightly aggressive on the leash, with other dogs, and would not listen / wait if I took him out in public to lunch or something like that. A friend recommend ECA (his Mal was trained by Oscar, the Owner) but I was nervous since they trained his pup at 3/4 months old, verses my rescue (who by this time was 2.5) I decided to at least take the assessment for the board and train program and was connected with Chris C. IMMEDIATLY could see a difference with how Charlie responded to him. I ended up sending him off for 5 week and got him back in May of 2022. I can not stress enough how much my dog has changed for the good!! He is calm in outdoor situations, listens to me and I have built a stronger bond with my dog than I ever thought I could have. My friend (who met Charlie the day I brought him home) was astounded when he met us out for lunch and Charlie not only recognized and got super excited to see him, but WAITED till I released him. I can confidently take him in public places and have a super behaved dog. Chris really knows what he is doing and is passionate about training dogs. He also is a fabulous trainer for people! He worked with myself and my folks (since i travel a lot and leave Charlie with them a lot) to help make sure we know how to command Charlie, hold him accountable, and continue building the bond with him. We had a fantastic experience with Elevated Canine Academy in San Diego. Our trainer Jess was spectacular from day 1. She worked with our Malinois mix, named Zara. Zara was having issues in her crate, being destructive at home and having some trust issues with us. After all her sessions she is doing so much better. Now she is calm in the crate and seems to be relaxed. She has been less destructive and we have the tools to correct her and help prevent incidents like this. She also trusts us more now after implementing the daily training and play. She's a different dog thanks to Jess. Jess worked so well with her but it was more also about training us to be good handlers and dog parents as well. Zara is now just as calm and relaxed as our dachshund Wally. I'm writing this on behalf of my Bernedoodle puppy Wally - and our trainer Jessica! I hope that this will help someone with similar issues with their puppy. Wally was 8 months old I decided to enter him in the 3 week B&T program. This decision was made with a lot of research and hesitation (since it's an investment and lots of mixed reviews out there). I felt comfortable and decided to go with ECA after reading lots of real results/ reviews, my own research, and meeting his trainer Jess twice before sending him off. Within our two sessions, Jess gave me lots of insightful points and Wally also let her pet him, which was a first, so I knew he was in good hands. Wally's issues include being weary and skittish in new environments, and especially with strangers (no issues with dogs for transparency). It became a real problem when I brought him to my significant other's family's house and he would excessively bark out of fear every time one of them came near or pass by. He would also shake in public around crowded places, and I knew he couldn't live his life in fear and I needed professional help with socialization and confidence building for him, and the obedience was a great added plus. Through his obedience training, he came home knowing commands he previously chose not to follow before HAHA. It has especially been able to give him a solid foundation to listen in times when he's anxious, which still happens since it's part of his personality and something we'll be working on together onwards. He came back much more confident in public, and with strangers too - he no longer barks excessively, and we've had guests come over for Thanksgiving dinner, and visited multiple friends's houses, and I'm SO impressed with how he's able to acclimate now and be neutral. My partner and I contacted Elevated Canine for help with our 1 year old dog that was generally a great dog, but only exhibited behavioral problems when left alone. Julie first did a one week board and train assessment with our dog to determine 1) whether or not she could help and 2) how long she recommended doing a board and train for. She was communicative and upfront about what she thought the problem was and told us exactly how much everything would cost. We ended up just doing a board and train for our dog for 3 weeks. Julie provided us daily updates and photos/videos for our dog to give us peace of mind. Once the training was over, she showed us what we could do to continue reinforcing his training and scheduled a progress follow up to see if there were any additional behaviors that cropped up (there haven't been.) Booked our 5month old Doberman with Jess and I couldn't be happier. She was amazing! She kept us in the loop with daily updates, answered any and every question and really paid attention to detail when it came to our pup. When we signed him up, he was very skiddish. Everything went well! I'm picky as hell! My furbaby trainer better NOT only be about money ! lol and Roel exceeded my expectations! I bought my dog Ares to Elevated Canine Academy because he would try and pull me everywhere and he was afraid of everything. After meeting with Roel so he could assess my baby boy Roel took Ares and started training him. Now he doesn't pull or anything, he stays right next to me and walks. We do off leash as well and he is doing awesome. Ares and I went to a park close to our house and Some lady was recording him and I. We reached out for training our 4 month old Malinois Niko. Due to conflicting advice from our vet, we really didn't socialize our pup too much when we got him. He had a lot of separation anxiety as well. We were paired with Roel G who did a great job socializing our dog with other dogs and people as well. Niko came back with the understanding of rules and boundaries. He also started learning impulse control. Niko is actually really good with other dogs when he's not on a leash. Our dog is still (and will probably always be) a work in progress, but we understand training is long term process and it's really on us to maintain structure and further this development. Knowing that this breed is a very difficult dog for most people, we have learned a lot with this dog, and continue to learn (and make mistakes lol) and realize the success is really dependent on the owners. I wanted to also thank Oscar Mora for taking the time out of his day to meet with us and just answer any questions we had. They have given us the tools to become successful. Mark, a trainer from the team, promptly responded to our inquiry & answered our questions with details. After doing extensive research & reaching out to many other academies, we felt most confident to proceed with Elevated after reading through reviews and was also influenced by Celine Tails lol. We want to give a shout-out to Mark. He's an amazing trainer & did wonders for Anubis. For the intro session, he took the time to answer all of our questions and showed us what we can do to prep Anubis for boarding. He didn't rush through it which we really appreciated. During boarding, Mark sent us updates with pics and videos of Anubis.. Anubis looked so happy in them! So that made us feel at ease & confident that he was being well taken care of. Our boy came back from boarding looking happy, healthy and most importantly well trained/behaved! Before the training, it was almost impossible to go on structured walks (lots of tugging/lack of focus) & we felt lost on what to do with our dog's reactivity. We're now able to confidently take Anubis to public areas and go on easy loose leash & off leash walks!! :) He has solid recall at public parks to play fetch and his reactivity has improved as well. I can't recommend Elevated Canine Academy enough. I've already told every single person at work & in my family if they need a trainer to reach out to them. I was paired with the absolute best trainer, Jonathan, and he excelled above and beyond our expectations. I have a Husky/German Shepherd mix named Bento & he's 4 1/2 years old. I rescued him when he was 1 1/2 years old and he was bounced around from home to home as well as separated from his sister which caused a lot of separation anxiety. My hopes for getting him trained was to help combat that separation anxiety and allow him the life every dog should have. Being able to find comfort while he's alone and to be social with others. I had inquired with 3 other trainers and they all gave me the same jumbo that Bento was too old to be trained, it's going to be hard to break his habits and if they were willing to take him in, they couldn't guarantee anything but would charge me excessive prices and fees. In comes Mark with elevated & he explained everything, was so transparent on what each package includes and what they can guarantee for the price that we're paying. At first I was paired with a different trainer but because of scheduling it wasn't going to work out and then I was rematched with Jonathan & when I tell you it was a sign from above matching me with him, I really do mean it. Right off the bat at our evaluation, Bento met him and not a single bark or excessive pant. Bento went straight up to Jonathan and just sniffed and wagged his tail. Which has NEVER happened to us before. Because Bento has so much anxiety, he's really nervous around new people and barks like crazy until he warms up. So that was off to a good start. Then we agreed on the 5 week board and train program (which made me realize that I might be the one with separation anxiety from Bento lol) but it was the best choice I've ever made for him. Jonathan was able to guarantee us what Bento will be able to do by the time he comes home and if he wasn't ready to be sent home, he would keep him for extra time until his promises were fulfilled which as a dog owner, made me feel 100% relaxed that I knew Bento was going to be in capable hands. Jonathan sent me updates every week with photos & videos. He even offered to FaceTime whenever I was free to show me in real time his training & would brief me on what else he has to learn. Bento is now trained on leash & off leash. His recall is killer, he listens to all verbal commands and is super attentive while still being his goofy self. Jonathan did brief me that separation anxiety will be an ongoing problem that can't be fixed overnight, but with a schedule and maintenance we can continue to lessen the anxiety. He taught us what queues we should be looking out for when Bento gets anxious and how to combat that. He gave us a routine to follow and we are now a month post board and train and Bento has never been better. I've never seen him more excited to go out on walks, to meet new people, and able to be by himself. If you're hesitant on booking, please take it from me, a dog mom who was turned down by so many other trainers, Elevated Canine Academy is where it's at. I adopted a very reactive Shepherd/Rottweiler/Pitbull puppy who showed up with all the energy and no impulse control. I cannot say enough great things about Elevated canine. We had tried many trainers, and tried for years to train our dog , Teddy but could not get him under control. We thought he was hopeless! Working with Ariel was a game changer. Our Teddy loved staying with her and came back so well-behaved. Where do I begin... Let me start off by saying that sending my dog to board and train with Elevated Canine Academy was a complete game changer!! We got this girl during peak COVID times and although we put in a ton of work with her from 7-8 weeks old (now 15 months), she started showing signs of concerning behavior associated with fear and lack of confidence. This meant that taking her anywhere was an ordeal and stressful for everyone (her included). Additionally, she is very instinctive and when she wants to go... she goes!!! This meant that walking was not enjoyable for any of us. Fast forward 3 months after she returned from board and train with Elevated, she is a completely new and improved version of herself. Her obedience is next level.. she responds the first time with consistency. She continues to build on her confidence and I can take her anywhere with me now, which has opened up a world of discovery for her. I myself have the tools to make sure she gets the most out of the experience and situation, knowing what to do and how to manage different scenarios. She looks to me for guidance and reassurance vs. freaking out and taking matters into her own hands.
