After getting nowhere with another trainer and being on the brink of giving up, my Australian…read moreShepherd Maverick entered the two week board and train training program with Omega Paws. Each evening, after spending the day working and training Maverick, Alexx would send me pictures and/or video updates, along with explanations of the things they were working on, and also what I needed to know to continue working with Maverick after he returned home. And each night I would watch the videos and cry happy tears. I couldn't believe that was my dog! Maverick responded so well with Alexx. And after two weeks, he was ready to come home. I couldn't believe it! And I was so afraid that I was going to mess something up and that my dog would never behave for me the way he had for Alexx. But I was wrong! From the day Maverick came home I could tell he was a different dog already. I paid close attention to the things that Alexx trained ME to know. And every day I continue to work with Maverick the way that we were taught. I was never fearful of the tools that Alexx employed while training Maverick. I knew that proper use of a prong collar would not hurt Maverick. And to the contrary, Maverick responded much better to that, than to having a slip lead noose around his neck. With a slip lead Maverick with pull himself so hard he could've done damage to his esophagus. But with the prong collar, he no longer pulled on his leash. I also was never afraid of using the E collar. From day one, Alexx showed me proper use of the E collar. And he even demonstrated it to me, having me hold it in my hand to feel the vibration. I know that the E collar does not harm Maverick in any way, it's simply a gentle reminder for him to make good decisions. And it works. Since Maverick came back home, I actually rarely need to even press the button to make the E collar vibrate. However, if Maverick needs a reminder, it is a tool that has proven to be extremely useful. Maverick no longer pulls when on leash. He walks next to me and heels very well. And when we encounter other dogs and he begins to bristle, as if he were going to react, all I have to do is remind him to heel. If I see that he is starting to forget, I hit the button for the E collar control. For Maverick I have it set at 15, which is pretty low, and usually one tap is all it takes to get him back on track! Sometimes all I have to do is touch the controller and he responds without me even pushing the button! It's like it's ingrained in him already. And it works! Maverick came home, such a better dog! And since then he and I have been able to bond in a way that we weren't able to in the months prior to him going to Omega Paws. Maverick now has a better understanding of what he needs to do, and he follows directions much better. He understands when I tell him to go to his place, and he stays there. He also understands when he is supposed to be in his crate, and he goes in without a fight. I love our walks because on leash he is amazing! And he has not reacted in the same manner towards another dog since returning from Omega Paws, so I no longer have that fear of being injured when he's on leash. He is much better mannered. And I have no doubt that within the year I will be able to get him certified to become a working Therapy Dog with me! And barely a year old he's still a puppy, and he's not perfect. But he is so much better than he was, and our relationship is so much better as well! And believe me when I say that my dog is much calmer, and he does not need a treadmill! He just needed to learn boundaries, and we needed to bond! That's something that we weren't able to do with the previous training. We had such a good experience with Omega Paws, that once Maverick had come home and we saw the difference in him, we decided to have Alexx and his team train our two small dogs as well. They are both Chihuahua mixes, and or were foster fails. One is 10 years old and the other is eight years old, so they are pretty set in their ways! But we wanted to give them basically the same foundation that Maverick had so that they all had the same understanding. And while they are not quite as good as Maverick, they are definitely much improved. They definitely understand boundaries much better, and they behave better on leash! I cannot say enough about Alexx and Luis, and all of Omega Paws. I was literally on the verge of giving up, and contemplating surrendering my dog because I knew that I could not go on the way that we were. And that's a terrible feeling to have when you love a dog! Omega Paws gave me back my dog, and also self-confidence. I am so grateful to them for all they've done for my family. And I can't wait to see what my future holds with Maverick by my side! You definitely need to work with your dog each week between sessions to reinforce what was taught. Not only did our dog learn so much, we learned how to work with our dog. A very overdue review for No Bull Rehab…read more A little background on our dog, Bubba: we adopted him from the Inland Valley Humane Society after looking for a young adult dog who would fit well with our two small kids. Bubba, a 2-year-old shepherd bulldog mix, seemed perfect -- sweet, potty trained, and a staff favorite. We fell in love immediately. Once we brought him home, though, we realized he had some significant behavioral challenges. Bubba was highly reactive to other dogs and had severe separation anxiety. He was destructive when left alone and even injured himself trying to escape two metal crates. Managing his anxiety while also handling his reactivity became overwhelming for our family. I've had dogs my whole life, so at first I tried working through it on my own. Eventually, though, it became clear we needed professional help. We met with several trainers, but nothing felt like the right fit. Many approaches seemed like temporary fixes that didn't address the root causes of his behavior. When we were expecting our third child, I knew we needed a real solution, so I started researching behavior-focused board-and-train programs. After a lot of searching, I found No Bull Rehab through a rescue organization they worked with. From the very first interaction, Sarah was incredibly responsive, empathetic, and informative. That communication alone stood out immediately. We brought Bubba in for a consultation with Drew and Sarah, and after just one meeting, we knew they were the right people for him. Their ability to read and explain his behavior was such a relief. Drew is so calm and completely in tune with all things dog. We enrolled Bubba in their 8-week behavior modification board-and-train program focused on his reactivity and anxiety. Throughout the process, communication was excellent. We received regular updates and always felt informed and supported. At one point, Bubba injured his foot by puncturing in between his toe on a walk during training, and they took incredible care of him -- coordinating vet visits, follow-ups, and adjusting his training while he healed. We trusted them so much that we chose to leave him there during recovery rather than bring him home. What really made the difference was that Drew didn't just train Bubba -- he trained us. He showed us realistic, sustainable ways to structure our daily life so Bubba could feel safe, calm, and successful. Unlike other programs that required hours of daily training, No Bull's approach fit naturally into real family life. The change in Bubba has been incredible. He's still himself -- a little anxious and quirky -- but now we have the tools to manage him safely and confidently. We can walk him daily, leave him home alone, and enjoy life with him instead of constantly living on edge. Most importantly, he's happier, and so are we. Even after training, Sarah and Drew have continued to be responsive and supportive whenever we've had questions. We live in Orange County and still bring Bubba back to No Bull whenever we travel because they know and understand him so well. Living with a behaviorally challenging dog can feel isolating and exhausting, but No Bull Rehab truly changed our lives with Bubba. We're incredibly grateful for everything they've done for our family, and I cannot recommend them enough.

Roel took Bumi in and was so patient with Bumi, he and his team really worked wonders with Bumi. From when we adopted him to now, it's a night and day change. His reactivity is still present because it can't change overnight but, with Roel and his teams help, it is much much much more manageable. Nala is 11, very smart, independent, and has a strong protective streak, so she is not an easy dog to work with. Before training she was reactive toward other dogs/people/cars/bikes, selective with recall, and tended to make her own choices in stressful situations. I honestly did not expect much change at her age, but Julie proved me wrong. During the board and train, Nala became much more neutral around dogs, her recall improved, and she learned how to work calmly and confidently on the e collar. What I really appreciate is that Julie did not try to change who Nala is. She clearly understands complex, sensitive, very smart dogs and tailored the training to fit Nala instead of forcing a one size fits all method. Nala came home calmer, more responsive, more confident, and overall much easier to handle. Julie also spent a lot of time teaching me and my partner exactly what to do at home so we could keep the progress going. She walked us through the tools, the cues, how to handle Nala in different situations, and what kind of structure she needs day to day. We feel much more confident now. I can't wait to continue working with Julie on advanced obedience! I adopted my dog Chloe over a year ago who was rescued from a puppy mill in Korea. She is about 9…read moreyears old and caged most of her life so she was just re-entering the real world. Karen helped me get Chloe acclimated as she was leash reactive wanting to greet every dog we see on walks. It was important to me that Chloe was trained through a positive reinforcement approach and Karen's methods are aligned with my preference. She also taught me how to handle all her triggers, how to emergency u-turn, and suggested a type of no pull harness that was a game changer. I stayed consistent with her methods and Chloe learned very quickly. She now walks relaxed on a loose leash next to me and can learn to let go when seeing other dogs. After a year, Chloe started barking furiously nonstop in her car seat. Karen helped suggest a new car set up that instantly removed Chloe's anxiety. She now rides quietly in the backseat laying down. I also really appreciate Karen's detailed notes, links to suggested products, and next steps outlined each time after a training session. I still continue to use Karen as needed but training on different areas to help Chloe continue to thrive. We are so grateful for Karen's guidance and she is always so kind and patient with Chloe during the training sessions.
