What can I say, this program is amazing! We took our 18 month old yellow lab for the free orientation and consult and was sold by the people and amazing presentation of what could be done with our dog. We signed up for a three day over three week training class of about 8 hours per day and have been blown away by the results. She knows to heel and sit better than any dog on the block. She goes to her "place" until released, something we have never been able to do with any of our dogs. Door control and not having her rush the door and people has been a god send. Honest review. I have to say that I was sceptical about using an e-collar and also about how much a dog could truly be trained here at sit means sit. However, my scepticism no longer exists. From the moment we showed up sit means sit had nothing but patience and kindness. We voiced our worries about an e-collar and the strategies and they took their time to explain everything to us very thoughtfully. Our dog Addy was rescued from a shelter and we got her at about 4 months. We did 1 puppy class and 3 all day classes with sit means sit. In addition, they allow you to attend group classes for up to a year I believe. I will say, I went to a couple group classes and realized I didn't need them because my dog was so good. lol No lying!! I did not want a "show dog" and I did not care for my dog to do any extensive tricks. I just wanted the basics to be very good. I got exactly what I wanted. My dog Addy comes back to me on command without hesitation. Even when there are distractions like other dogs, people, or squirrels, etc... She sits at my side for as long as I need her to. On walks she will not leave my side unless I allow her to "break" and have free time. I run with her for 3-6 miles and she will stay by my side. Oh yea all of this is off leash. If I ask her to place, let's say on a park bench, she will stay there until I allow her to break from her position. We go on hikes and walks and I have zero worries. To the people concerned about an e-collar. Here is what I can tell you. Our dog is super happy and loving. I know she didn't get treated badly because when we show up to sit means sit she goes crazy and gets excited and wants to run up to the trainers. In addition, She has zero aggression and is so kind. We took our big boy, Kommo, to get trained. I will start with the cons because the list is so short. The program is extremely expensive. For us, it was over 2 grand. And that's the only con If we ever called the trainers, they came the very next day. They consistently have group training days. They offer the extra tools they use to train your dog in their shop so you can use them at home. When our collar broke, they got us a temporary one while the old one was fixed. The trainers all seem to adore their dogs to bits. To anyone saying 'e-collars are INHUMANE' please try to remember that dogs are not human beings. Their perception of pain is not the same as people. A small shock to them is like a tap on the shoulder. My Kommo's eyes lights up every time he sees me bring out his e-collar. He runs straight to me so I can put it on. There are people that also say this training is just suppression behavior and damages your dog. I would like to respond to that: Dogs do not speak english. If you tell a dog 'we will be in a populated area, please do not approach strangers', they not understand. What you do instead is encourage a behavior during a scenario and repeating that behavior until they are able to consistently associate it. Dogs learn from stability. The more you repeat events and have them maintain the same behavior, the more likely they will learn the keep that behavior in that scenario. Kommo is now very easy to take outside and barely needs his collar because he is used to being calm outside. Our husband and I are extremely proud of him. Many people now approach him but instead of being excited and overwhelming, he stays calm and lets people pet him. His recall is also AMAZING, which is vital for any emergency situations. One more point to make: our kommo is a Doberman. This breed is known to be one of the smartest of all dog breeds. They are also known to be easily trained. Some have shown the same intelligence as a four year old child. Your dog might need extra reinforcement or maybe they will not to receptive to the ecollar, and that is okay. I only wish this company had a trial period to see if how well a certain dog does with this program. Every dog is different, and though this program can help most dogs, there will always be an exception. read more

My 2 y/o, 14 lb Cavalier King Charles Spaniel has had several behavioral issues, mostly surrounding her inattentiveness, distractibility, and separation anxiety. I did a private board-and-train for 5 weeks with her several months ago and followed the instructions for her transition back home, but there was very little, if any improvement. There were specific things I had requested be worked on, such as Bailey's reactivity to trash bins, etc. I was disappointed that those things had not improved. Months later, we encountered the Sit Means Sit booth at a local dog fair. After our free consultation with Amy, and seeing her dog's behavior, we were sold. They recommended 3 days of camp. The pricetag is not cheap, but I think the total package is well worth it. After the first lesson, they taught me to use the ecollar. We then had a my fiancé's family over for lunch, including 11 adults and 3 kids age 6 and under. Bailey barked only 1 time and for the majority of the afternoon, she stayed quietly on her place, receiving pets but not getting overexcited. In comparison, prior to her training she would always go immediately to my mom's sliding glass door and lick/paw at it while whining to go outside. During the lunch, Bailey did not have any oppirtunities to sit on me or my lap but she did not cry or whine at all and appeared content. Multiple family members praised Bailey's behavior at the lunch. After daycamp #2, we learned a drill to practice when we have visitors or packages delivered.
