My husband, Corey and I, used Elevated Catering for our wedding this past May. I didn't realize I hadn't reviewed them until now. We absolutely flat-out LOVED working with Elevated. They were the best vendors we worked with - and we worked with some awesome vendors. They were incredibly communicative, responsive, professional, and fun. They knew all of the ins and outs of what to ask us about, and what to take care of themselves. They gave us such piece of mind in orchestrating much of our wedding, and they worked with us extensively to coordinate between our rentals vendor, dessert vendor and other vendors to set everything up. The price was slightly higher than other caterers we got quotes from, but it was for good reason - the "gold-standard" service they promise is no joke. In addition, the quality of the food we had was heads above those of other caterers we tried around Denver. We had a brunch buffet for the wedding, and they made sure we had food that met the dietary needs of all of our guests - vegans, vegetarians, and omnivores alike. My husband and I are big foodies, and so enjoying the food at our wedding was of the utmost importance to us. We loved it, and we got rave reviews from our guests. They still tell us that the food was one of the highlights of our day. If we ever have catering needs again, we will not look around, and instead just go to straight to Elevated. read more

I really don't even know where to begin with this review. Elevated is quite possibly the worst-managed business I have ever dealt with. My husband and I booked Elevated back in 2019 for our June 2020 wedding. They put on an excellent tasting and we were completely wowed by the food. Shortly after, we booked them and paid our 25% deposit. Then things started to go downhill. I would never wish the amount of anxiety and stress they caused us on any couple. Many of our other vendors went out of their way to be helpful, communicative, and kind during the entire planning process. Elevated did the complete opposite. I feel like, working in the wedding industry, you have to understand that most couples are spending more money on this day then they have on anything else in their lives. They also spend so much time/effort planning the day, coordinating details, and dreaming about what the day will look like. It is supposed to be one of the happiest days of their lives, so as a worker in this industry, you should be doing your absolute best to deliver the day of their dreams and ensure a smooth planning process. Elevated Catering was undoubtedly the most stressful aspect of our 3 year (thanks Covid) engagement. Our biggest complaints are the following: · LACK OF RESPONSIVENESS- Planning a wedding is tough! There are so many moving parts and you have to coordinate so many details with so many different vendors. For this reason, it is important to have a reliable point of contact. Elevated consistently took weeks and oftentimes MONTHS to respond to calls and emails. We constantly felt like we needed to hound them to get any sort of answers. · HORRIBLE SERVICE DAY OF WEDDING- They showed up with only one bartender, when we specifically asked for and were contracted for two bartenders. Many of the staff members were completely deficient in alcohol- related knowledge. For instance, one did not know the difference between Pinot Noir and Pinot Grigio. When I asked another server what kind of wine they had on a platter, they said "white". They did not make sure my now husband and I were served any appetizers. We also were not served drinks at our dinner table. We had to walk up to the bar each time, even though we specifically requested a server dedicated to the head table as well as one for the parents' table. Every wedding I've been to, wine glasses have been on the table, so that servers can easily fill guests' glasses. This did not happen. Well after we were seated, I looked at our head table only to see that not one person had a drink. Servers were using our cocktail tables (that we had set up for guests to use and mingle at) to hold dozens of glasses of wine. There were multiple crashes of dishes and wine glasses that were never properly picked up and guests got chards of glass in their feet. Stephen had a staff member's 14-year-old child working our wedding because they were so short-handed. Aside from the fact that 14 years old seems extremely young to be working a wedding event, the child was NOT TRAINED whatsoever. When we asked Stephen about this, he said "Is this ageism showing?" · NO CLEAR LEADERSHIP- Stephen Tanner, the owner, has an excuse for literally everything. Nothing is ever the business' fault. There is no clear point of contact. Occasionally he would give you the name and email of a new person of contact, but shortly after, they would leave the company and you would never be notified of the change. The website was never updated with current personnel and contact information, so you would continually reach out with no response. After our wedding day, we contacted Stephen to discuss our awful wedding day service. He told us he KNEW the head-table's server was doing a terrible job, because she was dealing with altitude sickness. We then asked why he didn't appoint someone else or come up to us and ask if we needed anything. He said there was never a "right time". He also continually blamed every one of Elevated's mishaps on everyone else. While we did have other vendors who messed up throughout the day, as a business owner, I don't think it's appropriate to follow up every complaint with an excuse such as "Oh well the DJ messed up the timeline", "The baker messed up the Crème Brule", "She had altitude sickness", "You're being ageist", " I had to pick up a 2ndjob because of COVID", "The appointment must have fallen off my calendar", "I forgot to tell you they're no longer with the company", "I did receive your email, I've just been so busy". At some point, you must be a leader and take responsibility for your actions and your horrible customer service. · LACK OF FOLLOW THROUGH- There were many appointments and meetings set up that no one ever showed up for. There were many times Stephen would say he would get something to us next day, only for days and weeks to pass by with nothing. Elevated Catering runs a very, very good business and delivered exactly what we wanted. It's clear they know what they're doing, and they do it well. -Super responsive and pleasant to work with from the beginning - Stephen worked with our tastes to figure out a menu that we wanted. -Great food at our event that matched our tasting -Great service that our guests commented positively about. Christina coordinated all of the event staff to do the right thing at the right time -Arrived with plenty of time and we didn't have to lift a finger the whole event. We really enjoyed that elevated isn't one of the "big guys", and likely handle events better than the huge companies, to boot. We feel we got better food that was designed to our tastes (vs the other companies "pick from this list of food"), paid a fair price and got stellar service. read more

Elevated catered a wedding I attended at Space Gallery and it was exceptional. They did an outside bar while the Gallery was converted from wedding seating to brunch seating. The Bloody Marys and Mimosas were excellent and the service was impeccable. The buffet brunch was amazing. Starting with a tasty salad, and fruit. Then you had frittatas, biscuits and gravy, tater tots, bacon, sausage all absolutely perfectly prepared. They also provided vegan and gluten free plates for those who needed them. I work for a local non-profit here in Denver, and was having a heck of a time finding a quality caterer that could do the foods we wanted (including vegetarian, vegan and gluten free options) for our ribbon cutting, while still coming in at least near our budget. On a suggestion from a friend who is the Executive Director of another local non-profit, I gave Elevated a call. They were fabulous - they worked with me to have delicious options, in our price range AND they hooked us up with an affordable rental place as well. They handled setting up all the tables and linens, and broke everything down at the end of the night. The food was delicious, and they continued to bring out fresh selections the whole evening. Additionally, their hot chocolate was the best I've ever had. Stephen was a joy to work with; friendly and responsive -- an event planner's most delightful dream. Our guests loved the food and hot beverages, and the best part was the dips served in actual pumpkins...which I got to take home at the end of the night. We hosted a backyard event with elegant event rentals and even had our landscaping improved. Needed this to be perfect & first searches led me to Elevated Catering. I initially thought they were too fancy & possibly too expensive, but learned that most of the other caterers have hidden fees and forced gratuity which surpassed the quote from Elevated. Elevated had the best menu based on what I requested and they totally delivered what they promised! All of the food was delicious, upscale, and beautifully presented. We did receive news that a chef would not be able to attend, but instead, an event coordinator. I was nervous and unhappy about this at first, but she did a fantastic job! So impressive all around! General manager, Stephen, was very professional and kind. He made the planning run very smoothly. We will certainly call on Elevated Catering for our next event. read more

These guys...these freaking guys...2 amazing gentlemen running an awesome business. They designed a custom menu within our budget for our wedding. From the first tasting through the the wedding day, they rocked. The customer service was solid and the food was wonderful. Our venue was also tough since there was no oven but no problem - they worked with what they had and made it perfect. The execution on the day of was beyond what I had expected. Kevin and Stephen are both fabulously nice guys and their staff was great as well. Their staff assisted with our wedding set-up and provided excellent, friendly service all evening. The guests were incredibly impressed (and stuffed full of food) and so was I. They went above and beyond to really make sure my groom and I were comfortable - making sure we got appetizers at our cocktail hour, sending home a to go box of food, etc. Side note : they did gluten free crabcakes since we had numerous gluten free guests and they were amazing! And here are just a couple of the items from the menu for those of you who love food - Chef Kevin took my vague ideas for a menu and truly 'elevated' them into something special: "Polenta Cakes with southwestern braised pork, green chili gastrique; Southwestern Crab Cake - lump crab meat, roasted corn, crisp red pepper, smoky paprika crème fraiche, gluten free preparation; Stuffed Jalapeno - jalapeño stuffed with cream cheese and wrapped in bacon; Grapefruit Salad - fresh field greens, sliced avocado, toasted pepitas, green chili vinaigrette; Colorful Potato Cups- festive Peruvian purple, Yukon gold & Garnet yam stuffed roasted potato cups; Drunken Bison Kabob - Avery Out of Bounds Stout marinade, tri color bell pepper, Stranahan's Colorado Whiskey glaze; South American Beef Kabob - cumin scented tender beef, cherry tomato, red onion, Chef Kevin's chimichurri sauce." Elevated Catering was worth every penny and then some. They provided me peace of mind, excellent service and food that is to die for. Was in the process of planning a wedding and contacted Stephen about the details, he visited us at home and was very polite and on point through planning of the meal and such and I thought we were in good hands, after weeks of emails with no follow up, I get a response that there was a family issue and would be back to us soon. We just finished a wonderful 18-guest luncheon that was catered by Elevated Catering. Everything was perfect. The food - including wassail; Moroccan chicken; stuffed portobello mushrooms (which our vegan colleagues loved); and perfectly cooked veges - was delicious. They set up the entire lunch (including warming dishes, plates, glasses and flatware) and provided a gracious server (Jeff) during the affair. I've worked with EC through local nonprofits, and for my commitment ceremony. I cannot recommend them enough. For our ceremony, they crafted a great menu based on our love of local food. They worked with our lengthy list of food allergies, as well as the special food needs of our guests (kids and vegans alike!). When our guest list increased almost 20%, they rolled with us and made the whole night a great success. Stephen helped us calculate our dessert order, make a wonderful (dairy free) ice cream sundae bar, and worked with me to plan our bar order. Their staff was friendly, and their food was beautiful. They design beautiful custom menus based on the budget you have available. They help make the event run smoothly, and are willing to be flexible on the fly. Looks like this is the first review for Elevated Catering so let me start by saying i am NOT employed by EC or have any reason to to write this other than the fact that I have been totally wowed by their catering company. 5 stars across the board. My fiance and I are in the midst of planning our wedding and EC was the first, and last, caterer we called. We haven't even had our wedding yet but because we have been so blown away by their service and professionalism combined with their level of quality and price I felt the need to write a review. My fiance and are both professionals in the restaurant industry and have ridiculously high standards on both food quality and service and both Stephen and Chef Kevin have exceeded our expectations at just about every opportunity. As far as value goes I spent days shopping around for caterers for our wedding checking out websites etc before I called anyone and hands down EC was by far the best quality to cost ratio, nobody even came close. Even the most expensive caterers I found didn't match the food quality EC was able to put out and EC was WAY better than those in the same price range. Like I said, we haven't even had our wedding yet but my Fiance and I are so ridiculously happy we found EC. Because of Stephen's professionalism and comprehensive knowledge of what it takes to throw an event withing a given budget it has made the whole process of planning a wedding so much easier and enjoyable. These guys are a dream to work with. We hired Elevated to cater our wedding on Thursday. At first, I was a bit skeptical as they were priced higher than other caterers we had reviewed. After working with them for our event and having their food, I definitely feel the additional cost is well worth it. They talked with us at every major check point up to the wedding to make sure we were all on the same page. The day of the event, they took over and created a reception area beyond expectations. On top of it all, the entire staff was friendly, professional, accommodating, and just fantastic. Stephen even picked up my cake and helped arrange drop off and return of our alcohol purchase. I received so many compliments from my guests at the wedding about the enitre staff the day of, so I know they weren't just putting on a show for me and my husband. We also received many compliments on the food. We went with a buffet style menu. The food was just as good if not better than at the trial. They made sure that all the flavors paired well and that the presentation was still plated quality. I couldn't recommend this company more. You're right Yelp, this is as good as it gets. If you want an amazing, competent team of professionals to design the perfect menu and ambiance for your event you must speak with Elevated Catering. Going through the process of finding a caterer was an interesting experience. I essentially gave my likes/dislikes and overall goal for the food at my wedding to three vendors: fresh foods, healthy, locally sourced when possible, unique flavors with an interest in incorporating Indian spices/cuisine into the mix. The responses I got from the two other companies were almost laughable, the typical American fare: burger bar, pizza bar, taco bar, OH BOY! This was my wedding, not a family picnic, I wanted to take it up a notch since this was the area I was spending most of my money. I wanted my guests to have an amazing experience and be wowed by the food. Elevated did this without blinking. It's just what they do. Their menu was incredible and incorporated everything we could ever have dreamed of. They started with this wonderful raspberry/thyme lemonade shaker to be passed around as guests arrived at the reception, along with wine, so good for an August event! The hors d'oeuvres, OMG the hors d'oeuvres! Pho wraps, watermelon/feta skewers, and seared ahi tuna were all to die for. Last but not least - as far as the food goes - the buffet for dinner was incredible. Moroccan chicken skewers, Rocky Mountain paella with trout/local sausage/and pheasant, a harvest veggie platter, and of course a delicious array of cheeses. What I appreciated most about working with Elevated, Adrian in particular, was how on top of everything she was. I did not have a wedding planner because I'd planned/designed/created the entire day myself, without wedding wire/pinterest, but definitely lots of googling. She had check lists and asked questions that really helped me know what was missing, but in such a professional, non-patronizing way. Number one kudos to Adrian is her suggestion that we should have a sweetheart table for my groom and me. Adrian said, "You two will sit and we'll bring you your food. You have to eat." Um, YES! There was no way that I was going to miss this food and after hearing time and time again how many brides don't actually eat at their own wedding, I was touched and impressed with her attention to that detail. Did I mention that they made me the popsicles that had popped into my head during an early morning brain storm? I wanted popsicles at my wedding ceremony site as people arrived and emailed Adrian and Kevin, "This may be crazy, but what do you think about creating some "adult popsicles" to be handed out as people get to the park/wedding site?" They were all over it! I suggested my ideas for flavors and they hit the nails on the head! Chocolate Porter Fudgicles were incredible and we also had a raspberry mimosa and a strawberry limeade. Everyone loved them! Kevin used a Boulder Chocolate Porter, cooked it down to create the delicious porter flavor and we tried them at our tasting. Amazing. Of course, there wasn't really alcohol in them, but the flavors were spot on. Let me touch on another major kudos I have to give Elevated. Mind you the place I had my reception went through FOUR different event managers over the course of the 10 months leading up to our wedding. You know what, I didn't stress at all. You know why? I had the utmost confidence in the team at Elevated and didn't think anything of it. At the walk through THREE of the team members from Elevated who would be there at my wedding were there: Kevin the amazing chef, Adrian the event manager extraordinaire, and the serving staff captain (I am so sorry I am spacing his name!) They all showed up to support me and my wedding and even though I recognize that's "part of the job" it meant a lot to me. Does your reception space not have a kitchen? No problem! They set one up on site and everything is cooked right there. That's HUGE in my book. I've been to too many weddings with buffets on those gross jelly burners. They made sure to highlight that they would only put out enough food for 10-15 people at a time, rotating platters so that no one was getting the "left overs", another huge plus when you're spending good money on good food. Presentation is everything. I can't really say enough good things about this company. They do as much as they can to keep their food local, they provide seasonal menus, and treat their clients with the utmost respect. My wedding wouldn't have been as amazing without their help. I hosted a 50th birthday party for my husband this weekend - It was the least stressful event I have ever hosted because of the wonderful talent of Elevated Catering. Jake took the time on our initial phone call, asking the right questions, in order for him to come up with the perfect menu right off the bat. He coordinated the cake and the alcohol purchase with Argonaut to make the whole experience seamless for me. The staff was fantastic, engaging with the guests in a natural and fun way. And the food - excellent! I had so many of the guests comment on how delicious everything was - I highly recommend the man candy! I didn't even know a catering company had the ability to be this good. We had a 50-70 person event planned, fairly short notice. We connected with Elevated Catering through a referral. They were honestly far more expensive than what we had planned, but we just had no idea what we were in for. Firstly, we were personally connected to Stephen, their head of business accounts and creative genius. With a gentle, friendly demeanor and a patient and motivated creativity, dressed (mischievously) as just a regular person, he carefully crafted our vision. We had plenty of ideas and he used them, shaped them, and made them into something spectacular. At this point I just got out of Stephen's way. Clearly, he knew what he was doing and I just let him do it. He used our office decor as a basis for coloring and ideas. It was the CEO's birthday celebration along with our office open house and they created a surprise cake made in the shape of part of one of the CEO's favorite paintings!!! :-O I was floored. Then, their was Kevin, their head chef. Kevin created a menu specifically around the vision of our company as a basis for his original creations. Each appetizer was crafted with a title, a blend of phenomenal tastes and ingredients, and a presentations, that quite literally, made our event. They worked with the linen and table company and got just what we needed. No more. No less. They brought in a crew that set up, broke down and did nothing but make sure everyone had everything they needed. Spotless. Professional. Zero Waste! I doubt I would ever think of ever using anyone else again. So THAT'S why they cost more. Honestly, they were worth far more than we payed the. What's more, is I felt, as the companies party coordinator, I got an education from them. They gave us so much time, responded to questions usually within a couple of hours. They were outstanding. I realize I am gushing and raving about them and I feel like I should say something bad, just a little, lest some readers think I'm kidding, not real, or paid, but I'd be lying. I can't think of anything I can even say..."well, they were great but..." I can't. They were phenomenal. They weren't just a caterer. Not only did Elevated Catering come to my rescue, they went above and beyond the call of duty to help me pull it together at the last minute. We had a really wonderful experience working with the entire team at Elevated Catering for our wedding in July. After many tastings at highly rated catering companies in the Denver area, Elevated had the best food & best prices by far! The other catering companies we tried tasted like catered food, but elevated tasted like very high quality restaurant food. The chefs are amazing and completely customized our menu to fit our needs and suggested great ideas. We also met the head chef, Kevin, and owner Stephen at the tasting which was great to speak with them about the services they provide, and we could tell that they were going to personally take great care of us for our wedding. We liked how it's a smaller catering company, so you aren't just another catering order- they are very invested and personal from the start to finish. Working with their sales manager, Adrian, was also really great. I asked so many questions, made many changes along the way, and I am very detail oriented, and she always got back to me right away with answers and professionalism. Wonderful communication with Adrian and the owner Stephen. Adrian also helped coordinate with alcohol ordering and all the rentals we needed to order which was a huge help!! Then the wedding day came. You have some jitters with all the vendors coming together, but I did not have any worries with the catering. Elevated delivered better than I had expected with great servers and bar tender for service. The food was OUTSTANDING. We had 4 different hor's doeuvres, a plated salad, and plated salmon and steak for dinner and everything was so delicious!! When I looked around after dinner, ALL the food on the plates was gone. Elevated catered our wedding, and they were AMAZING. From the beginning stages of making us feel welcome and spoiled to the actual event, Jake and Chef Kevin were simply the best. Jake was always accessible, and he even covered things that we had overlooked. As for the day of the wedding, he made the event seamless; we didn't have to worry about anything...and let me tell you, that is an especially great feeling on a day when you want everything to run smoothly. Chef Kevin, likewise, was fantastic. We had an idea of what we wanted: Colorado through and through without being cliché. Kevin nailed it. We even challenged him at the last minute with an idea that was a bit outside of our vision of "Colorado only;" we asked him to add tamales, as authentic as possible, but as an appetizer. Yes, think mini-tamale. He did it like a B.O.S.S. This was no easy task as my wife and her family are Mexican-American, but Kevin loved the idea and his final product nearly made us cry because of its perfection! From the moment we met the Elevated team, we knew we were in great hands. We recommend them to everyone we meet, whether it is their own wedding planning, a work event, or a holiday party. These guys are the best at what they do. The food was stunning, even to the standards of all the chefs in our midst. Presentation beautiful, and they even found the greenest serving options to meet my strict budget. Being from a small down I didn't really have that much experience with working with caterers which was fine because Brian my fiance at the time works a lot with them. One of the first things that he told me when we were planning our wedding was that Elevated Catering are his favorite caterers and that he wanted them to cater our reception. After trying their food and planning out the menu with them, I could easily see why. They were very excited to work with us and went right to work on the menu for our theme. Their communication was excellent, their staff was very friendly and seemed to enjoy their job which is always refreshing to see, both Stephen and Kevin were at the reception talking everything and making everyone was happy and enjoying the food. Everything that they cooked for us was delicious and all but the dinner rolls were gluten free. I'd recommend Elevated Catering to anyone who's planning to get married or having any kind of event. Can I please give 10 stars?! Please hire Elevated Catering for your special occasion! They catered our wedding this weekend in Lyons, and it was better than I dreamed! Stephen went out of his way during the entire process to make sure we had the wedding of our dreams - coordinating cakes and kegs, delivering items that were totally not their responsibility, creating custom cocktails and even coordinating our rentals! He truly went above and beyond and made our day absolutely fabulous. I decided to use Elevated Catering after my initial phone call with Stephen as he was the only caterer who seemed interested in the atmosphere I wanted to create for our wedding - what it would look like, feel like and taste like. He got me excited about my event, where other companies were merely interested in budgets. He and Kevin delivered on everything they promised, and the food (steak and salmon, and a delicious vegetarian dish) were incredible! Their hired staff did an incredible job and were delightful! Fantastic company, great food, superb customer service. Elevated catered our wedding and they were amazing. We worked with Jake and Stephen and they were beyond professional. They were responsive when we had questions, came to meetings with the wedding planner and visited the venue on multiple occasions, and of course designed a creative menu that everyone loved! Just had our tasting today with Elevated for our wedding in August. They were wonderful. We drove up to a chalkboard sign welcoming us...so sweet... And both owners, the head chef amongst others were all there to greet us and talk us through the amazing menu they created for us. The food was so delicious... They even sent us home with 2 huge to-go boxes so we could further enjoy our decision. Everything was completely customized... Every flavorful ingredient. Can I just say that our 'elevated taco bar' will include 'cocoa & Pasilla rubbed pulled pork shoulder with ancho chili jam, citrus marinated grilled shrimp with Anaheim creme fraiche & macque choux' are you friggin kidding me??!! ...& I can assure you- for the second time today- that is as delicious as it sounds. We stumbled upon Stephen and Kevin just this past week and used them to cater the grand opening of our medical practice. They came out ahead of time to talk with us and survey the area to allow them to plan for the event. On the day of the opening they showed up plenty early to allow them to set up well in advance of people arriving. They presented themselves professionally, were very knowledgeable about the food and wine and most importantly were attentive and respectful to our guests. We had many great comments and were pleasantly surprised at what they added to our event. They made it easy for us, were reasonably priced, cleaned up after themselves and were truly the frosting on the cake for us. Elevated catered a dinner on Christmas Eve for us on very short notice. It was a wonderful experience and I can't give them enough praise for the wonderful menu, attentive planning and communication, thoughtful touches, and stellar service they provided. It was one of the most enjoyable family dinners we have ever had. Everyone loved the food, even some die hard veggie haters were converted by the vegan squash soup! Steven personally worked with me and took my somewhat vague description of the type of meal we wanted and presented us with a dinner menu that needed almost no tweaking. He was very intuitive and came in right on the mark. Elevated was very accommodating with some dietary restrictions we had as well. They came to our home, prepared the meal in our kitchen, served it family style, and to top it of they cleaned the entire kitchen and all the dishes before they left! The service of the dinner was friendly but unobtrusive. Elevated was out of this world and delivered so much more than any other caterer in the Denver area was willing to do for us and all on incredible short notice on Christmas Eve! In comparison, other caterers I contacted were either too big for our size of dinner with exorbitant minimums that couldn't possible be met with a 12 person dinner party or their menu ideas were unoriginal and sounded too generic for the price we would be paying. Elevated was the only company that offered a truly unique and gourmet menu that was commensurate with the cost of an in home catered dinner. Without any reservations, I am sure that they will provide the same great service to any customer whether very small like our family dinner or very large like a wedding or event dinner.
