Unfortunately, that was not the case. I arrived early, but wasn't called back until 20 minutes past my appointment time. After the X-rays (I think her name was Lola who was wonderful--professional and patient), I sat in the chair for well over an hour. When the doctor finally arrived, I was told my teeth looked good with minimal buildup, yet they presented a $1,500 treatment plan filled with 'add-ons' like laser treatments and cavity preventatives. As someone who brushes and flosses daily, I was shocked. When I declined the extras and requested just the standard cleaning my insurance covers, the doctor became visually irritated. I was then told they 'couldn't' do a basic cleaning without a $200 deep cleaning first. It feels like this office is more interested in upselling than patient care. Unfortunately, they'll still collect the insurance money for the X-rays, but they've lost a patient for life. I asked them to email my X-rays and documents they did collect so I can take it to a better dentist and they didn't... I have always been on top of all my dental visits, check-ups, X-Rays and cleanings (3x/year). Come the appointment for cleaning, the hygienist comes in hot and tells me I have major issues with my gums and need to have a deep cleaning ($140 OOP) and laser gum treatment ($400 OOP) then maintain deep cleanings every 2-3 years with routine cleaning every 3 months because of my "advanced gum deterioration" keep in mind my other dental office with routine check-ups and X-rays never found anything wrong nor have I felt anything out of the ordinary. I asked her to just perform routine cleaning and she refused stating that there is no point to doing that and only a deep cleaning and/or laser gum treatment is what is recommended, I was stuck in the moment and the chair I said go ahead and deep clean it. Also note, the only time I ever did a real deep cleaning it was done in two visits with 2 quadrants cleaned at a time, she cranked it out everything so fast so it was basically a normal messy cleaning labeled and charged as a deep clean. After the cleaning I consulted a few hygienist friends I have and got their opinion, a deep cleaning is pretty extreme and almost unnecessary if you've already had one and maintain good hygiene and regular check-ups/cleanings and they all pretty much summed up how some clinics will absolutely be sales driven and up-sell or recommend unnecessary procedures to rack up the bill. I'm going back to my old dental office and paying out of pocket, I had no idea there's a dark side to this industry and it showed here. The whole process did not feel right at all, it was rushed, sales pitch was fast, filled with strong buzz words and fabricated urgency like a used car lot or old gym memberships. I should have just left and went for a second opinion at another office.

Made me very happy that they would go into great detail from my comfort level. As the oral surgery was happening. The Dr and the team gave me such uplifting words. Instead, a different dentist advised that the crown did not fit and stated she would not continue treatment because another dentist had prepared the tooth. * June 21, 2026: The original dentist informed me the crown could not be used and that the procedure would have to be repeated. I left wearing the temporary crown. * June 26, 2026: I received a call informing me that my appointment had been canceled because the dentist did not want to treat me and that I would need to wait for the original dentist. After contacting the office and requesting that any qualified dentist complete my treatment, I was eventually seen. My tooth was re-prepared, and new impressions were taken. * June 28, 2026: My next appointment was rescheduled because the original dentist was unavailable. * July 10, 2026: My appointment was canceled again because the dentist was sick. * July 12, 2026: When attempting to keep my appointment, the scheduler initially told me she did not want to schedule me because the treating dentist might refuse to place the crown since he had not prepared the tooth. I insisted on keeping my appointment despite being told there was a possibility I would not receive my crown. Fortunately, the dentist evaluated the case and successfully placed the permanent crown that day.

I was told nerve pain would be normal for around a month and unfortunately I got dry socket, maybe my fault not sure... They hit my nerve put a temp filling in once the numbness went away I went so much pain! I couldn't sleep I couldn't close my mouth they didn't give any medicine. When I called the next morning they couldn't squeeze me in to fix the pain and issues they caused! My husband comes to San Dimas family dentistry and highly recommended them. I called was a new patient and they were able to get me in same day, take care of the root canal and do the temp crown all in the same day. My pain was wrong. The dr was gentle explained what was happening through out the way. Him and his staff are very honest and explain everything. Being able to be seen as a new patient and have so much work done the same day meant so much when the dentist I've been going to couldn't even do that. I will no longer be going back to them and sticking to San Dimas Family Dentistry. I highly recommend them and promise you won't be disappointed.
