My experience with this Dr. and office took place in 2018. Writing this review now as it appears my initial review was taken down and I was recently given a diagnosis for a notable congenital heart issue Dr. Gang missed entirely. The Mayo Clinic found it with a simple ECHO this past week and can also see where this office/doctor failed to identify it in my records. So now I think it's especially important to call out how dismissive and neglectful this office was with my care. A technician was horribly nasty to me when I was unable to control my heart rate due to a dye reaction during testing - a lack of medical awareness/empathy I'd not experienced before or since - I was punished for my recognition of it. Dr. Gang never followed up with me afterwards to go over the results, his office wouldn't respond to my inquiries. In hindsight, knowing what I now know, I am stunned by their all around lack of professionalism. read more

For decades I had irregular heart beat. Four very well known and qualified board certified cardiologists deemed that it was just arrhythmia. Dr. Gang was very methodical, first place a loop recorder which detects the heart beat 24 hours. He was also extremely diligent and actually looked at the data when I was lying on my bed, holding the hands of my wife and daughter and ready to "leave". He called me and told me that my heart stopped beating for two minutes and told me that he could have Cedars Sinai to receive me with an articificial pace maker. As it turned out, I needed a pace maker desperatly AND did and still do Atril Fib. He adjusted the dose to compensate the Atrial Fib but set the pace maker at 65 as a safe limit for dying from low pulse. I am very lucky to have him as my cardiologist. Grateful too. naturally! It is easy to research Dr. Gang's expertise as a renowned cardiologist. Just ask any physician at Cedars. However, it is only by working with Dr. Gang, in order to improve one's quality of life, that reveal this extraordinary individual. I continue to be treated for atrial fibrillation, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, and presently now have an Implantable Cardioverter-Defibrillator. These heart issues continue to be a challenging and emotional part of my life. Dr. Gang understands the emotionality and impact of the doctor-patient relationship, as exemplified by his compassion, energy, loyalty and commitment to making my life better. Let me give a few examples of how my experience with Dr. Gang, is so much different than my experiences with other physicians. 1. Dr. Gang is accessible. This does not mean that every time I call Dr. Gang, he picks up his phone. However, he personally returns phone calls or responds to my text. How a renowned cardiologist has the time to provide such commitment to his patients can only be answered by the following : "He finds the time". It is not even unusual to receive a call from Dr. Gang on a weekend, or when most doctors have left the office. 2. Several years ago, Dr. Gang told me about another cardiologist, who practiced out of State, and specialized in the treatment of atrial fibrillation. Dr. Gang thought that a procedure by this specialist would improve my quality of life. Not only did Dr. Gang set up this out of State procedure, but Dr. Gang was present at the operation, working together with his colleague, to improve my life. I have not experienced this level of commitment, compassion and loyalty from any other physician; EVER. Over the years, I have learned that many of my heart related issues do not have exact answers. Everything is not black or white. Most issues are in the grey, and require trial and error. This requires a deep and continued commitment by Dr. Gang. It is only by his continued communication and deep loyalty, that I experience the quality of life that I have today. This is the human side of medicine. read more

Dr. Gang and his team were the best thing that happened to me and my husband! My husband was diagnosed with Supraventricular Tachycardia a couple of years ago and his heart beat would go from 70bpm to 220bpm in 1 second. It was a nightmare all the trips to the ER not knowing if he would get out of there alive! Then I found Doctor Gang on Yelp and after the great reviews I decided to make an appointment for my husband. I was very pleased about the way Dr. Gang explained everything that was happening and also told us that there was a way to get rid of this by a surgical procedure, called ablation. We were scared at first, but we trusted Dr. Gang and his team completely. After a few weeks my husband went through the surgical procedure and it is fine now! It's been 7 months now and no more SVT! He is back to normal as nothing ever happened to him! I just wanna say THANK YOU to Dr. Gang for everything, for being this amazing Doctor and human being! Absolutely great! You couldn't ask for a better cardiologist/electrophysiologist. I love the guy. He listens to you and figures out a solution to your problem. Mine was a debilitatingly painful pacemaker that an in-house hospital cardiologist implanted in me 8 months ago. Dr Gang solved my problem by reimplanting my pacemaker underneath my pec muscle and away from my shoulder. It doesn't hurt at all now and I can go back to working out. read more

My husband had an ablation performed by Dr. Gang. Not only is he an extremely nice person, he is such a great doctor and true to his word. After an overnight stay at the hospital he promised my husband to get him out early the next day (even though Dr. Gang had the day off). Just as the nurse was explaining to my husband that he would have to wait until that afternoon for the on call doctor to release him...Dr. Gang called our nurse and released him at 9am! I'm shocked that there is no review for this doctor. I haven't been feeling well. Been sick over a week now and I have an implanted loop recorder that records my heart rhythm. Over the week it sent a transmission to the device company who sends it to my doctor. I usually see Dr Sweedlow but he was out of town. Candice his assistant called me to schedule me an appointment to be seen to make sure everything was ok. She is a sweetheart. I came in to see Dr Eli Gang and he shook my hand and said it was not the first time he met me. Apparently last year when I had a traumatic event and was at Cedar Sinai for awhile he had came to visit me, so he already knows my history. I was just in a coma so was not awake to remember him. We talked for a bit. He took his time to listen to me and give me advice. He was extremely friendly and nice. Like Dr Swerdlow Dr Gang takes his time to really listen. He has managed my complex condition and multiple procedures with expert care, attentiveness, and a welcome sense of humor. I have been seeing Dr. Gang for almost 20 years. I have been the recipient of three pacemakers and I cannot speak highly enough about the professional and caring experience that I have been so fortunate to receive under the care of Dr. Gang and his staff (Armando, Candace). (And he has a great sense of humor) It is not an exaggeration to say he has saved my life on more than one occasion. Because of his ability to listen and truly care about my health, he recently set me up for a heart scan that revealed blockage and coordinated my subsequent treatment with another interventionist (Dr Samuels-also amazing) in the CVMG group. As I have told them in person, it is because of their good care that I have lived to run and play with my eleven grandchildren. I live in the San Fernando Valley and yet it is worth it to drive the 405 Fwy because I have enjoyed such excellent care. I often feel like the luckiest patient in the world. I don't know if the doctors at CVMG realize it but from my vantage point they are truly miracle workers and I thank God everyday for their dedication to excellence. read more
