I've had consistently good experiences getting my hair cut and beard trimmed in Eliana's shop. I've visited on at least 4 occasions, have always been greeted warmly, and received a cut I felt good about. I don't get my haircut very often, so it was important coming to Amherst to find someone who can consistently do a clean cut which grows out nice. I first found Eliana back in September at her old location, loved the cut, and just went today to her new and improved spot for a second cut. Both times the hair cut was fantastic, and her new location has a neat hangout feel to it, nevermind her lil black lab doggo, Captain. 5/5 , fantastic service, nice lady, awesome dog. I got a semblance of cold service. I called her on the phone and received a somewhat cold response. No warmness or hospitality or even an accommodating vibe. it was like I was wasting her time. I was quite let down as this call left me feeling a little worn. She somewhat snapped at me when I asked how many barbers there were. I was even going to ask if they cut black hair but decided not to. I have never been to the place but from the service i received on the phone I can't imagine what the actual place would be like. This is truly and utterly the worst barbershop I have ever been to in my life. The women in there have no right to call themselves barbers after the haircut I received. I have felt embarrassed not having my head covered more than a month after receiving a haircut from this shameful establishment. The woman who cut my hair probably had never touched afro style hair (4c) In her life and I'm ashamed of myself for not stopping her from proceeding with the haircut. All I asked was for my hair to be evenly cut all around and she some how messed it up, she knicked the front of my hair and I now have a bald spot, the sides are longer then the top, she did not rub alcohol after she finished my haircut and if I did not take care of it myself afterwards id be left with razor bumps all over my neck. I truly could've gotten a better haircut doing it myself in the bathroom. STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND especially to African American men looking to get a haircut in the area you are better off anywhere else but here. read more

I have been fortunate to have Eliana as a barber for more than 10 years (since before she had her own shop). She is pleasant, attentive, reasonable priced, but most of all a great barber who listens and gets it right. She is clearly the best choice in the Amherst area. Try the food next door too! read more

Being a black man, I've realized they definitely have a lot of learning to do. Barbers should be a master of all hair types not just only white hair. I was kind enough to give the blonde lady a tip, but looking at my hair now, I regret even going. No hard feelings just wanted other black men to know. read more

When I walked into this shop I was immediately greeted by Eliana's puppy, Captain. He's a cute lil dude and you can catch him if you get a morning haircut; I highly recommend it. Eliana is a lovely lady and my haircut with her was an excellent experience. I will definitely come back. read more
