There are a plethora of dentists from which to choose, but our family chose Dr. Gilbert 26 years ago and has never regretted it! We feel like we're going to visit friends who clean, polish, and, when necessary, fix our teeth! I have a tooth with a shape anomaly that we affectionately refer to as my "corn tooth" since the resin filling in it starts to turn a bit yellow after ten years or so. Dr. Gilbert did such a great job on in it 12 years ago that I only recently felt it needed a revision. He offered me the laser option this time, and being a pain-weenie, I was a little hesitant. Well, I'm not anymore! It was completely painless! No shots, no bleeding, no nothing except for a really nice repair! The worst part of it is the thing they put in your mouth to hold it open (bring some chapstick or lip moisturizer for that one) and the typical icky smells of having an old filling removed and a new one put in - which would've been present if he'd fixed it the conventional way. No big deal at all! For decades, I've been so fastidious about making sure my teeth are clean so that I can avoid the pain of shots and fillings. I have a hatred for shots based upon a fear of pain! But it's like Dr. Gilbert is trying to so assuage that fear that I'm thinking about coasting a bit. How cool is it that I can blame my dentist for slacking on my dental hygiene! In today's world, one hears about Dental Implants and all the horror stories associated with them. I have done a lot of reading about them on the internet and talking to friends. Bottom-line, it all starts with being under the care of a great dentist. And I found one with Dr. Elias C. Almaz, in Granite Bay. I have been going to have my teeth taken care of for the past 64 years since age 18, when I joined the USAF. Many of dentist have looked and worked in my mouth. But the best has been Dr. Almaz and his team at Boardwalk Dentistry. My recent single lower molar dental implant went so smoothly I had no idea it was ever installed. From the initial consultation with Dr. Almaz I knew exactly what to expect. He clearly explained the whole procedure. And when he installed the "implant post" it went so smoothly I did not even know when he was finished. Did not feel a thing. It has been a month now since I had the final crown installed and that process was outstanding. He made the new crown fit so perfectly I do not know it is even there in my mouth. Excellent bite. Here I am at 82 years old and able to now enjoy eating a steak and other meats. Should have had this done years ago. I am very fortunate to have found Dr. Almaz and his team. read more

Don't fall for their complimentary consultation. If they don't have updated records/x-rays, they'll take them there and bill your insurance without preauthorization. My husband came here because he had been a patient back in 2012. We since moved out of the area, but he's had so many issues with his mouth (root canals, crowns etc...) he needed to find someone he could trust again. Unfortunately it looks like Dr. Gilbert will not be our dentist of choice since we received a surprise bill for $132! And he didn't even have a cleaning or any work done on his mouth. Also, don't fall for all the good review, they use a software that directs all negative reviews to a private message to their front office. He really is the absolute kindest person, perfect if you have any hesitation with dental procedures. He always listens to your concerns and is very thorough in explaining all procedures and options. Truly an experience like any other! I called and spoke to their team about us being new to the area and how our children were still unsure about the dentist and their team. My family has been going to Dr. Almaz and Dr. Gilbert since we moved here in 2006 and have had nothing but excellent service. My daughter who lives in Anaheim now still comes home for her annual exams since these are dentists she trusts. Most recently, I had severe tooth pain that started on Christmas Eve. I called the office the day after Christmas and used the cell number provided and left a message for Dr. Gilbert. I wasn't expecting a call back right away since they were closed, but 5 minutes later he called and we were able to take care of the problem until the office opened the following week. I went to the dentist and had a cavity resolved - blah,blah,blah. I don't think so, I went to Dr. Gilbert, my awesome dentist of over 30 years, and he restored my tooth with the latest technology and absolute precision. No shots, no drilling, just a laser, perfectly color matched filling, and a quick polish. Wow - it was amazing!!! Go eat a lot of candy, just so you can experience the care and technology - hahaha. I think it's now time to ditch words like 'cavity' & 'decay', and let's just go with 'tooth fortification' or 'laser enhanced anti-aging'. Two days ago, I felt something on a tooth like a crack. Being new to the area, I felt I better have it checked out by a local dentist and google searched for one who had a 5-star rating. Dr. William Gilbert was the closest, so I phoned for an appointment. I was told that his associate, Dr. Elias Almaz, could see me today, so I booked an appointment. Just before leaving for my appointment, a filling in the tooth fell out, so I was glad to be seeing a dentist right away. The staff greeted me on arrival, and Dr. Gilbert made a point of introducing himself and Dr. Almaz. His friendly welcome relieved me of some stress about dental work. It turned out that I needed a crown, so I opted to have Dr. Almaz do the work at today's appointment. I have had dental work in the past and have the usual fears about experiencing pain. Dr. Almaz suggested something to deaden the tooth before we began. I was offered a movie to watch while the work was being done. Two hours later, after some drilling to remove any decay, a little more drilling to prepare for the crown, filling the tooth, and fitting the temporary crown, I was done. Dr. Almaz had kept me informed of what he was doing through the procedure, and I felt NO pain! (Did I mention that I had NO pain medication for the procedure?) Dr. Almaz is an outstanding dentist, and I feel greatly relieved that he is close by in Granite Bay if I need any future dentistry. Highly recommend!! read more

I am new to the area. I wanted to find a dentist that was not corporate owned. My former non corporate dentist referred me to Dr. Gilbert. I am beyond pleased. He has a very professional staff, including receptionist, assistants and dental hygienists. A very calming and beautifully appointed office. Best of all, state of the art equipment. Had a problem with my corporate type dentist/dental office....seemed each time they needed money for someone's vacation or college tuition I needed additional dental work. Then another problem, pain in a tooth that office had "fixed" about a year earlier. Sharing my unhappiness with a friend elicited a personal recommendation...his dentist, Dr. Gilbert. Before making an appointment, I did my due diligence, read reviews and was very skeptical...no one is as good as reviews this high reflect, he has a lot to live up to based upon these. Made my appointment and found reason to justify establishing a yelp six star rating. He found and repaired a serious error my original dentist had made and shared I needed a small filling (noteworthy news as my prior dentist had declared I needed two new crowns). Other reviews are spot on...friendliness of the office, professional knowledge of the staff, up to date technology and absolutely personal care and caring. I have the worst dental phobia ever. I have gone years in between visits, will gag at the slightest touch, and hold my breath while gripping the chair the entire visit. I have been to dentists that try to sell services, billed my insurance ridiculous fees, and have caved to having services performed that weren't necessary. Dr. Gilbert is the only dentist I have been to that puts me at ease. He runs his practice in the most ethical way possible, and his staff are gentle and caring. I've never had any surprise bills and no one has ever tried to sell me services that I don't need; in fact, no one has ever tried to sell me anything. I have three young children and have tried to reschedule numerous times and they are incredibly patient with me.
