I politely asked whether I could be seen afterward, especially since it was the last appointment of the day, but my request was denied. I was repeatedly told only that it was "policy." I understand the importance of schedules and clinic flow. I also understand that healthcare requires judgment, flexibility, and compassion when circumstances allow. In my experience, many providers would have tried to accommodate a patient who was only a few minutes late to an initial appointment, particularly in a women's wellness and mental health practice caring for postpartum mothers. I left the office in tears. Instead of feeling supported in seeking care for myself, I felt dismissed and unseen. Policies are important, but so are humanity, compassion, and clinical judgment. He is clearly an anti-vaxxer - when I asked him his recommendations about when to receive shots during the pregnancy, he simply said it was up to me (gave no recommendation) and then joked that he had lost admitting privileges at Cedars-Sinai during COVID because he would not get vaccinated. Later in my appointment, when I attempted to discuss medical concerns I had with my pregnancy, he was incredibly dismissive of my situation (my husband felt the same way too). I left my appointment with Dr. Bruksch with the distinct feeling that he saw me as a stupid young woman he had no time for. Contrasting his behavior with the amazing care I received at my new clinic just further showed me how poor his treatment was. - I have had numerous billing issues. When I did my genetic testing via Natera, they correctly billed it for myself but incorrectly billed it for my husband (they checked the wrong box), leading us to get a bill for thousands of dollars that should have been $250. Luckily, I was able to correct the issue on my end, but it took a lot of time on the phone with Natera that shouldn't have needed to happen if it had been submitted correctly. Additionally, their billing employee is incredibly rude and combative in a way that I've never experienced before. Pretty wild behavior. For regular check-ups, this place is likely fine. But for higher levels of care, I would recommend going elsewhere.
