I cannot say enough wonderful things about Dr. Tiphany Jackson Johnson. If I could give her a million stars, I would. She is compassionate, patient, understanding, warm, reassuring, and genuinely human. Her bedside manner is exceptional. Finding a new menopause specialist was very important to me after my longtime hormone specialist passed away. I needed someone knowledgeable about menopause and hormone therapy, but also someone who would actually listen and understand my concerns. Dr. Jackson Johnson was exactly that physician. I do want to be honest about the process of getting the appointment, because the outsourced scheduling service was absolutely horrendous. It took weeks and multiple attempts to get through. The AI answering service took several messages from me requesting a call back, and I never received one. When I finally reached actual representatives, I encountered confusion, misinformation, and extremely frustrating communication. One representative told me I would need to stop my current hormone treatment because they only used a particular pellet system. Another representative repeatedly insisted I was trying to schedule with a surgeon, even though I explained that I simply wanted to see a physician knowledgeable about menopause. He even told me that every doctor is a surgeon. I was also asked unnecessary and overly personal questions rather than simply having my appointment scheduled. The entire process created so much anxiety that I arrived about 45 minutes early just to make sure I wasn't late. Thankfully, once I met Dr. Jackson Johnson, everything changed. She immediately put me at ease. She listened carefully, never rushed me, took my concerns seriously, and made me feel heard and understood. We discussed my hormone treatment and my concerns about whether my current doses were appropriate. She was incredibly reassuring and let me know that the issues I experienced with the scheduling service were being addressed. I left feeling confident that I had finally found a physician I could trust. Dr. Jackson Johnson is truly exceptional. She has the knowledge, compassion, patience, and humanity that every woman deserves when navigating menopause. I would wholeheartedly recommend her. I stayed with Marina OB/GYN until I was 28 weeks pregnant, and I was extremely disappointed with my experience. During all those weeks as a patient, I was never able to see an actual doctor. Every appointment was with a different nurse practitioner, and I never felt that they genuinely cared about my health or my baby. The one positive thing about this office is that appointments are usually available quickly, sometimes even on the same day. Unfortunately, each visit lasted only about 5-10 minutes. They would perform a brief ultrasound and take measurements, but they rarely spoke to me or explained what any of the numbers meant. Afterward, I was simply told I could leave without receiving useful information or guidance. They did not properly check in with me, explain how my pregnancy was progressing, or tell me what symptoms and warning signs I should be aware of. Pregnancy is a vulnerable time when patients need communication, reassurance, and attentive medical care. I never felt safe, supported, or confident that my pregnancy was in good hands here, which is why I decided to transfer to another provider. read more

1 star Dismissed, unexamined, and delayed. This clinic failed me I saw Dr. Tiphany Jackson Johnson at this practice for my annual OB-GYN appointment and specifically mentioned that I had been suffering from painful periods for years. I left without a proper examination, and with my concerns minimized. Spoiler alert: two months later I ended up having a 8 hour surgery for stage 4 endometriosis and 10cm endometrioma/cyst in my ovary. Dr. Jackson Johnson did not perform a pelvic exam during my visit, no speculum exam, no internal check, nothing. I later learned from multiple physicians that a basic physical examination could have detected my condition, given how advanced it was (10cm cyst on my left ovary). That exam didn't happen. When I raised my concerns about endometriosis, I was told that even if I had it, "there's nothing they can do" except offer birth control. This is factually incorrect and reflects a troubling lack of up-to-date knowledge about endometriosis treatment options. When I asked for an ultrasound, I was discouraged(!), and told they "probably won't find anything." I had to insist. I should not have had to fight for a basic diagnostic tool at my own annual appointment. The ultrasound was scheduled a week later. Results took three weeks to come back. By the time I had answers, I had already lost nearly a month. When I then needed a referral to an endometriosis specialist, the experience became even more frustrating. I had to call the clinic multiple times over the course of a week just to get a response. After all of that back and forth, which was incredibly stressful given what I was already going through, I was finally told they wouldn't provide a referral because they wanted to handle the surgery in-house. This was shocking, given that during my original appointment I had been explicitly told that endometriosis was not treated at this clinic and that there was nothing they could do. The contradiction was unbelievable and added significant delay to my care at a critical time. Shortly after finally receiving those results and seeking care elsewhere, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 endometriosis, including a 10cm ovarian cyst. I required an 8-hour robotic surgery performed by a specialist at Cedars-Sinai. A 10cm cyst does not develop overnight. A thorough examination, timely follow-up, and a proper referral could have caught this significantly earlier. I am sharing this not out of anger but because other women deserve to know what to expect from this clinic. If you have painful periods, pelvic pain, or any suspicion of endometriosis, please seek care somewhere that will take you seriously, examine you properly, and act with urgency. This clinic, in my experience, will do none of those things. read more

The worse of the worse service and staff. At first I didn't believe all the bad reviews of this clinic, until I became one of their patients. Trying to make an appointment was very hard the wait is over 2 hours, when I finally get through someone he is extremely rude, sarcastic, and ends up hanging up on me. Day 1: I was greeted by Latoya and had my service with Dr. Bjorn. First red flag was that Latoya came up to me to pressure me to please do a review on yelp and make sure it was 5 stars, when I had not seen the doctor yet. After the service I left at front desk some paper work to be filled out by my Doctor, it turns out that the paper work was misplaced, was not communicated to me and when I would ask them about the status they will say that it was not filled out yet. One month later I get called from Cynthia, clinic manager, asking me about what paper work I was talking about and that she was never told about it.. wowww after all the wait. The worse part is that Cynthia after telling her everything that happened, her attitude becomes rude, defensive, and disrespectful. Cynthia was never apologetic about what had happened and just decided to hang up on me. Later that day I decide to call back and reschedule my appointment and to my surprise I get the same guy who answered the first time I called as a new patient and, believe it or not, his attitude was the same,rudeeee . I ask to be transfer to some else and he transfers me to Sandra who did not speak English and sounded like a robot, every time I asked a question she did not know how to answer, so I decided to ask for a manager and to my surprise she was one of the managers. .. Hours later I get a called from Alissa, saying that I was no longer going to be seen by my doctor because MINE ATTITUDE WAS NOT ACCEPTABLE... I was very surprise and couldn't believe what I was hearing. Pleaseeeeee do yourself a favor and go somewhere else, this place is not worth the time and money .... Dr. Lapilles, if you are reading this review, I Ask you kindly to please do a major and urgent costumer service training to everyone. The people that are running your facility are doing the worst job ever, please take time to see all yelp and google reviews and you will realize that this is not the only bad review, but one of many following. Please start with the staff which called themselves managers and cannot even apologize for anything or be compassionate. For everyone else let me warn you that as a patient of these facilities you will 1) wait for 2 hours just to make an appointment 2) will not have communication from staff and you will have to contact them to find about any kind of status and if you are lucky the person that answers won't have an attitude. 3) paper work to be lost and not be communicated about it or even apologized. 4) if you complain about your service, you are at risk of getting banned as a patient. 5) no compassion or understanding from staff. This morning I had a consultation, where basically my concerns were dismissed and was told that I shouldn't be feeling such. And have seen bigger fibroids, also if you're a woman who isn't thinking of having children, they seem to punish it and suggest hysterectomy, like wth?! Now that I've read the 1stars I see this surgeon/doctor just has no bedside manners and will gaslight you to try to make think your concerns are not that important, her goal seemed to dismiss concerns, make it seem it's not a big deal, and get me out asap. Last time I experience such disregard, I dealt with such bad periods until I at last found a doctor who cared. I hope to get my PPO back so I don't deal with such an uncaring staff. I continue to feel compelled to warn others not to seek care here. I was a patient of Dr Lipeles several years ago and am honestly shocked this practice is still operating. The treatment I received caused permanent physical harm and had a profound emotional impact. I underwent a cryotherapy procedure on my cervix at this office that resulted in internal damage. As a result, getting pregnant naturally will now be extremely difficult for me. Following the procedure, I experienced severe bleeding for over a month. In the months that followed, scar tissue caused my cervix to become blocked, requiring repeated medical intervention just to allow my period to occur. The entire experience was incredibly traumatic and extremely painful. What is even more concerning is how my medical records were handled. When I requested them, the office initially withheld my records. My primary care physician had to intervene, and even then, the office only provided documentation from my initial visit. Records related to the procedure itself were destroyed, eliminating critical medical documentation. I am sharing this solely as a warning to other women. Please do your research, trust your instincts, and protect your health. Stay safe. read more

Overall, if you have an HMO and this is one of your options, it is serviceable. The facility is sufficiently clean and the medical staff seems to do an ok job. That said, I have not had a baby nor any unique medical issues so I'm a fairly "easy" patient. The nurses can be kind of rude/cold but I've had wonderful experiences with Dr. Oslund (who really seems to care about her patients and isn't just rushing out of the room) and Alyssa Penton. The front desk staff is quite ambivalent and treats the patients like they are a bother. Along these lines, good luck trying to get them on the phone! To schedule an annual exam, it took me calling 3 times on 3 separate days and waiting on hold for several minutes each time. I wanted to change my recent appointment but gave up and stuck with my originally scheduled appointment because I didn't have the patience to devote an entire day to repeatedly calling their office. As a final complaint, they don't validate parking, which I don't care for considering there are no free parking options within reasonable walking distance. If you have a PPO, there are likely far better options in LA. read more

After seeing Lipeles and his associates for almost 8 years, this office has completely fallen apart. If you are a min late, they will not see you. They have outsourced all their calls to a third party in Malaysia that aren't able to speak English, they have more Turnover that you can keep track of and i believe they're running some kind of insurance scam on Medical. I spoke with Cynthia the manager who Informed me that even though, making an appt took me 5 hours between calls, visits, and reschedules, that my one minute late was disrespectful. I've been a patient of this practice for about a year and had one yearly exam and in that short period of time I've had multiple negative experiences from scheduling issues, a doctor not showing up to my appointment, doctors complaining to ME on calls about how they agree the practice has problems, can't ever get a hold of my doctor or the "manager" even for a quick question, and dealing with their international scheduling system. You can't even talk to anyone here in the US. This is an example of how crazy this place is - I went to the ER for pain and the hospital doctor called the on-call line to ask a question, the doctor prescribed me medication for 21 days. I emailed into the portal three times to try and get a call back (all I needed was 5 min because I had a question about remaining on my current medication) and they said in order to get in touch with a doctor I had to schedule 4 weeks out. That would be when I was finished with the medication so they want me to just hang out for an extra week or so until my appointment? I still don't know what I should be doing with my other medication. There's no logic in their system or care for their patients and that is clearly evident here. I will be back on the hunt trying to find a new ObGYN that actually cares and is not about the churn. This time the reviews are sooooo spot on and it doesn't matter what branch you go to because you'll still have to deal with the manager and the overseas scheduling department. read more

This is the worst office management I have ever experienced. I've taken my friend here 3 times and every time gets worse. They left her in the examining room for over an hour (and another patient who walked out wondering where everyone was) during their lunch hour looking for the dr who never showed up. All while I'm in the waiting room with the TV blaring on cartoons. I muted the TV that prompted the girl who came out to unmute it -she said it was "protocol" that it had to be on.
