I had a generally positive experience with the office staff, but I was disappointed with a billing issue following my visit. Before scheduling my appointment, I called ahead to confirm that it would be billed as a regular OB-GYN visit and that my responsibility would be a 50% copay. I was assured this was the case. However, after the visit, I received a bill for $555, which was unexpected and inconsistent with what had been communicated to me in advance. The visit itself was very brief, so I was surprised by the charge. I am currently working with the office to have the visit reviewed and correctly billed, and I hope this can be resolved easily. I'm sharing this so future patients are aware and to encourage clearer communication around billing and coding. DO NOT go to this doctor. It was blatantly clear she does not care for her patients and cares only for the paycheck. I was interrupted multiple times while trying to ask questions about my health and truly felt like just another number to her. When I shared I was anxious about the visit I felt utterly dismissed, and she instead talked so loud about my private health I felt the entire office could hear. She was in and out in 5 minutes and interrupted me accordingly so she could get on her way. I also received no aftercare instructions on an invasive procedure and ended up in a lot of pain and mildly sick as a result. Office staff was also rude. I really liked Dr. Gabbay. However when it came time to refill a hormone rx, no response. No replies back to pharmacy, nothing. Tried to leave a message but the vm was full. My brilliant medical Doctor, stepped in & is refilling it for me. Then I called to find out where my mammogram was written for & the person said they didn't see an order for it...(I have a lump & need last image). Then called again & they found me. Why didn't the first person? So tag, I'm out. Searching again for a new gyn. There's no room for margin of error in medical. Ever. I don't trust a Dr or their office who cannot refill an rx for me. My appointment with Dr Gabbay was at her Santa Monica location. I went Dr Gabbay for some hormonal issues. I thought taking hormone replacement therapy would help and for another reason which she diagnosed and prescribed some steroid ointment for. I told Dr Gabby I was VERY sensitive and wanted the lowest dose possible she agreed and said you are only 92 pounds we can start with a low dose we can always go up. But when I took only 1 pill of the Progesterone I had a very bad reaction to it. Bloody diarrhea, sharp stomach pains, a severe headache and I could barely stay awake. I called my friend and asked her how many mg she takes of progesterone and she said 100 mg. Dr Gabbay prescribed 200 mg to me! She completely screwed up! I asked 5 other women I know on Progesterone they all said 100mg. I decided to open the capsule and take 1/2 of the pill. I still got very very ill! When I told Dr Gabbay she said she will give me a new prescription for 100mg and that I need to get use to it. Dr Gabbay was very nice for the 15 minutes she spent with me. But to tell me she's giving me the lowest dose and then prescribed 2 times the amount is scary. Then to tell me I need to get use to a drug that made me very sick is the reason I will never go back. read more

I'm writing this review after 8 months during my wife's pregnancy and her severe postpartum depression. I'm extremely good at reading people and my wife was not aware that once you select an OB doctor you have to stick with them until the end. Every office visit with Dr. Gabbay I could immediately tell she doesn't care about her patients, she will brush your concerns under the rug so she can collect her paycheck and move on. I had to consistently defend my wife against her negligence to listen to her concerns and complains of pain at every visit. My wife even scored high on the EPDS scale for postpartum depression and even still Dr.Gabbay didn't see it as an issue. She's a heartless doctor and I hope you read this review as a warning to prevent yourself from experiencing the same headaches my wife and I went through. As of today my wife's long term disability claim was denied since Dr.Gabbay never returned phone calls or filled out any paperwork to continue her disability even tho it was obvious my wife literally has no ability to return to work in her current mental and physical state. Dr.Gabbay will not vouch for you and your concerns. She's simply a doctor that exists to collect a paycheck and leave. Dr. Gabbay and her team are amazing! I delivered a healthy baby boy this 12 days ago. Overall my pregnancy was low risk. I had minor bleeding in my placenta and Dr. Gabbay and Maria (Ultrasound Tech) watched it very closely to ensure my baby was still safe! I felt like I was in great care with Dr. Gabbay and her team! Throughout my pregnancy, I was able to effectively communicate with Dr.Gabbay about any questions I had in preparation for my first child. Whether that was on the online portal, in my appointment/meeting with her or calling the office after with my annoying questions. Dr. Gabbay will guide me through my next pregnancy for sure! Dr. Gabbay will waste your time all while running up a bill. I received a bill from my last visit with her to the tune of 300 dollars. Dr Gabbay suggested that I go in for a particular test due to an issue I was experiencing. Wasted 2 and a half hours of my time only for Dr Gabbay to inform me that she couldn't read my test results because she had no previous test or scans to compare the results to. The punchline is that during my previous visit here, the MRI results of my previous test were brought in and added to my file. My previous appointment was literally to consult over my previous test results, which suddenly she has no record of. This lady is a quack and out to lunch as best. read more

I had been a patient of Dr. Gabbay's for a few years. Every year I'd be on time for my annual exam & every year I'd wait minimum 30 min before being called. Annoying but tolerable. The first time I parked in the garage where the office validates your first 60 minutes. Well clearly my appointment ran over if I'm stuck in the waiting room for 30+ minutes. Did they pay for my parking since it was their fault I was parked over 60 min? Of course not. Very annoying but tolerated once & then I always parked on the street for free going forward. Wait times & parking snafus aside, Dr. Gabbay was a largely mediocre OB-GYN. She never seemed invested, and it always felt like she was just knocking out another patient. I'd spend 30+ min in the waiting room, another 20+ in one of the patient rooms just to spend 10 min with Dr. Gabbay. But because I haven't had any real issues, it was just a thing I did annually for preventative care. That was until my appt in January. I went in for an annual exam just like I had the several years before. All the tolerable things that annoyed me still existed. This year, however, I learned that Dr. Gabbay chose to venture into the intolerable realm by charging me for 1) an office visit and 2) labs. As we all know, an annual well woman exam is included under preventive care. Maybe business has been bad & Dr. Gabbay thought I wouldn't notice. But correcting her greedy mistake took close to a dozen phone calls that collectively lasted several hours. I had to talk to my insurance, LabCorp & her office multiple times. How can you treat a patient of several years so unfairly? No apology was issued at any point and no help was offered by her office. I had to fight tooth & nail on my own with my insurance & LabCorp to re-process all the bills purely because Dr. Gabby coded them incorrectly. I mean, seriously?? Avoid at all costs. Dr Gabbay was absurdly late to the birth, to the extent they were telling my wife to slow down so she could arrive (to collect the paycheck). She was extremely rigid and rude when she showed up, and was so callous and rough she caused much more harm than necessary. She even took a call during her hack job! I went in for my first visit with Dr Gabbay , starting from the nurses to the doctor they are all uncaring . Nurse wanted to rush through the procedures, I told her I was in a lot of pain still no one cared. Dr Gabbay came in she also didn't seem like she wanted to really help seemed like she was more concerned about using me as a test candidate for stupid pills and brushed off every other thing I said. I found Dr Gabbay a few years ago in hopes that one day I would be able to have her as my baby doctor. To my surprise I became pregnant and was lucky to have her by my side this year during my high risk pregnancy. I had to see her quite often so it made my days that she was quick and to the point at my appointments. She is a busy lady but when I had questions she always took time to answer them and explain when I had concerns about my pregnancy. Most of the time my appointments were short visits but occasionally there is a wait which is understandable with such a busy doctor. Overall I am very pleased with how she handled my many concerns due to my history and this made for a smooth pregnancy. When it came to the big day I was so happy she was there to deliver my healthy baby girl. Thank you Dr Gabbay for helping me set my fears aside and making this an amazing experience. Worst first experience ever! I was trying to find a new OB/GYN for my first pregnancy and although they scheduled me quickly, my first appt got postponed due to an emergency delivery. At least this doctor told me why (the previous doc cancelled on me 2 hours prior to my appt because the doc didn't show to work that day). Rescheduled to 2 days later. Since this is my first pregnancy (I'm a high risk too), so waiting now 2 extra weeks for my first ultrasound was getting very intense. Finally went in and a young girl gave me my ultrasound. Was not warm and explained everything really quickly. Long story short, not a good outcome. She basically said you will have to talk to the doctor about this...we had sooo many questions from the news she just gave! And then they came back in saying the doctor was stuck and was going to be hopefully just an hour late. We asked if there was another doctor we could talk to about this disturbing news...no. No other doctor in the place to even help explain things further or answer any of our question. So we waited... About 40 minutes they told us the doctor was not going to make it. She would call later in the evening. We left very upset. Who does this? Doctor did call and explained what the ultrasound meant further. Said to come back in the next day for blood work first thing in the morning. Once again I waited over 20 minutes past my appointment time...about 35+ minutes this time. Had to go into another area (lab?) where I waited a bit more. Blood work took less than 5 minutes. They said it would be "stat" and as they explained the results would be back in a couple hours and the doctor would call in the afternoon. Did that happen? No. The doctor did not call until later in the afternoon the NEXT DAY! She had all sorts of excuses: "I didn't get the results back until now" and "I have been very busy" and "who told you that? that wasn't accurate." That is telltale sign you can't do you job well if you can't juggle your patients nor communicate with your staff. I felt like I have been brushed aside. I haven't even met her in person yet nor did she offer a time to meet her one on one. She was optimistic still...I mean I could diagnose myself at this point. She wanted me to come back in for more bloodwork (ie charges) and another ultrasound (even more money). I'm not planning to since I know exactly what is happening. read more

I recently had my first baby and Dr. Gabbay was amazing. I had some complications through pregnancy and she was so great with comforting me and finding me additional care. I really liked her personality, it was a great distraction for whatever was going on. I felt like I got great care with her and was always being watched over. What I remember about my visit with this doctor was that she was always overbooked and over scheduled with several patients at a time. It was my first ever pregnancy so I guess I expected to be informed/educated on my options as to how to have a baby, but she didn't relate any information at all. I had to research on my own and ask her specific questions before she would push me out of the door to see someone else. Mind you this isn't even mentioning the fact that she was like "are you going to keep this baby, or do you want to kill it?" She said this at the very first confirmation of my pregnancy... (ahhh!!!) so terrifying... and when I requested to switch doctors, she was like: "you can't it goes against insurance policies etc." in other words she spent more time relating to me insurance information rather than spending time with me on the options I had to deliver my baby... so sad! read more

Dr. Gabbay was incredible my entire pregnancy! I have an autoimmune disorder which made my pregnancy high risk. Dr. Gabbay was cautious while always being calm and collected. I ended up having complications towards the end of my pregnancy where we induced at 37 weeks. Leading up to induction Dr. Gabbay went above and beyond monitoring my pregnancy with weekly tests and working with a perinatologist. Dr. Gabbay coached me through active labor and I had a successful vaginal delivery to a healthy little boy in less than 24 hrs. I'm so happy she was my doctor for a big life event. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr Gabbay and all her staff! I was very nervous in the beginning of this pregnancy as the doctor from a ER said I had a threatened miscarriage. I called dr Gabbay's office and they fit me in on the same day to be seeing. After that everything went smooth, dr Gabbay has a very positive approach, which helped calm me down a lot. I've been with Dr Gabbay for a while and she always seems rushed. The wait can be really long sometimes even over an hour but the actual treatment/consultation/exam only takes around 10mins. Every time they said they are waiting on a room and she only has two rooms. If there are only two rooms available I suggest not to book so many people at the same time. I've seen Dr. Gabbay for an annual OBGYN appointment as well as a last minute urgent appointment after experiencing some symptoms. She's polite, but does not have very good bedside manners in my opinion. Like most women I know, I hate getting pap smears because they're painful. The two worst pap smears I've gotten have been with Dr. Gabbay. She's not gentle at all and rushes through it while not being very careful. I had to go back for a second pap smear with one of her associates (thank goodness not with her again) because the sample she took was not good. Also her practice is not great. Her assistants don't get back to you with results until you call them weeks later to remind them, etc. Would not recommend. read more

I did not want to write a bad review especially since 1 year has already past, but it still bothers me...I did not choose dr Gabbay as my OBgyn during my second pregnancy, I was just transfered to her since my previous obgyn could not deliver babies any more. I had bad feeling at that time, but I decided to give her a shot. First of all she has a really tough hand during checkup, so be prepared to feel pain. I'm not so sensitive, plus I was already pregnant, so I know what I'm talking about. Second, prepare to wait, maybe one hour. She is always busy and has three patients at the same time. But that's not the worst, what has happened to me. On top of the iceberg she forgot a piece of placenta in my uterus and I lost a significant amount of blood because of it. I had to do an emergency surgery with her in order to remove that piece of placenta. Before the surgery she tried to remove it manually in her office without anesthesia. My blood was all over her floor, she did not manage to do it, so she scheduled me a surgery. Luckily the surgery went well. I was really upset about what happened, but decided to keep it to myself. I was seeing a different OBGYN and a Perinatologist to care for my geriatric pregnancy (I hate that term). About the end of my first trimester, I needed to find a permanent OBGYN to deliver our little one. We chose to deliver at Saint John's so we had to find a doctor that was able to deliver there AND I wanted the OBGYN to be close to home and work since there would be lots of appointments. After much research I chose to see Dr. Gabby. She is so fantastic. Before my first appointment, I had all my paperwork, lab results, etc sent over to her. Her staff confirmed for me that it was all received and she reviewed it before I arrived. We went over everything to get her up to speed on my pregnancy. Since I was considered a geriatric pregnancy, I was required to continue to see a perinatologist to ensure that my baby and myself was healthy. She offered one that she normally works with, but understood that I had one that I was seeing and really wanted to keep seeing (btw-was not allowed to practice at Saint John's). She never pushed me to see her recommended Perinatologist and said that if things got complicated, then I could switch. Dr. Gabby always answered all my questions no matter how silly or simple it may seem. My husband and I really liked how she would sit down and explain things to us in plain, non-medical english. She never rushed us out of the exam room. That was important to us that she took the time to address our concerns. She always gave us all the information to make the right choices and never pushed on us her views. She always made us feel comfortable. I didn't plan to have a c-section, but due to age and the possible degradation of the placenta we had to consider it. She gave us ample time to think about it and supported us in our decision. At some point I was convinced that I had a blood clot since my calf was super swollen. She knew it wasn't, but she also knew me well enough that I needed to get an ultrasound on my legs to sleep better at night knowing that I didn't have a blood clot. She called over to Tower Imaging and got me the VIP treatment for the quickest ultrasound ever! Yes, I've waited for her in the exam room and in the waiting room. I've also had my appointments rescheduled or pushed back. But after delivering with her and seeing behind the scenes, Dr. Gabby is amazing! She is handling deliveries, emergency deliveries, stacked patients, doing hospital visits post delivery, running back and forth from the office to Saint John's. And she always has a smile on her face and completely present when it's my turn. I don't know how she does it. I absolutely recommend Dr. Gabbay. read more

My husband and I have nothing but positive things to say about Dr. Gabbay and her staff. I found Dr. Gabbay when I was having a chemical pregnancy and did not yet have an OBGYN. I called all around town and Dr. Gabbay and her staff were extremely understanding and warm on the phone and the only practice who made room to see me that day. She talked us through what was happening and reassured us about future pregnancies. Next month we were back, pregnant again! Thankfully, this one stuck and throughout the entire pregnancy, Dr. Gabbay and Diana went above and beyond answering our lists of questions, dealing with insurance miscommunications, returning our calls, and calming our anxieties. When it came time to delivery, Dr. Gabbay did a wonderful job and I completely trusted her to do her thing. She quickly and safely delivered our beautiful baby boy, calmingly talking us through the labor. Overall, we always left her office reassured and happy. I gave birth to my daughter a year and half ago. I don't think I ever healed from the emotional trauma caused by Dr. Mojan Gabbay. I came into the ER in the middle of the night in active labor. I wasn't going to make it to my designated hospital and had to go to Providence Holy Cross. I labored through the night and when my labor stalled they assumed that my bag had to be broken in order to continue progressing. In order for my bag to be broken an OB had to punture it with a hook. Had I known what was about to happen to me I would have found a way to break it myself. Around 6AM my labor stalled and the call to the on-call doctor ( Dr. Gabbay) went out. She didn't arrive until 12:30PM. When she did arrive, she did not acknowledge me as her patient but instead spoke to her nurse, lifted my gown and proceeded to insert the hook right in the middle of a contraction. She then walked out of the room. At that moment I gave my Doula an absolute look of horror. I was violated! There is no other word to describe her lack of bedside manner for a laboring mother. She didn't bother to tell me that once my bag was broken the contractions would be immensely stronger nor did she bother to ask how I was feeling. When my husband figured out that what she had done was insanely wrong, he took matters into his own hands and dealt with her and her horrific attitude. When attempted to speak to her about what she had just done to me, instead of apologizing she decided to announce to us that she didn't like our birth plan. WTH!? That was the last straw for me. The words I want to say to her are not educated nor are they words I call anyone, this woman to me, deserves each and every one of them. Regardless of where we were from and the fact that she wasn't my doctor does not make it okay to teat a patient the way she did. I had every right as a fully covered paient to be there and deserve the best birth I could have. I managed to have another doctor come in her place after we refused her care. I am glad to see that she does not treat everyone this way, but our birthing experience was one that should not have occurred. Please consider this when birthing with her. read more

Just happened to pass through yelp! And boy am I glad I did!! I was looking up my medical group (health care partners) when I saw our OBGYN, Dr. Gabbay's profile. As first time parents my wife and I chose Dr. Gabbay without any recommendations or expectations. My wife had some complications during her pregnancy and Dr. Gabbay was professional, helpful, reassuring, and decisive. She erred on the side of caution and always made the health of my wife and the baby her primary concern. During the birth everything went smooth, other than the fact that we had to go through a C-Section. Without hesitation, and excited to see her again we looked to Dr. Gabbay two years later to get us through our 2nd child. This pregnancy went about the same way as the first. Since we knew what to expect it was less stressful for us especially knowing that Dr. Gabbay was leading us through the whole way. Her bedside manner is bar none and her personality is warm with a great sense of humor. Now we recommend Dr. Gabbay to any soon-to-be parents. To this day when we pass her office for our regular pediatrician visits she will come out and give our kids hugs. She seems genuinely happy to see children she has delivered. I saw the "one star" review from Nat and that's what prompted me to take a few minutes to write my own review. This is not a review of the doctor but rather of her team. I scheduled an appointment cia ZocDoc and arrived 20 minutes early. They told me they didn't have me on schedule but would check. Turns out the doctor wasn't even working that day. They gave me the doctors card with the address (where I was) and a phone number (to where I was) to check what happened. Since I was already there, I asked if there was another doctor I could see so they sent me across the hall to Dr. Jade Singer. I said I wanted a consultation for family planning and shared what happened with Dr. Gabbay. They made me feel like an idiot and asked why I wanted to see Dr.Singer, and I said family planning consultation. And they were like no, she's not a doctor (what???). Then they said I could see her and ask questions, but she might not be able to answer them. Then I finally called the number they gave me on the card and the lady on the phone made me feel like an idiot saying that when you confirm on ZocDoc and get the ZocDoc confirmation email you must then wait for a call from the office to confirm. Having to undergo a hysterectomy is a pretty scarry experience. Dr. Gabbay was extremely sensitive and explained the procedure in detail. She was patient and caring. I could not express how thankful I am for the professionalism and care I was provided.I had a laproscopic partial hysterectomy. The recovery was seamless. Dr Gabbay stayed in contact with me via phone and through in person follow ups to ensure everything was in working order. Cant thank her enough for her care. read more

It took me years to find an amazing GYNO, such as Dr. Gabbay and now that I'm starting a family of my own, I only want to go to her. Does anyone know if she is still practicing? If she is, can someone tell me where? I've tried tracking her down and can't find any information except when she was in Mission Hills. I had an amazing experience with Dr. Gabbay. I was referred by my mom following her surgery in 2007. I gave birth to my son in November 2012 via C- Section and wouldn't have changed a thing. She is very personable and thorough which made me feel comfortable throughout my entire pregnancy and delivery. I am looking forward to seeing her again when we have another child.
