Dr.Evans has been my to-go Gynaecologist from day 1 since I moved to the US , almost 2 years back. She has tons of experience , maintains a good connect with her patients and has the most efficent Nurse Practitioner Ms.Chun. Three main reasons why I shall continue seeing her - 1. Recently , during an unprecedented issue , they accommodated me on the same day of calling in without a prior appointment. 2.They make sure to return calls promptly. 3.Dr.Evans is confident of what she is doing and doesn't follow a trial and error pattern of treatment. Finally, I see a lot of rant from fellow Yelpers about long wait times. Well , I am at the doctor's clinic and not at a Salon for haircut. So if I am asked to wait , I wait. Her Bellevue and Issaquah clinics are always brimming with patients , so yes there is a decent wait time . Dr. Evans and her team are amazing. I didn't have an easy pregnancy and with her years of experience and knowledge she immediately knew something was wrong when she heard of my symptoms. Throughout my treatment and follow-ups everyone was so kind and thoughtful to make sure me and baby were healthy. Dr. Evans is a great OB/GYN. I had to wait about 15 minutes past my appointment time, but I am happy to do that because when I saw her she gave me her undivided attention. I did not feel rushed at all. She happily answered all my questions. She took the time to do an ultrasound and made sure I could see the screen. She pointed out everything. She also did a biopsy. I felt at ease leaving her office. She kept saying, don't worry I will call you by the end of the week. I wish more doctors had the demeanor that Dr. Evans has. Her bedside manner is amazing. Her office staff is also great. When I called to make my appointment (it had been a few years since I had been in to this office), they were concerned that I needed to be seen immediately. I explained that I had gone to my Family Doctor, and I didn't think it was an emergency. They kept calling me when a closer appointment came open to offer it to me. Doctor Evans was friendly. However, she did not seem very knowledgeable or up with current medicine. There were many instances, but for example, she had never even heard of my birth control, about which I had major questions and concerns, and on an unrelated matter, she suggested I "google" the answer to my question. Finally, while I was waiting for my appointment, she had a very private conversation with a patient and her mother right in front of me. She is a very nice woman who took her time with me, but unfortunately I was looking for expertise. read more

First off, one of their phone numbers they call from rings and goes to a voicemail. A voicemail they don't ever check. I called almost every other day trying to get my exam results but no one was ever there (according to the receptionist) to give me those results. Then when someone FINALLY called me back almost two months later, the nurse tried to blame it on me for not answering my phone. They never called and never left any voicemails. So not only did it take them 2 months to give me my exam results, I went to a new doctor and they went over my previous records from this clinic.....they left out some VERY important results about my test coming up positive for something serious. The nurse just told me "everything is normal, see you next year." My new doctor was shocked. I'm pissed and glad I've moved on! read more

Unfortunately, every visit resulted in us being seen an hour to two hours after our appointment time and we were the first appointment of the day each time! We were always listening to the Dr and staff discuss their weekend or trips or something other than focusing on us. We finally transferred to another provider and we never even got a call or inquiries as to why we left the practice. We started out with high hopes and it turned out to be a bummer. read more

I have read the reviews left on this site for Dr Evans practice with disbelief! As a practicing nurse I have recommended Dr Evans and her team for years to many seeking a caring and incredibly sharp GYN. Dr Evans and her staff have always been personable and professional. Dr Evans quickly diagnosed and treated an issue years ago for me and I continue to go to her periodically for any GYN issue that might arise. Suzie, her receptionist, has an amazing dry sense of humor that I ALWAYS look forward to! I understand how some people may misinterpret her, however she makes me feel like one of the family every time I visit or call. Instead of the frequently anonyomous and cold feeling you get in many businesses today, Suzie and Dr Evans make you feel like a valued patient that they have missed seeing and their quality of care can't be beat. If I could give this practice 10 stars I would! The world needs more practices like this. read more

Absolutely HORRIBLE customer service and no regard to HIPAA laws. For every past doctors office that I have requested records from, I have been asked to verify birth-date and provide a Patient Records Release form. After not being asked to verify my identity, I called back to speak to "Suzie" alarmed that I was not asked to verfiy my identity and was told that "not many people are going to call for other peoples pap results history" while she laughed. Very rude, degrading, and unprofessional. Bottom line, it is HIPAA law, and the patients right to have medical history kept private. If you want your medical history kept private, I would suggest you find a different office! read more

Dr. Evans delivered both of my boys and is amazing. She was always so nice at all my appointments and very professional. She listened to my concerns, answered all my questions even though I'm sure she's been asked hundreds of times! When I called to make my first appointment they directed me to the paperwork online and to bring a photo ID and insurance card. On arrival they took the paperwork without checking my ID... I could have been anyone. I saw Dr. Thomas, she was very polite but I did feel rushed and she was asking me very unusual questions. She asked a few questions about my job and such but to be fair she was always respectful, however the conversation just seemed odd. Right after I went to get my blood drawn and they asked my birth date, turns out they had me at 1994 and not my actual birthday of 1984. 10 years! I called the office to correct the problem. The next day I picked up a physicians letter for work...with my incorrect date of birth still not corrected. I am disappointed in how the office keeps their paperwork, and how in a conversation with the Doc she was unable to figure out the mistake on her own, much less double check my information. I got the impression she wasn't really listening to me. These small mistakes makes me wonder would else falls through the cracks unchecked? read more

Very disappointed with the customer service from the receptionist staff. Recently had my 8 week appointment and waited 1 hour to be admitted! There was no communication from staff and immediately when admitted felt as though I was being rushed. Just called to transfer my records and was coldly greeted by "Sharon" who was less than informative and very curt with her response, including a dismissive click when I said "thank you for you for your help." The other regular receptionist seems very busy, uninformative, and difficult to understand. Judith Unger has been wonderful and seems to be the redeeming quality of this practice. I feel like when pregnant with my first child, first time mom patients should be handled with more concern and delicacy than I was given. Dr. Evans seems inaccessible when she is floating between two offices; which doesn't build confidence when it comes time to deliver. I would not recommend this practice to any of my friends or family. read more

I had not gone for a checkup in almost 4 years. I hate going to gyn's, but at my age, it must be done. I was really apprehensive, especially after dealing with the appointment desk people. Oh, good grief! What a mess. But I researched Dr. Evan's background and got a couple of referrals about her from friends and my general practitioner, so I was determined to try anyway. I saw her at Overlake (which was an ordeal with parking, etc.). I have to tell you, friends, planning it and getting there is not a pretty picture, but once Dr. Evans came in to the examining room it was a whole different story. She was warm, but straight forward. Since my complications stemmed from a long-time ovarian problem, she was knowledgeable and informative on different possibilities. I liked her no-nonsense-style bedside manner and her care. If you are looking for easy access, forget about it. But if you're looking to see a really good ob/gyn, Dr. Evans is great. If you do decide to see Dr. Evans, I would suggest drink your coffee before you call, and make the appointment to see her in her Issaquah clinic NOT at Overlake hospital. read more

I'm on baby number 2 with Dr. Evans. I usually see her in the Bellevue office. My first experience was amazing, she is so kind, caring and thoughtful. Some folks reviews complain about her appt wait times but you have to understand it's because she takes the time to connect with her patients, she talks with them and tries to understand their needs. I have been working with Judith Unger A.R.N.P. for many years, and when she moved to Issaquah OB/GYN, it was an easy decision to follow her! I make the trek from West Seattle to Issaquah because she is so spectacular! She is very thorough, and always take the time to answer my questions, as well as explore all of my options. Judith continuously makes sure I have everything I need, then goes above and beyond to make sure I'm set. And on top of that, she is just the most lovely person! I visited the Issaquah office after being recommended it by my insurer's wellmatch service. I saw Judith Unger and have to say that she was fabulous. Both for my annual exam and my IUD insertion, she was warm and welcoming and great at putting me at ease. The office is quiet, and personal feeling, not bright and noisy like other ob/gyn offices I have been to, a major plus for an introvert without children :P. Unlike other providers I have had in the past, when talking to Judith I felt like she was really listening to me and looking out for my best interests. This was a huge step up from the level of care I had received in other offices from other providers. I definitely will be back for any further OBGYN needs. read more

MOST AMAZING DOCTOR EVER! I'm a pretty discerning customer, and in my adult life have yet to feel well-taken care of by a doctor, until I came here. In all honesty, I look forward to coming to the doctor's office when I have an appointment here. Dr. Evans is one the most amazing OB EVER! She has worked with me during my two pregnancies and delivered both of my children. She has also been truly wonderful, caring an encouraging as we work through some challenges conceiving our third. She's gone way above and beyond what most doctor's would - even making time for an unscheduled weekend appointment for me. To address some other reviewers comments - Sure, I've had to wait some times at her office, but I've never had a doctor who I didn't have to wait to see. The truth is that this doesn't bother me because I know the amazing level of attention and care that I get during my visits, and if I'm waiting I'm confident it's because she's giving some extra TLC to someone who needs it. When it's possible her office always calls me to try to reschedule or let me know that Dr. Evans may be running late. All in all - amazing person and doctor. If I could give Issaquah OB/GYN zero stars, I would! Where do I begin!?!?! The office staff: I have not had one positive encounter with any of the office staff. First, they are rude on the phone and in person. For every appointment I have had, the main receptionist has call to cancel my appointment 20 minutes before I was scheduled to be there. Yes, I understand that babies come when they are ready and that can change a doctor's schedule. However, when trying to reschedule my appointment the main receptionist at the Issaquah office has given me a large amount of pushback when it came to my availability. She has ZERO people skills. Next, while sitting in the office I have overheard them speaking about patients' personal information on multiple occasions. Finally, when requesting my medical records so I can get a second opinion from another doctor, I was yelled at and questioned on why I would need a second opinion. She crossed the line when she began to argue with me about my experience with their office! The doctors: I did not work with Dr. Evans so I cannot speak to her as a doctor. However, I did see her co-provider, Dr. Catherine Thomas. After having a very rough pregnancy with my first child, I was looking for a doctor who would be proactive about my issues during my next pregnancy. During the pre-pregnancy appointment, Dr. Thomas was very attentive to my needs and concerns. Once I became pregnant, everything changed! She was rude, short, and brushed-off any questions or concerns that I would bring up. When discussing VBAC vs. repeat C-section I was made to feel like less of a woman and weak because I was considering the repeat C-section. I left my second appointment in tears because of the way she talked down to me. Needless to say I am in the process of switching doctors. Long story short, if you are planning to have a baby please look elsewhere for your doctor. This office as a whole is a horrible experience for anyone who is expecting! If you are a patient of Issaquah OB/GYN consider your options. Just because you start with one doctor doesn't mean you need to stay with that doctor. read more

EXCELLENT! My wife received surgical treatment from Dr. Evans for a uterine issue. Dr. Evans took all the time in the world with us answering our questions and going into detail on every aspect of the surgery and recovery process. We were very comfortable going in for treatment and her staff were extremely polite, professional, and responsive. Not once did we have to wait on hold. Simply the best. Dr. Evans exemplify Excellence in patient care. My husband has been in medical field for 30 years and stated he has never seen a physician much less a specialist as caring as Dr. Evans. Having our first child we were so nervous about everything and always asked many questions. I could not believe how patiently she would take the time to answer them all in details. She surprised us further by being present during delivery couple of hours past midnight and again checking on me early AM. I also were extremely impressed with the front office staff. They are all professional and caring. In particular, Suzie was always helpful, courteous and very pleasant. Incredibly disappointed in how I was treated by front desk. I called two months ago and the soonest I could get in was Dec 11, okay fine made the appointment. Triple confirmed on the phone. Called my doctors office right after and asked them to send my records as the front desk woman requested. I called today to make sure my records went through given my appointment was a week or so away. The woman tells me my appointment was CANCELED. I asked her how that was possible because I never canceled my appointment and that I have been waiting two months. She put me on hold then came back to tell me I "must have called to cancel." BUT I NEVER CANCELED MY APPOINTMENT. Could not believe she told me that, so incredibly rude. I told her thanks anyway I won't be trying to schedule another appointment. Dr. Evans is a very gentle, kind, caring doctor. I am very happy that I found her to take care of me. I have gone to other doctors (as I am 63) who were not nearly as nice and knowledgable. I was very surprised to read the review by "Chantel." I also saw Dr. Catherine Thomas and found her to be very warm, attentive and helpful with my issues. She was able to diagnosis my symptoms and get me started on some trial medications to see how they work before I spend money at the pharmacy. I will see her again for follow up. Very disappointed with their system and feel like they are just out there to make money and not care about patient. I had an ablation done last year and they couldnt fit me in for a two week follow up as they were booked solid. Instead, they offered me an appointment 3 months post my surgery for a two week follow up. When they scheduled my procedure, they knew I was going to need a follow up. Why not make both appt at the same time? It turns out follow up is included in the price of procedure so it makes sense why they have appt for procedures but not follow up. Further more, their MA was giving me all this medical advise ( I am a MA and its not in our scope of practice to give medical advice ) along with how I may not even need a follow up if I am doing fine. She also said only 15% of the ablations are successful. Why wasnt I given these odds at the initial visit? The only time I spoke to Dr. Evans was my initial appt so she can answer my questions I was told. she talked about her travels during that visit but when I asked questions about ablation, she gave me brochure and said this will answer all my questions. Another very disturbing information I came across when I was in the room being prepped for the procedure by the anesthesiologist is that her and Dr. Evans are sisters or sister-in-laws. The only two people in the room doing my procedure!!!! I am still bleeding six months post my procedure and wonder if they actually did the procedure correctly? Who knows!!!! I called to schedule an appt. with Dr. Evans in January, but was told that she was on vacation until March. So, based on her bio/experience, I decided to wait for her to get back. BTW, my old obgyn retired, so I was looking for a new one. In March, the day BEFORE my appt., they called and said they messed up on the scheduling and Dr. Evans was not available for another month. They suggested that I see Dr. Catherine Thomas instead. BIG MISTAKE! Catherine Thomas is the worse obgyn I've ever seen! She couldn't answer basic questions and she never explains risks, side effects, pros/cons of the different types of birth control, etc. After having a new BCP not agree with me, I contacted her again only to hear the side effects for the FIRST TIME. Had I known how this particular pill reacts (guaranteed BTB), I would've never taken it to begin with. She lacks professionalism, is completely uninformative, and is not friendly.
