I had a bike fall on the trail and needed a thorough cleaning of my wounds. I walked to the closest place downtown because driving anywhere else would have been messy -- I didn't want to stain my car with blood. The building looked simple and a bit outdated, but I never judge a book by its cover, and this was definitely one of those cases. From the receptionist to the nurse assistant and the doctor, everyone was incredibly caring, attentive, and kind. This is what health care is supposed to feel like. I'm used to the drive‑thru experience at Overlake, Evergreen, and UW Medicine, but I had an outstanding experience at Meadowbrook. They took excellent care of my wounds, and I'll return there again if I ever need to. I'm not sure how they handle more complex cases, but for first‑care treatment, they exceeded my expectations. I suddenly had a horrible itchy, rash all over my body with no explanation to what it was. I tried Allegra and Zyrtec and Benadryl that were no help at all, and it kept getting worse and worse so much that I could not sleep at all. Snoqualmie urgent care was not answering their phones during the snow so I called urgent care in North Bend and went into Meadowbrook. Had a very pleasant PA Elaine Kow and she with Dr. Dean Steele evaluated me and determined I had a latent allergy to Amoxicillin. I was quickly prescribed three drugs that almost immediately helped my symptoms and I was able to sleep. I'm hugely grateful, especially to Dr. Steele, who came in and absolutely was so experienced and knew exactly what I was suffering from. Keep in mind I had to have my shirt off and part of my drawers down for this exam to look at my rash, and I never once felt uncomfortable. He was completely professional as was Dr. Kow. I haven't been as uncomfortable as I was at this clinic in a LONG time. Doctor had an outdated sexist attitude. Alluded that I couldn't possibly know about my own body/symptoms and what I wanted to be screened for, also oddly declared that I can't find my own cervix. PA and Dr conducted unnecessary probing questions that were not relevant to my symptoms or intent of visit. PA made sure to double down on the fact that that if I had anal sex they would need to do an anal swab, after I had already replied no and indicated no symptoms in that area. Repeatedly "offered" a pelvic exam after I denied it multiple times- I repeatedly requested to self-swab (as is normal practice at other urgent cares). Then Dr "offered" an abdomen exam. Then asked to check my heart and lungs, oddly kept pushing for physical contact when he noted me becoming uncomfortable. Also became defensive when I simply stated I was uncomfortable, and demanded for me to educate him on exactly why I was uncomfortable- I had no interest in arguing with this man, just wanted my medical care which should have been quick and easy. I'll stick to Overlake in the future. read more

Sent me a bill from two years ago. I called and asked why that is and the lady said it was because me insurance denied it. (Never happened before at this urgent care) on my statement it said two weeks after the original visit that both my insurances paid it. Told me I had to pay or could be sent to collections. So watch out for bills that will come in 2 years. read more

So happy this place exists. I had to get some bloodwork done and a skin issue looked at that couldn't wait until I returned home. Got there at 10 when they opened, and the nurse and Dr. Heather could not have been nicer or made me feel more comfortable. This facility is a joke. I wouldn't recommend them for long term care. The only time I was ever satisfactorily helped was after a cat attack and a gallbladder thing. Dr. Stella was initially supposed to be my regular provider but she and her assistants proved to be so rude and indifferent to my needs as a patient that I ultimately had no choice but to find medical care elsewhere. read more

Be warned the payment system is a mess I got a bill after the expected reasonable delay, payed that bill by check and one month later received a second bill for the same amount. But this bill was sent 14 days after they cashed the check for the first bill and after three calls am still waiting for a resolution. We had occasion to use the clinic's service again within the past week, and Dr Steele in particular. This was a follow-up visit on a Saturday afternoon. We waited around 15 minutes or so, certainly a reasonable timeframe for a drop-in. It was worth the wait. Dr Steele is without question one of the best doctors I've dealt in my lifetime. He is professional and empathetic, but most importantly he is extremely knowledgeable and thorough, He brought some very important issues to our attention that have not been noticed by any doctor previously. Tonight, he followed up with a phone call to discuss additional thoughts and findings. He had clearly researched the issue further, and went out of his way to contact us on his 'own' time to provide additional information and make new recommendations, including a referral to a specialist. For those who may be critical of the time they had to wait, they need to recognize that this is not an emergency room and is not staffed as such. If you have acute symptoms, you should probably go to an emergency room or contact 911. "Urgent Care" and "ER" are not synonymous. Urgent Care primarily means you can come in without a previous appointment, and that they are open beyond 'typical' office hours. During non-peak hours, there is likely only one doctor and nurse on staff. Though they have never seemed very busy while I was there, I have always been seen as soon as a doctor and/or exam room was available. Usually, you'll notice someone leaving before you asked to come back, and the next person gets to go when you're done. Nonetheless, I've never had a wait exceed 15 or 20 minutes. Bottom line though: You'll get top-notch, professional care inside those doors. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Steele for weekend minor emergencies for years when my regular doctor's office was closed. I like his attention to detail and his ability to quickly get to the root cause of the problem. (If you are having a real serious emergency, go to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital by the Casino or Swedish Hospital in Issaquah. They're close and open 24x7x365). I'm really happy that Dr. Steele and Dr. Winslow and his staff have this practice in North Bend. I recently got the opportunity to sign up for healthcare through ACA/"Obamacare". Dr. Winslow (in the same office) is accepting new patients with my insurance company, so I now don't have to drive in town to see a doctor. read more

Hm, so far the reviews for this place are love it or hate it. My experience was middle of the road. For an urgent care place, it didn't feel all that urgent. I was in a lot of discomfort/pain and would have liked to be seen more quickly, especially since the clinic did not feel busy when I visited. I waited longer than I typically wait at a standard doctor's appointment. On the other hand, I can't know how the doctor was occupied during that time. Also, I will admit to having a certain problem with dwarf-like stoicism. My medical problem stumped the doctor, which is no wonder since it also stumped a succession of specialists in the subsequent months. However, he did a thorough exam and had a decent bedside manner. He prescribed some pills to help treat symptoms and sent me on my way. I think my experience was average because I had a really difficult situation (the kind of medical thing that makes you feel all sorts of vulnerable and miserable), and they did fine with handling it... but not so very well (in terms of wait time, kindliness, etc) to really ease the experience. I've had doctors like that, so I know they're out there. Still, I would go back here if needed, and I think the clinic fills a very useful niche in the community. read more

Do not even think about using this place! Took my girlfriend there for an acute kidney stone attack and everything about the experience was deplorable. The front desk clerk was callous, abrupt and pretended to not even notice my girlfriend was literally on the floor in extreme pain until I demanded some assistance. Then, they told me there were other "appointments" ahead of us and we'd have to pay their $160.00 fee before they could get us in... Then, after paying, suddenly they had an exam room open. In the room less than 2 minutes and some practitioner poked his head in, said "where does it hurt" and then told us they couldn't do anything for us. My girlfriend was never treated, they never even took vitals, just turned her around and showed her the door and said go to the Emergency Department. Before leaving, I told them the level of care was totally sub-standard and that charging us $160.00 for doing absolutely nothing was unacceptable. We went back a week later to talk to the Office Manager in person but was told they were unavailable and were promised a call back by 10am the following day... That was three days ago and still nothing. This organization is completely driven on making money at any cost and will lie to your face just to get you to go away. Charging us and then not providing treatment constitutes fraud and breech of contract. Save yourself a headache and go to Snoqualmie Valley Hospital ER instead. I have been coming to Meadowbrook Urgent Care for me and my family for the past 4 years. Dr. Winslow and Dr. Steele are amazing and do everything they can to figure out what is going on with you. They are great with kids too, my son loves coming here which is soo strange for a child. The staff is always so friendly and considerate. They truly make you feel like family and always seem to remember a face. I have never met so many pleasant and sweet nurses at a doctors office! This is an Urgent Care clinic that goes based off of a first come first serve bases so it is expected to wait. They are a small clinic but do not let this discourage you from seeing this amazing crew. If you are sick they will treat you, if you injured yourself they will fix you up, they get things done and make sure you are taken care of. I would highly recommend this clinic! read more

Have had explosive chronic diarrhea for over a month. Regular internist couldn't see me till end of August. Regular GI specialist said couldn't see me till end of October and then only for Zoom appointment? Dr. Steele did blood test plus breath test for H Pylori. Fecal sample tests were positive for campylobacter. Called in prescription for Zpack for me. Also referred me to Overlake GI specialist who is seeing me in late September! Impressed! Got there at 10 AM so was first seen. Very brief wait. Highly recommend! read more

While the care by the doctors and nurses were always timely and met our needs, the billing department is totally atrocious. Whoever was in charge of billing our insurance, coded it wrong, leading to our claim being denied. I had to call and try to figure out what the problem was multiple times while my insurance worked to code the bill under PPO, vs the HMO that was incorrect. When trying to get a hold of the billing dept of this facility, the receptionist at first refused to let me speak with her. When I explained the situation, I got a sassy unhelpful person who refused to not only let me make my payment, but to even work with myself or my insurance. Will not be going back here, not because of the level of care by the medical staff, but because of the mistakes the billing employee made, her refusal to cooperate, and her rude attitude. read more

My time receiving care at Meadowbrook Urgent care started out quite well. It was not until I had a serious life issue that things changed. I was treated differently by the ARNP Ken Winslow. He misdiagnosed a fracture in my foot, passed it off as being gout. Dr. Steele is steller, always took adequate time, never felt rushed. With Mr, Winslow I often felt rushed. The girls that work there are amazing. They are so kind and understanding with my sometimes bad mood and only conducted themselves in a professional manner, even when lights went out during my appointment. I left that office for two reasons. The less being I did not live in North Bend any longer and was too far to drive. Secondly, the quality of care seemed to diminishing since I nervous breakdown/medical issue.....Just never felt like I was treated the same. I came before 7pm with my toddler who fell and cut his forehead. It wasn't busy but while I was filling out the paperwork the doctor came up to the desk and said they would be closing at 7pm instead of 8pm and wouldn't be taking any more patients. This was not posted anywhere and the receptionist didn't seem to be aware of it either. The doctor did take a quick look at my toddler from behind the desk and said it would "probably be fine" and to go to the ER if he seemed nauseous. We left and went to an urgent care in Issaquah that was actually open during posted hours to get it treated instead, and would definitely go back there again anytime over this operation. read more

Attentive and Friendly Staff. Came in with Back and what I thought was mild stomach pain. After Dr. Steele examined me, he determined it was best I go get checked at the ER due to another underlying health issue I have. He didn't just want to prescribe me some pills and send me on my way. I felt he was knowledgeable and generally concerned for my well being, but at the same time had a humorous, no nonsense approach. I was seen right away and Dr. Steele followed up and called me the next day to see how I was doing which was a type of service I have never received from an Urgent Care before. Generally you are just a number and get in get out, but that is not the case with Meadowbrook. They have extended hours which is a plus in the Valley and will definitely be using this as my go to Urgent Care from now on. read more

My family moved to North Bend in November 2006. Mary Schroff, a doctor at Meadowbrook Urgent Care, was the doctor my disabled mother was setup to have for her care. Mary took an hour thoroughly reviewing my mother's situation and made some important changes that proved to be great for mom. Mary is so sincere and cares about her patients. After seeing the compassion and capabilities of Dr. Shroff we decided she would be our family doctor. 7 years later I can't tell you how happy we have been with her care for our family. I feel very confident whether it is Mary or Dr. Steele we have seen that our care is excellent. I would totally recommend this facility to any family. read more

I brought my daughter in here last night because she was having some pain in her neck and shoulder. She has arthritis and had been on prednisone which lowers her immune system so I was a little worried. It was about 7:40 when I decided to take her so I called them to see if it was too late. They assured me that I should bring her in and that the doctor would be happy to see her. We drove in and arrived at 5 minutes until 8. One of the people in the front office was very friendly and helpful. The other one was very short with us and was slamming things around. As we were standing there she went around and closed all the blinds. She was nice enough to our face but body language can speak very loudly and her's was screaming at us to get out. Now to the doctor. My daughter liked his beard and he had good bedside manner but I found him a tad too touchy for me. That could just be his manner though. He shook my hand which was nice and then gave my daughter a high five. He examined her and seemed a little impatient when she didn't follow his commands right away although he was very thorough. Ex. He put his fingers in both of her ears and then said "open close." She hesitated because she didn't know what to do. Had he said, "open and close your mouth repeatedly" then she would have been able to flow his instructions more clearly. Then he proceeded to give us advice on tapering her medication that the rheumatologist prescribed. There are specialists for a reason. Then, as we were leaving he was having a conversation with a patient IN THE HALLWAY about her care and she was trying to convince him to give her marijuana. Ugh. I'm not a prude. I know that it's legal and all that but my daughter is 11 and doesn't need to be exposed to the discussion about this lady's medical care. While I was waiting for my daughter to use the restroom I observed the lady, her husband, and the doctor discussing her medical care. The husband asked the doc what her care would be and the doc said he was going to give her a prescription for a muscle relaxer and pain killer but that he didn't really think there was anything wrong with her. So she asked him why he was giving her the medication. He actually said "because your husband needs his sleep so you need to take the pills and go to sleep so he can sleep." What the hell?! All this happened in the hallway. I looked over at the lady at the front desk with a look that said "WTF?" And she just shrugged. With doctors like that who needs drug dealers? So, in conclusion, I appreciated that they took us in so late and that the doctor did a very thorough job in figuring out what was wrong with my kiddo but the hallway conversation was terrible and the front desk staff was just "eh." read more

I went to Meadowbrook with a terrible cold, sore throat and cough. The Doctor who came in the room had a "In Training Nurse" with him. She looked me over. When she looked at my throat she said "Oh, when did you have your tonsils removed" I have NEVER had my tonsils removed... the Doctor had to look since the girl in training was unsure. After all said and done.. I was hoping I would at least get on an antibiotic. They gave me nothing. I was there for almost 2 hours. My second trip there was today. I took my Fiancé in cause he had been sick with a cold since Wednesday. We looked at his throat and it looked like his tonsils were very infected. We went online and researched tonsillitis, and he had all the symptoms. We drove to Meadowbrook where we waited quite sometime for somebody to look at him. The nurses asked him what was wrong and he said he thought his tonsils were infected. They told him is was probably strep throat. They ended up running a few test and told him it was a virus... they gave him a prescription for some antibiotics and that "it would take a few hours to get filled" A few hours! The most I have ever waited to pick up a prescription is 20 minutes max. We are going to get a second opinion. My Fiancé got in the car as we were leaving and told me they seemed absolutely oblivious to what was wrong with him. We will not be going back to Meadowbrook ever again. read more

Employees are welcoming, and Dr. Steele and Dr. Shroff (the two main practitioners) are both extremely compassionate. I have had several great experiences with Meadowbrook. I have a primary care doc, but its not always easy to get in for 'minor' issues. The staff and docs at Meadowbrook have always treated me and my family with the utmost care and respect (Dr. Schroff even remembers the most minute details from our conversations (yes, conversations! There is always time to talk to the doctor here) and asks follow up questions. I recently had my first baby, and the staff not only remembered me, but were as excited to meet my new baby as my close friends. This place posts hours of 10am-8pm (mon-sat) and I showed up at 7:28 to be seen. There was no one in the waiting room to be seen and as soon as I walked up to the woman and said hello she told me, "We stop accepting patients at 7:30" (Forget that she didn't even say hello). To which I replied that I had 7:28 on my clock, she looked at her computer and validated the time but told me she wouldn't have time. I let her know I had a quick visit and would fill out the paper work quickly. She asked me if I was an existing patient, I let her know that I wasn't and she told me that she couldn't do it then because it would take too long. If you close at 7:30 - then mark that as your hours. If you say you don't accept patients after 7:30 - then go by your word. I was there before 7:30 and she was just too lazy to the paperwork. She directed me to the emergency room (emergency room for a bladder infection - really?) and when I got back to my car she went around and closed all the blinds. If this is the kind of service the doctors or allow their receptionist to give I would stay away. read more
