My fave place to go!!! I've been coming here for years and LOVE it. The staff are all professional and friendly. Facilities are always immaculate. Alexa in particular is amazing and goes out of her way to provide good customer service. I got a gel manicure 3 weeks ago and they're still perfect (except for being so grown out oops!). I have traveled, swam in the ocean, and used cleaning products with these nails and they're still in perfect condition. No chips or discoloration at all!! I called asking for a gel manicure appointment, they said ok, I showed up and then they said I didn't say gel and they didn't have time for me. Mind you there were only 3 other people there. Thankfully someone agreed to take me. A week goes by and now every single one of my nails has chipped. I called yesterday and someone said come in tomorrow and we will fix. I called back today and I was informed that I'll have to pay for the services since i didn't send them pictures the day it happened??? If someone goes out of town, how does this "policy" work? I am only giving two stars, strictly based on customer service and my nail tech Scott. Otherwise, I'd give then NO STARS! The Positive: I came here because the nail salon I usually go to could not take me. I called elise in hopes they could take me. I spoke with Scott and he asked how long I would be before I arrived, I told him I was across the street. He greeted me at the door and he took me right away. He was very nice and very efficient. The Negative: this salon basically rips you off. They sell a high priced nail service for watered down polish. I got a gel manicure and less than 24hrs, 8 of my nails chipped off like regular polish. I went on a Thursday, by Friday afternoon my nails were chipped off. I went back Saturday morning asking Scott to fix it, he did no problem. I was satisfied until I woke up on Sunday morning to one of the nails he fixed to be chipped again. AVOID AT ALL COST. YOU WILL WASTE YOUR MONEY. read more

I have been to many nail salons, both upscale and around-the-way, and this was the worst experience I've had. Where do I even begin. When booking my appointment, their employee said 6:30 was fine when I asked how late I could I come on a Thursday (because of work). Today I called to confirm my appointment and the person who answered encouraged me to come earlier because they close at 7pm and she wanted me to be relaxed. I appreciated her thoughtfulness as I was expecting "the works"! Not the case. For one, the man who worked on my pedicure lacked any emotion. In fact the whole staff seemed to lack genuine human emotion or the geniality I'm accustomed to at even the hoodest salons. This is on the Main Line! Do better! And then came the moment where my nail tech "reprimanded" me basically for not letting him know a few of my toenails were close to the skin when clipping them. HE ALMOST CAUSED ME TO BLEED and told me, not once, but three times: "You need to tell me next time. It's skin under your nail" You don't say? After a point I said. "OK, OK. Got it," because he just kept saying it. How about just being observant when clipping my toenails? I never had anyone have an issue clipping my nails ever. Am I supposed to be observing my toenails everyday to come into your salon and tell you how to clip them!? Just be an expert in what you do and not cut my skin. Don't blame the client. He buffed and filed in the most gentle manner. Barely even did it. The only redeeming aspect of this pedi was the massage and the fact that I got to leave quickly because it didn't last long. Which leads me to my other gripe. I now suspect that lady didn't care if I was relaxed, she just wanted to leave as soon as possible! Sometimes shops will accommodate people who come later in the evening but her insistence that I come early was clearly to get me in and out. Perhaps that was why the man who did my toes was just phoning it in, but regardless of the time, show emotion, be welcoming. No surprise, about 5 minutes after I pulled out of the parking lot and BEFORE 7PM, I saw the staff leaving in my rearview. I might as well have had a robot do my nails. I bought two Groupons and refunded one because I wouldn't dream of coming back here. read more

This was my first time going to Elise. Tania gave me the best pedicure I ever had in my life. It wasn't so much the nails as it was the foot and leg massage. Need I mention that warm towel at the end? I feel like I can run 20 miles on these puppies. I don't know what standard tips are for this sort of thing, but I started my tip at $5 when I walked in. One star only because this place is new; therefore, it looks clean, updated and nice. Too bad nothing else about this place was. I came here with the living social deal for the $15 pedicure. I should have gone anywhere else and paid more for it. I called ahead and made an appointment for a pedicure. They said sure no problem. I arrive and am swept away to a big luxurious chair - thinking this will be great. The guy never asked if I wanted my seat massage on, if the temperature was okay, and there was no water in the thing at all when I arrived, and it seemed everyone else had a pillow (which I never needed but was instantly overcome with pillow envy). I asked him if I could do a manicure too and he said nope, no appointment (see: employees doing nothing everywhere). So, I told the guy that I have really ticklish feet and to skip the foot massage and please be careful with the scrubbing or skip it. He's all smiles so I figured we were good. He starts doing my toes when all the sudden he leaves and comes back and is bonding my toenail back together!!! What! I didn't even realize what was happening until I got home, noticed the huge bump, and now I have only half of a toenail from this jerk (when the bonding wore off my nail came completely off). He never even acknowledged what it was that he just did. He giggled, glued, and acted like everything was normal. Anyway, then he continued with the massage and scrubbing which I asked him not too and he acted like he got some real joy out of this. Anyway, I'm glad I didn't get the manicure because I enjoy leaving nail salons with all of my nails intact. This was by far the worst pedicure I've ever had with service that tops the charts in rudeness. I have a $5 coupon off that came with my pedicure. Anyone want it? Just kidding. I found Elise Nails after buying a Living Social for a pedicure. Elise is brand new, and that shows. The salon is beautiful and clean. Overall, I was happy with my pedicure. The pedicurist buffed and scrubbed my feet and trimmed my cuticles. The whole thing took about 40 minutes including drying time. Used to be my favorite nail salon, now they seem understaffed and forget what customer service is. I stood at the front for 5 minutes being ignored and then was told to wait 10 minutes(fine, no problem). After 15 minutes of waiting, I left. There were 3 customers in there, 3 techs and me, no one at the front and no one else waiting. This is the second time I have walked in and been ignored. I came to this salon after a co-worker recommended it to me. after an awful experience at the place where I normally get my brows waxed, I decided to try elise nails since they only charge $10. I hate to spend more than that because my brows are mostly super fine, light blonde hairs. they don't require any major waxing/shaping. ok so long story short, they did an OK job. I sill had to pluck out some strays when I got home but I'll take it for $10. I also got a pedicure & they did a pretty good job. They give your legs a nice scrub & massage. I wouldn't consider it to be the BEST polish job I've ever seen but it was only $30 so, again, it'll take it. Other things to note: the salon is huge & it's beautiful, very clean! there must be 15 pedicure chairs. I went in on a Sunday & it was quiet when I got there but people kept coming in. As I was leaving, it seemed like they were running out of technicians. I would recommend making an appointment JUST to be on the safe side because although they have plenty of chairs, they may not have enough people working. also the massage chairs are super comfy & actually gave my back a good massage unlike most chairs that kind of just jiggle you around. in summary: this place would be a great place for a bridal party to come if you're on a tight budget since the prices are very fair & the space is huge. it will probably be my new go-to salon, mostly because of their prices but also because the service was decent. read more

My mother told me about Floris salons a little while ago. I have been a couple times now and I love it. I had a Groupon for the salon in Bryn Mawr. I purchased an additional 30 minute reflexology. I finally ventured out for a mani/pedi and found this salon to be very Covid-conscious. The space is large and airy, allowing them to distance the clients and it is appointment-only so they can control the number of people at one time. Unlike other nail salons I've been to where I feel like they rush me in and out, Elise had a true spa-like feel where I felt pampered and could relax. I decided to try this place after purchasing a groupon online for a gel manicure. I'm glad I did not pay the full $35. It is higher than most nail salons in my opinion, and I've been getting gel manicures for years. I had called early that morning to make an appointment and was told only 5:30 was available. That was fine, I took that appointment with no problem. I arrived right on time, but then was told by the owner/manager that they were running slightly behind, maybe 10-15 minutes. I ended up waiting close to 40 minutes. I contemplated coming back a different day, as it was getting late and I knew they closed at 7. I was taken finally after 6. My nail tech was nice, and did an overall good job. I was bleeding a bit on the side of my nail. It wasn't anything awful, but I think it was because she felt rushed. It was getting close to closing time, and the owner/manager ended up leaving before most of the girls did. He seemed like he was in quite a hurry 15 minutes before closing. Overall, it was not a great experience, as I've felt more welcomed in other salons. Perhaps I just caught them at a bad time. I travel 30 min To go to Elise nails for my pedicures. I love the one operator named Maria for pedicures. she takes her time and really makes my toes look great. I like the cleanliness and relaxing nature of salon. It is kept in good order and they only play classical music so it is truly spa like. They put plastic liners in the soaking tubs which I love. Pre-covid I've been to this salon a few times. Hands down was the best foot massage combo pedi. No comparison around! It was a good occasional treat. I've never had a manicure at this salon. As I didn't really want one. Even then I noticed the staff was a bit cold and inflexible. But the service was great for the green sea salt scrub. So I continued to go. Clientele interactions as limited as they are in any salon was a bit colder too. But I figured oh well I'm still going to enjoy myself and not here to make friends. Post covid, as a walk-in no accommodations and they will tell you it's another hour and half before you are seen meanwhile there is staff sitting around. Next time I called and made an appointment. But know I'm running late. I called just to inform them and they very very rudely said we cannot accommodate you. No offer at we can see you at this time or another day. I love this place! They do a great job every time. The people are friendly and the space is gorgeous. They usually do a regular manicure in the pedicure chairs bc they are the best massage chairs I've ever seen. The pedicure is really nice too. The shop is large, open, airy and sunny.
