What a sweet little nail shop! Tucked away in a small strip mall is this fantastic, woman-owned nail shop in Narberth. Inside you will find a very clean, well lit salon with friendly people who do meticulous work with a smile. Faithful Dining Companion and I headed over there to deal with some 'winter sloughing' - all this indoor heating and cold weather has wreaked havoc on our skin. The ladies greeted us genuinely, took excellent care of our feet, hands, and even eyebrows, all with a relaxed and engaging atmosphere. Two cousins Jennie and Tina own the salon, and they are doing a terrific job if this experience is typical. This is not a 'high end' salon but it is well appointed, clean and bright. My only pet peeve - and yes, it's a pet peeve. No paraffin wax for pedicures, only manicures. :( I'm possibly one of only about 10 people who thinks immersing my feet in hot wax is the epitome of excellence in pedicures. I feel for integrity's sake I have to take one star off but I hate to do it. Prices were very reasonable for what they do. Get an appointment, they're popular. They take walk ins only if they have space - they do not overbook. They do have discounts on Mondays through Wednesdays. read more

I don't know if I've ever written a negative review. However I came to Lovelies on Monday for a gel manicure, and three days later my nails are already cracked and chipped. I should've payed attention to the first red flag when the manicurist couldn't wait for my old gel to soak off and was SO rough on my nails. At one point I had to pull my hand away and ask to let the gel soak longer because it was so painful. Top Coat in Bryn Mawr is a great alternative to this place. read more

NOT SO LOVELY. made an appointment, showed up 4 minutes late because there is almost no parking. They gave our appointment away to two walk ins who claimed to have an appointment. They did not check their name. When we arrived they refused to try to find a way to fit us in. And said there was nothing they could do. Would never return. Looked divey. read more

The lady at the front desk greeted me when I came in. She asked my name and I told her I did not have an appointment. I asked for a mani pedi and she asked me to pick a color and then sit in a pedi chair she directed me to. A few minutes after I sat down, I was having my feet soaked my feet a bit and having my toe polish removed. At this point, the lady who greeted me talked to me from the desk and told me she had no time to do both a mani and a pedi because they were too busy with appointments. At that point, my toe polish was half off. I told her I could not come back since I was in Narberth just for a drs appointment. I asked her why she did not tell me this before I sat down in the massage chair. She would not budge and actually embarrassed me in front of the other staff and clients by talking in her language while also addressing me. Very rude. She didn't give me a choice of one or the other when I walked in. I would have chosen a much needed manicure. When I spoke up for myself, I was eventually offered a mani at the same time, which I told her I did not prefer because I wanted to relax during my pedicure. Relaxation was already ruined by her customer service. After my pedi was done, she called an employee outside and talked to her, they both looked at me. It was then that another staff person did my manicure in the seat at a manicure station. A customer should be accommodated when there is an issue such as this-not spoken to across the salon in front of other people. It was not my fault, she made the mistake. And then she tried to get me to leave and come later. I was grateful she acquiesced and let me have a manicure too, but the staff seemed rude about it. I was actually told that I should not ruin my nails once they are done because there was no time to have any of them fixed and that helping to remove something under my finger was disgusting to the nail tech. Then, I was basically given a karate chop on each shoulder as my massage and said that was it, no more time for me since her client was waiting. Definitely will not go back, not a cool experience. This place is awesome - they are friendly and do a great job! I had a very relaxing experience here. I wasn't rushed, and they included lots of extras like a hot stone massage and a paraffin wax treatment. They offer specials Monday-Wednesday and occasionally show up on deal websites. I like this place a lot. Mainly bcs of the quality of service. This is not a glam spot by all means. it's been cheaply re-done. I think its clean. not quite sure as I only get gel mani. I am in and out. Tina does my nails and I think her work is superb. A bit pricey but worth the money if it last 10-14 days, right?! there are other more fancy places on Main Line, but this one gets it done, quickly and efficiently and it lasts. The pedicures are well done- good scrubbing, nail shaping & massage with hot rocks & they last! Love the massage chairs and there is massage offered while drying. I also get gel manicures here - again very nice job - long lasting. Staff is very friendly. It is a good neighborhood salon. read more

I make a point to visit Lovelies every time I'm in Philadelphia. My manicure lasts for a month and the free shoulder massage is amazing. Also, the regular pedicure comes with a hot rocks massage and warm towels. Really can't ask for a better deal. read more

This place doesn't even deserve a star. While I was getting a pedicure, I saw that the owners greeted EVERY customer when they came in and said good byes and thanks as they left. I was pretty impressed about this. When I checked in, I noticed that the girls who seemed to be owners spoke Korean. Since this is my native language, I was delighted to have found a possibly Korean owned nail salon in town. I said hello in Korean, but the owner smirked at me. When it was time for me to leave, neither the owners nor employees bothered to say anything. I walked out from the shop feeling very annoyed and upset. This experience was totally what people would call "reverse discrimination." Never again!!! Worst customer service, perhaps only to Asians! read more

Wow, seriously? First they said I couldn't tip on the card after I tried to get cash out but their atm was broken. Then they said it was fine, I could just put it on the card. Then the owner or whoever this woman was said I needed cash because my bill was less than $20. I asked her where that protocol was posted. She replied "It's not posted anywhere, we just don't do that." Well how is someone supposed to know that if it's not posted? She was really rude. The manicure was very mediocre. I will just stick with figi on haverford rd for manis and I swear by Snow for waxing at the eagle road figi location. I won't give this owner another cent. Also parking is HORRIBLE and its located in this tiny lot with horrible, sadistic diagonal parking spaces. read more

Love this place. It's clean, they take their time, do careful work, and offer friendly and accommodating service. They also include extras, run specials, and have discounted gift certificates. The quality of the manicures/pedicures is top notch - no chips, smears, or fading; the manicures run at least 7-10 days; pedicures at least 2 weeks. There is an ATM inside. read more

This review is slightly delayed as I went here back in April and completely forgot to past after my wonderful experience. First off, it's super clean and it was open on Easter Sunday! My family no longer lives in the area and I was looking for a little pick-me-up since I wasn't having dinner with the fam on a holiday. Lovelies was open and ready to pamper me. Mani/pedi and an eyebrow wax will run around $65 (including tip) so it's not cheap, but well worth the cost. I left feeling perked up and pretty. The employees are really nice, do a wonderful job and my manicure last a week. Amazing. Happy to have snagged the Living Social deal for the $14 hot stone pedi. Whoot! read more

I debated rating Lovelies because I don't go too often, it's more of a convenience for me because it's so close. I've went here a hand full of times and every time I walk out not thrilled about what I paid for. The prices are outrageous. I paid $90 for regular pedi, gel mani, and eye brows. I could have gotten a layover w/ gel, a gel pedi, and eye brows for $45 in South Philly. Amy I believe knows faces. She remembers people and I like that. Makes you feel welcomed. The girls that work there are sweet but there Isn't just one person that works on you which triples the tip and that's discouraging. I would recommend this place for convenience only! Nice hidden gem in Narberth. Was a little hesitant to come in since the windows are dark and I wasn't sure if it was even open. However once inside, I was pleasantly surprised that it was clean and the staff friendly. The pedi I got was quick and relaxing. Extra points for the hot stone massage on your legs at the end! Rudi was amazing! Great selection of colors for gels. Prices are are pricier but what you'd expect from the Main Line. This is one local business I will definitely be supporting! read more

Found this cute little nail salon after I was in a panic after work thinking that I had a "first date" the following evening (we'll save that story for another day). This place is located down the road from my home so I decided to give it a try - the staff is extremely friendly and pleasant! I was pleased with the job on my pedicure and gel manicure and with the variety in selection of colors to choose from, not to mention the hot stone massage. The only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that the price is a bit steep, coming from Jersey I'm used to this costing about $35/$40 not $60, guess that is part of living on the Main Line! Decent nail salon in an area littered with nail salons. Wound up here (with an appointment made) since it's very near my parents' and I visit them constantly, so I want a go-to nail place. The regulars are greeted warmly, were greeted warmly, space made for them, etc. Newcomers...not so much. I was moved around and even had the technician switched on me mid-service since apparently someone else wanted the person. I'll forgive a lot but not switching staff. Not going back. read more

This was my 2nd time at the salon, my first experience was nice and sadly second time was so bad I more than likely won't be back. I went in for a mani/pedi and eye brow based on convenience, prices are the highest in the are. My mani and pedi were done nicely. It was the level of service and attitude by the owner that was bad. I asked simple questions as in how long is the wait for brows, and the response was negative. I once went to this salon often as it is not far from where I live. Last summer the part owner gave me a pedicure and buffed my foot so hard that she broke open my skin and I was bleeding. The owner tried to say it was a blister, but I have never had any blisters and I also had witnesses who saw it happen as well. Of course it got infected and was treated, but I am now left with a small scar. There are plenty of other places who are much cleaner and professional. I would beware going to this salon. read more

I have gotten several pedicures here- very friendly staff and relaxing experience. Loved the foot/leg massage with hot stone! Many fun colors to choose from. I was disappointed to pick a color from the OPI line and then learn that those colors are $3 extra. There is a small sticker that notes the extra cost but it is easy to miss. This is one of the worst nail salon I have ever been to. Most of the people there do not speak English . They use that to pretend like they don't know what services you want and then to try to charge you extra in the end. The girl that did my gel manicure could not get the French tip straight so she kept trying to wipe it off and the gel does not wipe off easily so she damaged my nails and then wanted me to pay extra for the crappy work that she did. I accidentally left my phone in their store and they literally kidnapped my phone and refused to return it until I paid them the extra $7. I ended up paying $42 for the worst manicure of my life. Honestly i was on the border between 3 and 4... Its a pretty small salon, not as fancy as some others around. They get booked so call a few days ahead... I really enjoyed my pedicure (and the lady was really nice too). I didnt like my manicure as much because they tried to do it at the same time to save time... (Schedule separately if possible) The manicure was also missing the paraffin/mud mask advertised on the website (very annoying) Overall they did a good job but the few things mentioned above should be taken into consideration. read more

This is a very nice salon. They are friendly and do a very good job. It is clean. I think the prices are very reasonable. The standard manicure includes paraffin treatment and two brief but wonderful neck massages. I have gone to many salons in Philadelphia and in the Narberth/Ardmore area and I have to say for the money Lovelies is by far the best place I've gone to. They are very professional and clean and they do things for you like the paraffin wax and hot stone massage as a standard feature with their manis and pedis whereas you would usually have to pay extra for that stuff. They will also give you a back massage while you're drying your nails which is also a very nice plus. They are all super friendly and will actually try to talk with you and all of the people I've had do a really nice job with painting. I would highly recommend Lovelies for any of my family and friends, its great quality for not that much money! read more

I would not recommend this place at all. I gave it a try through my groupon. I got a mani and pedi. The person who did my nails was so rough. She pulled at legs at arms when trying to polish which led me to be uncomfortable the entire time!
