When our garage door wouldn't stay closed, we called for an apportionment and they were able to see us same day without charging a premium for the immediate service. The office was responsive, called us back even earlier than promised, and they were very communicative regarding the arrival time of our technician. When he arrived, he walked us through the issue and how he was going to fix it, and he offered suggestions on how to improve our current system without being pushy. The only drawback to the great service and knowledgeable team? Their rates. As of June 2021, the service call was a flat rate of $95 plus $85 per half hour. So it adds up fast. read more

I should have read the reviews before calling. Service was good but the price gauging is awful. They charged $125 to come out. (Normally this would be subtracted from the total cost) Technicians didn't give me a full estimate until the job was done. They wrote it out but it was never given to me. EX of gauging - They charged $94 per wheel when you can get a pair of wheels on Amazon for $64. They also said they had to use two 10 feet chains but never quoted it until I saw the bill. On Amazon, it was $39 for 20 feet vs $86 for each 10 feet. Pro tip, don't hire them. Shady company. read more

I would never call this company for service. they serviced our door king system and made some adjustments to the lobby door mechanism. The door did not function and the system went down 2 days after servicing. Called them several time to repair the doors/fobs to make them operational, it took them over a week to return. It left the occupants of the building in a venerable state as no one could enter or exit from the main lobby doors. Once they return we were charged additional charges of $385 for the return for the repair still leaving the doors not operational. I called our building locksmith. He was out within 6 hours of the call and restored the door knob mechanisms, the strike plate and adjusted it due to Marco filing it down and opening the door knob mechanisms that left it in a nonoperational state. Once it was replaced by the locksmith we regained use of the doors. Elite Access fees and charges are exorbitant. I would never use them again and had them removed from a list of vendors. read more

The positives: the technician, Arturo, is well-intentioned and tries his best. They took my call for service quickly and he arrived on time. The negatives: 1) The pricing is not reasonable. Our gate wouldn't close because of the winds. We paid almost $1,500 and it still won't close because of the wind even though we were told that the repairs would fix the problem. 2) Now we're being told that the new photo eye is shaking because of the winds and that's why it's not closing. The gate was working without a problem before this situation. So they could have just told us to go with the manual solution instead of $1,500 worth of repairs until the wind improved. 3) We paid by Zelle to avoid the 5% credit card surcharge but I would recommend paying that 5% so you can dispute when problems are unresolved, which is what I'm facing right now. read more

Call Box on front gate was installed by Elite five years ago. Stopped working over the weekend. I was told over the phone that there would be a $95 service call fee. Then $80 per half hour of work. They came out, opened the call box, followed the phone line to the switchboard. They said when they first arrived the problem could be with AT&T. They were here 35 minutes. They charged me $255 and told me I had to call AT&T. They charged me $255 and nothing was fixed. I expected to pay at least $95 for the service call. I would have been ok if I was charged $175 for the service call and half hour of time. They charged me $255 and nothing was fixed. I would have been happy to pay $255 if it was fixed. *****Update****The phone company came out to fix what Elite told me was a phone company responsibility when they left with my $255 check. "Don't let AT&T tell you that it's not their responsibility," was the advise I was given. AT&T said there is nothing wrong with the phone line. We called Elite back, they said they would come out again but only if we removed the negative Yelp review AND would have to charge us $95. read more

I contacted Elite Access Doors and Gates yesterday because I was happy with a previous job they did on my electric gate a few years ago. Unfortunately, things have changed - in a bad way. My gate stopped functioning properly & I contacted Elite Access. After their receptionist told me about the $125.00 charge for the visit, their technician came & diagnosed the problem - corrosion on a supporting section, allowing the gate to sag. I was quoted a price of $1,800.00 to secure the support beam. Their invoice had a "Paperwork Fee" of $104.75 - which I was never told about. Their labor rate is $80.00 per half hour. The $1,800.00 quote became $2,189.75. Then the locking magnet needed to be replaced. For that, their office sent me an estimate of $1,334.00 - for a magnet that they claimed cost $900.00. Another company I hired today is replacing the magnet for $600.00 & it only takes a few minutes to replace. And their price for the entire job, including replacing two of the old batteries in the electric panel is far less than Elite's price - without the two batteries. And I'm also getting a one-year warranty. Several bad reviews speak volumes about Elite Access. There is no reason to be ripped off, so I'd stay away from them. read more

I have seen similar reviews here and I understand all the 1 start reviews...I called this company to take a look at the gate motor not working. I was made aware of the $125 flat trip charge and half-hour $80 labor charge, HOWEVER when I was presented with the estimate and type of fixes, I decided not to proceed given the very high cost. So, I ended up paying for the $125 trip charge + $80 labor every half hour (2 hours, so the total was $445) just to receive the estimate!! Labor charges are normally applied to the actual fix and not the estimate. I have never experienced that, so I was very disappointed when I found out. The company should make it VERY CLEAR when confirming a booking with a client. Just a suggestion, the $125 should be the total cost of the estimate with additional NO SURPRISES.
