Paid over $500.00 for a technician to repair our washer. The issue wasn't repaired and we can't get their technician to return our calls. Update: The repair is still a work in progress, with assistance from the manufacturer's tech support. Elite tech spent several hours working on the problem. Additional parts have been ordered and will be installed at no charge. So, I'm optimistically upgrading my rating to 4/5. read more

I am left without a working fridge after waiting 1 month for a new compressor to be installed!! I purchased a brand new Frigidaire refrigerator from Home Depot on May 20th. After a few days, every time I opened the freezer and or fridge door it had a rumbling sound. I waited for service to troubleshoot the problem. I had the same service man all 3 times. The service man came on July 23rd to install a new compressor! He did all the work and found that the mother board that came in the kit with it was cracked.. He apologized, said he would order me another compressor and left me with a completely dead fridge! The technician who arrived did not seem properly trained and struggled with basic steps, including opening the appliance. At one point, he even had to look up instructions online, which was concerning for a professional service. Overall, the service felt unprofessional and not worth the cost. Technician was on the phone speaking another language the entire time they were at my house. I had another company come take a look at the dishwasher and immediately found a damaged hose. I have a viking fridge that was making a strange noise. I called Elite and they sent out great technician. The parts were ordered and another great technician came to install the part. The next day I called to say that my fridge was not cold. I was told the technician would be out Thur or Friday. I called Friday afternoon and was toldthe technician would call me with a time to come by. Now its Sunday of a three day weekend. READ ON - DO NOT USE THIS SERVICE COMPANY I am starting this review by referencing Service Order #610303, as this company frequently uses missing order numbers as an excuse to avoid responding to negative reviews--of which there are many. go to their review page and press the lowest. There are so many you'll be reading for A LONG TIME. Please also check their Better Business Bureau reviews they are super bad. General Electric assigned Elite Appliance to repair my GE garage freezer. GE advised that "Elite" would contact me within 24 hours; this did not happen. It took nearly a week for them to call and schedule an appointment. When Fred, the "technician" arrived, he briefly looked at the freezer in my garage and then went to his car without saying anything. After 30 minutes, I checked on him and discovered--via my security cameras--that he had left without notifying me, leaving my garage door open with tools and equipment unattended. I only learned he had left after calling "Elite", who said he needed parts. Basic courtesy would have required him to inform me so I could secure my garage. "Elite" then told me they needed GE approval to order parts. While I was on the phone with "Elite", I was told that GE had already approved the parts and they would be ordered. Another week and a half passed before I was told the parts had arrived and a new appointment was scheduled. The day before the appointment, "Elite" cancelled, claiming one of the parts was defective. After numerous follow-up calls, another appointment was finally confirmed for December 2nd between 1-4 PM. On the day of service, the "technician" (Fred) called me at 11:00 AM and asked me to move the freezer from the garage into the house because it would be "too cold" for him. This was extremely unprofessional, as "Fred/Elite" already knew the freezer was located in the garage and should have considered outdoor conditions when scheduling. I suggested that I would provide a heater to keep Fred warm, Fred's comeback was asking me the technical specifications of the heater, after provided the technical specifications for the heater, Fred then asked what kind of fuel the heater is operating under?????? After a series of excuses, Fred then stated he was actually "sick." I asked Fred if he is sick and wanted to move freezer inside my house, then he's is willing to infect my entire family with his sickness, does that make any sense to anyone?? After I expressed concern about someone sick entering my home, he said he wanted to save his sick days for when he's really sick, which made no sense. Either he was pretending to be sick to avoid working in the cold, or he was willing to enter my home while ill--both unacceptable. When I called "Elite" to escalate the issue and asked to speak with a manager, I was told the number I called 416-848-0670 only reaches a call center and that no management was available. I then contacted General Electric, who informed me they have received numerous complaints about "Elite" Appliance and are reviewing their relationship with them. I am writing this review as a warning to anyone considering this company. Please read their reviews carefully. Based on my personal experience, this company is a complete waste of time. The "technicians" are unprofessional, communication is poor, and accountability is nonexistent. Please read my review before you hire this company. Electrolux had Elite Appliance Service to repair my brand-new Electrolux washer under the manufacture's warranty. The issue is the washer door cannot close. The company scheduled a technician's visit to my house. The technician came to do the work. He was very unprofessional by asking me (the client) to help him to move the washer around. In addition, after spending about 10 minutes on inspecting the door issue, he told me the door lock needs to be replaced. However, it will take about 2 weeks to order the part. Once the part arrives, then they will call me to schedule a time for them to come to replace the old part. I am very upset since I must wait another two weeks or even loner to have my washer repaired. I am expecting the company to fix the washer in a week as I already described the door-lock issue to the manufacturer, and the manufacturer has created a service ticket to the service company. In addition, the company has claimed that their service is both of precision and prompt as authorized service company. I was assigned to Elite Appliance because of a Frigidaire fridge under manufacturer warranty. Their technician came to my house on 4 separate occasions to fix the fridge. The fridge was deemed unrepairable on the 4th service call. I was told that Frigidaire will contact me to arrange for a replacement fridge. When I contacted Frigidaire, they had no records of the last 3 visits. I was kicked around like a ball between the two companies for a couple of days. Then I was able to get someone from Elite to verify with their technician the work done on my fridge. After clarify that everything I said was true, Elite then said, they cannot update Frigidaire because my file is closed. Disappointing experience with this company. GE had Elite come out for a warranty service call for a loud fridge. There was a loud secondary noise beyond the noise of the compressor fan. The service person came in, said everything was completely normal and that there was nothing to be done about the noise. I went to listen to 2 relatively new fridges of friends, and the secondary noise is much quieter on theirs. So we decided to ask GE to send another technician as a last effort before returning the fridge. They sent one of their technicians. Turns out there is something that can be installed to reduce the noise (that apparently comes from the more environmentally gas used). Not happy that I wasted a day (and had to wait another two weeks for the second technician to come) for a technician to come in, not take the issue seriously, and not provide available solutions. Obviously, this is one technician who wasn't thorough in his job, but because of this, I would not use Elite myself and would request another company if they are recommended for warranty service. read more

Dish washer repair. The technician worked very hard and in a dedicated manor to fix our problem but it took 4 visits and many hours. The service manager Ryan was not very customer friendly in his approach. I left him a number of phone messages which he did not return. When I did finally get him on the phone with a concern about paying for two different parts when they were not certain if the issue was caused by one part or another he was not helpful. So I may have paid 220 dollars for a part that may not have been the problem when it might have been fixed by an 80 dollar part only.Then the final invoice was higher than the quote I had received and when I said I wanted to check to see if I could get some of it covered under warranty he threatened to take the parts out if I didn't pay before the technician left the house and said I did not even have 10 mins to check the warranty despite us having had the poor hard working tech in the house at night for a total of 8 hours over 4 visits. WORST REPAIR EXPERIENCE EVER! I'm a busy mom of 4 kids under 12, who works full-time. Needless to say for me to post a review means I'm really ticked off especially since I have worked directly with people my whole life. Thermador couldn't come and fix my oven in time for a party, so I saw Elite appliance on their preferred list of appliance repair people. They came out and fixed a faulty ignitor in my gas range in 30 min. The bill was an astounding $811, but I bit my tongue and was thinking it is unlikely I'll need a repair again. Boy was I wrong. I only used the oven 2 other times over the summer because we eat light, bbq'd food and salads in the summer. I rarely use my full range. So I was surprised in July when I had to bake something, it wasn't working again. Same problem the ignitor. This was 3 days before we went on a family vacation. I didn't have time to deal with it then so I emailed Elite twice and called once with NO RESPONSE. Finally, on my 4th attempt, I got a hold of Ryan, the service manager, who was completely unapologetic that they didn't get back to me. Furthermore, he spoke condescendingly to me doubtful about how much I really used the oven. He gave me a sob story about how his guy wouldn't get paid if they sent him out without a fee. Boy, I'm in the wrong business because I paid over $400 for the 1st guy to visit for 30 min. Now they want another $300 to come out and I'm not even confident they know how to fix the oven These service guys must be breaking out the DOM Perignon nightly with that pay rate. The right thing to do, would be to come out no charge and fix the oven properly and set things right. Fantastic service, great communication and friendly honest repair. I was visiting Toronto on business and had rented an apartment for the week I was in town. Upon arrival I realised I should have spent more time vetting my rental condominium. The fridge, a Samsung was iced over inside and not cooling properly and the dryer, a whirlpool did not heat. I called my property manager about the issue and he made a call to the people at Elite Appliance Repair. Here's where the wow factor comes in, Elite had a technician who would be in the area the next morning and we were given a call and confirmed the appointment. Sunny texted me first thing letting me know he had pre screened my call and felt confident he could get us fixed today and advised he would arrive around 930am. Ding Dong 921am he arrived promptly with tools and tablet in hand he greeted us with a smile and I was very impressed with how he carried himself and his obvious knowledge of the two problems we had. The dryer needed a part, some sort of thermostat and it was fixed so we started a load of laundry immediately while he turned to the fridge. This was a little more of a handful but ultimately he got it tore apart and put back together within the hour and guaranteed its operation. Awesome, they worked well with our schedule and communicated with both us and the landlord who paid the bill and we were able to go grocery shopping while the laundry got done. The place was great for the week with no additional appliance issues and thanks to the team at Elite my business trip was a huge success!!!!! read more

I called Elite Appliance in May 2019 because my AEG induction stovetop. I called again in July when they came and it still would not work - something to do with the control board. I do not live in the unit, and my tenant has been unbelievable in not complaining about it - he eats out a lot. I called today, February 2020, and Greg who answered the phone was very dismissive in telling me that the repairman would not have left without the stovetop working. The very fact that I had to call him in July after the initial May visit tells me that they were not being honest. I had a very frustratingly long experience with this company that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Dealing with them means making multiple phone calls and getting told that someone will call back, even though no one does. They will not honor promises they made earlier and make you feel like you're scamming them, even though they're the ones who take your money and don't fix the problem. And forget about getting even a partial refund. If you paid and your appliance still doesn't work, you might as well kiss that money goodbye as you won't be seeing it again. Don't brush off the negative reviews you read here and elsewhere and be aware that they make you take down negative reviews if you want them to proceed in dealing with an issue. I called Elite after my freezer and fridge stopped cooling one evening. I had a technician come in, check the compressor, as it wasn't working, and say it was the overload protect and the thermistor assembly that needed to get replaced. We proceeded with the repair but it was just our luck as one of the parts was not available. No one told us about this as we waited and waited for a call back to set up an appointment for the repair. I finally had to call in and demand when it'd arrive but still was not given a clear date of arrival for this part. Only after writing a review, did someone finally reach out and give me a confirmed date. This is now 2 weeks after the initial diagnosis. Luckily we had a neighbor that let us use their fridge and the condo party room fridge was also available during certain times. But still, a major inconvenience. After the part comes in, a new technician comes in to install the part. The fridge starts to cool and he leaves. However, when I wake up the next morning, my freezer is pumping warm air again! I call again to get the tech to come back and figure out what's wrong. This is now many weeks without having a working fridge. The same tech comes in and has to call LG to figure out what to do. I stay with him this time around and from the conversation I heard between him and the LG rep, it didn't seem like the Elite Appliance tech was very knowledgeable about the fridge that I had. After the call with LG, he calls his manager and they agree it's now the PC board that's broken. This comes as a surprise as I've now thrown close to $350 into the first repair only to find out that there's now more parts to repair. (Interesting side note is that I consulted with another repair tech and he says that the way the first tech preformed the original diagnosis could've caused the PC board to break, as the 3-IN-1 tool he used is a hard start kit that uses a start capacitor and a start capacitor will short PC boards.) The tech leaves and I'm still without a working fridge. I get a call back from the service manager saying that the PC board will cost around $100. However, he calls back the next day and says it's discontinued. I'm shocked. I now have a fridge which doesn't work and I'm out $350 with nothing to show for it. How can you call yourselves professionals if you can't figure out the problem from the get go? Sensing that I'm super frustrated, they offer me a coupon for a future call (why would I use their service ever again?) and get this, it expires after 1 year! And a *draw* for a gift card. These guys sure are ballsy at offering something so measly after having charge close to $350. I say that's not good enough and he says that he'll talk to his boss about it again. I have to call back every day for the next few days as it seems like they hope I'll just forget about it. They finally offer me a $60 gift card and that's as far as they'll go. Ridiculous! I ask to speak with his boss regarding this but he threatens that if I escalate with him, that anything that I was offered before, might be off the table. I say fine, as I've never experienced anything like that with any other company that knows how to deal with customers. Again, I have to call back over and over to get an update. I finally get through and get told that they can give me a number of a guy who they've used before to repair PC boards for difference appliances and that they'll come to take out the part and put it back in after. However, they won't be covering the cost of the actual repair and won't be responsible for anything that he does. Which begs to question, why would I spend more money on this if I can't get any sort of guarantee?! The crazy part was that if he determined that they PC board was fine, they'd want written proof and would then send it out to a 3rd party to do another test on it. So basically, they wouldn't even stand by the guy that they originally recommended. Terrible Service We have a 2yr old gas stove from GE, Profile series and the electronic board stopped working in December, right before Christmas, so no oven. In addition, our gas ignitors never worked properly. After we were passed around a bit, GE acknowledged that they would cover the cost to fix our 2 issues. We were sent to Elite Appliances to schedule and appointment. An appointment was scheduled, the part was ordered and when the technician came, he told us that we just had a disconnected wire, we insisted that he replace the whole board bc we had a feeling it wasn't just the wire (we did a lot of reading up on our particular model after it broke), but the tech insisted it was fixed. We asked about the ignitors since they were part of the service call and he replaced those. One week later, the board stopped working again. Another service call to Elite Appliances was placed for the electronic board to be fixed. A tech came back, but had the wrong electronic board and said he'd come back with the correct one. We mentioned to the tech that our ignitors were still not working properly. He checked the back of our stove and said our ignitors weren't working b/c rats chewed the wires. They closed our file and left us a voicemail that they were not going to replace the electronic board which was the main reason for the call in the first place. It is now March and not only do we still not have an oven, but our ignitors are still glitchy and the Elite Appliances tech left the screws out of our stove electronic board telling us he'd be back with the correct one, giving us false hope. Judging by all the bad reviews, maybe brand name appliance companies need to stop sending their customers to Elite Appliances for service calls. My 2003 GE range stove stopped working. I called GE and was given 2 numbers for GE certified technicians. One of them was unlisted, no website, etc. The other one was Elite Appliance. I schedule for service, they gave me a time windows and they arrived on time, I also received a text message giving me an ETA before their arrival. Conan and his coworker were polite and professional. They gave me an explanation of what could be the problem, after the inspection they gave me a breakdown on labor and parts with an option for GE original or universal parts. I went for original parts since the difference was only $30. Conan took the time to explain everything and after installing the new part they tested the stove several times. It all costed around $400 including parts and labor, much less than buying a brand new range! They took the time to clean up after and they looked at my fridge and tightened the door and made sure everything was fine for free. I got an estimate from a tech guy for almost $900. It is for a fridge repair. He basically listed all the fridge most expensive parts that would need to be replaced plus the labor cost. He also said the job includes cutting a hole in a back panel and then welding it afterwards. That sounded like a nonsense to me, so I declined and paid $125 for his visit. I found another repair service in a few days and got the job done in 40 min for a fraction of their estimate. Just a filter drier has been replaced, not any other part. They broke dryer upon initial consultation and force me to pay additional fees for labour and parts. Called to complaint with their head office senior manger, they blamed all responsibility on the technicians who are not well trained. Our refrigerator conked out in the last few days of January. It would beep incessantly when we opened either the fridge or freezer doors and the temperature began to rise slowly. My wife called Elite Appliance and they sent someone within a few days. John was our technician. He diagnosed a heater problem, but also advised that it might not necessarily be the only problem because of the interconnected mother board. They checked the warehouse and sadly the needed part had to be ordered in. They told us it would take two weeks, and it did. The day after it arrived John was back and installed the heater and told us not to start loading up the fridge for 24 hours. Today, Michelle and I are gob-smacked over the great service and professionalism executed by the entire Elite Appliance team. Not impressed. My Samsung dryer broke shorty after 5 year warranty expired. Service guy came out and said it was a part in the motor. I asked if he was sure it wasn't the belt. He said rarely do belts break. When he came back a week later with the part, he informed me that the belt was also broken. I wasted a week without a dryer only to send him away saying that with that extra cost, I'd probably be better just buying a new one. He said they would call me with a quote anyway just in case I change my mind. It's been almost a week and have not received a quote or refund for the part. I used Elite Applicance when my LG washing machine broke. They were the company LG recommended. The repair technician - Jamie- was great. 5 stars for him! The business side however I found very lacking. I called at 3:45pm on a Thursday before a long weekend, and got the answering machine. Fair enough. The message said they were open until 4:30 or 5pm, but it being a long weekend, I'm not surprised that no one picked up. I left a message. When I was not called back for over a week, I called back. Again, no one picked up, I left another message. When they did return my call they informed me that I would need to call LG back and get another order code for them as is had been too long! They sent Jamie, he fixed our washer. However we only managed to do one load of laundry before it gave us the same error message. We called back. Left a message. We have been without a working machine for 4 weeks at this point. They were not able to send someone for 8 days. 5 weeks without a working machine it is. I said that since they only had one time/date they could come that I would take my lunch break, and drive up when they arrived, but I told them I would require 20 minutes notice of their arrival. They somehow did not let their repair man know this, and he called the alternate contact number, and was stuck waiting on the porch. When the office finally called to let me know he was there I rushed home. Jamie fixed the machine. He was very nice. I did laundry. We called upon Elite Appliance to diagnose our leaky fridge. Their technician came (Conan Yang), diagnosed and supposedly fixed the issue. Subsequently at the 45 day mark, the issue resurfaced. We called the company but because it's not within their window of 30 day warranty, they are charging us another quote. We decided to not proceed with this company because we are not satisified with their original assessment (their ability to diagnose and fix the problem properly). We are concerned that they are again going to offer another short term fix, wait until the 30 day warranty window has passed, and offer another quote. read more

This is extremely unprofessional, poor ethic and work quality company and it's staff that it's not even funny. I hired them based on 4+ star Google review, however it turned out most of the 5 star reviews are fake - as confirmed by the technician who came to inspect my fridge. He fiddled around it, watched a video on You Tube on the possible causes of ice defroster at the rear of the fridge, and finally gave it a try. I confirmed my suspicion moments later, when I heard a cracking noise from the fridge interior - it was a plastic piece which got stuck to the ice. Perhaps he could've worked on manually defrosting the fridge and ice within, prior to starting any work? Anyway, nothing was repaired, I had to order a new product from Samsung for the broken plastic piece, the company owned the $20 cost for the piece, however charged me for the technician's time (even though he didn't fix anything, and referred me to contact Samsung), and wanted to charge me again for the broken piece to be put back in place by another technician. Eventually, after contacting Samsung, i was told to pay out of pocket for the fix, and that they would recommend some other company for the repairs. Horrible, horrible experience with Elite Appliances. They failed to show up on 3 separate occasions without even a call. I was forced to use them as part of the warranty for my new Blomberg fridge that came with my condo. It's going on 4 months now even at the lowest settings my fridge (not freezer section) freezes everything in it. I've had to throw out countless amounts of veggies, as food keeps thawing and freezing. Parts we've had to wait weeks for have been replaced numerous times, they're sent 3 different repairman each with different opinions about what's wrong, Please, please beware of Blomberg Fridges and Elite Appliance Service. eliteappliance.ca. They are a horrible combination. Still not sure when my fridge will be fixed :( Update: August 26, 2013 Fridge still not working properly. Everything is still freezing. Going on 6 months now. Last technician (2 weeks ago) said the fridge was missing some kind of drain plug and that's why its freezing. How could 3 previous repairmen not notice that?? Really? COME ON!! He said they would order the plug but haven't heard anything from them in 2 weeks. As always I have to follow-up with them or I'll never hear from them. Also, the service manager Jennifer is very hard to get a hold of. Doesn't call back when she says she will, is always "with a customer" or "busy" when you try to call her. You're left to deal with this guy that is extremely patronizing and clueless . I've asked to speak with the owner in the past (after 3 months trying to get my fridge fixed) or get his email but of course I'm told "that's not possible". BEWARE OF ELITE APPLIANCE. read more
