This was my first visit since becoming Elite Armory. I had been to the former Tracy Rifle and Pistol many times. Overall I was impressed with the clean display of firearms and accessories. Staff seemed knowledgeable and helpful. One thing that was a bit unexpected was the cost to rent a lane, $18.00. Was $15.00 under the former owners at this location. I understand that they have tons of red tape and cost associated with running a gun range but a $3.00 jump seemed a bit much. I am also an NRA instructor and used to receive a $5.00 discount at Tracy Rifle and Pistol when shooting there. I referred many new shooters, friends and family to them who ultimately purchased firearms and accessories there. When I asked about an NRA instructor discount I was told "No" we don't do that at Elite Armory. I am glad that a range still exist in Tracy. Good luck Elite Armory Plus. read more

One of the best ranges in the Bay area! I went to Elite Armory Plus in Tracy for training by Expert Firearms Training LLC and used their range. We purchased ammo from them to use in the range. The range has state of the art equipment and it is well ventilated. Tracy can be hot and that's a plus. I Know That Due to Current Pandemic and Covid Standards Life and Business's are gonna be different. I Totally Understand and Have No Problem w/ That. But With All of That Understood Being Rude and Obnoxious After Someone Has Patiently Waited over 45 Minutes to Spend a Few Thousand Dollars or Even For The Person that came to Spend $20 is Totally Unacceptable. I had Waited for Over 15 minutes Outside in The Dustbowl that Blows in between This Building and The Chevron in Front of it Before Someone Came out to Some What Greet Me and Put My Name and Phone Number into The Tablet to Get a Call When it Was My Turn to Go In and Do My Shopping. From What I Could See There Were Approximately 4 People Working at This Store. I Continued Waiting Outside on This Very Warm Afternoon in The Dust Bowl After Walking over to The Chevron to Get a Bottle of Water just to realize that I Had No Access to a Restroom at The Gas Station or at The Range/Gun Store That I Was Attempting to Patronize. I was Outside for 45 and After Watching The Staff Come and Pull at Least 5-8 Groups of People In to Go to The Range, some had Appts. and Some Did Not. After Watching This Happen At Least 8-10x's I Was Grower Rather Tired of This Line that Was Only picked from Once Not Move and Decided to Ask The Next Employee from This Store How The Line Works. Rather Rudely He said, " You Just Have to Wait and To Get Used to The New Rules of California " . I Expressed back that, " I Have Been Waiting Rather Patiently Out Here for over 45 Minutes Watching You Guys Pull In Walk Ups and Appt People for The Range but No One from This Retail Line who Have Come to Make Purchases. I Have Come All of The Way from Vallejo to Tracy to Buy some ammunition and a scope. And You Guys Have bot Pulled Anyone fFrom This Line in Some Time " . The Guy Smarted Off and said a Few Choice Words and as He Walked in, He Said ," Thank California for That ". I Left Completely Empty Handed and Went to Bass Pro Shops to Make My Purchases After Waiting to Try and Patronize a Small Local Business that I Have Been Buying from since They Arrived in Tracy and Were By The Mall. Awesome set up. Did a PPT a while back and the owner, Gabe, personally took care of me. Other employees are knowledgeable and extremely friendly unlike the traditional Stigma that most armories carry. Place is clean and have a great selection of Benellis. They reload their own ammo and sell it (comparable prices) for their indoor range. The biggest plus is that they are open on Sundays. read more

Was here this afternoon to shoot a couple hundred rounds and try two 1911s recently acquired. Was given a lane beside someone relentlessly shooting a shotgun. They must have noticed I step back whenever the neighbor was shooting to avoid piercing loud shotgun blasts. Rigo, a range officer, approached me and asked if I want to be moved to a different lane far away. Without me asking! Who does that? Well Elite Armory does! They constantly monitor shooters primarily for safety reasons but also to ensure everyone has a great time at the range. They simply care! Ten stars to you guys. read more

As a woman I was super nervous about purchasing a firearm by myself. I was worried about how I would be treated as a woman in such an establishment. My fears were eliminated from start to finish at this place. Great service all around. Especially during the pick up of my firearm. David walked me through the ins and outs of my weapon and made sure I was comfortable and at ease. He was extremely professional and knowledgeable. Clean facility. Everything you need here including rentals and ammunition, PPE equipment, etc.. Knowledgeable, friendly staff. Layout is just about the same as when thit used to be T. R. A. P. Easy to navigate through the waiver form on the provided tablets. They are not overly policing which makes the experience so much more relaxed than a lot of other ranges in California that I've been to. read more

Father and son day of fun at Elite Armory Plus. my son recently graduated from Marines and as his graduation gift received a new hand gun from Elite Armory Castro Valley(see review). the guys in Tracy were extra nice to my son. He did a quick but very informative handgun walkthrough and general tips on handling and shooting. Free range time was part of the purchase. The Elite employee spent time with son on the range getting him started and comfortable. After we were done shooting, they were very attentive and helped him pick out a stream lite and with a Military discount. it's a bit of a drive to Tracy, but we made a day of it with a nice lunch downtown. highly recommended. read more

I seen someone leave a bad review due to "discrimination". I'm 24 , African American, been going here since 17 . Never once have I felt discriminated. They are very welcoming, even to my other friends/ family that go. If you're acting like a classless hooligan I doubt even McDonald's will give you a great look. Since moving back to the Bay Area I haven't been able to go as frequently as I wish, but I purchased a Glock 27 there, and my family members also purchased through Elite Armory. Very nice and clean indoor range. I'm only giving 4/5 stars due to the lack of "fun" attachments. (I may be wrong) but I wish they had lasers and red dot sights for handguns. But overall they have amazing stock, and the AR they allow you to rent made me fall in love with AR's. That thing was accurate as Tom Brady in the 4th quarter! For rentals they have a great selection to choose from. Very helpful and patient staff. read more

They have a good indoor firing range and are able to rent firearms to you to try. Their staff were friendly to me and my wife. I have over 25 years of firearm experience both in the service and civilian life. HOWEVER my only gripe is the markup on their firearms that I purchased there last week were about $150-200 compared to gun shops in Modesto or Turlock for the exact same weapon. I went today for the first time and used the indoor range. Facility is excellent and the staff was great. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. There was a young women that came alone and they rented her a firearm and took her into the range and was very friendly and helpful to the women. I like that they rent firearms so my wife can try out different firearms to see what fits her the best before she makes a purchase. I will be visiting often and will be bringing my family as well. Wasn't a fan of indoor shotgun shooting, just super loud of indoors with ear plugs and ear protection. Staff was probably the nicest I've talked to, other than asp in vacaville. So I've been here for range a few times, everything was fine and everyone was friendly. My issue is that some people here do not know the correct info. So I purchased a pistol here early July, when I went to pick it up I started looking at AR's (The sale of the pistol was 5 stars). I returned about a week later after doing some research as this was my first AR. I was waiting to shoot which was about an hour wait, so I started the paperwork to purchase a Daniel Defense. While doing the paper it was about noon when the next shift of guys started, while doing the paperwork I did mention that I had recently purchased a pistol from them and we continued with the paperwork and was giving a pick up date. A day later I received a call saying my background check was rejected because there is a 30 day wait period since I just bought the pistol and was told to come back after July 31. So I returned on Aug 2 and tell them what happened so we can begin the new paperwork. The person helping was starting the paperwork when another employee heard me talking about what happened and informed the other employee that the 30 days starts from the last time they ran my background and not when I purchased the pistol background. So far 2 people didn't know the right info and this employee was the 3rd. Luckily the employee who overheard us informed him of the proper info and they went into the back to confirm with someone. If the first employee would've known this info he could've informed me that there's a 30 day period I would have to wait, I would've waited another week to run the background and it would've been able to pick up mid Aug. now I have to wait till end of Aug to run the background again and pick up in Sept. Is it just me or does asking if you purchased a firearm within the last 30 days seem kind of standard? I was told that this rarely happens, and they can't see purchases from another shop, I get that. But when I say I was here 2 weeks ago and bought a pistol from your shop shouldn't that raise a flag with the employee? The employee helping understood my frustration and offered to waive the next background. Having the correct info is very important to keep repeat customers. I came here because I live in Tracy and want to support our shops. If the first guy would've caught this and informed me I had to wait on the background there would've been no issue. But here I am 3 out of the 4 didn't know the correct procedure. I now have a new date so we'll see how that goes, but I will definitely make sure the info is correct before we run the next one. I don't want to name drop either cause everyone there has been helpful prior to this purchase. read more

Very professional and safe. Only bad thing is you can't rapid fire to practice follow up shots, 1,001 between each shot. Take a drive out to the country to shoot fast. Indoor is cool enough in the summer and warm enough in the winter. These guys run a good business. read more

Good gun store and a really nice indoor range that's well ventilated, all the staff was super helpful and friendly. My girlfriend was able to take her firearms test process was painless and also we were able to shoot in the range. Lanes are perfect for anyone looking for some target practice. Dogs are a plus! German Shepard and little bully were awesome company while I waited for her to complete her test. All in all best place in the bay with the best prices hands down check these guys out! Been here a few times already for some range time and it has always been great. I like that there is a display for range versus looking on a wall/floor and estimating range. I am going to have to invest in the clips used to hold the targets as I am always dropping at least one into the target area. I have had no issues with staff (have always been friendly and courteous with me). For the most part, prices are competitive for guns. They have a decent amount of accessories for ARs as well as other things (magazines, cleaning, pepper spray, etc.) Definitely a place I will be stopping by for range time. read more

If I can put 0 stars I would. This place seem awesome but the clerk was a total A*****e with me since I entered the store. I was looking to purchase my first handgun with EA plus. But was discriminated as soon as I entered the store because of how I was dressed. I came prepared with all my documentation the guy just seem to have a problem of how I was dressed because he was talking really bad about people from the "Bay Area" guy didn't even know we're I was from & he was already talking s***. Do not recommend this place at ALL. Color seem to definitely be an issue here ! Didn't even bother asking him for his name. He know who he is. Walks around with his open carry acting really tuff for whatever reason don't know if he has family problems or just racial problems. Won't ever do business with them. This isn't your typical gun shop. The staff is actually friendly and doesn't expect you to know everything there ever was about guns. They are helpful and willing to answer all your questions. They will explain anything you don't understand. The range is great as well. Would definitely recommend for first time gun buyers. Also found their prices to be normal when so many other shops have greatly inflated what they charge. All in all these folks are honest and fair. read more

The Original Store in Castro Valley is nothing like this store. The experience I had at this store was horrible. The gentleman opened the door with his body blocking the entryway and ask what was I looking for. His response was we only have 2 pistols for sale. After an awkward silence for about a minute. I then ask may I enter the store. He proceeded to say sure you can but I'm just telling you what we have available. After proceeding to enter the store, the gentleman then make a tasteless joke about how they don't have anything available because I voted for Biden. The guy didn't know a lick about me but assumed that I voted for Biden. I couldn't believe what I was hearing that it took me for a surprise why anyone would even say that towards a customer. I just wanted to say that I come from 2 generations of war fighters including myself having served in the USAF. It pissed me off because for one it shouldn't matter who the hell I voted for and furthermore I joined to protect and preserve the rights of every single American whether you voted for Biden or Trump. Very disappointed and to add i purchased my very first firearm at Elite Armory in Castro Valley. Do better guys. I'll give this establishment a second chance but things have to be corrected. There's a negative review about how their military discount is too small. This really pisses me off! As a veteran it's nice if a business offers a discount, but to expect one and then complain it's too small is just tacky and gross. I hope people realize that not all veterans have that type of classless, entitlement attitude. This store has been awesome. Very professional and helpful.
