Best Barbershop in Joliet Moving from Chicago to Joliet one of the main things I was worried about was where I will be cutting my hair. Getting comfortable with 1 person for so many years and having to go look for someone else made me nervous. Being new here, I took myself to google and just searched " Best Barbershops around me " and bang Elite Barber Lounge showed up. I was impressed by the reviews and pictures, so I decided to try them. After going there and giving it a try, I would say that this place has become my go-to place whenever I need a haircut. From the outside, the place looked abandoned with no pictures in sight, just the shop's name, and all-black tinted windows. When I went inside I was surprised as everything looked professional and high quality. While waiting for my turn, I started to look at the people getting their haircuts and my nerves just disappeared. Every haircut getting done looked like those pictures you find on google and are just impressed. From only looking around the place, the place looked like the one. My name gets called up so it's my turn to get a haircut. The Barber took his time and was even cracking jokes here and there. After he was done cutting my hair he passed me a mirror so I'm able to look at the haircut and I was just so happy and felt relieved. The crispiness of the fade and the lines were amazing. All in all, the experience was great, and I would rate it 5 stars. The service, the cleanliness, and the comfort this shop brings made it all a great experience. This place is fantastic. First place I have found that every barber in shop knows thier craft. I regularly see Jesse, the owner who is great. He knows what's I want before asking and always takes his time. You never ever feel rushed. Jesse runs a great business and is focused on delivering a truly upscale service and experience floor almost his clients. Sure, they're are going to be shops cheaper but you get what you pay for! This is an excellence experience worth the little extra. Highly recommend if you really want a solid, consistent men's cut. Called on a Saturday afternoon an hour before closing and a lady said I could still walk in. I assured her I was just around the corner 10 minutes away. When I got there the guy at reception said they were no longer taking any walk-ins. I said to the lady who was there I talked to her and she admitted saying I could come. People kept coming in and shaking hands and hopping right in a chair and got their hair cut when my husband walked out then the lady walked out behind him and said they were next. The place looks legit, but after our experience, it just seems like a front. They had music playing when we walked in, and everyone looked hard at work. Signing in, the iPad used makes the price clear; $25. But doesn't say its cash only (we found out at the end). My husband was seated immediately, so I was assuming we would be in and out soon. He asked for a quick fade and some thinning with a part. Half the time, instead of cutting hair, the barber was on his phone looking up music to play. He would cut hair for 30 sec, then turn his attention to his phone, or to the other barber to whisper about something. The line he did for the part was sloppy looking, with the overall final haircut looking like a newbie did it. Also, he used a straight blade to clean up his neck. I'm pretty sure they don't clean their equipment properly, since after, my husband broke out in a rash/ bumps and we had to keep cleaning it in order for it to go away. My dad said it was a fungi, since he had had a similar outcome from another barber. I tried convincing my husband he looked fine, but we were both dissatisfied with the service.
