I really love Michelle as a stylist, I had her do my hair 4-5 years ago and remembered her since then... but I couldn't remember her name. I was finally able to find her again through Diva's Facebook page and I'm so glad. I booked a haircut and full highlight, wanting to go back to my natural color so my hair could continue to grow and be healthy. I didn't realize I should have booked for a color correction, but Michelle moved her clients around to give more time to do my hair. I would have been more than understanding to reschedule, but thankful she was able to fit me in! One of the other ladies was amazing as well running to the store to get more product for my hair. It doesn't look like a huge change, but this was removing box color from my hair so it could better match my roots and a treatment to prevent damage. I am also not a huge talker and shy during appointments like this, but it didn't feel awkward at all and I had a chance to just enjoy being pampered and relax. Overall, I'm so grateful Michelle and the ladies were so accommodating and understanding with me. There wasn't frustration even for a split second. I tried Divas after a long search for a good cut. I wanted layers and it's been a challenge to find someone who is able to cut layers well. My first appointment was with Jana in October - I explained what I was looking for and she took the time to listen. After we were done, I was really thrilled with how it turned out (and am so sad I don't have a photograph to show just how great of a job she did!). She took the time afterwards to blow dry my hair out, even though she was running behind for her next cut. I asked her which products she used in my hair, and she helped me find them in the shelf and since then, Aveda products have been my new favorite! I went back to Jana a couple of months later, since layers need to be maintained often. She still did a wonderful job and again, took the time to blow dry afterwards! Went in to get a haircut and color my hair for the first time in over a year. I wasn't exactly sure what I wanted but knew I wanted to do a demi-permanent dye with some highlights for dimension. I can't remember the name of the stylist I had but she was clearly very experienced and knew how to handle my curly/wavy hair. I was anxious about how highlights would turn out as I've heard horror stories. She was great about choosing where to place them and they turned out very natural looking. Went in yesterday for cut & style. This was my first time there but I found them while researching for a good shop because 3 bad cuts from my previous shop (will not name). I researched all I could find on them and decided to try. So far, I am thrilled! Jana D, my stylist, was patient, listened (actually listened) to what I told her, gave me her professional ideas, and kept checking with me throughout to see if I was happy, what else I was thinking of, etc. She was awesome, everyone I came in contact with was super friendly & helpful. Booked an appointment online a week ago and called to confirm appointment the day before my appointment and they said they were full and can't get me in for a week. I could've made an appointment with another salon had I known that booking online doesn't guarantee an appointment. Very unhappy as it is a holiday weekend and expected to have my hair done and they can't get me in for another week they said. They shouldn't have online booking if they can't accommodate clients. I used to be a longtime customer here until my regular lady left and meanwhile, found a different place. I just made an appointment here since I was nearby. WOW, this place changed pretty quickly visually. They now occupy 2 storefronts in their strip mall and the hair cutting stations looked so immaculate and fancy that it looked like something out of a Pottery Barn magazine. Service was still very good, despite making an appointment just a few hours ago. I only wanted my collicks and neckline trimmed up, which my person did nicely, but for $15? Didn't even take her 5 minutes to finish. Will I guess somethings got to pay for their fancy furniture fixings. Seriously though... this place isn't bad at all, just rather pricey. If I remember right, they charge $25 for a Men's haircut. read more

This review is for Diane in the spa, as I only had my eyebrows done here. I made a same day appointment and was able to get in within an our of calling in, so that was a definite plus. The front desk was exceptionally nice as well. I walked in with my daughter, and as a 2 year old would put it, wow it's pretty! It is a gorgeous salon, and it continued into the spa area, and wow this place is huge! Everyone was extremely nice and polite, and that was a plus. It reminded me of where I get my hair done in the city. I only waited a few minutes as she was finishing up with a customer. We walked back and she held great conversation while quickly taming my beastly brows. I wish she could have made them a bit thinner, but I don't take chances with the brows, and will inquire next time with a picture. At the end of the appointment she walked us to the front where we paid and she introduced my daughter to the candy bowl :) Why not five stars? Nothing big, but it was a tiny awkard having the person you are tipping standing right there as you tell the front desk how much. I'm sure it would have been fine if I was a regular but it was weird. Diane definitely deserved a tip, and she will be added to my list of go to's in the suburbs :) Too bad they don't have a stylist that does African American hair, then I would be head over heels! read more

I brought my young daughter here for the first time. We began with a rough start. When she was seated at a shampoo bowl, it had dark hair color on the back part of the seat. Needless to say her white shirt was now stained with hair dye. The stylist was very apologetic but needless to say the shirt was ruined. We proceeded with the haircut and the stylist did a nice job. When it was time to check out I was asked how things went. I commended the stylist but conveyed my frustration about my daughters shirt. I was speaking to one of the owners who couldn't have been nicer. She not only apologized but reimbursed me for the new school shirt I would have to purchase. I really did not expect this typee of service but was very impressed. I will definitely be back. It was so refreshing to see this level of care and customer service. Thank you for caring. read more

This review does not speak of the salon itself but of the service I had done. I saw Corey for an eyelash lift and tint. She was nice and professional but the service didn't do a thing. My eyelashes looked no different when I left than when I arrived. No curl and barely noticeable tint. A week later and the only thing I have to show for it is a burned inner eyelid with chemical blisters. Not worth the $75+ I spent. Wish I would have never done it. Complete waste of my time and money and now I have to deal with my eye bothering me. If you're thinking about an eyelash lift, don't do it. At least not at this salon. read more

I had a nightmare experience 1st and last time here with Stylist Michelle. It was the day before my 59th birthday & My Regular Salon has not reopened. I felt rushed to decide what needed to be done I did what she said " If it was my hair I would do highlights & low lights " after painful rushed weaving of hair & ripping out foil . Saw other stylist massaging her clients head , Nope not mine she rushed that too & I had such a headache post foil being ripped out I should have Yelled " ouch" but I didn't when brought back to chair , She took off towel & there was my huge blob of grey hair on my crown / part I came in to get rid of , So I pointed to it & said The Grey is still here ?? . She scolded me saying I only booked a Partial . And slapped on some color to hide the grey basically doing process backwards & now highlights will be covered then sat me in corner by bathroom to let dry , luckily bathroom had tissue & I sat there crying . I was so humiliated And upset that she would treat me like this ?? At a place " Spa" called Divas?? If she didn't have time for more than a Partial she should have said so , But I saw no one waiting in the wings for her ?? I almost said don't even dry it I just want to go home ,.. But I wanted to be sure the " backwards" hair dye wouldn't look too noticeable. $ 140 later I left speechless & in tears , She said a Sarcastic Happy Birthday & I couldn't get out of there fast enough . I'm sure the other stylist are lovely & observed many doing great jobs . So I don't think its the Spa overall . But they need to have a talk with Michelle on how to treat clients in the future . I never have not tipped anyone , and usually go overboard, But I had to make a point that I was very unhappy with her rushed & nasty treatment of me . And the hair didn't turn out well but could have been a lot worse the way she was slapping on the color Post highlights . So because of this experience I personally will never go here for any treatment ever again read more

Horrible. After fighting with my AWFUL haircut again this morning, I decided to write this review so that no one else experiences this. I went to see Annie and I wish I hadn't. Not only did she not even try to talk to me throughout the entire appointment, she acted like I was bothering her that I had even made an appointment in the first place. When trying to explain what I wanted (as simple as a decent trim with long layers and a full highlight, seems pretty simple to me), she acted as if I was telling her how to do her job. I'm sorry, but it's my hair and yes I will be specific on how I'd like it done because apparently a highlight and cut was a stretch. I asked for 2 inches off my hair with long layers. I now have a shag. The layers in the back are so choppy I feel like I haven't seen anything like this since the 80's. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason to this haircut. Not to mention she literally rushed through EVERYTHING like she had something more important to get to. Or wanted me the hell out of her chair. The one star would be for the color. Even though I had to wash it several times to get the toner out because it was left in too long. Oh. Did I mention the HUGE bleeder on the top of my head that could have been fixed if she even took the time to check the color or even ask how I liked it. Horrible experience. I'll be growing this shag out for the rest of the summer. NEVER AGAIN. read more

I love this place. I had always gone to Jagged Edge before coming here, but when my stylist left I was nervous if I'd ever find anyone or any place i'd like again. Diva's is great. When you walk in, the place is super nice. Whoever decorated it-kudos to you. I see only Magen, but I work with a couple of girls that get their hair done by David and his coloring skills are great. Everyone there is really friendly and helpful and you don't feel like they are ever trying to push product or services on you, which I had always hated at Jagged Edge. I recently followed Maria to Diva's after seeing her for nearly 15 years at her previous spa in Hinsdale (the one she owned). Maria is the best and knows so much about skincare. I've had botched facials from other people in the past, ones where they don't prepare you properly and then ruin your skin trying to extract, but I will follow Maria no matter where she goes. I just visited Diva's for the first time today and I loved my experience. I was pampered with a facial and brow shaping from Maria. She is the best! My eyebrows have never looked this good! My skin is also glowing and is so soft from the facial. She even gave me some samples of the product she used for me to try at home. The salon staff was very welcoming and the atmosphere is very positive. Before I left, I booked an appointment to get my hair done and another brow appointment with Maria.
